This was one of the smoothest easiest shopping processes I have yet to encounter. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by an associate Danny Shebat. Danny is a very honest and nice person. He helped me select the type of mattress I wanted based on the price point and quality I was looking for. Originally I was looking for the Nectar sleep mattress, but ended up getting the Leesa mattress, which has a better feel and at a slightly cheaper price. The best part is I received the mattress literally two days later. There was no delay in the delivery and that was also a very smooth process, with them hauling away my old mattress. The same morning I slept on my new mattress, I woke up with significantly less back pain then I would normally. That's just after one morning. I am very pleased so far. I had been sleeping in the same cal-king beautyrest bed for over 20 years. I was a firm believer in, "if you flip your mattress every 6 months, it will last and last." My bed was awesome. I loved it. However, I had to finally come to the realization, it was time to downsize. I plan on moving and the residential economy out here is HORRIBLE! Rents are excruciatingly high. In order for me to live a decent life, I need to move into a smaller place thus, I needed a smaller bed. I walked into this Sit 'n Sleep ready to buy. I didn't want to waste my time nor the salesperson's time, so I had my questions and budget ready. The first question, "Do you deliver to Pasadena?" The answer, "Yes." The second question, "Do you remove the old mattress for free?" The answer, "Yes." Next up, "This is my budget and I'm looking for a queen bed. This is my budget for the mattress, box spring, AND frame." His question, "Firm or soft?" My answer, "Firm." We went to walking. Ali, the store manager, took me to a queen-sized Serta that was NICE. However, at my budget, with a $1 to spare for the frame, I liked it but didn't love it. Then, he took me to a Five something bed, drastically lower in cost. I liked it but didn't love it either. It felt the exact same as the Serta. I was then told that mattresses aren't made to be flipped anymore. UGH - FOR SHAME! My pole sister was with me and she was full of her own questions for Ali. Between the two of us, I think we gave Ali a good Sunday morning memory to share at a family dinner. We were full of sarcastic comments as well. So was Ali. His sense of humor was PERFECT! I walked away with a firm, complete queen-sized bed costing me $36 over budget. I've had it about a week and I like it. I realized I can't love it. It's not my cal-king and it's just too small for my taste. I looked at the cal-kings while shopping and realized, they just don't make beds like they used to. The cal-kings of today are smaller. Even when the delivery guys came for my bed, they said it was too big and heavy. The queens of today are smaller. A queen and a full now differ by 6 inches. SIX INCHES!!!! What's the point??!? I am pleased with my purchase and pleased with my buying experience. I'd recommend this location as long as you deal with Ali. Usually sales people are overly nice and attentive, right? Not at this place. We walked in fully intending to buy a mattress, but no one would help us. Someone greeted us after a while, but we were completely ignored otherwise. We finally gave up on trying to get some help after about 30 minutes of waiting awkwardly next to the mattress we wanted to purchase. At one point, the salesman walked right past us as we said "we like this one" but he didn't stop. We ended up walking across the street to Ortho Mattress and what a world of difference. We bought a mattress on the spot from them and even went over our budget. Their customer service was incredible! You guys lost out on a sale that was pretty much guaranteed. Sit 'n Sleep may be the worst mattress company out there. I purchased a mattress from the Sit 'n Sleep located on Central Avenue in Glendale, California last year and the sales rep was completely negligent in informing me that I needed a box spring and cover for my mattress in order for my warranty to be intact. Fast forward to this year. I called the warranty company to come inspect our mattress because my wife and I had been experiencing back pains for months. After the inspection, it was revealed that our mattress had an indentation of 1.5 and 1.75 inches on each side of the mattress. However, the warranty was not applicable because a) I did not have a box spring supporting the mattress and b) there was no cover on the mattress, which resulted in a minor stain. If the sales people at Sit 'n Sleep had initially informed me of these requirements, I would have purchased them in order to keep my 10 year warranty afloat, but they did not. To make matters worse, the Sit 'n Sleep reps on the phone sold me on the idea that if I bought a box spring from them, then our mattress and its indentations would self-correct itself. That was a month ago and the indentations are still very much a problem. In short, not only were the sales rep lacking in knowledge - to let their customers know what was needed for the warranty (or it was done on purpose so warranty could not be applied), but they turned around and sold me another product (box spring) by promising it would solve the indentation problem in the mattress, which it didn't. In sum, our experience with Sit 'n Sleep has been a horrendous one. Not only are their sales rep people negligent, but overall, the company just cares about making money. They do not have their customers best interest in mind. Sit 'n Sleep will never get my business again. read more

Knowledgeable salesman, told us some things we hadn't heard or thought about. Easy sales experience, even with competition around, good price also. BUT like Greg K. I had a terrible problem with delivery. They switched our delivery date from thurs to Fri without calling us. Then changed from Fri to Sat, also without calling us. This was one of the strangest experiences that we've ever had with a large purchase. They were really trying to upsell their scientifically accurate mattress matching test which is total BS. go with what you feel is right for you. These stupid things that promise they'll fit you with the right mattress aren't going to accurately determine your experience. We were in a little bit of a hurry to try and get a good deal on Memorial Day for the sale and we ended up getting a really crappy mattress. When we try to return it and work with their exchange only policy, we were treated miles differently from the first time that somebody was all smiles and happy to get something sold. We didn't know that we could get a better deal on a mattress until we went to another store location. The people there were much more honest and helpful. We went back to the other store because we thought maybe we should be considerate to the person who initially sold us a mattress, but this turned out to be the entirely wrong thing to do. This person had an ego sh**fit asking us who this other helpful person was and telling us that this other person didn't know what they were doing could get fired for being so incompetent. It all ended up costing us money we would have not had to forfeit had we not stepped into this location. Do yourself a big favor. Don't step foot in this place. They seem to have let their commission-based careers suck all the marrow of decency, empathy, and professionalism right out of them. I hope the returned mattress (sanitized) blesses another person who actually benefits from getting an excellent resell price and having it. We kept it sealed in a waterproof mattress protector with a several inch thick mattress topper. We're happy with our new mattress. read more

Recently I purchased another mattress from Sit n Sleep, but after two months it developed several large lumps. I called customer service and was not pleased with the response I received, but was told that a supervisor would contact me. After two days the supervisor called and even though I had goofed up and removed the labels she arranged to pick-up the mattress and gave me another one at no charge. All she had me do was put a plywood slat under the new mattress. She was extremely pleasant, professional and charming and I couldn't have asked for a better ending. Had a great experience here today when hubby and I were shopping for a new mattress set. We worked with Ali, one of the shop managers, who was extremely helpful and funny without being pushy. He had a lot of great suggestions to help us in making our mattress selection. The store also had a large variety of mattresses, as well as reasonable financing options. We ended up settling on a Seely mattress which will be delivered to us on a day of our choice, free of charge. They also offer to take away your old mattress and properly dispose of it. Walked in with my parents, we were in the market for 3 beds. Saw a female employee at a desk, I walked past her and was never greeted, she looked like she was in a hurry to leave. A man was assisting a couple and we continued to test beds. I had started my timer and by this point we are 12 minutes in and still no greeting. We continue to shop, a woman walks in through the back entrance and was greeted immediately. She was taken to a desk to address her inquiry. At that point it was 16 minutes on my timer and we decided our business was not needed here. A man walks up to me to tell me he would be with me shortly, at this point I no longer wanted to wait since another customer was being serviced ahead of me. I went in a little guarded about salespeople in this industry but he quickly helped me understand my needs, was very patient with my questions and was actually fun to hang out with. I spent more money than I planned but it's been so worth it. It's been a few months now and I still love it every time I go to bed. "you could do better!" Walked in and the place was like a graveyard.. Looked around for about 15 minutes before an employee actually came asking if I needed any help, "Hey, your eating your lunch, I'll just continue doing what im doing." Actually, she was pretty rude... I was looking for some pillows and I asked her to help out my brother with a mattress and she stated "oh, your together?" I replied yes.. she asked again " are you with this group?" and I replied in a sarcastic tone "YES".. honestly, how many times does it take before you get it??? her last comment was "you don't need to be rude about it?" dude, your a sales clerk, you shouldn't even respond in that tone! They are not working for a better tomorrow, they are not working to help you out. The prices are all altogether way to expensive, I believe that they believe that if you put a high price on them it makes it a better mattress?? The bed stores across the street have by far the best prices on the block. This place must be a front for narcotics or something because the workers project a more community service type attitude than what the job entitles. The reason we went was because there was an advertisement for a 100 dollar mattress, one of the sales clerks stated that he never heard of that before and the other troll said that sometimes corporate or whatever makes these mistakes??? Really?? they are putting down the marketing team??? and thus they took us over to the 1k area.. and thats where our trip to county ended. the end :) read more

We recently purchased a Stearns and Foster mattress with an adjustable base from Chris Hyland and Danny Shebat at the Glendale store. We were very impressed by the information they provided about different mattresses, without any sales pressure. After the purchase we needed several adjustments to our bed and when we called them, they were very responsive and they immediately scheduled their truck drivers to do the fixes per our requirements. this review is entirely based on the amazingly poor customer service i received here. I'll preface by saying that I not only got a decent price on the bed that i wanted. What ruined my experience here and frustrated me so much was the delivery. I had just moved to the area, and was moving from a furnished temporary place into my permanent apartment, so i needed a bed before i moved in. The reason we went with Sit N Sleep instead of their similarly priced competitors was because they could deliver on a tuesday evening between 4 pm and 8pm. We were very clear that we needed delivery at that time in order for us to purchase from them. Fast forward to the day before delivery, and i get a confirmation call to tell me that i was confirmed for a tuesday morning delivery. Now the nature of my job does not allow me to take tuesday morning off. When i called our sales rep at the store to get to the bottom of things is when things reallyhit the fan. He explained to us that they were changing some sort of computer system and that they werent doing delivery's on that tuesday evening, but if i needed, i could push my delivery back to the following monday. This would mean no place to sleep for 6 days. Awesome. I then tried to find out what exactly happened as I was also scrambling to find out how to get delivery of my bed. the sales rep would only tell me that no one made a mistake, he just didnt have all the information when he made the sale. I then asked to speak to his manager, only to find out that he was the manager. The manager offered no apology, there was no attempt to remedy the situation, and no sympathy. In fact, all he would do is just insist that neither he nor sit n sleep made a mistake, despite the fact that i was sold a tuesday evening delivery, when a tuesday evening delivery was impossible according to him. This was a horrible experience all around, and their customer service was terrible. read more
