I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Sir Spa. I scheduled a two-hour massage with Jesus, and he was WONDERFUL! I appreciated how attentive and sensitive he was to my needs. I also appreciated how clean the locker room and showers were. I didn't get a chance to enjoy the steam room, but perhaps next time. Having a wide variety of beverages to enjoy in the relaxing room was also a pleasant surprise. Perhaps most importantly, I felt like I could be my authentic self and feel safe while there. Perhaps that's not such a big deal in Chicago, but I live in Texas, and I don't often feel like I can just be me, so this was refreshing. I feel mixed feelings about Sir Spa. I've been over 10 times now for mostly just massages. I've had many different therapists and most of them are...fine. But my biggest complaints would be the care is not consistent in quality, the prices are a bit high/raise often and the accommodations aren't great. The waiting room is uncomfortable, public, & active. The steam room takes a long time to warm up and if you go in the morning you should just wish that goodbye. I've gotten some great massages here. Gotten one of 2 bad ones. And a bunch of fine. They also email ALOT but never with any sort of incentive to come back. read more

Scored a last-minute appointment last Friday afternoon for a wax with Adrian Avila after a long hiatus. Found the facilities mostly clean, welcoming, and tastefully appointed. I was directed to the changing areas, given a brief overview of the facilities, followed by a generous glass of wine while I waited. Wax services were provided to my complete satisfaction, and Adrian was both professional and personable. Renovated common areas seemed to be the type where lingering is encouraged, but that wasn't my interest that day. I told him that I was off today and a need-me day. He hit all the right spots on my body I was so relaxed that I fell asleep. The vibe with Markus was great. He has great energy surrounding him. We always have an excellent massage at Sir Spa. The facilities are always clean, the staff is always professional and polite, and the masseuses are always superb. Usually, I don't care which masseuse I get, but this time I had Manny and I'm never getting a massage from anyone else again. I need a lot of pressure for any real relaxation and Manny did not disappoint! I think this was the best massage of my life. Also, a note for those getting a couples massage--you will be in separate rooms, which is different than other places I've had a couples massage at. It's pretty clearly a function of each massage room only having space for one table. Gerardo was very helpful with reducing my stress. I deal with self-esteem issues along with body image issues and he made me feel very comfortable and at ease during my treatment. He was very kind and could tell I was under a lot of stress, and he helped me with my breathing, which made the visit that much better. Twenty minutes before my scheduled appointment, Sir Spa contacted me by phone to say they had received a message from my technician that I needed to reschedule my appointment. I explained that I was en route and would be there in 10 minutes. This is the third (and last) time Sir Spa has done this. I should have never given this place another chance. I called yesterday and spoke to a front desk person about scheduling a couples spa appointment for Friday at 5:30 pm. The front desk person seemed a bit frazzled and kept asking about 4pm for Friday. I knew then that was a bad sign so I confirmed again what I was looking for. Well appointment day comes I walk in with my husband and the front desk person tells us we do not have an appointment. After I show my confirmation email they were unable to accommodate and admitted they made the mistake of scheduling the wrong date and time. All we got was an I'm sorry. Leaving one star. This place has burned me the last time. Loved coming here for years but just gone down hill every year. After my last visit where I received 70/90 minutes I booked, I thought I'd be done. But being a nice person I said, "new ownership. Let's give them a chance". My husband booked us for next day appointments, I knew we were in trouble when he had to repeat the date and time over and over because the receptionist wasn't focusing. So finally he confirms us, we show up and the receptionist can't find our couples massage. Asks us to pull up the confirmations and see the receptionist booked us for NEXT week. This was frustrating as we drove down and were all set but what was more irritating was the person checking us in offered nothing but a "sorry about that! I can get one in in a half hour". Does no good when we are trying to do a spa time together. No "let me give you $ off" or "can I schedule you for another date" (wouldn't have taken it anyway. The massage therapists here are outstanding. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the customer service. I have a difficult time wrapping my head around why Sir Spa cannot deliver consistent, authentic, honest, quality customer service. When they get called out for this they deliver condescending, demeaning customer service as though they were a child retaliating for doing something wrong. My review is based on their last minute cancellation of a planned service. I had scheduled a service several weeks in advance and had been responsive to the their multiple confirmation texts and emails. I was contacted less than an hour ahead of an afternoon appointment with the cancellation. Emergencies happen, even within an hour of an appointment things can occur, and my best wishes for the situation that arose. But it seems like a back up plan would be the right service. There was no expression that the situation would be anticipated better for me or other future clients. It should be part of their work to have a back up plan for call outs, not mine, right? I guess I'd say have a plan B if you book something here. read more

I received a gift certificate for Sir Spa for Christmas. I had never been and judging by the reviews, I was a little skeptical. I didn't want to waste the gift certificate, so I wound up booking a Foot Recovery pedicure and a 90 minute massage. We did struggle with the receptionist when we booked by phone. We had to repeat our names and services a few times, which we thought was a little weird. Different receptionist when we arrived though. He was great. Both treatments I got were great - No complaints. What stood out for me was the pedicure with Armarie. She gave me one of the *best* pedicures I've ever received. She took her time, didn't rush through, and really felt out my feet to make sure they were both soft and well groomed. I never had a pedicure where I felt 100% focused on. I will definitely be going back for a pedicure! I did pop into the locker room to take a quick shower before my massage. I did see employees going around to make sure it was clean. The manager, Markus was making rounds to make sure we were ok. The spa could use a little bit of an update - oh well. The service and services were exceptional. read more

The burn was second-degree as evidenced by the blistering (s. I iced it for the entirety of my wax/trim. The spa called me, but blamed the incident on the size of the room and made reference to the light, suggesting I should have seen it. The massages here are actually pretty good. Unfortunately, the management is not. I tried this place out and ended up going back four or five times. The last time I was there, the front door receptionist advised that I could change in the locker room. After I had done so, and was literally walking into my treatment room, a man who I only presume to be a manager told me that I had to get all my clothes back on, and change in the treatment room. Mind you, I was literally walking into the treatment room... When I looked at him perplexed and dumfounded, he quickly snapped that if I didn't like it, I could leave... which is exactly what I did. I have never been back again and never will be. It is astounding people in the service business forget what it means to be in the service business. Long and short of it -- good massages, awful, awful management. Great massage and relaxing atmosphere. The steam room is nice to relax in, as are the rain showers and complimentary products in the men's locker room. I like the lounge type chairs to relax in the waiting area with sheer curtain for privacy that were in the spa before, but the new chairs are better looking than the old ones, which were worn. The spa looks great. The complimentary beverages are nice, my only suggestion would be to add white wine in addition to the beer selection. Update: 7/16/21 I spoke with Markus and he apologized for the concerns related to scheduling and offered me a discount on my next service. Sir Spa transitioned to a new system and the app is no longer available for use. Markus assured me they have processes in place to return voicemails and email appointment requests. He did not make any excuses as to why my call was not returned, which I appreciate. He simply stated the process was not followed. Original post: 7/12/21 I have been a regular client/customer of Sir Spa for many years and often get multiple services (massage, mud wrap, etc.) during the same visit. I have no complaints about the services themselves, but like many others on here, I find the customer service provided by the front desk team to be lacking. Until recently, I used to schedule my appointments utilizing the app...it was typically quick and easy. I'd submit my request, and within a few hours would receive details of available appointment times within the range I'd designated. I'd respond and then would receive a follow up confirmation email. Over the last several months, my appointment requests via the app have gone unanswered until I follow up with an email or call to the front desk. Most recently I requested appointments in the evening (specifically stated multiple days and times that I was available) and after follow-up emails I was told no appointments were available at the time requested. Instead, I was presented with a 1:45 pm appointment during a day I had already stated I was not available. I understand that the times I desire may not always be available, but I would expect to be presented with times at later dates that might work rather than being presented with times I've already stated will not work. I ended up not scheduling a service but did ask how best to schedule future appointments as I had not had much luck of late. I was told calling directly is the best way to schedule. I decided to call and schedule my next appointment. I did not get a live person so I left a voicemail with the desired service and asked for a call back. This voicemail was left during their open hours and over 24 hours later I've not received a call back. I recognize the service industry is struggling and the last 18 months have been difficult, but that excuse poor customer service. Maybe your voicemail should say, we are busy with other clients right now but value your business and will make every attempt to return your call within 24 hours. Or make it a point to return all voicemails prior to closing each day. I'm going to give Sir Spa one more try and I hope they can do better. I value the services that I receive there and don't want the massage therapist and aesthetician to suffer due to poor customer service from the front desk. read more

I've been here a few times. The facility is still nice, staff is friendly, prices fair. This appointment, however, I was given a masseur that clearly had no idea what the heck he was doing. First, his phone rang not once, not twice but 3 times during my massage. He didn't answer it, but one would think he'd have turned off the ringer. His massage style was awful. I won't go into detail, but it involved randomly placed hot towels that we're left on the skin until cold and clammy. He applied massage oil to my back the same way a person would squirt dish detergent into a greasy pan. So, all that said, I was sent an email post-visit and pretty much wrote the above review. A manager (or someone) replied back apologizing for the experience and are willing to give me 10% off my next visit. 10%. Which on a $100 massage is ten bucks. The service wasn't just off, it was abysmal. $10 is something you give to people when a appointment starts late - not when the appointment is ruined. They expect me to come back and spend $90 and roll the dice that another of their masseurs has been trained and vetted properly? Then, as a further kick in the crotch, the next day I get a general email blast offering 20% massages. That tells you how much they invest in keeping customers happy. read more

I always thought Sir Spa was kind of a big deal considering it's location and the clientele it served. It's been around for several years already which I took as a good sign. The services I booked were a waxing (back) and a massage. Both were well executed in a clean and welcoming environment. Both of the men who served me were professional, polite, and talented. The reason I've given only two stars is that the promotional material for Sir Spa refers to the 'spa experience' and the 'spa amenities' which I either didn't locate or, as I think, don't really exist. There is a relaxation room - essentially an alcove off of the hallway with four comfortable chairs, a coffee machine, water decanter, mixed nuts / pretzels, and a mini-fridge with bottled somethings in it. There were newspapers to read but the light was too dim to do so. The locker room is cramped. It's about the size of a kitchen in a suburban home. There were lotions, creams, soaps, etc.... but nothing special. I'll give them this however - the showers are great. I was looking forward to spending time in the steam room following my treatments but was disappointed to open the door and find that the steam room is smaller than the standard 5'x8" bathroom. It's a steam closet, not a steam room. Call it a men's salon - that's much closer to what is Sir Spa. The services are good. The appointments punctual. The amenities though are lacking. read more

Best men's spa/ salon hands down in all of Chicago! Scott is a fabulous esthetician! Super professional and very personable! I've been to him multiple times for my waxing! Facials are super relaxing and the massages are Devine! I felt like melted butter after! The spa is super clean and they have a waiting room with wine and tea etc etc that puts you in a relaxing state of mind! My masseuse was josh and I defiantly recommend him too.
