What made the experience even more special was what it meant to my mom and me. Being able to wear her wedding gown during my wedding weekend became one of our most meaningful memories. Came here to try it out since my kids school Is nearby. The dry cleaners by my house closed and I need a new one. This place turned out to be pretty awesome. I sent a few items to try it out first and it ended up being great. The clothes got cleaned well. There was one item that they thought they wouldn't be able to clean and they actually messaged me to ask. I told them to go ahead. The stain was removed and I was pleased. The value is ok. I've been going to Sir Galloway for the past couple of months to bring my dress shirts. I am usually charged $4 per shirt. I went a couple of weeks ago to pick up my order and I was charged $12 per shirt. I explained that I am usually charged $4 and they said $4 is for laundering only, and I need to specify that I only want my shirts laundered the next time I visit. When I dropped off my shirts again I made sure to specify that I only wanted my shirts laundered and the staff acknowledged this. When I went to pick the order up the other day, I was again charged $12 per shirt. Their excuse was that the fabric contained some synthetic materials so they needed to charge more. This place will try to rip you off. I don't recommend their dry cleaning services. read more

Brought a pair of slacks for alterations, measured at the store and handed to store personnel. Picked up slacks a week later and tried them when I got home. Slacks were not hemmed at the specified length and are too long. Called store and was informed that I would be charged another $26 for alterations. I informed them that it was their mistake. I would still be charged another $26 for the alteration AGAIN!!!! Bad business, if this goes on I would be charged a $26 for every alteration until they got the correct length!!!! How can I rate a dry cleaners that wants to be classified as high end or upscale when they are the furthest from that. I have taken my clothes to another Sir Galloway, by when I grew up in Pinecrest, and now I have visited this one on Sunset Drive. The last time I dropped off my pants to get altered, I was floored by the unprofessional, half ass, distrusting service I was treated by. The woman behind the counter Yakima, was incompetent, rude and didn't know how to alter simple pants. I needed a simple hem for a pair of pants and my coworker suggested Sir Galloway. I went in on Saturday and the very nice older woman at the desk spoke good enough English to say that she could do simple hems but for something more complicated I would need to go to "the plant" which is located closer to the Falls. She had me try the pants on and then pinned them on one side only. I explained I would be wearing the pants with flats to make sure she took them up enough. I filled out my customer information by hand, and was then given a printed receipt with a barcode and promised that they would be ready Wednesday. When I returned, I presented the receipt and the same woman could not locate the pants. I stood and waited for 20 minutes maybe more while she looked through all the racks and kept checking the system. Sure she was apologetic but let's just say I wasn't expecting to spend 30 minutes of my day at the dry cleaners picking up my alterations. I tried on the pants before I paid to make sure that they were ok and I came out to show her that they are still slightly long. At this point I am annoyed because of how long I've waited and they haven't exactly inspired confidence that they would do it right the second time either. So I paid my $12.75 and left. This was disappointing to say the least. The least they could have done was offered me a discount or a coupon for a future order or something (anything!). I went a few months ago for the first time and I was very happy from start to finish. The lady who helped me was very nice and showed interest in my needs. The clothes was ready when they said it would be, everything came out great. A week after I picked up my clothes, I got a hand written note from the shop thanking me for giving them the opportunity to serve me. I had a pair of pants that needed a small mend where the stitching had come loose. I decided to try Sir Galloway because of the positive Yelp reviews and convenient location. Overall, I had a good experience. Dropping off the garment was quick and easy, and it was ready when they promised. The price was reasonable enough, about $8, and though I did not dry clean the item they did a nice iron on it making the pleats nice and crisp! This pleased me greatly :) My only complaint is that the seamstress is not on site. It seems this is more of a smaller outpost location. Their main location is further south on 87th Ave and that is where the seamstress is based. Since it was a very simple repair I was able to deal with the lady there but she really had no knowledge on the subject. For more detailed repairs or alterations you would not be able to come to this location. You would have to go to the main location further south. Other than that this seems like a good location to drop off routine dry cleaning and simple mends. read more

Update to my last review: Lucrecia, the store manager reached out to me yesterday. She was very sweet and professional and explained to me that it was an error on the stores part to charge the amount I was charged. Apparently the system they have in place is to assume that any long dress is an evening gown, and that they will be reviewing the pricing to further clarify the differences between dress styles. She refunded me the entire $46 and even gave me her personal cell phone number to reach out to her if I ever needed anything like this again. Blanca and Mabelin are terrific. They are always polite, professional and go the extra mile to assist me. Though the dry cleaning is expensive, every garment is perfect when given back to me, including minor repairs. They've even returned cash left in my pants pocket. They have never lost or ruined one of my garments; something I cannot say for many other cleaners I have used. When I went to use it I was told I would get 10 coupons of $10 each and they would be valid for "dry cleaning" only (no laundry) and I had to have a minimum of 4 items for each $10 certificate. Do not bring your clothes to Sir Galloway for alterations. I had 7 shirts that were too big on me and made the mistake of taking them to alter at the Sunset location. Long story short, 22 days later i picked up my garments (they didn't bother to call to tell me the clothes were ready) and 2 of my shirts are now too small and don't fit me at all. I wasn't offered a refund, discount or even a simple apology. I was told the manager would contact me - it's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard from anyone. And they're not cheap; you would think that charging what they charge they would have professional personnel and better customer service. I will not be patronizing Sir Galloway anymore and all my friends, family and colleagues have been warned! read more
