Because of the sharp eye for detail of the orthopedic assistants in patients' notes and my second call of concern to them about a mistaken prognosis from a prior visit to my baby's hurt knee, I will praise this vet group. They even refunded my prior visit that went towards the surgery costs. My fur baby underwent a TPLO surgery. The doctor and his assistant were incredibly helpful and thoroughly explained what needed to be done. My girl is slowly recovering, and as long as I'm in this area, I'll always go back here. Thanks OVG!

She was about 4 yrs old here

These doctors and staff were the absolute best. You can't possibly get any better care for your furry family member. We had to put our Lovee to rest on Friday. We were beyond broken hearted. They treated us and her with such care. They really do care. No one could ever tell me otherwise. THANK YOU SO MUCH DR. WELCH and the entire staff i wish I could remember everyone's name because they are ALL FANTASTIC.They were so careful to let us have as much b time as we needed with her they could see how much she meant to us.

We drive 45 minutes to bring our pets here and it is so worth it. The front desk staff are polite and helpful. The vets are kind and honest. They are always transparent with pricing. They don't try to overcharge you and are willing to work with you to come up with a care plan that is within your budget without pressure or guilt. I won't ever take my pets anywhere else.

We live in Murphys and switched to OVG last year when our doodle needed her teeth cleaned. They impressed us and we have made them our Lucy's vet for all her needs. July 3rd we took Lucy in for an emergency visit as we could tell something was wrong. We were in Shock when Dr Willis ran tests and informed us she had a burst spleen. This is a very serious thing and not uncommon in dogs. She had a 30% chance of survival. Dr Willis removed her spleen and saved her life! She and the staff at OVG are amazing.

I had been taking my 15 year old cat here for regular checkups since she had issues with UTIs. I know she was getting up there in age so I wanted to make sure everything was ok with her, all her symptoms were blamed on possible UTI related issues and possible start of kidney issues, but as stated by Oakdale Vet Group nothing urgent or immediate. My cat's condition started to worsen and I would be more frequent in my visits. They let me know all her vitals were ok and there was nothing to be concerned about immediately, just running up my bill and putting me in debt. Eventually my cat was in serious pain. We took her over to Oakdale Vet group and they let me know there was fluid in her chest, and did a transfer to Standiford Vet. They let us know she had an extreme progression of cancer throughout her abdomen and they could tell without even running an MRI. We had to put her down immediately the day of to let her have some peace. My concern with Oakdale Vet group is they are just worried about collecting bills and not actually concerned over the safety of our animals. If they had the competency to suggest an MRI when her symptoms started and gradually worsened we would have caught the issue early my cat would still be with me.

My dog, Morgan, had both of his TPLO surgery done here at this hospital. I had an amazing experience with my dog's first TPLO surgery that I knew I could trust Dr. Ned again when my dog hurt his other leg. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and supportive. They made the process so easy and simple. Dr. Ned is an amazing doctor and is one of the vets I trust. I have recommended this hospital to family, friends, and coworkers. Can't thank enough the care they gave to my dog. He has fully recovered and is doing so well! I truly appreciate Dr. Ned and his team. Totally worth the 2hr drive !

Zoe, post surgery. Resting and grateful.

The staff are amazing! Caring. Kind. Happy to help. From the moment we walked in, it's been a great vet experience. Thank you!

I've never been to this vet which makes this even more special with how they took care of me and my Reptar . I had scheduled a euthanasia and private cremation for my sweet senior boy who had cancer and wasn't going to make it through but he actually passed away at home with me the day of the appt . I just want to personally thank the kind staff who helped me carry my sweet boy from my car and was saying sorry the whole time :( I felt your sincerity truly and thank you . It takes about 2 weeks to receive the ashes back , I got them back in 11 days , I'm so happy to have him back home :( the staff were so patient answering my calls and questions , they let me see my sweet boy one more time before being sent off to cremation which they don't usually do but I didn't even get to say goodbye to him with how quick everything happened so they let me which I'm eternally grateful for to have that last bit of time with him :( I left pictures to be cremated with him and they set up all his pictures when I walked in to say my goodbyes and omg I criedddd ! So beyond thoughtful !!! Thank you all for your genuine kindness during this hell time for me . I can't tell you how much it was helpful while my was/is heart shattering . Thank you so much !!! Rest in love to my sweet sweet boy Reptar and thank you for 12 years of solid loyalty and love !! Momma will see you on the other side !!!!

We took our animals here for about 4 years. Dr. Singh is nice, as well as the staff…read more NOW FOR THE NEGATIVE: 1. Their prices are ridiculous!! 2. Many times we took our dogs in they wanted to do a "test." These tests cost money... a lot of times they would have to send them out for readings or results; of course at an extra cost!! By the time we left the bill would be exorbitantly expensive, like $350-500!!! Our furry baby in the picture below, Misty, was diagnosed with a heart murmur when we took her in for a UTI. They did an X-ray and she had bladder stones. Dr. Singh said she needed surgery and wanted to do it the next day. He did state that bcz of her weak heart the anesthesia would be tricky. He said she had a grade 4 heart murmur. He said they are graded on a scale of 3-10. I looked it up, as I was in the medical field for 30 years and found that canine heart murmurs grade from 1-4. If Misty had a grade 4, she was already in heart failure. Dr. Singh minimized the condition of her heart disease, in our opinion. He did the surgery, it took 2 hours. He put her on heart meds, then later he put her on Lasix (a water pill.) She died about 6 weeks later of congestive heart failure. In our opinion, Dr. Singh should have given us the option to put her on an antibiotic for the UTI, the heart med and the Lasix and wait and see how she did. Instead he immediately wanted to do risky surgery in a dog with a weak heart. We paid $5,000 for this operation. And $400 for a post-op visit! We no longer take our animals to Family Vet of Oakdale. Our new vet is great!! His office visit charge was $50. Family Vet of Oakdale charged $130. Enough said ......

Around 8pm on march 21st my cat started having trouble breathing and she started convulsing. She wasn't breathing until my brother would shake her to start breathing again. We rushed her to this emergency clinic but she sadly passed away in my brothers arms in the car just two minutes from the clinic. The team was fantastic. One of the members there who took my cat to the back let us stay there for as long as I needed and didn't judge me for crying loudly. My mother paid $600 in total for my beloved cat to be cremated and to have a clay print of her paws which in my opinion is a great price. About a week(ish) later we got to pick up her ashes and the clay print we were promised and I believe the team went above and beyond. I received a card with the team's signatures and a certificate of cremation.

I am extremely disappointed with the care my mother's dog received at this clinic…read more We brought her in because she was actively vomiting, suffering from diarrhea, and unable to keep down food or water. Despite being fully aware of her condition, the clinic sent her home with oral medications that she was unable to keep down. No IV fluids were provided, and her condition worsened significantly the following day, forcing us to seek care elsewhere. To make matters worse, we later learned that the dosage of medication she was sent home with appeared inappropriate for her small size. As pet owners, we trusted that the medications and dosages being prescribed were safe and appropriate. Learning that there were concerns about the dosage only added to our worry and frustration. What is most frustrating is the lack of communication and accountability. We were under the impression that certain treatments had been provided, only to later discover discrepancies in what was actually administered. We have also been told after the fact that hospitalization was recommended, but that was never clearly communicated to my mother during the visit. Had she been properly informed that her dog's condition was serious enough to require hospitalization, she would have taken immediate action. When we sought a second opinion, we were advised that injectable anti-nausea medication, antibiotics, and supportive care should have been considered given the symptoms our dog was experiencing. Instead, she was sent home with oral medication despite being unable to keep anything down. We attempted to resolve our concerns directly and professionally with the clinic before sharing our experience publicly. Unfortunately, rather than acknowledging our concerns, our request for a refund was denied. Pet owners trust veterinary clinics during some of the most stressful moments imaginable. We expected compassionate care, clear communication, and appropriate treatment. Instead, we were left with a much sicker dog, significant emotional distress, and additional veterinary expenses to address issues that we believe should have been handled appropriately from the beginning. I encourage anyone considering this clinic to ask detailed questions, request copies of all treatment records, and carefully review the care plan and medications being recommended for their pet.

Since my first amazing experience here ... my senior baby Reptar of 12 years passed away 4/24/26 …read more I wasn't going to share my ending experience but out of love and respect for my sweet boy , I'm going to tell it . The mass ended up being mast cell tumor and the cancer had spread giving me weeks left with him . After his first removal 2/26 , the aftercare seemed like they cared , hence the 5 star review . They called after to check up on him , would answer my calls to any questions I had about his healing and such .. healing was going well . Then he got another big mass shortly after close to where the previous surgery was . We scheduled another removal . The 2nd removal and healing process was HORRIBLE . Engraved in my mind and truly traumatized forever .. and then the after care and treatment we both got from the staff , "supervisor" and vet assistants was beyond heartless . He was prescribed carprofen for his pain meds after surgery even though I asked for rimadyl since he's always taken that for pain . the carprofen had lamb flavor in it causing him to have outbreaks and suffering on top of the cancer attacking his body making his time left here more miserable . I couldn't figure out why or if it was the cancer ?? until I found out there was lamb in the pain pill and he's allergic to lamb .. I didn't know it had flavoring nor was I asked anything about allergies to things like that . I thought they were just normal pain pills being prescribed , I'd break half and put it in mashed potatoes or something soft and he'd just swallow it , he doesn't chew medicine ... so that upset me because he suffered for a while until I stopped giving him the pills and he immediately changed behavior and started acting back to normal and all the reactions settled . He was gushing blood and puss out of his new and old incision even though the old one basically healed , it was infected and forcing its way out reopening the healed scar . I called the office scared asking for advice and some antibiotics and Sam the receptionist really really really made this harder on me than it already was . Her attitude , the lack of empathy and respect she continuously showed throughout our interactions over the phone , lack of urgency when I needed to pass on important messages to Dr.Singh , she would refuse and try to give me her own advice FIRST until I was adamant I wanted it passed on ... I spoke to the office supervisor Shay about her actions because how are you the face of the vet/answering phones and have an attitude like that towards GRIEVING patients whose dog is currently dying ?! Ridiculous . Spoke to an employee named Zaire a couple times in replacement of Sam that were unpleasant as well , both need to be retrained in customer service and BOTH lacked respect and empathy ! It got to a point where he was constantly throwing up and I was researching that they can prescribe nausea pills or give a shot for relief , that option was being denied to me because they wanted me to come back in for another transaction "to see if he really needed them" instead of just prescribing my dying dog the pills at Costco for some relief in his final days ... Dr.Singh wasn't in the office for that request so Dr.Berrar according to what the staff told me , that he wouldn't give me anything until I came back in the office even though we were just there the day before and them all seeing the condition he was in . Shay did eventually offer for me to come in for a shot for 1 day relief FOR NOW but I was already so mentally drained after all the fighting , I got him help elsewhere for that . Dr. Singh told me personally in our visit if I needed anything medication wise to send in the request and he'd get on it and I was constantly being shut down while I'm trying to be an advocate and be strong for my dog while my heart was breaking from losing him .. so so discouraging on top of losing my best friend right in front of my eyes . After he passed away , I had so much hurt and anger towards the recent actions of this vet , I HAD to tell Shay EVERYTHING that happened , bawling my eyes out on the phone and eventually letting her know that he had passed away . $5000 later and my dog isn't here anymore , not once did the staff or Dr. Singh reach out with a call , send a card of condolences or anything . This felt very transactional and not genuine AT ALL . My poor baby suffered soooo much his last days and I was doing my ALL to fight for him and get him the help he needed , just for it all to be too late . All I have left to say is .... I hope the staff I dealt with never have such a deep attachment to someone special or an animal the way I did and be treated how I was while I was going and AM going through this HELL time , instead of being comforted and supported . Reptar deserved way more respect and love than what he got from this office , he was nothing but loving to them and a senior boy in his last days . My heart is beyond shattered . Gutted .

We took our cat here and did a bunch of tests and he was ok but had some sneezes. Took him in for a follow up bloodwork a few months later and his ALT liver enzyme was over 600. We saw doctor Pam who recommended shots and a CT scan as "top line treatment" because immediately they thought it was a congenial issue. Spent money on the Ct scan and it was negative but his liver enzymes were still going up. NOT ONCE did they start any treatment but they sure did run more tests. All negative and NOT ONCE did doctor Pam recommend any type of plan other than a $5000 invasive biopsy on our 1 year old cat. The enzymes went up over 1000 and I went online and found out info about steroids on my own since nothing was being done and asked Doctor Pam, who insisted we HAVE to do a biopsy and she had the nerve to say steroids might inflame his liver and it would be too much to give him steroids...but a full liver biopsy is fine? Ok. We got a second opinion and this new vet who actually cares about animals over money started him on an empirical treatment immediately and now his liver enzymes are back to normal a month and a half later...with a steroid called Prednisolone that bypasses the liver anyway. I feel so frustrated. For one, I'm mad she didn't even try to start him on anything, no treatment plan at all cuz they knew we loved this baby and would pay to help him. They messed with our vulnerability. For two, we paid a ton of money thinking we were trusting someone who actually cared, and for three and maybe the most aggravating and upsetting part, we put our little cat through so much and so many treatments because THIS VET told us it was needed it...and almost put him through a biopsy for no reason. Shame on you and the whole practice for valuing money over animals. Go to a vet who actually cares. Doctor Pam and this horrible place only care about your money and not your babies. Never again. The only thing they did do was help us with insurance because God knows they want their money. Unbelievable. Go to Village Oak or Waterford Vet or Animal Medical instead of this money hungry practice. We are lucky we actually still even have our little baby after this.
