Nice Thai restaurant in the Albany and Berkeley border. Went here on a Monday evening. We started off our dinner with the spring rolls. They were piping hot and served in a frying basket on top of a tray. I loved the presentation of it with a banana leaf and parsley. The spring rolls were very crunchy and filled with vegetables and noodles. The taste was pretty good and not too salty. The dipping sauce was a sweet and sour chili sauce. It paired well with the spring rolls. We got 4 rolls. The pad Thai was very delicious. I loved its presentation with the garnish of spring onions and bean sprouts. Along with the wedge of lime, the vibrant colors just popped out to us. Loved the overall flavor of the dish. The pad Thai wasn't too overwhelmingly sweet and the noodles were nice and chewy. We opted for the beef as our protein of choice. It was nice and tender and flavorful. I enjoyed the tofu and bits of egg in this dish. The addition of bean sprouts and spring onions gave the dish a wonderful crunch. The peanuts were a pleasant touch to the dish. Nice flavor and texture. The Kao Soi was an excellent curry noodle dish. I enjoyed the sweet and creamy coconut-based curry sauce. I can taste the ginger, garlic, and chilies in it. The spice level was not too bad. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but once I got a few more servings, I was able to tolerate the burn. I loved the presentation of this dish. It also came with fried noodles and two dried chilies. Loved the egg noodles with its texture and how it soaked up the curry. The dish also had a juicy chicken thigh. Excellent flavor and pairing. The pickled mustard green was good with its acidity. It gave the dish another wonderful flavor profile. Pretty enjoyable dish, especially if you like spicy food. I wasn't sure if this was a medium spice. We ended our dinner with a Thai iced tea. It was nice and refreshing. Served with ice inside a mason jar. The tea was good. Just sweet enough and very necessary to wash down all of our delicious food. Service was excellent. Our server was very courteous and efficient. She made sure our visit was a very pleasant one. It was comforting knowing that she filled up our waters every so often. Our dishes came at a very timely manner. The ambiance was nice. Pretty chill setting. Loved the decor inside the restaurant. Very clean and well maintained. The parking was not too bad. Just park by the side to a meter. Lucky for us, it was after 6 pm and parking was free. Overall, wonderful experience at Sistory Thai Kitchen. This was a cute and fairly quiet brunch spot. I dined here solo and it was nice because it wasn't super crowded and the inside was so aesthetic! Unfortunately, the cons of dining solo are that I can't try as many dishes, so I settled on the Thai Tea Pancakes. These were very pretty and also unique, which is why I got them, but I regret not being able to try some of the savory dishes here. I liked the pancakes and found them to be super fluffy, but they were really sweet with the syrup and I also didn't find the syrup to be that similar to thai tea flavor. I think these would be good to share but it was too sweet to have by myself for breakfast. Still, the quality is clearly excellent here and the spot is so nice, I definitely want to come back and bring friends/family to try more :) read more

Wrong order and plastic in my food. Tried calling in an order after their online ordering platform wouldn't accept apple pay or either of my credit cards, a person picked up, mumbled something, then disappeared. Waited a few minutes then hung up to try online again and had the same issue. Called again but this time no one picked up and was sent straight to an out of storage voice mail and disconnected. Tried again online and the order finally went through. Went to pick it up, and the order had the right label (beef pad see ew). When I got back to my apartment, I opened it up and it was chicken. I checked my receipt and confirmed I paid for the beef. I said whatever, let me just eat this since I have stuff I have to get to. The food was some of the most bland and unseasoned Thai food I've ever had. Chicken was extremely dry and unsalted. Noodles were pretty good texture, but not flavorful. All I could taste was black pepper. The Chinese broccoli had an extremely chemically flavor that I've never had with Chinese broccoli. Not bitter, just a strange chemical taste. Finally, when I was halfway through eating it, I picked up a piece of egg and was surprised to find it was plastic. Would 100% never return here. Judging by the other reviews about sanitary conditions, I'm astonished this place has such a high rating from Yelp, Google, and the Infatuation. read more

I'm such a fan of Sistory Thai Kitchen! Let's start with the ambiance: For the holidays, they are going ALL out. There's Christmas decor everywhere and a Christmas playlist. This is the most "wintry" it's felt in the East Bay. It helps because the inside of the restaurant is small and cozy. Their food is also fantastic. I've ordered dinner to go and recently tried their brunch menu. I highly recommend the SF Island Scramble if you want something unique with an Asian flair. The shrimp and crab meat are absolutely delicious! And, if you come in person, you have to try their cocktails. I ordered the February 15 and Thai Tea Tini. All cocktails are $9-12 which is a steal for the quality and creativity. Finally, the employees were so nice and sweet. They did a great job taking care of each table. Sistory Thai is such a cute and delicious spot for brunch! This is my second time here and I loved the Kanoom Jean Nam Ngew as usual. My friends ordered the Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, and Pineapple Fried Rice! Everyone enjoyed the gorgeous ambiance and the beautiful and refreshing drinks. I've tried the lemonades, the Thai Iced Tea, and the spritzer, and have to say the spritzer is definitely the best! It's my favorite - subtly sweet and very bubbly with carbonated soda water! As pretty as a cocktail using the butterfly pea flower violet color, without any of the alcohol. A solid brunch place nearby Berkeley! The Thai tea pancakes were phenomenal. The pancakes were fluffy and not overly sweet, and the cereal added the perfect crispiness. A must-order. We ordered the pancakes as a combo, so it came with eggs and bacon, but they weren't anything too special. The Kao Mok Kai was decent. I have had Thai food countless times and it never disapppointed until last night. First red flag was the lack of cooking smell when we entered, but rather an old cleaning product smell. The second red flag was finding a black hair in my soup (!) The tofu was so old it was all wrinkled and had deflated. Curry puff was ok Pad thai was the worst i ever had; the tofu presented the same evidence of being reheated many times, but also because the noodles over time had absorbed all the sauce, they had poured new sauce to "refresh" it and it was overly saturated. The one star is for not having food poisoning. read more

We both left feeling like this may have been some of the worst Thai food we have ever had. No one in our entire party finished their food. My salad was drowning to the point the extra dressing at the bottom of the bowl filled an entire water cup when I poured it out. Both my mom and I love Thai food because they use the freshest and most vibrant veggies. We both left feeling like the veggies tasted off and definitely were not fresh. Parking is a hit or miss on certain days, but the food at Sistory Thai Kitchen is amazing. I live in walking distance, so I keep myself to only get it once a week. There is limited outside seating, if you have a dog or just want some sun with your pad see ew (which is my favorite noodle dish there). Everything tastes fresh and is made with care and good ingredients. Love both the pad kee mao and pad see ew for dine-in or take-out. The Yum Moo Krob is basically a pork belly larb, and it is AMAZING. Please note it has a good amount of fish sauce, so be careful where you open it up. The Beef Curry is tender and saucy and it is a rice stealer. Overall, decent prices, amazing food and if you need to park, there is a dollar store lot across the street. read more

I've been to this restaurant 3 times and this last time was the most disappointing. The first time was just ok. The second time was on the weekend so we tried their brunch menu which was pretty good. This last time I went really made me not want to go back. I normally wouldn't write a bad review for a small business as I want to support them. However, I feel that maybe in this instance it may help the business to improve. I was actually there a couple weeks ago and just decided to write the review now. We were there before the restaurant opens so we were their 1st and only (while we were there) customer. I ordered an eggplant stir fry and my husband ordered the kao soi. The food came out relatively quick which was nice. However, my dish at most was luke warm! Parts of my eggplant stir fry was cool to the touch and my rice was not steaming hot but warm. I had to ask them to warm up my food which I'm sure they just popped it in the microwave. I didn't think about it till later and wondered if I was just served leftover food! I guess I would have been more understanding if it was busy and the food was left sitting waiting for someone to bring it to me. But there was literally no one else in the restaurant and the phone was not ringing with orders to come in. read more

Really lovely little Thai restaurant. Made a reservation for dinner for 7 people and they were very accommodating. Nice indoor space with a good breeze from the door if you're worried about air circulation. We are all vegetarian and our waiter was able to let us know which dishes we could order. It was unfortunate that only the yellow curry was vegetarian of the curries and none of the soups were vegetarian either. We enjoyed the spring rolls which were fresh and flavorful! The curry puffs were good but the filling was still a little cold. The spicy basil and eggplant dishes were similar but yummy and they were able to add veggies and tofu to it for us. Nina and I met here today for lunch and our experience wasn't as good as the two previous times. They have instituted lunch specials for $19.99, which isn't a problem. The lunch specials allow you to choose from several starters, several mains and several drinks. The problem was that all the drinks are cold. It's been unseasonably cold and I wanted hot tea like I had had previously. The problem was their inflexibility in meeting that request. I asked the server to ask the owner, who refused. We ended up w/ hot water to drink, but it should not be an impossibility to switch from a series of cold drinks to a hot one. We both ordered fresh rolls, although there were other choices I found intriguing, like wings and spring rolls. I ordered pad see euw, which I hadn't had in several years because Alan couldn't eat it due to the sodium content. I ordered it w/ chicken. Nina ordered garlic noodles w/ chicken. Evidently she had to choose between chicken and vegetables. Happily, my dish had both. They came beautifully plated and a generous portion. In addition to the starter and main there was a delicious salad w/ a lovely vinaigrette. The entire meal filled a large plate and I thought it was worth the price. Fantastic new women-owned Thai spot in Berkeley! We loved everything about our dinner experience here. The brick-walled interior is super cute and vibrant with its colorful plates and flower vases. They have so many great dish options so it was hard to choose what to order! The descriptions they provide on their menu are super helpful though. I saw a Tik Tok about this restaurant and knew I wanted to check it out! The food was not only beautiful but tasted delicious. Here's what we ordered: * Mango Mousse Cake w/ Vanilla Ice Cream - Great texture and quite sweet! * Thai Tea Pancakes - Fragrant and unique! The pancakes were also sweet but not too sweet. * Curry Puffs - A flaky appetizer with a delicious filling. To top it off, the puffs came with a curry-flavored dip. * Kanoom Jeen Nam Ngew - This dish is made up of vermicelli noodles in a pork rib and shrimp paste stew. The stew was flavorful with a mix of sour and spicy flavors. We actually ordered the dish with mild spice but it was still pretty spicy. They served some of the best Pad Kee Mao I've had. We had it with chicken and the flat noodles were saucy and spicy. The chicken was thin and delicious. 5/5 The fried spring rolls were very good. Noodles and cabbage with a soothing white pepper flavor. Comfort food. 4.5/5 The Tom Kha soup was a disappointment. It came with raw veggies piled on top (carrots, broccoli, onions, etc). I've never seen that before. And the size of the bowl and amount of broth made it so we couldn't really cook the vegetables much. Some of them did soften a little during dinner. One of the best parts of this soup is when the cooked veggies soak up the broth but that wasn't the case here. Plus, some of the veggies were left larger than the bowl you use to eat the soup which made for awkward consumption. And please leave out the halved raw grape tomatoes. That's a really bad flavor combination. The broth itself was decent and spicy but missing some of that rich flavor you'd expect from this soup. 3/5 The restaurant has a cozy look but the door didn't always close all the way as customers entered so the tables near the front were a bit on the chilly side. read more

The food was absolutely delicious and the aesthetics and presentation was even more on point! I went to brunch with me and my friends and we tried 8 dishes and all were so good! My favorites were the thai pancakes and the pork belly with veggies (not pictured). Their drinks were also so yummy, the melon lemonade and thai tea were my faves. The atmosphere and service was also top tier - everyone kept making sure we had enough water, checked in at the appropriate time to make sure everything was good and was just so nice and sweet overall!
