He took a detour and said it would take 23 minutes longer, but wouldn't explain why. I asked questions, most of which he wouldn't answer. He said he didn't want to have any more conversation. Hmmm. I missed my bus. He said the address I gave him was in Back Bay, but it wasn't. So when I asked to go to Back Bay to find another bus/train, he said it was way on the other side of town. He told me to get out and find another taxi. The fare was a whopping $82.95!!!!!!! I handed him my credit card. He said he didn't take credit cards. He asked for Venmo. I use Venmo, but not from my phone. He yelled at me, "YOU don't have Venmo???" As we were in front of a Sheraton Hotel, I went in to use the cash machine while he held my luggage hostage. But first, I took a photo of his license tag. I gave him $80. No tip. He released my luggage. Then I walked over to another taxi who said Back Bay was only a 5-min ride away. The fare was $5.60. He said taxi drivers are supposed to take credit cards. He also questioned the $82.95. Said it was very high. Said my trip should have cost $55, even in traffic. Said I was "taken". I was in Europe for 2 weeks. Did not have one bad experience with people. Everybody was nice, polite. Nobody hustled me. My family and I visited Boston recently to visit my dad and his sister. They actually live in a…read moretown called Hull, which south of Boston on the Bay. By boat, it's about 20 minutes to Boston but by car it's almost an hour. The boats stop running around 7 p.m. so we decided to take a limo to our very first game at Fenway. I love this idea because then we don't have to deal with directions, traffic or parking. Seaport Livery came through when we needed a car to take us to the game! Our driver was five minutes early for our scheduled pickup and he was totally prepared to make our trip really comfortable. There were small snacks and water waiting for us in the car when we arrived in case we were hungry. He knew his way around Hull and was able to get us into the city in under an hour, even in traffic. Awesome! Our driver was super nice and very chatty, which I enjoy. He shared a lot of information about Boston and baseball, which was really great for all of us in the car. The game was delayed in the 5th inning due to rain, so we decided to just high tail it out of there and get back home. We called to arrange a pickup and our driver knew exactly where to get us to avoid baseball traffic. We only had to walk two blocks and the pickup was super fast and easy. Our ride back was much like our ride to the game and that was A-OK with me! More talk of baseball and the driver's life growing up in Boston. Super awesome! All in all, very wonderful service. We paid about $120 total with tip and that is totally worth it to avoid all of the hassles that come along with driving in a new place to a baseball game. Unfortunately I can't remember his name now, but he was one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with. He took care of all the details and was very thorough while somehow at the same time giving me the feeling I was talking to a long lost friend. On our trip to the airport we were picked up promptly at 4:30 am by our driver Laurie, who was fabulous despite the early hour! She got us there quickly and we were all at ease and relaxed by the time we got there. She is a hoot! On our return trip as soon as I took my phone off airplane mode after landing I was greeted with a text from Dave, our return driver. He gave us instructions on where he was waiting for us, conveniently outside the luggage pickup area. Unfortunately, we came home to a snow storm but thankfully Dave is a fabulous driver, who made us all feel at ease even though we encountered many slippery, unplowed roads. Healey Bus came through with a competitive rate and excellent service. I spoke with the owner once and with the dispatcher to secure our date and itinerary. Both were very polite and helpful. The bus service was one thing over which I had no control once the wedding day began, but not to worry. The bus was clean and tidy as promised. The driver arrived perfectly on time and got all our guests safely to the ceremony. He later brought everyone to and from our reception as scheduled, making multiple trips through the narrow streets of Boston without a hitch.
