Yes, this is a hotel restaurant, but being in a hotel is the only thing that makes it so. When it comes to quality and variety of food, and the excellent service, Ondus stands apart and I would stack it up against non-hotel restaurants. They are a scratch kitchen, meaning everything is prepared in their kitchen and it's noticeable. We ran into the chef and he said they make everything but "the bread and the ketchup!" For lunch, we had the meat lover's pizza (real pieces of bacon) and ceasars salad (with an actual anchovy) - both delicious. At breakfast, we got the benedict and spinach mushroom omelet that came with incredible potatoes (trying to figure out how to replicate these!) Also got a side of bacon, which was melt-in-the-mouth good. Super tasty. We only had breakfast and lunch, but we were very happy and would come back in a heartbeat. Every server was incredibly friendly and solicitous, checking in on us with Goldilocks frequency (i.e., just right). Prices were also reasonable and, if this isn't enough for you, how would you like a view of the river while you dine?!? There is a lovely patio but you don't have to sit outside to enjoy the view. read more

Arrived on time for my Father's Day reservation. After some discussion between greeters we were seated, but immediately told that brunch wasn't being served anymore (at 11:15am). That is what we came for because it's served until noon! Finally our actual server came by and said only the hollandaise wasn't available, as we saw it being served to the next table. Actually, it was still available. Staff needs better communication and planning for events like these holidays. The biscuits were a bit dry. Gravy was decent, but after living in the South it's hard to find good gravy in the PNW. I'll try again for lunch. Nice atmosphere, good views. read more

Just happen to try this place this morning it was near our hotel. It is located in a boutique hotel on the Vancouver WA board walk. The boardwalk is nothing special but you do have views of the Columbia River. I ordered the steak and eggs and wife ordered y to be salmon Benedict. We not really enjoyed the good and the price was very reasonable for what we got. I would normally rate the good a 4 but gave them a 5 rating due to their service and how attentive and friendly our waitress was. I would definitely give them a try. read more

Lots of Gluten Free options, and staff is very knowledgeable! They have a celiac friendly fryer, which is not that common. The calamari was a bit undercooked, with some doughy and unbattered pieces. The batter was fairly bland and could have been seasoned a little better. Not necessarily an item I would recommend. The fish and chips however were well prepared, and salmon was the catch. Well cooked and not overdone. The rigatoni was prepared well; pasta, flavorful vodka sauce, and grilled chicken was fantastic. The garlic bread was perfectly toasted, and paired well with the pasta. Overall, good quality and options, especially GF. The service was excellent; from hostess to wait staff and you can't beat the views of the Columbia River and Interstate bridge. read more

Got drinks at Ondus recently which is located on the first floor of the AC Hotel in downtown Vancouver. There's limited seating but for a weekend it didn't feel too crowded and we were seated right away. Service was friendly and efficient. I got the smoked old fashioned which was wonderful. Ondus inside the AC Hotel along the newer (and always under construction) Vancouver waterfront. We popped in here for a quick breakfast as it was close to our hotel the Indigo and the online menu looked good. Staff were incredibly friendly and quickly seated us at a window table. We ordered the chorizo and chicken sausage scrambles which were both delicious. Coffee was strong as I like it. We noticed the guy next to us with a huge bowl of fruit which we ordered for "dessert" and took most home with us. Prices were good particularly on the fruit which could have cost more at the store quite honestly. We may be back before leaving for the weekend and want to try this hotel next time. read more

A very nice option if you're looking for happy hour with a view on the Vancouver waterfront. Located in the AC Marriott, this restaurant has a better-than-hotel-vibe about it. A nice sized patio and a lobby bar area, in addition to indoor seating means there's something for everyone. We sat outside on a lovely fall day because why wouldn't you? Service seemed disorganized. But then our server told us she was new, so maybe she just needed some ramp-up time. She was attentive once she took our orders. We had the sangria ($14 on HH), the chicken skewers, the hummus platter, and the frites prosciutto. The sangria wasn't heavy. It was light and refreshing. I'm not a huge chicken thigh fan so I would have enjoyed the chicken more if it had been breast meat, but the sauce was good and it came with pickled veggies, hummus and pita bread (so, you don't really need the hummus plate). The hummus plate was interesting. Two slices of grilled baguette, pickled veggies and a few other veggies. I wasn't sure how you were supposed to eat the hummus. The fries were yummy! 3.75 stars. Ambiance is nice, with views of the water and bridge. The entirety of the restaurant is much smaller than I imagined. It is located right in the lobby of the hotel. There's nice nautical-like modern decor however, and there's plenty of spacing so you don't feel crowded from the parties next to you. I tried the crab cakes which were very tender. They were reasonably flavorful but nothing that aspired to be super memorable. The mustard sauce they sat upon was delicious. I also liked the salad was dressed in a white balsamic vinaigrette that paired well with the richness of the cakes. My child tried the "hand-breaded chicken nuggets" but didn't care for the tempura-like coating. She did enjoy the fries though. There were a diverse and tempting array of items on the menu which made it hard to choose from. My husband wanted to try their "Marry Me Chicken" dish but the server mentioned it took a long time to prepare so he went with the burger. It was rather large and he said it was pretty good. I like that they switch up a traditional bun for a herby looking ciabatta looking bun. The bacon also looked thick and plentiful. There were some type of small insect, most likely fruit flies buzzing all over our table unfortunately. They were trying to land on our food and drinks. Prices were extremely expensive, and parking was medium-easy as you park in the hotel garage and get your ticket validated during your meal. Great new addition to the waterfront and especially to the AC Hotel. For me the stars were definitely the cocktails and the dessert! We were lucky to get here while it was still happy hour so we decided to order a lot of small plates to try different things. The Brussel sprouts and French onion dip in particular were my favorite! The Mac n cheese, pork belly, and wings were pretty good too but wouldn't necessarily order them again. The tropical lemon meringue is like nothing I've tasted - I never would've thought pineapple would go well with it but boy was I wrong. The chocolate cake was also decadent and heavenly. Had a wonderful time here last night celebrating a birthday! Staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. They really know how to make someone feel special on their birthday! Made reservations online and noted we were celebrating a birthday. We arrived at our reservation time and were seated immediately with a 'happy birthday'. Love it when you don't have to remind restaurants and they pay attention to the reservation details. It was a warm night, so we ended up sitting at a table in the patio doorway where we could get a lovely waterfront view as well as the cool air-conditioning fan. It was the perfect table! After perusing the menu, we decided on the fried pickles, French onion soup and the salmon BLT. All the food was delicious, no complaints. After our plates were cleared, our server brought out a yummy birthday dessert with lit candle. The complimentary dessert was a warm chocolate brownie and vanilla bean ice cream with whipped cream and fresh berries. It was delicious, and big enough for two to share. Overall a wonderful experience. The staff was so friendly! They didn't rush us either, which I appreciated since I was catching up with a friend. I'll definitely be returning to try some of their other menu items. Highly recommend! *Also wanted to mention that the restaurant validates parking in the AC Hotel parking garage. Incredibly impressed with the service. It didn't start out that way. I called the day before we came to see if we could reserve a table on the patio for Happy Hour. I was told it was first come first serve We arrive this evening, as a party of three, and we're told that they would prep a table and we were first on the list for the next table on the patio. We waited at a table in the bar, and I saw a group before I walk up to the desk and promptly be seated I approached the desk, letting them know, "I was told I couldn't make reservations yesterday, and a group before was seated before us on the patio". The Executive Chef, Tanner, apologized to me and made it very clear that he would personally get us seated as soon as possible. It wasn't much of an inconvenience as we were seated within five minutes. In spite of that, minutes after we sat down, the hostess brought us a platter of Brussel sprouts for the inconvenience, and Tanner came up to our table personally to again Express his apologies The true test of leadership is how a business recovers from adversity. I want to be sure it's known that Tanner saw to it that a restaurant we like is now a restaurant we love! Great job! read more

This restaurant is located on the first floor of the Marriott hotel on the waterfront. They have a parking garage and will validate for parking in their garage. We were greeted immediately and shown to a table without any delay. We arrived at 11 AM on a Saturday morning hoping for lunch, but found only the breakfast menu was available until noon. OK, brunch it is. Unfortunately, due to construction, we were unable to see the river, but I believe typically this is a great vantage point to see the five bridge to Portland and the Columbia river. All three of us enjoyed the dishes we had selected. The chicken and eggs was a huge portion that comes with tasty white gravy and a large biscuit. Lots of good tasting food. The person who had the chorizo hash said it was very good and was quite pleased with the choice. The steak and eggs which comes with chimichurri sauce on the steak and breakfast potatoes and toast was a huge portion. I'm told it was very good tasting, however, the steak had been ordered, medium and was fairly well-done. Coffee is included with all breakfast items and I had a cup and enjoyed it very much. Service was good and will likely come back here another time for lunch or dinner. read more

You can eat inside at the bar, get table service or outside with a beautiful river view. We hit happy hour and found a menu that was diverse and had lots of GF options. We had sliders, pork belly skewers and prosciutto frites. All 3 dishes were very tasty. The drinks were good as well. They could use a few more wine options, but we found one we liked. We had a nice conversation with the chef Tanner, as he was sure to come out and check with the guests on how they were enjoying the food. Nice touch. This place is perfect for an after work happy hour with friends, or a weekend bite while visiting all the nearby tasting rooms. We did not sample the dinner menu, but it looked like it had potential. The appetizer was a bit disappointing -- there wasn't much bread, and the pickled vegetables had an overpowering vinegar taste. Since the olives are already strong (as they should be), I personally would've preferred the vegetables served fresh or lightly sautéed in butter or olive oil with a little salt and pepper for balance. With only one small square of bread to share, it felt incomplete; two pieces would've made it much more enjoyable. The nuts it came with were probably the best part. My strawberry-orange salad was simple but fresh, and my partner's fish and chips were decent...it seemed like the fish was salmon. Overall, not a bad spot. It's small but cozy, with indoor and outdoor seating, a great bar, and wonderful service inside a beautiful waterfront hotel. read more

It was just okay. The atmosphere is a little odd since it's in a hotel. It feels like it's trying to be a nice date night place and it has remnants of a sophisticated date night but something is just off. It just misses the mark a little by trying to combine the hotel, restaurant and waterfront atmospheres. The food was in line with this same: not quite hitting the mark. We started with the calamari. It was just so/so. I think if they had paired their calamari with a better dipping sauce, like maybe a lemon pepper aioli, it would have been better. For a main I ordered the sausage stuffed shells and I have to say they were lackluster. They could have stuffed them with more sausage and cheese and the sauce needed more spices added to it. My wife ordered the steak and without the chimichurri, she would not have liked it at all. And that's saying a lot because she's a "steak should be served medium rare and seared with only salt and pepper", kind of person. That being said we did end our meal with a brownie á la mode, and it was wonderful! Definitely the best part of our meal. There's service was wonderful, though. They nailed that part of the evening. My husband and I have been coming to AC Lounge for small bites and drinks for awhile and decided to come check out Ondus to see if their menu switched up. This is the only place I know that serves carpaccio near us and I love coming here for that. Staff has always been great and service is usually pretty good/prompt. We were greeted and seated right away. Since it was such a nice day, we asked to be seated outside. I love that they allow you to have happy hour even if you're not sitting in the actual bar/lounge. We had a few different staff members check on us through out our meal and I think one was maybe the manager? They were all so friendly and attentive. Food was amazing before they changed the name to Ondus and it is still amazing. Although it is good, I feel like it is still a bit pricey. This is our 4th or 5th time driving from Portland to eat at Ondus. We had Brandy tonight as our server, along with another kind male server. The food was delicious, and because of food allergies Brandy made sure it was all prepared to keep me safe. We love that they have so many meals to accommodate food allergies and the culture of the staff is so helpful, kind and friendly.
