I was in from out of town and the rear derailleur cable on my recumbent broke. I first went to NBX East Providence since they were the closest, they were displaying new TREK signs outside, so I think it was recently bought out. Anyway I was out and about and got to NBX right at opening time, they had a Bontrager Tandem derailleur cable in stock for $29.95. i asked the sales person to double check the pricing and she said that they told her that since it is longer than a standard derailleur cable it was a lot more expensive. I called Sirois bike shop and they had one in stock, same quality, stainless steel, tandem length for $10, so I headed over there. Seems like a good shop, I was surprised to see so many new bikes for sale and the sales guy told me they had stocked up after the Covid started so it would probably be a good place to go to get a bike right now. read more

I'm currently in the parking lot at sirois pissed. I spent 100 dollars on a new rear rim for my bmx bike a couple weeks ago, first ride it immediately the axle broke 2 laps in. I called him over the phone and he told me I have to wait for his brother to warranty it and told me that they don't snap like that. he accused me of having a second person riding on it when I never have done that once on a bike. I called him and he told me word for word " I have a replacement axle " for my rim. I get there and again he tells me he can't help me. I have a professional drone person I hired and I had all new parts on this bike like hundreds and this broke and ended my day at the start. then they refuse to help? look at the pictures to see what I mean. Spent over $700 to buy a bike that came with snotty, patronizing comments from the sales guy (younger Sirois), after the bike was paid for. All I could think of was: the older Mr. Sirois was such a nice guy and decent to all of his customers. What a shame. Would have given zero stars, but this system required at least one. read more

one day turn around on purchasing a bike. they did not have a large framed version of the bike which was right for me. they put it together and called back later in the day to say it was ready. Road the bike the next day and it works great. nice little shop with a pretty good selection of bikes. i needed a men's hybrid/comfort bike and there were a couple to choose from. it wasn't cheap, $600. but then again, it was probably assembled correctly and tuned up. it works great. I would go back there and it looks like it has the loyalty of the local kids as several of them were in and out during the two times I was there. Well, this is probably a great neighborhood/family bike shop, but we went there looking for some solid advice and guidance as we were getting back into biking after 20 years. We wanted to support a local business, so we stuck with them even though we thought we should have been given more attention. The bikes they sold us certainly weren't junk, but maybe might not have been the best choice for us. We also bought a bike rack there to get the bikes home, which is a barely adequate piece of junk. We never questioned the prices, we just wanted good advice. When we did pick up the bikes and asked about a fitting we were told to " just put the seat height where you are comfortable and you'll be all set". We knew that wasn't the right answer but let it go and got help elsewhere because we weren't too happy. When we brought the bikes back to them for the free 60 day checkup, I had to buy a longer seatpost because the stock one didn't insert into the seat tube far enough. That cost me money, and it is something they would have caught had they even attempted to properly fit the bike, and the front derailleur isn't shifting reliably, small stuff ...I know. We didn't get screwed, but we certainly didn't have the experience we expected in trying to support a small local business. read more

Got my first bike from Sirois as a birthday gift in 1993. Second, bigger one a couple years later. That was a Raleigh M20 mountain bike that took some serious abuse from an adolescent me but that held together for 8 years. Got my third and current bike - another Raleigh - in 2003. I don't bike much these days (mostly run), but I wouldn't go anywhere else for a new bike. My fiancée just bought one from Sirois a month or two ago. The guys who work there are knowledgeable and will help you pick out a keeper. read more

Had repairs done to an old bike. Was quoted under a hundred dollars total. Stopped in a day early and was not done- fine( no communication on the project). Came back the next day and the guy added on repairs that were not discussed totaling $150. Didn't argue just paid and got the hell out of there. read more

I feel compelled to post this review after my recent experience with Bob and Joe, the owners. After leaning heavily towards buying a higher end mountain bike that was a deeply discounted 'left over' from 2018, we talked about what I really needed and wanted. After some thoughtful consideration, it became clear that the best fit in terms of suspension and gearing was a slightly lower end model that was actually about $150 less than the 'left over' that was a 'good deal'. So even though it was a current year model at full price, I believe I actually got better deal as with their help, I ended up with the right bike. These guys rock. Why go anywhere else? read more

It's a small shop, but jammed packed with quality bikes for sale. This is a very old family run business that I have known about my whole life. Customer service was great. I went in to shop for a new bike for my 15 year old daughter. We were shown a few options and he answered all of my questions. I went in with the intention of shopping around before I decided on purchasing her bike, but I felt that it was a great deal he was giving me. My daughter test drove the bike and happily left with it. I will come back again for maintaining our bikes and maybe for a new one myself! Once again, I got my road bike tuned up and they said I needed a shift cable as well. Since the bike didn't need much work, they dropped the price of the tune up and only charged $60 for the tune up AND the new cable. It was ready on time and in short order. This bike shop is very good, I'll use them again if I can. read more

I just needed to have my bicycle assembled. I dropped off my bicycle and forgot to ask them how much it would cost. I come back to get it and they charge my $50. Unbelievable. That's double what sports authority costs. Also they guys working there were not friendly at all- not even remotely. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Attempted some tire repairs myself and didn't have the right tools on hand. Stopped by here for some help and was greeted with a friendly hello and a quick fix. In and out in under 5 minutes.
