iced matcha latte with vanilla syrup

good matcha, which is surprisingly difficult to find in the Monterey/Carmel area! Although, it is nothing special. The croissant here was $6 and also nothing special, they don't heat it up either. Cute cafe, lots of young people here, but pricey for what it is. I'm sure it's a good local spot but not sure if it's worth it for a visitor unless you're just searching for a decent matcha/coffee and nothing more.

I was so excited to hear that this coffee shop was coming to Monterey and I've loved this place since they opened! Personally I feel it's hard to find a good coffee shop in Monterey county but they do not disappoint from the coffee, pastries, and staff. They have amazing pastries (so good you need to make sure to wake up early and snag some before they sell out), the service is always kind and welcoming and the coffee shop has a good bit of seating. Just great vibes all around.

Ok coffee. Nothing special but definitely not bad. Don't know if I'd recommend anything here but if you need coffee and its local definitely come by. Got the matcha latte and vanilla latte. The place itself was cute though, parking is in the back

Visited a number of times, from the day they first opened to today nothing has changed: everything is amazing. Service is great, friendly people, and the drinks are so good. Whether it's a vanilla latte, mocha or matcha latte it won't disappoint!

A great addition to downtown Monterey! Shoutout to my sister who found this place. We both ordered a matcha latte with oat milk. Mine was sweetened with honey while her matcha was sweetened with vanilla. FYI they use Rocky's matcha (if the photo didn't win you over already). The place itself had great lighting and good amount of seating. Try this place out! It's across my favorite place to get sushi.

Best specialty coffee in Monterey! They do a great light roast. Seating is small and they don't offer public WiFi so it's not a place to sit and work at but the coffee is incredible

I love when new coffee shops pop up! This is a great addition to the coffee scene in Monterey! The staff was friendly and the inside of the cafe was bright and airy. My cortado was delicious, perhaps the milk wasn't as creamy as I wished but overall still a great pick me up! Would love to be back to try their matcha!

Yet another quasi 3rd wave coffee shop that only serves 12oz drinks. Great crew. Solid service. LIMITED menu and small drink sizes. I want to love this place. They'll need some specialized scratch made syrups and a 16oz size for this place to become my regular jam. It's got the swell...just needs nail the crest. Here's to hoping.

I've been walking by this place a lot waiting for it to open. I could see a couple people in there daily working on getting the place together. They've really created a quaint, no frills place that is very welcoming. The service has been friendly and quick despite only being open a couple of days. The drinks are $4 for drip and about $5 for lattes which is cheaper than I expected for a new place with quality beans. I even bought a bag of beans from them that was cheaper than the roaster sells it online! This place will definitely be added to the rotation!

The service was fast. The prices were affordable. The chocolate croissant has a fluffy bread consistency. The coffee was the weak part for me. The espresso shot was good but laking flavoring for a mocha.

Such a cute little coffee shop. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and such a vibe. This place has a limited seating area, but you can take your drink to go and down to the beach for a scenic walk

Very cool and hip cafe in old town Monterey. I think it is in a historic building as it totally…read morelooks like a Spanish Mission era type of building. Super open and airy, there's a separate room off to the side with some haphazardly laid out tables and seats. The main retail area is pretty busy with people lined up placing orders/waiting for an order, or people fixing up their coffee drinks. Now even though I took my goods to-go I had to go out to their patio to find a restroom. That outdoor area is totally cool, totally out in the open but you're like in a square inside a fort, surrounded by walls, so you can't see any street action. But you're totally open to roam in here from the street. Next time I'm in this area, I'm definitely gonna make time to chill on that patio. Cold Brew ($6.50/5*) Perfect to my taste, smooth and mellow on the roast. Pricey for a small cup but this is a touristy area. Banana Bread Slice ($5.25/4*) Very thick slice. Super soft yet moist in the center but firmer and more well done on the edges. Pretty dark in color, maybe some cocoa powder went in but there were also tiny hits of dark chocolate throughout. Mild natural banana flavor, wished it were stronger but that's me. Blue Corn Cookie ($5/5*) Never had a cookie like this before but I was pretty impressed. Kinda like a cornbread but made into the texture of a good cookie, so it was crisp and buttery on the bottom and moist and chewy in the center. All whilst having a pronounced corn meal flavor and texture. Major props for exposing me to something new that I enjoyed immensely. Went great with sips of black cold brew. Most other things in their pastry case seemed a tad fancier than most other regular coffee shops. I'm just glad I was able to run into and choose a more special cafe to end my beautiful trip out in the central coast.

The cherry croissant was perfectly buttery and flaky, with the acidity of the cherry adding just the right kick to this breakfast pastry. We stopped by while driving along the coast and ordered a cappuccino, a latte, and a tiramisu. Both drinks were watery, bitter, and tasted more like regular drip coffee than something you'd expect from a café with such high ratings. The tiramisu was also much smaller than expected and much sweeter than a traditional tiramisu. There was also a small outdoor patio, which could be really charming, but it also looked tired. The wooden tables were weathered, dusty, and in need of some care I know this café is known as an old French café, and I really wanted to love it. Inside is pretty cozy, and you are fairly close to other people but it wasn't that bad. Service was attentive and they gave a large bottle of still water so you can refill your waters as needed. We opted for the mushroom cap as an appetizer, and got the mushroom truffle pizza as main with the 10 piece gnocchi (you can get 5 pieces as well). The mushrooms were great. Imagine escargots with a garlicky and salty rosemary oil sauce, except with mushrooms. It also came with small pieces of bread that had sesame seeds on it, which went amazing with the oil and buttery goodness. Gnocchi had a good texture to it - definitely softer than I thought it'd be. The sauce was creamy, salty, and cheesy. Again there were three pieces of plainer bread that you can use to get all of the sauce in the pan. The truffle pizza was really good as well. Very obvious truffle flavor mixed with the slightly crispy and umami-ness of the mushrooms. What made the pizza even better was drizzling a bit of the gnocchi cream/sauce along with what I think is their house hot oil that they provided. Finishing off with the panna cotta was perfect after heavier mains. It was light but had a good sweetness. The blueberry was a sort of flattened jelly, which is cool instead of being chunks of blueberry. I was already thinking of returning the next day to try some of their other main dishes as they looked good!
