I wanted to love you. I still do - but it was a huge miss for us. Came in around opening - noon. They are right next to my fave spot - the pinball place! We wanted a drink and bite before thrifting and going to the book store. One other couple was inside. Waiter was nice but not hospitable. The ambiance is amazing - 10/10 love the vibe and decor. I ordered a drink of the mixed drinks and my husband got a margarita. The drink was so bad - neither one of us could drink it. I don't think I've ever returned a drink I can't pound before haha. It was 10 minutes before I went home to the bar to ask for something different - no one came by to ask how things were. The guava choice I picked for the second - not good. Watered down flavors of who knows. The drinks at Wahi Hanna are amazing in comparison - especially with the Dole Whip vibe. The spam fries were $9 for half a can of spam cut up and put in the oven with a side of mayo? The loco moco was promising but tasted like something you'd get at Kenjis - not a Hawaiian spot. I feel like with a lot of tweaks in flavor - this could be a great spot. read more

Coral Club is a fun lil hot spot in downtown Vancouver. During our rain months, this is the place to go! Bright, lively, good music, FANTASTIC food, EXCELLENT drinks, fun servers... yassss kweeen! We happened upon Coral Club at the recommendation of a friend about a year ago. We popped in for a quick snack but ended up staying for dinner. Their drink game is on point. I can't even remember everything we ordered but the answer to a drink is, of course, yes! Their food is solid. We've done the Shrimp Skewer, Lumpia, Coral Platter, and Lava Fries. They were DELISH! My gang tried the Spam Musubi... I wasn't brave enough, but they loved it! When the good ole PNW gets you down, give it a try. Me and 2 friends walked in and were greeted immediately and told to pick any table! Server also asked if we were ok to use QR codes for menu etc. Hands down, server was attentive, kind, all around great. I got the HH margarita, it took me 7 straw pulls to finish it, and they weren't long ones, so much ice I was kind of shocked that it emptied so quick. Definitely not worth the $9..... One friend got the Pina Colada which he said was good, another got the Mai Tai and he said it was super strong (which he enjoyed) and for him to say that, he never does, I believe it. We each ordered the HH lumpia, which came out hot and fresh, and were sooooo good. Our new go to Hawaiian Tiki bar! If you love Tiki bars, this is the place to go to. However, get there early because this place is small on the inside. The ambience, the decor, and the total relaxing vibe here is incredible. It feels like you're 1000 miles away from any of life's problems. Our service was fantastic. Our waitress was always checking on us making sure everything was just right or if we needed anything. The drinks are strong, but are mixed well and very well balanced. The food portions are small, but taste exceptional! It's really more of a cocktail bar versus a restaurant so know that going in. A place to have good tiki bar drinks and cocktails and small plates of food to go with. They have happy hours until 6 PM on Saturday so that was nice to get a discount on our drinks because drinks can be expensive, no matter where you go. All the attention to detail in the decor of this place was really cool. Heck even the hallway to the bathroom and even in the bathroom itself was decorated cool. Ventured out to Coral Club for the first time and had a wonderful experience. I had such a wonderful time I forgot to take a picture of my main dish ‍ We did the Dine the Couve Special 3 for $33. Everything was delicious. For my main dish I had the Kahlua pork with rice and mac, the rice was topped with toasted coconut and the pork was nice and juicy. We popped into Coral Club for brunch on a Sunday morning and it was not busy at all. The server was awesome, she had great energy. They have a couple vegan options which is why we decided to try it out. The vibe is tiki bar, low lighting, nice big bar. My friends ordered onion rings as an appetizer - they looked good. I ordered vegan tacos - absolutely delicious. We all ordered a round of their "Jason Mimosa" - Passionfruit, orange & guava juice with champagne. The food & drink presentation were beautiful! GOTTA LOVE A COZY TIKI BAR on a rainy day! Vibes were chill and the food was so GOOD. This is a small tiki bar with a lot of personality and charm. I Loved the decor and the vibes. Menu is to the point and packed with a lot of flavorful drinks. Being able to come in on a Friday and be seated without wait was a huge plus. We had the Coral Platter and two drinks from the menu. You can add fire to any drink for $2 which is awesome. The platter came with chicken wings (4), spam musubi (2) and lumpia (2). Everything was served hot and fresh and was well flavored - loved the lumpia. The drinks were a slow burn - we ordered the Cobra's fang which is strong, Aunty Punch (tonight's was blackberry and a vinaigrette each ordered 1), and the Painkiller (not pictured, I added fire. It was great). I recommend the chicken wings with spicy gochujang. Lumpia was perfect and the spam musubi was good. Cute spot in DT Vancouver. Definitely better than the Tiki places I've checked out in Portland. Only tried the Loco Moco for food and it was good. What a fun little tiki bar in the 'Couve! This place is small, so if you have a larger group you'll want to contact them ahead of time to see if you can get a table. Their tiki drinks are reasonably priced for what you get, especially compared to other trendy cocktail lounges in the Portland area. I like how their cocktail menu indicates how strong each drink is. Their food menu is great, too, with a variety of options, including vegetarian. Their happy hour menu & prices looks fantastic, AND they have a brunch menu on the weekends, so I definitely want to come back for those sometime. They checked on us many times, brought out everything we requested, etc. The ambiance is exactly what I would expect of a tiki bar with velvet paintings, dark and dimly lit colorful lights, bamboo, thatched walls, and tiki lamps. You gotta check out the bathroom wallpaper too! We ordered the spam musabi and it was a large, delicious portion. People in our party also ordered the kimchi, kahlua pork, Mac salad, chicken skewers, etc and everything looked great and plated well. I do appreciate that on the drink menu they put how strong drinks are. While the drinks tasted fine, the number one complaint in our party was that for the price of the drinks there was too much ice in them. One part of our group ordered a shared bowl to drink. Presentation was impressive including a little fire presentation but the bowl was over iced. My particular drink was something I never tried called a Missionary's Downfall. It had no ice in it and served in a small glass with too much froth. I felt disappointed by the size of the drink for the price. The Painkiller was bigger but at least half ice. I LOVE a tiki bar so I'm very biased. Loved this little spot. Went for a date night. Lots of boobs on the walls. Fun things to look at all over. It is small, so you might have to wait if you get here later. They do not do reservations. They might have reservations for larger groups? It was unclear, but some tables had reserved on them. Drinks are a little pricey, but hey, you pay for the atmosphere here. I love that you can add fire to any drink for a small upcharge. Just be aware you are going to get a ton of cinnamon in your drink for the effect. We didn't try the food, but the service was great. read more

Popped in last night for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday, we can pushed reservations back twice and the restaurant was more than accommodating! The theme and decor were super cute, even the bathrooms has cute touches like glitter doors. Service was great, our server offered multiple recommendations when asked about the menu. Vibes were really neat! Maybe just not the place to be on a Saturday night; they can't seem to handle being busy. Ordered 3 drinks no food, took 40 minutes to receive our drinks.... We probably wouldn't have even received them if it weren't for us asking about them. They did give us 50% off the drinks which was very generous, but the high percentage large group tip was not earned. Maybe check it out on a weekday and not on a weekend and you may enjoy it more! I hate giving the low reviews. I do hope it helps the business. Tiki Bars are a favorite of mine. And I want all to do well. So this was disappointing. This happened a few weeks ago. I came to Coral Club with with a total of 7 people. Maybe I started off bad by inviting too many friends. But this is not a large group friendly place. So I was also surprised to find out there is a time limit for the tables. 90 min I think. Which felt more like 45 when dispersed among 7 people. It was very warm inside. And very cosy. I do like an intimate place. I was a little sad that all the Christmas decorations overpowered the tiki vibes. So we eventually got our first drinks. And they were great. Tasty, and well presented. Then we got an appetizers and I was struck to my core disappointed. Three Tablespoons of poke. ??? The most expensive bite I ever had. And it wasn't even good. Tasted like peanuts. Where's the fish? "Have you ever ordered an appetizer expecting to share it. And then find you're just playing with Barbie's Tiki party set. I have." At this point we are ready for another drink. And our server comes by and tells us it's last call. So we scramble to pick another drink. But she leaves and doesn't take our order. We try to get her attention. Finally getting up to get her but by then "Sorry it's too late." So we pay our very expensive check and get told to leave. I'm still hungry. I think this may have been the first time I've ever left a tiki bar and knew without a doubt I could drive home safe. Wish we hadn't Uber'd. My husband says never again. But I might try this place again in a few months. It's new. Let them work out the kinks. read more

I haven't had the best of luck with tiki bars in the PNW so I definitely went in with low expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised! Since my friend was in town we decided to share & try two of the bowls - Jabbba and Scorpjon; both were good but Jabba was definitely much better. We already had dinner so didn't get to try a lot of food but the spam masubi was delish. We had a reservation but missed the window and I really appreciate that they were able to get us inside anyways. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the constant reminders that you only have a 90 minute limit. Towards the end I definitely felt pressured to finish my drink quickly and get out of there which ends the experience on a bad note. Hopefully they can find more subtle ways of approaching the topic. read more

SO EXCITED that a speakeasy/tikibar (speaktiki as they're calling themselves) made it up to Vancouver and we had a really great time. For a gal who does NOT go out on Sunday nights, we found ourselves getting a second drink and stretching out our weekend just a little longer yesterday evening. The lounge itself is intimate but not jam-packed, with beautiful, low lighting and fun decorations from floor to ceiling. The food options looked very filling and I have made a mental note to come back. I was eavesdropping on other groups and they had all positive things to say. Our server also mentioned that many of the food items can be vegetarian-substitute, which is a nice bonus. I would recommend making a reservation; even on a Sunday evening, the intimate spot had a good handful of groups enjoying the fun cocktails. Ate here last week with some friends. Super cute inside and their drinks were 10/10 on presentation. Our server was Emma and she was wonderful and checked on us multiple times, she also had tons of suggestions. We ordered multiple plates and a few rounds of drinks. I likely wouldn't come back for the food but it's a great spot for the drinks! I had the vegetarian fried rice and it was very saucy - borderline felt uncooked. Wasn't my favorite. Others at my table had the fish tacos, peanut braised pork ribs, poke spoons and the meat fried rice. All the other guest liked their dishes! They do serve "smaller portions" so if you have a hungry person, I'd recommend you order appetizers. As a vegetarian, I wasn't stoked that there was limited options for me as well. They were out of a drink I wanted to try after these and I told them I wanted a drink with dark sugary rum and banana liqueur and they made me something that was fantastic. I love the lighting in this restaurant. It's on the darker side with red light accents. The restaurant is small and I didn't see any seating for guests if they had to wait. We made reservations and were seated right away. We only ordered the $14 poke spoons which was over priced for 3 tablespoons of mostly onions, radish, avocado and a little bit of poke. The spoons make it difficult to eat the appetizer as they're small ladles meant for soup so it's hard to eat off the ladle without spilling. We also ordered drinks which were filled with ice so you don't get much. The Mai Tai was delicious and my friend's Almost Famous was almost good. We were not impressed with our poke spoons and the dinner menu was small so we decided to leave and eat somewhere else. read more

From the instant we stepped inside, we were whisked away to an island oasis, and the drinks and food both surpassed our expectation . The place was empty when we arrived except for another couple but by the time we left , it was a room full of happy faces all around and it was a Sunday evening , so that's saying something . Started with the classic Old Fashioned and Whiskey sour but the Tiki drinks eventually lured us in , and we ordered the wage war and Missionary`s downfall . The drinks were fantastic to say the least and I highly recommend the Missionary`s downfall . The refreshing taste and the unusual flavors really knocked my socks off . We ordered the Spam Masubi and another entrée but due to some confusion we missed getting the Entrée . The staff was very sweet about it and apologized profusely .In his defense it was a one man show all evening and honestly the Masubi was pretty filling and delicious by itself. If I could give this place 100/10 I would!!! Let's start off with the atmosphere, super fun tiki lounge!! Everything was on point from the seating to the walls to the lighting, just total tiki bar vibes and it was just adorable!! The servers were fun and attentive and did a great job making sure we were taken care of. Also the drink menu had a wide variety of fun options to choose from which I really appreciated. As far as drinks themselves, everything we got was delicious! If you opt for drinks that have more skulls next to the name, definitely expect the alcohol content to increase and maybe taste less smooth, but it was still delicious regardless! I definitely recommend the Leilani Volcano which was creamy, smooth, fruity and delish!! Now my favorite part - the food. All the food was BOMB!!! I seriously couldn't stop eating everything, and I really appreciated that they didn't shy away from spice on some of their dishes. I would say that my personal fav was the lumpia and the musubi, but the fried rice and peppers were also fantastic!! So glad to have a tiki bar in Vancouver finally! This is super laid back if you want to just meet up with a friend for fun fruity drinks and not go all the way to Portland. While I will definitely be returning I will say that I wish they were open longer or had more staffing it was about an hour until close I I felt like service was a bit rushed though it wasn't crowded in the bar at all. Cute speakeasy on an unremarkable downtown street in Vancouver. Dark and cozy with lots of chachkies to make you buy a plane ticket to Maui upon seated. Very dramatic drinks were whisked around the room. Something flaming, somethings with umbrellas, Drinks filled with bananas, coconuts-all topped with orchids. Well after pursuing the QR code menu we both landed on a tall gin and tonic. With extra limes, of course. It was a balmy 61 degrees out so that drink just felt right. Plus being a couple of golfers, it was just the cocktail to loosen up our swings without losing our grip. The first two sips told me all I needed to know about the generous bartender. Wow, lots of booze. So much that I had to hold myself back from getting up and doing the hoola. Next time and yes there will be a next time, I am ordering the flaming drink. My only regret is ordering the spam roll. I know it's a favorite of many an islander but I still am smelling the seaweed. Service: was very prompt because my reservation window was only 90 mins. They book so fast so make sure you have a reservation! Staff was friendly and ensure I always had a drink LOL, so dangerous! FOOOOD, OK HERE WE GO!: Fish tacos 3.5 stars - the filling and fish were great, tasty, fresh and very saucy. What we didn't like was the tortilla, it felt cold and it could have been warmer and cooked a little bit more. Spam masubi 5 stars!: best one I had!! It had coconut rice and a spicy teriyaki sauce on the side for dipping. I still dream of this spam masubi! Kare kare 5 stars: the coconut rice complimented the pork short rib that melted in your mouth like butter. Every bite was flavorful with texture.
