This is an awesome buffet. Went on a Friday evening, initial line was long but it moved fast. Prices were good for the quality and size of the buffet. The best part of the whole experience at Sirloin Stockade was our waiter Ricardo. He brought our drinks immediately and kept them filled. He's really kind and certainly pays attention to detail. We have not been here in years. Either this place has gone down hill or my taste buds have improved over the years. We stopped here on Easter for dinner. The place was fairly busy but unsure as to why after trying their food. The prime rib was about the only item I half way liked - after applying salt. Their wait staff was plentiful but they do not watch where they are going and if you are not careful, you will get elbowed or pushed by them. Lots of young staff, young teens gathered around the drink station which looked more like a social hang out. The young boy serving the Prime Rib had ear phones in and completely oblivious to the patrons. Now to the food. Bland Bland and more Bland. I dont think much is actually cooked their but rather heated up from the freezer. The potato salad tasted like tartar sauce and the potatoes had the texture like they had been frozen previously. The cheese sauce was more like water cheese. The turkey was not edible and the stuffing tasted more like Hill Country Fare stuffing from HEB. The gravy was overly salted and not very good. The chili looked like an old science experiment gone wrong. The steak had an odd taste - and needed salt. The pizza dough was still doughy. Their ice cream machine was broken and their desserts looked like they threw something together last minute - I didnt even attempt to try these as all of them looked messy and unappetizing. The bathrooms and tables were filthy. I am confused how they stay in business let alone was busy. It was almost as if they catered for the older patrons as most the food was bland - as if to say, hey we dont want to raise your blood pressure so here is some saltless and unflavored food. We've been going there a few times, nothing exceptional. But today's experience for dinner around 7PM was the worst I have had in a restaurant in a long time. Baked potatoes had cooked for so long under their lamps that they were dark brown inside and disguting. We told the waitress who checked with her Manager. They took them out but told us it would be another hour to get fresh ones. Bacon in the salad bar was real, but looked like 2 days old. Not red anymore, more like yellowish brown color. Meat was completely dry (except for the loads of fatty tissue around it). Best came for dessert. We noticed that there was mold growing on their peach pie. When I mentionned it to a bus boy, he took that one piece away. Then the Manager came, tasted the stuff and decided it was bad and threw the whole shelf away. Finally, the chocolate pudding had a weird consistency. My friend tasted it and found it sour. We called the manager, told her about it. She didnt believe us at first, saying it was the normal taste for the sugar free pudding (which it wasn't the sugar free kind anyway). Then we insisted and she tasted it and also decided to throw it away. She barely apologized and didn't offer to comp anything. Now I'm worried that I will get sick like so many other people reported. Honestly the customer service was a little slow, the food was alright, everyone was SUPER NICE. I factor in though it's a buffet during Covid-19. You go down the line and they put things on the plate that you want. Also you can't get your own condiments, drinks etc. so if it is somewhat busy (they do have some tables blocked off to practice social distancing.) so service is expected to be a little slow, because they are LITERALLY doing everything for you. Went here today for the 1st time. First off, Cassy was our server and was very attentive. Cleared the dishes and filled our drinks promptly. Sit in her section! Secondly, the food was great! Been to many buffets and most of the time the selections are old, cold or less than appetizing. The food was hot, tasty and well filled. Excellent choices and the desserts were awesome. 4 stars for breakfast. Outside of traveling to the Highlander in Burnett early in the morning this is now in the top 5 for breakfast buffets. So, on my road trip back from San Antonio, I saw this place outside of Austin. SIrloin? Stockade? How can I lose? The breakfast buffet was like none I have seen before in a restaurant. The scrambled eggs with cheese were REAL. Not some artificial egg product swiming in an opaque fluid. Pancakes, eggs to order, chicken fried this and chicken fried that. Not impressed with dessert nor the number of small children fixing their own plates. I'm glad we were almost done when they came in. There used to be an age requirement for fixing your own plate. Tonight was my first time to try sirloin stockade. I had semi-high hopes after reading several reviews, however, those hopes we're quickly crushed as I surveyed the options that had been cooking under heat lamps for god knows how long. The gravy had a thick film over it, the hush puppies were burned, the macaroni and cheese formed clumps and were hard to break up. I will say that the mashed potatoes were pretty good, though obviously instant. The salad bar was standard, the vegetables were relatively fresh but I was disturbed by the fact that when I went to bite into a chunk of egg-like product it was still frozen and upon further inspection there were ice crystals all over what was left on my plate. Lastly, I decided to try a few of the desserts. The chocolate pudding was similar to snack pack pudding and we joked that there was probably a man in the back squeezing little cups of snack packs into a tub. The banana pudding was bitter and the German chocolate cake was a tasteless brick. My friend tried a Danish filled with a fruit substance but it looked more like a dinner roll covered in jelly. However, the apple cobbler was pretty tasty. The other cobblers did not fare as well. The greatest disappointment came when they delivered my boyfriends rib eye. He ordered it to be medium rare. It came fully cooked and looked more like a pork chop. The place was staffed by high school kids who are probably more concerned with tonight's episode of family guy than servicing people. And I can't blame them, I'd be ashamed to work for a restaurant with such poor quality of food and service. read more

The food was downright nasty. Everything including the desserts were bland. The buffet tables and displays were dirty. The floor was dirty. The chicken flavorless. The fish overcooked. Sirloin meat dry, fatty, with gristle and overdone. Even the desserts tasted like frozen cardboard. Bread tasted of freezer burn, too. The 'freshly brewed' tea tasted like it had been mixed with old tea. The staff was unfriendly and looked bored. First time I have ever left a buffet hungry. Obviously they purchase the cheapest, crappiest and lowest priced food products and pay people off the street who don't know how to cook. I would not recommend this place to a starving dog. read more
