They seem to not want to take each others commissions so just tell that guy that Joe is helping you and they usually back off and leave you alone. After years of watching their commercial on TV, I finally visited this place. I bought two mattresses from Bob. Bob is a very knowledgeable guy and he knows his stuff. I highly recommend you ask for him when you walk in. I bought a hybrid mattress from him and came back 2 weeks later and bought a memory foam mattress. He hooked me up big time. I really wanted to buy the Tempurpedic mattress but after spending hours in their store, I was convinced that it just wasn't worth the 400% price increase over another brand. Seriously after you lay there, unless you constantly stroke the bed like a puppy, you won't be able to tell. Even the hybrid mattress felt great. David came up to us and started getting to know what we like in firmness. We layered on several beds until we liked the one that was just right for us. He was very good. Bob Emmons is THE BEST. My husband and I shopped at different Sit N' Sleep stores all over the Long Beach and Cerritos area but we just had to go back to Bob. We went into the Cerritos Store to look for a mattress for our son. David Mackey was prompt to see if he could be of help. He was quite knowledgeable and really helped us in making our decision. We were only there for 30-45 minutes and wound up with a great bed at a reasonable price, bought and paid for. He said they could deliver it the very next day, Saturday, perfect! He said the delivery time would be 11:30 - 2:30pm. The Operations Team, Kevin and Fernando called at about 9:30am and said they were running early and they could be at the house in 15-20 minutes. The delivery guys of Truck 96, Carlo and Fernando, were great. But the disappointment was the delivery department in general. I ordered TWO separate mattresses for two different locations in Long Beach, within 3 miles of each other. They got the times so mixed up that instead of having both delivered one after the other, I had to run last minute to one location and forced my husband to stay at the other to wait. Additionally, they did not leave a message the night before as to delivery window, as we were told by the salesman. The confusion and aggravation could have been eliminated. Very very frustrating. I'm not sure I would go back to SitnSleep because of this but the two aforementioned delivery guys did do their best for their one delivery. read more

So we've been sleeping on a crappy futon for over 5 years. Instead of spending money on a mattress, we've been saving up and buying other things for our home. But the time had finally come, where we could go purchase a REAL bed. This was a big deal for us, so this review will be just as big of a deal. We spent a few weeks researching mattresses (different types, styles, materials, benefits, pros, cons, statistics...) and figuring out a budget, and decided we were ready to go in to make the purchase. This store did *not* have "The Best Buy Effect" (TBBE). What is TBBE? TBBE is when you enter a store, and don't even have two feet in the door when out of the blue, annoying employees start cornering you, hurling question after question at you: "HIHOWCANIHELPYOU??" "DOYOUNEEDANYHELPTODAY??" "DOYOUHAVEANYQUESTIONS?!" This happens mostly in Best Buy stores (hence the name), but did *NOT* happen at Sit 'n Sleep. Upon entering, no one rushed to our side right away. We got a few minutes to walk around and take in the selections before the store manager, Omar, approached us. He was genuinely friendly, and asked us if we needed any help. The first thing I told him, was our budget. I was firm on not straying away from that number. He assured me that we would definitely be able to find something in that price range, but wanted to "measure" the BF and I on this machine thingy to see what kind of comfort level/support we needed. The machine thingy was a bed, hooked up to sensors and monitors. It only took 3 minutes, and began with us lying on our backs, after that was measured by the computers, we were instructed to lie the way we do when we sleep. Again, measurements were taken. Afterward, we were shown where we both lay on the spectrum from super-soft mattresses, to ultra-firm ones (with corresponding colors.) The BF and I were almost identical, in the firm/ultra-firm range. Our colors were red, red/blue, and blue. So Omar proceeded to take us around the store and show us mattresses that were labeled with red, blue, or red/blue tags. Keeping our budget in mind, he asked us how we felt about memory foam, (we hate memory foam,) so he kept those out of our options. He started below our budget, showing us a really cheaply made mattress; it was awful. Then he moved us to a slightly more comfortable mattress, which was ok. And then finally, had us try a nice mattress, which was wonderful. He left us alone for a few minutes to talk about what we had tried out. We both were really happy with the last mattress, and when Omar returned, he asked us if we wanted to continue trying out mattresses. We did not, we were sold on the last one. Good news! It was on sale! It had been originally $999, but was marked down to $699 for the Memorial Day Sale. NICE. (This included the box spring) We proceeded to fill out all the paper work, and because the mattress had to be ordered, we had to wait 5 days for it to be delivered. (Oh, that was another great thing: FREE DELIVERY!!) The mattress arrived on time, with everything perfectly new. The whole time, Omar was really respectful and patient, answering all of our questions and keeping our budget in mind. He didn't try to up-sell us, or convince us that our budget wasn't big enough, or try to make us go over-budget. I would strongly recommend this Sit 'n Sleep location, just make sure you get Omar! read more

Came into Sit' N Sleep this evening with my girlfriend. Our old mattress have been giving us back pain and it was time for a new one. Walked in and was instantly greeted by David Mackey as you get to know him as Dave. He greeted us and asked what kind of beds we had in mind, I had been reading about those Purple or Casper beds, and he showed us some with the same concept but better. The first bed was almost our clear winner, we liked it had some cooling feature and comfy. I was embarrassed cause we had a budget but Dave made it work, he showed us some very good, I went with one a bit out of my budget because I did not know there was a sale going on, and it pretty much brought me back to where I was at originally. We bought a $3,000 mattress ($5,000 total with everything) from here almost 2 years -ago with a lifetime warranty. Right away we noticed the mattress had dips in it. I called to let them know they said the dips had to be 1 1/2" deep. I let this go on until the mattress looks like it had an island in the middle of it with slopes on both sides. I called again this time they sent someone from the warranty company to inspect it. They advised us that the dips are only 1 1/8" deep. They advised us to keep sleeping on it & call back in 90 days explaining the dips should be deeper by then. SERIOUSLY??? So, they basically know their mattress is defective and expect it to get worse. So now we'll play the waiting game. Horrible warranty! read more

BEWARE OF SIT N SLEEP's DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS: We purchased a Sherwood mattress from Sit N Sleep and in less than two years the side of the mattress is caving in and you can feel the mattress spring on your back when you lay in the bed. My Fiancé and I have both been experiencing back pain and restless sleep by sleeping on this defective mattress. We contacted Sit N Sleep and they sent out what they so call a mattress inspector to take a look at the mattress, WHICH HAS A 10 YEAR WARRANTY. We did not receive a copy of the mattress inspection report, but received a letter from Sit N Sleep claiming that the mattress defects were actually considered normal wear and tear. Sit N Sleep does not back up their products and my family and I will never do business with them ever again. I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU AND YOUR FAMILY STAY CLEAR SIT N SLEEP. read more

Most disappointing purchase ever! The sales part was ok like most mattress stores you can try the mattresses and so on... however, the delivery was not as expected!! 1) I did not received the called the night before to give me the delivery window, as I was told by the sales person. 2) When I called the delivery department I was told that the delivery was scheduled for that day but, they forgot to put the mattress on the truck!!! I was expecting for them to apologize and deliver the merchandise at a later time frame that day....well I was WRONG. The person in charge of the delivey department said that it wasn't his fault that it was the salesperson fault for not noticing the delivery date! ---well....may I remind him that he had already stuck his foot in his mouth by confirming the delivery 1 minute before!!!:| His response to their mistake was "well, we cant deliver today. Maybe Friday morning because we are busy tomorrow." 3) I went out of my way again and contacted the salesperson. She tried to do as much as she can but got no where. Her respose and the supervisor response was "maybe one of the drivers from the delivery department is willing to do another delivery at the end of the day" May I add that this was after they kept me waiting for hours with no clear answers. After trying the bed by number place nearby, and being pushed to provide an address for a quote that I didn't want, I went to Sit and Sleep. Well, my mattress wasn't FREEEEEE, but the selection and service was awesome. Personally, I wasn't into the air mattress bounce we first saw at the number place, although one at $3500 (or more, I think) wasn't bad. But we did love the new springless options and SNS. Nicole was instrumental at helping us through the scan process and narrowing our search. She was totally cool and respectful with our time and let us chill often on several mattresses. Very laid back-NO pressure. AND, the price was VERY competitive compared to other stores and even Amazon. I would recommend you go there and ask for Nicole. She made it all happen and knows her stuff. A year later. Great store. But I do not recommend the Serta iComfort. The foam density is just not right. I realized I forgot to follow-up. It took another 2 trips to finally complete my order. Last trip was the guys going back to the warehouse to finish looking for hardware to complete my frame. Then I had to call the store manager to have them fix an issue with the full size box spring versus the low profile boxspring since the with the full size was up to my waist and I'm nearly 5'9" tall. This process took an additional week and a half. The store manager did what he could to fix the issues I had, which was great. The problem still goes back to the warehouse and their lack of quality checks. I'm giving this 3 star because the store manager and delivery guys did what they could to correct the issues I had with my bed. read more

Bought two beds from here. One is a extra firm beautyrest and the other is a sherwood 12" visco memory foam. The beautyrest went to my girlfriend and we loved it when I used to stay over at her house a lot. However, I wanted a new bed so I bought this "Sherwood" 12" visco memory foam bed which the sales guy, kept assuring me the future is foam, and that this is the best bang for the buck in comparison to Tempurpedic. And he kept going on and on about how it's 5lb density foam and all that. For the first 3 months the Sherwood mattress felt great, but had fumes, but I can live with that. After 6 months, the memory foam just didn't provide any more support. It's been almost 2 years now and although the bed is plush when you first lay on it, it just doesn't have enough support. $700 bucks down the drain. Not Sit 'n Sleep's fault but they shouldn't be marketing and telling you what's BEST for your back. Only you know what's best for you so don't listen to these sales guys telling you what you should buy and how doctors say firm beds are bad for you. Just buy what's comfortable and definitely don't buy too plush beds either. All beds will break-in and start to sag/sink a little bit. So you'll need to compensate for that. I've gone to Orthomattress now to purchase a new Beautyrest Ultimate Firm since they were offering it at a great price. read more

My husband and I already had a good idea what we wanted before we went into the store. We were greeted by David Mackey and he proceeded to show us what we were interested in. We have a 9 year old Tempur Pedic and were interested in the new cool technology. David had all the information we needed and left us alone for a while to try the different mattresses. He even told us if we were side sleepers to make sure we tested different sleeping positions. We were there on Tuesday morning and our new mattress was delivered at 8:10 this morning.
