Reviews for summer 2026 are not looking good! Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Concord has been around a very long time, so I get that things might be a little old and run down. We went for our grandson's birthday celebration with his friends. Thankfully, my son rented a cabana facing the wave pool. There was more private space to lounge and relax. I highly recommend getting a cabana for that reason. Otherwise, you'll be sitting in rows of plastic chairs. No outside food is allowed in the waterpark, so food lines are long. Food and drink prices are high for the quality you get. Some people go to their cars and eat food they've packed from home. We ate before we arrived, then snacked while we were there. But honestly, no one searched our bags upon entering. We watched kids this time, so we've never gone on any slides. The lazy river was super crowded and there weren't many floaters available. Most of the people were just walking through it, and the water didn't look clean. It was overall an okay experience, particularly because we had a cabana with lounge chairs, a table for eating, and some shade. It would be nice if the cabanas had water misters. read more

Disappointing experience, especially for the price. We visited Hurricane Harbor Concord on 8/9/26 and unfortunately left very disappointed, especially considering how much we spent. We paid $300 to rent a cabana, and no one ever checked our reservation or checked us in. We asked an employee how we were supposed to check in, and they didn't know. At no point did anyone verify that we had actually rented the cabana, which made us wonder why we paid $300 when it appeared we could have simply walked in and sat down. The cabana itself had tired, worn furniture and offered no additional service or amenities that we could see. Essentially, we paid $300 for a place in the shade. We also purchased the $20 unlimited-refill drink cup, but within a few hours the refill station had run out of ice, so the soda was warm. When we asked whether there were other refill locations, staff couldn't tell us. Even the water bottle filling stations ran out of water about halfway through the day, which was especially frustrating at a water park on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, the lack of helpful customer service was a theme throughout the day. Several employees seemed either poorly informed or uninterested in helping. When I asked the employee stationed outside the regular swimming pool whether it was open, she simply shook her head "no"--no explanation, greeting, or even a smile. Most of our interactions with staff felt unfriendly and dismissive. The ride operations were also frustrating. While waiting for Tornado, we realized there appeared to be only four four-person rafts in circulation, despite a line with hundreds of people waiting. It was incredibly inefficient and made the wait unnecessarily long. The rental tubes for the lazy river also ran out before the day was even halfway over. We expected crowds and lines at a water park on a summer weekend. What we didn't expect was a shortage of ride equipment, rental tubes, ice and even drinking water, combined with staff who often couldn't answer basic questions. For the amount of money a family can easily spend here in one day--especially after paying an additional $300 for a cabana--the overall experience simply did not feel worth the cost. We spent the day at Hurricane Harbor on a Saturday, and while it was extremely busy, the kids had an absolute blast! If you're planning a weekend visit, just be prepared for long lines. We waited about an hour just to get into the park around 11 a.m., and then another hour and a half for food later in the day. It was definitely crowded, but still manageable if you come prepared. My biggest tip is to arrive as early as possible if you want a good shaded spot with chairs. Those fill up fast! I'd also recommend bringing a blanket, a small pop-up tent or portable umbrella for extra shade, a waterproof phone case, and plenty of towels. Those little things can make a huge difference on a hot day. Keep in mind that outside food isn't allowed, but if you're trying to save money, you can always keep a cooler or lunch in your car and head out for a break before coming back in (if your admission allows re-entry). Also, don't expect a giant dessert--the funnel cake was much smaller than we expected, which was a little disappointing. Parking is another expense to plan for. It was around $30-$35, although it's free if you have a Gold Pass, which is a nice perk. Despite the crowds and long waits, the water attractions kept the kids smiling all day, and that's what made the trip worth it. Been over a decade since I been to a water park. This was semi reasonable deal for me, I got the half off price online. Its a small park with about 6 water slides a wave pool and a lazy river, both of which are 3 feet of water so those were lame. The lines were super short because it was a cooler day in May & the start of the summer season. The only slide closed was Big Kahuna. We had fun forsure but it was freezing cold water with the wind. Staff & life guards were abundant & seemed to be taking the job seriously despite them being super young. This place/ visit brought us all smiles and laughs not to mention thrills and rushes of adrenaline. read more

Visited Hurricane Harbor for the first time on a summer Friday. Arriving about a half hour after opening there was plenty of parking. There was still plenty of parking when we left. The park itself is fine. I'm not sure I expected much, but I did enjoy my time there. My teenage kids loved the lazy river. We went on the Tornado and that was extremely exciting. Went on a few of the other slides and all of them were exciting. There is a lack of shady spots for visitors to sit. The concessions are expensive but I feel like that is expected at these places. There are lockers to store your things for a fee, but they all looked like they could use some maintenance. The bathrooms were the same story. Older looking and not sure if they were dirty or just out of date. Lastly a few of the slides weren't functional during our visit and I think that made the lines longer for those that were open. Hiya B.U.M.S., The summer heat has been absolutely no joke lately, so we packed up and headed over to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Concord to soak in some sun and cool off. Rolling in around noon, the parking lot was surprisingly empty, giving us high hopes for a day of zero lines and endless rides. Of course, a theme park day always comes with a few twists. Here is the summary of our day--the good, the bad, and the delicious. Security screening felt a bit random. While my wife's sandwiches were cleared without an issue, my cousin's chips were a strict no-go. I also forgot I had a tiny Bluetooth speaker clipped to our bag; security let us bring it in, but requested we keep it off (fair enough--no one wants to hear someone else's playlist!). We initially scored a nice shady spot, but the sun moves fast and the shade vanished within an hour! Luckily, we stumbled upon a total "secret spot" to hang out for the rest of the day. Our first meal of pizza and breadsticks was decent but a little dry. However, the cheeseburger and fries meals were a massive hit. We ordered three of them throughout the day, and our 11-year-old son chose the burger every single time and thoroughly enjoyed it. The park left the condiments out in the scorching sun (nobody wants warm ranch!). Worse, the fine print failed to mention that desserts were excluded. We saved our last food window for a funnel cake, only to be denied at the counter. The staff couldn't explain the policy, which wasted 30 minutes of our ride time. The Big Winners: Tornado was beautifully terrifying--my son and I rode it twice, both taking turns going down the drop backwards! The Honolulu Half-Pipe (the "Blue Taco" ride) was also a massive hit for an 11-year-old. The Water Slides: On the Four-Slide Tower, the Orange Slide had two solid drops and the Yellow Slide was plenty of fun. We skipped the White Slide, and the Blue Slide was closed. Breakpoint Plunge was awesome, and Splash Water Island was a blast to explore. Pools & Rivers: Caribbean Cove won points for having genius in-water benches. The Lazy River was a great length (despite a little floating debris), but Breaker Beach (the wave pool) felt like it was operating at only half-power. We had to skip Big Kahuna entirely due to a massive line and a slow tube-loading system. The biggest drawback was ride efficiency. The staff lacked a smooth system for loading and unloading, making wait times much longer than necessary. Additionally, the restroom cleanliness wasn't up to par for a Six Flags park, and we noticed quite a few ants hanging out around the food shack. Between the line inefficiencies, warm condiments, and the dessert pass surprise, the park layout easily sat at a 2-star rating. However, the sheer amount of smiles, laughs, and pure excitement from the kiddos boosted our final score to a 3 out of 5 stars. Would we go back? Surprisingly, yes. When the California heat is beaming down, you just need a place to jump in and cool off. My boyfriend and I went to Hurricane Harbor last Saturday and it was just so disappointing - it felt like the management had gone out of their way to provide a lousy experience, i.e. how much $$ can we fleece these customers out of and how little can we give in return... For starters, there's the prices - $35 for admission (not terrible if it weren't for the rest; $30 just to park in the lot; $11 for a locker that you'll definitely need; $7 for an inner tube. And you're NOT ALLOWED to bring in food, or even WATER! Last year I purchased a $19 chicken sandwich - with chicken so tough it was almost inedible, on a dry bun with no condiments anywhere to be found - so this year we brought food, which we then had to go out to the car to eat - very unwelcoming! I don't even know how much the water was because we brought that too, but had to drink it in the car. But the real pisser was that half the slides were closed!!! You spend that much money, and you expect the slides to be open! So now, the lines are that much longer for the open slides. We waited 1/2 hour just to get an inner tube to ride the slide, then another hour line to actually take the 15 second ride. We were told that the slides were closed because there weren't enough lifeguards. School has begun again, and some of the guards have quit and lots of them call in sick. I say to Management - That's Predictable - Hire More Guards! On top of that, there are guards monitoring the closed slides - what a waste! Use those guards to open more of the slides, and use other staff, not lifeguards, to monitor closed slides. And here's the kicker - there is one big set of stairs with 4 slides at the top. Only 2 of those slides were operating (of the closed ones, one had a tube stuck in it - easy to fix! and the other didn't have water running in it - why?) And of the 2 open ones, most people prefer the blue one. That leaves the white one running but unused and those of us who actually want to ride the white one have to wait for everyone in front of us who wants to ride the blue. This is ridiculous! And easy to fix - split the staircase in half with a rope and a sign on one side for the white slide and on the other side for the blue slide. That would cut the wait to a fraction of what it was. I wonder if the management cares about the customer's experience at all. It should be simple to address some of these issues. Personally, I'd like to get a refund. And I won't be coming back to this waterpark. read more

We drove all the way to the park only to find out that it's closed on a fine Sunday for private events. The website still sells us ticket for the day and no where to find out that it will be closed for private event at all. Worst of all, they refuse to refund the ticket saying that when we bought we agreed that all purchases are FINAL! We had a great time at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord and it's a fun place to bring family and friends. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our visit, although at times it felt like some areas could have been run a little more efficiently. The biggest downside was the cost of food and drinks, which were very expensive. The restroom facilities could also use more attention and maintenance to improve the overall guest experience. Despite those issues, we still had a great day and enjoyed the attractions. We will definitely be coming back! read more

After living locally for over 10 years, I finally made my way to the water park. I read all the reviews beforehand and was honestly expecting to be disappointed because of those reviews, however I can say that we had an absolute blast! We arrived at 11:15 am and were able to go on a bunch of the slides with very minimal wait time. Of course the lines and crowds grew as the afternoon went on, but ultimately it was very manageable (longest wait was 20 min). The staff was super friendly and nice, the life guards did a good job at keeping everyone safe, the facilities were clean. The only negative is that the raft slide was out of commission (they said all of the rafts had popped) so that was a bit of a bummer. Lazy River is ugly on the bottom, it's easy to see because it was only about 2/3 filled with water. Had to walk in it because they didn't have enough $10 inner tubes. Didn't go on any rides or slides because the lines takes 1 and a half hour wait. The wave pool is only a ripple, no waves. Daughter rented a premium cabana that was supposed to include food and beverage and service. They said "that changed about 2 weeks ago"!! No notice, no reduction in price. There were plenty of ants. Biting ants in the lounge chairs. Had to pay full price for all food and beverages that was supposed to be included in the high price of the cabana. People pay money coming to see and feel what they want to ride and her as a worker/ guidance to the 4 slides. She wouldn't like when someone said they wanted to go on yellow, very manipulative when someone participated to using the white or blue slide, would act passive aggressively sarcastic. My friend needed to go on the slide with someone and so I had my partner go instead of me because I did not want to deal with her attitude again. I hated this place. It was dirty...everything was nasty. The changing tents needed cleaning and repair. The locker area needed to be swept and washed. Bathrooms were gross. Food was awful and extremely expensive. Choices were limited and they're clearly not running their restaurant and stands well. Whatever you do, do not buy the pizza. Fries were actually decent, but it was $18 for a 24 ounce can of Corona. Worse, the water was nasty. One cannot tell on a ride, but it was obvious in the lazy river and Breaker Beach (wave pool). Our experience here was AWFUL, I visited the park on Saturday 8/22 it wasn't to crowded and the wait time for everything was almost 1 1/2 hr, they decided to closed the slides on the kids area when they were clearly working , for the older kids area most of the slides were closed as well and they only had 1 lifeguard upstairs and 1 downstairs so the line took forever to move, we bought the bracelet for $35 to get refills every 90 min , the line to order food was 90 mins , once we order we waited for them to make it for another 10 mins and only to get our fries burned , I WILL NOT BE SURPRISED IF THIS PLACE ENDS UP CLOSING ITS DOORS, I heard a lot of people there that were having the same experience as us. read more

I went in without reading any reviews and with no knowledge of what this park was like. Overall I left somewhat disappointed. The main reasons for this are the length of the lines and the price of the (low quality) food. All the slides had 20-30 minute waits and on this not warm and windy day we froze while waiting. It looks like they have torn down one of the main slide structures it made the other ones more packed. The food was super basic slices of pizza or a pathetic cheeseburger for almost 20 bucks each. On the positive side the slides are pretty good when you actually get on them and the entry fee is super reasonable. I did find the place to be pretty clean too. My kids had a good time so we will probably try it again, maybe on a weekday when it's less busy. read more

There was also a drunk guy float beyond the bayous w/staff giving multiple warnings - incident waiting to happen. -line was super long w/only a single worker just kicking it. Feels like a free for all.... -multiple location to stay hydrated is cool. Line wasn't too bad there. Do not spend your money here!! This place is jenky af, customer service sucks, and they false advertise services that they do not provide. Idiot us spent money on a cabana (over $400) expecting the convenience of being able to order food and have it delivered to our cabana and surprise surprise the service was "unavailable" although they clearly state it online. The park looks like it's falling apart and the food was sub-par. Do not spend your money here I highly suggest people go to the Dublin Wave instead or even the Livermore splash pad for a lot less then what they will spend here. read more

We went on a Monday in July. The good: The four slide typhoon slide complex is fun! We did three of the four slides and enjoyed them all. Wait times between waiting for a float and then waiting in the main line ran about 20-30 minutes total for the hours we were there. My teenager enjoyed Honolulu Halfpipe and the wait time was maybe 15 minutes. The bad: Big Kahuna was closed, as was the majority Splashwater Island (the big water playground). The only thing open on the big playground was the big bucket that dumps water, but kids were not able to explore or climb on the structure and all of its slides were closed. We were told that both of these were closed because of a lack of sufficient lifeguards. These were both big bummers for us given the ages of our party. The wave pool also felt underpowered compared with other wave pools we have visited. Overall, the park felt very run down compared to the much newer water park within Great America, which we have visited many times. I definitely strongly prefer the water park in great America both for the attractions and general niceness and cleanliness. read more

This place needs people who care. Lots of broken rides, super long lines at the few that are open, rude managers and clueless customer service people. We purchased a drink cup, were charged the wrong rate, they refused to fix it. The guest service manager was rude and couldn't care less about helping the guests. It's disappointing to see water world drive, because water world actually maintains their parks. 6 flags needs to try to make guests enjoy themselves and really needs to fix the rides. We've had family passes since 2017, and this place has completely gone downhill. During the week, hardly anything is open. Even the big splash island for kids and adults--their main attraction--is always closed. Everything is dirty. The bottom of the lazy river is slimy, and the wave pool is black and filthy on the bottom. There are more seats and cabanas than anyone could ever use, and the cabanas are always empty. I don't understand why they need so many when they sit unused. They need to invest the money they make back into the park. Add more slides, maintain the attractions they already have, and hire enough staff so the slides they do have are actually open. We were so unimpressed by this place. The water was really dirty and the rides all had extremely long lines that weren't moving quickly. We were going to buy a treat for our son and they were out of ice cream, out of icees, long lines for all other food. So we went to get changed and and the bathrooms were atrocious - filthy, many stalls not working or so thoroughly besmirched that they were unusable - and there weren't actually any dressing rooms as advertised on the side of the building (a toilet stall is not a dressing room). This is the first and last time I will ever come here. I waited for 35 minutes in a line for nachos and I was two people from the front of the line and they said they weren't selling food anymore. You can't make this stuff up. The lines are extraordinarily long and they're about a one hour wait total. On the website it said none of the rides were closed, we arrived here in three of the rides are closed. I hear from other people that they lack employees and it's very unorganized. In addition, we purchase the all you can drink soda package was very strong and have ice in the vending machine. When I asked the worker only 30 minutes later if I can get another soda, he said what's wrong with that one? I have a soda every 15 minutes. What are you talking about? On a sidenote, I'm pregnant. You don't want to give a pregnant woman a drink? After going to two other waterpark this summer, I would not recommend this place at all! The parking lot a large piece of asphalt which could reach of 115 degrees ,no shade in the parking lot at all. Very little shade inside the park as well. If you don't go super early, you will have to sit in the sun all day long and the walking paths are hot as the parking lot definitely wear river shoes otherwise it is unbearable. It is overcrowded overpriced, and the water is very murky if you dip your head under in the lazy river, you can't see more than 2 feet in front of you, that in itself is scary, could it be sunblock or bacteria? Wish I could do less than 1 star. Hour long wait for every ride, hour long wait just to get a beer and I'm not exaggerating in the slightest. Also get a locker because we weren't going to then we saw a bunch of unsupervised teenagers by our stuff security wasn't paying attention to. By far the worst water park in the Bay Area. Where do I start? From the lack of adequate shade to the broken, non-functioning water slides, this place looks to be on its last leg. I accompanied my children as they attended a birthday party here the weekend of August 1st. Parking stalls feel a little tighter than usual, and many attendees don't take the time to position their cars between the lines resulting in increased search times. After securing a parking spot, we were ushered in like cattle. Most theme parks have long lines, but this one has no shade and is equally lacking in its efficiency; instead of a free flowing line, park security stops the line allowing only 20 or so attendees to enter the maze of bars to the pay station, leaving the others to bake in the sun. Once that set of 20 or so group passes, the next set of 20 is then waived in, as if we were all in need of sign language. When you finally make it through, you are "welcomed" by another set of security guards for a stroller and bag search, and they speak to you as though you are either at the DMV or in line waiting to be cavity searched. If this doesn't give you the feel, think of a miniature club bouncer flunky draped in a tactical vest with the charming personality of an overworked TSA worker- something straight out of a Druski skit. Got the picture? As I walked towards the metal detector, the security personnel pointed to my my Fannie pack and uttered, "Yep. I need that". There was no, "sir we need to scan that bag." Feeling fully welcomed and cherished as a guest of this establishment, I then sought out a space to set my things. The failure of park management to provide meaningful shade in 90 degree weather feels borderline criminal. Families with elderly members and young toddlers are forced to cram under the few shade trees near the murky lazy river. Because there is no shade to be found, nearly all of the umbrellaed food court tables are decorated with random belongings, duffel bags, towels, shoes - you name it- leaving no place to eat your chicken strips. After placing our things under a tree, we were off to the water slides . You are forced to suffer alongside all of the other inmates (oops, I meant guests) as you wait and wait and wait some more. The lines go on for what seems like forever. And they are not for the rides- no these lines are for the inner tubes needed for the rides! So you wait in a forever line for 30-45 minutes, then you head to another line with your tube to then ride. I came to realize that for some reason, the park doesn't have enough tubes! My advice: pay a few more bucks and head to Manteca. The lodge down there offers a much better experience. read more

Went on a Saturday, 2 of the 5 rides were closed. Lines for the tubes were even longer than the lines for the rides themselves. Don't waste your money in this place. There are only 5 water slide options. One had 4 to choose from but you still had to wait in one long line. The ticket price seems reasonable but parking is 30 bucks and the food options suck and are expensive and you can't bring in outside food. Well you can if you have "dietary restrictions" so we did manage to get our food in but the kids still wanted stuff from the concession stands. You also have to rent an inter tube for the lazy river. Anyway, coming from someone that has been to water parks across the country, this was probably the worst one I've been to. Save your money. read more
