NEGATIVE 1 Star. One of the worst places we have ever been to. We had been to an all day soccer tournament and we were worn out and basically stopped at the first place we found. Big mistake. The food was downright nasty. Everything including the desserts were bland. The buffet tables and displays were dirty. The floor was dirty. The chicken flavorless. The fish overcooked. Sirloin meat dry, fatty, with gristle and overdone. Even the desserts tasted like frozen cardboard. Bread tasted of freezer burn, too. The 'freshly brewed' tea tasted like it had been mixed with old tea. The staff was unfriendly and looked bored. First time I have ever left a buffet hungry. Obviously they purchase the cheapest, crappiest and lowest priced food products and pay people off the street who don't know how to cook. My 4 star rating is for breakfast only. We had dinner here once and hated it. Breakfast is a whole other story. Price is about what you would pay at other places, but this is a buffet that even has pizza for breakfast. If I wanted to be 300 pounds, I would eat here every day. read more

This place is what it is...a feeding trough and a cheap way to feed your large family. Nothing is delicious, outstanding or incredible. However, it is clean, quick, the food is hot, the service adequate and it allows you to over indulge. Wear your elastic pants and put on a feed bag. read more

I took my time to walk around before I started taking some food my best surprise was the Italian station where the cook cooked the pastas in front of the guest Thad Alfredo pasta was delicious its my daughters favorite dish and the brisket. my wife approached to the soup station for some menudo the pot was almost Empty the menudo was not good enough since it was not watery. it was more like old and dry. We ask one of the servers if we can get fresh menudo but it never came out. Then my wife was trying to get some brisket since there was only one small slice of fat for more then 30 min we ask for more but Brett the manager told us the they were cooking and should come out any minute. it took long my wife never got the opportunity to try. Our 3rd disappoint was by 3:30 pm at the time for dessert I went to my favorite dish. bread pudding was a really big surprise bc is the container was Empty I asked the pastry chef and she said she wasn't going to put more out. well I said that's it I have to go for slice of pumpkin pie it was really delicious By the way our waiter VERONICA was really nice and great server to us. read more

Steak buffet with amazing fried chicken! Come for the steak and stay for the Fried chicken - it's amazing! I came here out of boredom because I couldn't decide what to eat. I had Jack Allen's the other day and didn't want to fork out more money - $10 buffet ok! I love eating beef, chicken, pork, lamb whatever - so this place fit the bill. Buffet style - I went around and around and around and got my $10 worth of food. Steak was cooked the way you want and OMG the Fried Chicken is so awesome. I can't say enough about it. We came in for breakfast, buy since it was so late, we ended up passing into lunch. The breakfast wasn't terrible, but the variety (something that is touted) was minuscule. Two types of scrambled eggs, three types of hash browns, country style eggs benedict. Then, the lunch. Less variety there. Mostly fried versions of the same foods (chicken tenders, chicken wings, chicken pieces). They have a dedicated hot dog station, which we never made it to. The bakery was far too small, but the Apple cobbler and bread pudding were passable for me. The fresh fruit was good, but when they passed into lunch, they removed the strawberries in favor of a pea salad. A golden corral might have been a better choice, imo. read more

Worst visit to date. We came in for my mother's birthday. We and my family were moved three times. Nothing cleaned with total chaos on the floor. No food on the buffet. Told the manager on duty I was not happy. I told her I didn't expect to pay for this visit or at least refund half of my ticket. She went to get the owner. He told me if I'm eating I'm paying. No customer service skills what so ever! We have been coming here for years and this is the type of service you can expect from this place. First time at this location. I used to love the San Marcos location, but it closed. We moved to Round Rock and we decided to go try this place. The buffet was ok, several types of Salads to wet the appetite. Then I went back for the grilled steak. I asked for med. Rare and got a generous sized cut of steak. Too bad it was cooked well done and tough as leather. Ok that happens so I put it aside and went back to try again. This time it was cook more medium than rare and was also tough as leather. I was expecting to give this place 1-2 stars, so I was pleasantly surprised. My parents love buffets (they just moved here from Reno, NV) so we all went yesterday to dinner after a lovely day in the sun. I personally don't really care for buffet style food - I'd rather have a small portion of exactly what I want cooked hot and fresh rather than troughs and troughs of mediocre lukewarm fare, but I figured I've give this a try for their sake, and prepared myself to feel sick later (like I did after the 2 chinese buffets we've tried). I was actually very happy after we got there to find a pretty decent salad bar, so the first plate was a gigantic salad, and I even took a chance on their krab salad and it was yummy. I tried the potato soup and the broccoli cheese, and they were both sorta *meh*. I had a bite of the all-you-can-eat steak and it wasn't horrible, but I'm a filet mignon kinda gal so I skipped it. Their spicy sausage was pretty good, their ribs weren't so bad (since it was all you can eat, I didn't feel bad throwing away the fatty bits and the rest was tasty), and their chicken pot pie was actually AMAZING (the rest of the table agreed). They also had a decent selection of vegetables that weren't drowning in butter - so I was able to get my fix. The not-so-good - their deserts were all around bleh. I didn't try the homemade doughnuts, but everything else was very mediocre at best. I ended up noshing on a bunch of jellybeans. Their mac n cheese was flavorless, the brisket was fatty, and I tried a little bit of everything and can't remember a lot of it, so obviously it wasn't that impressive. The service wasn't bad, but we did have to pile our plates on the table next to us, and the last time she refilled my water it tasted like it was mixed with a bit of sprite. All in all, I wouldn't complain about going back once every blue moon (mostly because of the sheer calories ingested, the food was fine), I just would probably eat a little less next time. I waited until today to give a review because I wanted to see if I got buffet gut, and I am happy to say that my bowels are still happy! 3 stars, and I'd even consider extending it to 4 stars after another try (every day is different, they have a italian night, a seafood night, etc). It did make me extremely happy that I don't live in Reno anymore and eat that way a lot, and appreciate quality over quantity. read more

So we decided to come here because the last time we came it was pretty good. Well not so much this time. The place was packed! The food wasn't that good this time, if it wasn't over cooked it was undercooked. The steaks they are famous for were burnt. There was hardly any desserts to choose from. There really wasn't anyone taking care of their food sections. The cooks would come out & replace the old food but wouldn't really clean area. And we walked out of there reeking of steak! I love this place for good food, vegetables, and a good price. But I love the waitress I always get most of all. She is sweet to me but that is not all. In the last fifteen minutes I have seen her go out of her way to help a confused senior back to her table and be extra sweet to a very messy young eater, a disabled little boy dumping food on the floor. My family and I eat here often, mostly on Tuesday nights since kids eat free. I have never been disappointed with anything controllable here. Service is always good and attentive, management does the rounds and makes sure all is well, and food is fresh and tastey. Now, some of the food is a lil bland, but that is buffet life. While traveling back home up we passed Sirloin Stockade and decided to take a chance with their buffet. At first glance the atmosphere and moral of the restaurant seemed kinda low. The food was a toss up. Some of it was taste like their meatloaf and their bar-b-q sausage. On the flip side, items like the fried catfish and even the steaks were fairly horrifying. Most of the food was extremely greasy. Even the salad from the salad bar had an odd taste to it, like it hadn't been washed before it was put out. When it came to the food, the only redeeming factor was their dessert bar. The cheese cake was amazing and the carrot cake tasted fresh baked and moist. One the customer service side, most of the waitress (I didn't see a waiter) stayed hidden behind the soda machines playing on their phones or chatting. I personally sit for about ten minutes without anything to drink. It isn't fair to say all of the waitresses were like that because there were others trying to do everything to keep it running smoothly. Would I eat here again? Only if I had heard that service had changed with not only the food or customer service, but the overall mood of the restaurant. Before COVID this was a nice place for kids and tolerable for the adults, my family actually prefers it over Golden Corral. The selection was pretty weak but what they had was good enough to leave the kids happy and parents having had a decent meal. The downside is that it looks generally dirty and out of date, you can tell they haven't given it a remodel and thorough cleaning in a long time but if you take your kids to McDonalds or whatever then you've probably seen worse on a road trip. The biggest negative was that just like Golden Corral you have to get refills from the wait staff and a good amount of the food is salty so you can go through a lot of drinks and get frustrated waiting for them. After COVID it wasn't as good because they seemed to have lost a lot of staff and they served you at the time we went so you might be waiting a bit more. If it was a great dining experience then it wouldn't matter but because it is a bit rundown you really don't want to be there that long so waiting longer isn't great. read more

Exceptional service creating a really nice dining experience. The food was good and the selection was good. Moreover, it was the people that made tonight great. From Richard the cook, whom went above and beyond for example a Young boy wanted spaghetti and it was not in the menu. Instead of Richard saying its not on the menu he said " let me see if I can find some pasta for you " he found some came back and said let me cook you some meatballs and sauce. It was AWESOME to see this kind of customer service which creates return customers. The assistant manager, Brett made sure that every person in the restaurant was having a great experience as well by talking with each not just asking how their dinner was but asking what he could do differently to improve their experience. Everyone that works here was so pleasant and you could tell was genuinely happy to be here. I was quite impressed with this place. A few years ago when I lived at 51st and Guadalupe, there was a Sirloin Stockade at Koenig and Lamar and I always meant to try it, but I didn't get around to it before they closed. So I drove to the Round Rock location after hearing incessant wonderful reviews from my uncle. I can't tell you specifically what I ate or which foods I liked, but I remember everything I had being good, and I never ran out of iced tea. If it weren't all the way in Round Rock, I'd go back more often. I told my parents I would take them to Sirloin Stockade when they move to Georgetown next month, so I'll update my review at that point. read more

I have liver disease and I'm very sensitive to foods. I've tried Ryan's and I have tried Golden Corral and they both make me sick. Their foods are hard to digest. Sirloin Stockade is one of my favorite buffets. Their selection is enormous which is great for my wife who is a vegetarian. Their breakfast buffet is the king daddy. Everything is constantly being cooked fresh and put out promptly. I worked in the food service industry for over four years and it's probably one of the cleanest establishments I have visited. The staff are friendly and the manager always greets us when we arrive. Made to order omelettes, fresh pancakes and waffles, lots of choices and don't miss out on the hash brown casserole (breakfast only). Kids eat free on Tuesday. ;-) read more

More than likely I will not be going back to this establishment after visting for my first time last night. After reading a few reviews, I thought I'd try for myself and see it was really that great. The service was pretty good but thats all I can say about that place. The food didn't impress me..most of the food looked as if they'd been under heatlamps way too long. The macaroni cheese looked like it had been out there since opening as it was drying under the lamps..the cheese quesedilla was crunchy..also from being out too long..and the veggies didn't even look fresh. A veggie combo of peas, carrots, and beans that must've come straight from a can as it wasn't even the right color of fresh veggies as it looked discolored and pale. WTF? Oh,,and at the end of the dinner sitting, I went off to get my daughter a little ice cream sundae only to be even more disgusted as each spoon I took was dirty. None of the utensils had been washed well as it had some sort of food residue..most looked like they were either not washed well or not even washed at all. Blech! Everything pretty much lacked flavor and was not even worth $20 we paid. I would've rather spent that at either Ryan's or Golden Corral.
