    Pad si yu
    Margy C.

This was just a quick run in to pick up an online order. The pad si yu (many variations on the spelling from other places) is usually my go to because I like the flat noodles which reminds of the Cantonese beef chow fun. The noodles with Chinese broccoli and pork were very good. The portion size seemed a little on the small side as it didn't really fill the container. Regardless, food was tasty. The pork, crab, and shrimp dumplings were also very good. I hope my next visit will be dine in.

I love the decor in here, it's so festive and eye catching. Their customer service is on point, our server was friendly and hospitable. I loved the flaky crust of the curry puffs and the filling was well seasoned, I really enjoyed the dipping sauce that came with it, it was sweet and refreshing. You could never go wrong with their Thai iced tea and basil fried rice. I decided to try something new so I ordered the shrimp peppery garlic fried rice, it was not spicy at all. I found it to be an underwhelming dish especially compared to the basil fried rice, it tasted one dimensional.

Thai Chef in Rockville is a solid 3.5-star spot. It's "good enough" if you're already in the Town Center, but with so many bustling Thai places nearby, the competition is definitely tough. The food was decent across the board--nothing felt super fresh or stellar, but I did like that they offered a fried tilapia. The biggest downside was a really strong odor near the bathroom area, which was a bit of a turn-off. Overall, it's a satisfactory choice if you just need a quick Thai fix, but it doesn't quite stand out from the crowd.

Very nice ambiance in here! I was only doing a mobile order so I didn't dine in but I feel like I need to next time! I placed an order for drunken noodles with chicken. This is my go to thai dish. I should have requested it to be spicy. I did ask for some pepper when I picked up my order, which was ready on time. Good service here. Food was good. The pepper helped. Located in Rockville Town Center, this area is very congested. Luckily I found a nearby street parking spot. There's a bunch of nearby.

Pretty solid Thai restaurant in the Square. I did enjoy their Pad Thai with beef and Catfish Dry Curry. I can't tolerate spicy foods as I used to, so the medium spice for Catfish Dry Curry was good, though next time I will get it mild. Their Pad Thai is pretty good - kind of hard to mess that dish up. My wife enjoyed her Claypot noodle dish. The calamari were just okay- the breading kept coming off after one bite, so that was disappointing. The interior is nice and colorful. Will have try other dishes next time. Service was pretty good.

yummy!this is what we ordered all freshly made from orders. Love the appetizer chive cake and the curry and the fried rice. Their fried rice tastes great. casual dining environment with outside tables.

If the interior itself was just something to rate, I would immediately give it five stars. Wow. This restaurant was so colorful and so much to look at where I just wanted to snap photos of it. Located in Rockville Town Square features perhaps the best Thai restaurant I've been to. This place has outdoor and indoor seating where upon arriving I was sat right away and was handed water and a menu. Luckily I already knew what I wanted so I went with Spring Rolls and Pad See Ew, my go to combo. The Pad See Ew, which is a simple dish that is consists of Wok-Fried Fresh Wide Rice Noodles, Chinese broccoli, Egg, Dark Soy Sauce, and White pepper. It is also similar to Drunken Noodles which feature almost the same ingredients but they use chili & basil sauce instead of Dark Soy Sauce. Classic Thai Dish is certainly a must get every time if you like noodles. Anything Stir Fried to me is always a pleasure to eat! The Spring Rolls are pretty much like what you'd expect. Stuffed Veggies with Sweet & Sour Sauce. It is a delicious appetizer to munch on before your food comes out. It was a great decision to check out Thai Chef. Please visit here and definitely make sure to take lots of pictures!

The interior of the restaurant is really funky and fun to admire! I ordered the shrimp fried rice and it was savory and delicious! The shrimp was well fried and I really wished there was more! The fried rice was good but I wished there some bits of meat or small pieces of shrimp mixed throughout. My partner ordered the garlic beef which was good...but we definitely preferred the shrimp fried rice more. I would recommend checking this place out if youre in the area or are looking for a date night out!

Thai Chef has been on my list of places to visit for so long, and I finally made it! As soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted by the host and seated. The space is bright, colorful, and unique. Even the tables and chairs stood out with the colors and patterns. They had a lunch special available, so we all took advantage of that- an entree and non-alcoholic drink for $16. I went with the panang curry with chicken and a Thai iced tea. Both were delicious. The panang curry was VERY flavorful! I also appreciated that parking was pretty easy. The garage directly across from the restaurant was free for the first 90 minutes and then $3.

Lovely looking spot, nicely decorated & clean. This was our first time coming here & only ordered appetizers "small bites" & may have to try again because we were not impressed. We ordered wonton, calamari & Chicken Satay with a peanut sauce. It lacked flavor. The service was good. We were sat pretty quickly but had to place the order because it was the last call for the kitchen. Hopefully next time we will come earlier and try the entree's.

I like Thai food, and the food here was good. I did not eat enough of a variety to make an overall decision. So I will have to go back and do it right. I like the ambience it felt like street food area. The service was good, but I would like to make sure I'm honest about my review.

Another cute restaurant at Rockville town center, so parking is either on the street or in the garage! Nice fun decorations on the inside and plenty of seating on the inside and cute small area for outside seating. The service was standard, nice and helpful and good with the water refills. I got Thai ice tea and grilled pork shoulder for appetizer. The Thai tea is normal/standard Thai tea, good! 4/5 The pork was interesting! It was like a beef jerky vibe yet more tender and had that initial crisp. I'd say that it was mostly tender and good seasoning. The sauce was a chili tamarind, which was similar to like a sriracha spice but sweeter. Overall, 3.5/5 not bad! Worth a try I got the panang curry and it was good flavor! It said it was spicy but didn't really have that much heat to it (kind of wish it was more spicy). The white meat was alright, could've been more tender but decent for white meat. I asked for extra meat and got a ton of extra meat which was great but only 3 broccoli. Overall, sauce and flavor 4/5, chicken a little dry kind of wish I got a different meat. Overall 3.5/5 My friend got the fried rice, she thought it was solid 4/5. It was good! I don't usual order fried rice but it was standard! I'd say it was probably like 3/5 Overall, there's a lot more I want to try! Would come back!

I originally came here because I was craving thai food and because I used to work nearby and I had always wondered what happened to the space. Unfortunately I think that I had hyped this place up in my head so my experience ended up being a little bit disappointing. I came here for dinner on a week night so I had no problem getting a table. The staff was nice but service felt very transactional. They have a two hour time limit for you to sit and eat and considering the fact that this isn't an all you can eat spot (it's just a regular sit down restaurant) I really felt the pressure to hurry up and eat. If the busser wasn't in a hurry to clear my plates from the table (sometimes before I was even done eating) then the server was either trying to get me to order when I wasn't ready (she was asking if I wanted dessert and a takeout box when my entree hadn't even gotten to the table yet) or would pass my table many times when it was easy to see I needed a refill on my water. I had asked about the green pineapple mocktail and it sounded good so I tried to order it but I don't drink anything carbonated so I asked if they could just switch the club soda for lemonade and my server said that they don't do any modifications or substitutions for the mocktails so I just stuck with water. While I can understand why it seems a bit limiting for those who may have dietary restrictions. I ordered the calamari and the rocket shrimp for my appetizers. The rocket shrimp was a piece of shrimp wrapped in a spring roll wrapper and deep fried. There were four pieces in total and the shrimp had no seasoning or flavor. The only flavor came from the dipping sauce which was a sort of house made duck sauce and they were pretty greasy. The calamari was cooked well and not overly chewy. It did have quite a bit of breading and although the flavor of the seasoning was good it was more salty than I can handle. I ended up sending back the calamari and asked for a Tom Yum soup. It was a small portion but it had a good amount of vegetables and three or four pieces of of decent sized shrimp in it (you can choose what protein you want in your soup). The soup had a nice tangy flavor and there was enough spice to taste the heat but not overwhelmingly so. For my entree I ordered the Tom Yum Chicken Fried Rice and asked for the spice level to be mild. You can definitely taste the Tom Yum flavor and the mild spice was just enough for me to handle. I will say that my experience had been disappointing enough to the point where I just boxed up my rice and left because I just didn't want to stay somewhere I am being pressured to hurry up and leave. Unfortunately I won't be coming back here. If I crave thai food again I will go somewhere else.

Chill, local spot for sandwiches and the best onion rings!…read more We went here for lunch after raving recommendations from friends and family. I'm glad we did since it delivered as promised! This place has a vast selection of sandwiches, all served with a side of pickle and housemade chips. Our starters included the tomato soup and onion rings, which were served pretty quickly after our waiter took our order. The onion rings were so crispy and flavorful - the best I've ever tried in the area! Our sandwich orders came out after that, which included the My Thai, Chipotle BBQ beef, and Reuben. Sandwiches were very hefty and quite filling, and I had plenty to take home for leftovers. I would definitely return again for their onion rings and to try another sandwich!
