This place is good eating with charm. Want coffee refills go get it, want cake with breakfast....we had it. Not sure if staple on Saturday but jackpot today. Lemon cake with lemon icing, but I want to say breakfast was delicious. Today they had cornbeef hash omlete, got salsa and it was great. Big fluffy biscuits and the sausage gravy was a nice creamy texture with non spicy sausage. The owners work the place and locals keep it hopping. On a recent trip through northwestern South Carolina, my GF and I followed the trail of good Yelp reviews to Sister's for breakfast, and I am happy to add my own glowing review to that list. Sister's is a no-frills roadside southern diner near Salem, SC; they have great food, lovely service and delightfully random decor ranging from shelves of books to goofy bad cartoons, and I highly recommend dropping by here for breakfast. To start with, our server called us "darlins," and that was just the start of her wonderful and completely genuine service. She was so welcoming and warm and friendly and took great care of us. We were here specifically for breakfast, because eating out for breakfast is, you know, awesome 'n' stuff, provided that it's done well. Sister's knocks the southern breakfast out of the park--my omelet was excellent, my biscuit was big and fluffy and hot, and good heavens, the GRITS were fantastic! Just plain grits, maybe with a bit of butter or something in them, but they were outstanding. (I was particularly happy about this because the previous morning, at a different restaurant, I was served a bowl of grits that was like eating wet papier mache.) Tried this place since it was bought and managed by new owners. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the small town, southern atmosphere. We didn't try anything other than breakfast (our favorite meal of the day), so it's kind of difficult to mess up. I guess we'll have to go back to try lunch dishes sometime to see if they live up to five stars. Just wish they could be open for dinner a few days of the week. read more

Wow what a pleasant surprise! On our way driving back to Atlanta we were hungry and there is really not much in this area food wise ... The pleasant friendly atmosphere here. was only surpassed by the quality of the cooking. Had the fresh trout and shrimp and grits ... both very well prepared. The 3 Sisters that own and run the business are friendly, efficient, and take good care of you. They add a little Southern Hospitality to their Maine/Massachusetts accents. This is a Special place!!
