    Onion Rings

Food is amazing. Drinks can be strong but amazing. Their onion rings on the seasonal menu is some of the best onion rings I have had at any restaurant, Loved the LED lighting going off as drinks are made along with the presentation. The server kept checking on us to make sure we were taken care of.

I met some friends here for a bday party. Totally island theme, and it looks and feels it very much, the place sounds like a rainforest sometimes it's cool. The food was solid & so were the drinks , a few of the drinks have fire! There is enough room for a groups to sit inside or outside. I'll definitely be back.

Bland Mhai Mahi Tacos with bland Mac salad

The food is bland with small portions. $32 For the Pu Pu plater is ridiculous the platter should be $20 at most. The Mahi Mahi Bland Tacos were disappointing, the taco shells were not cooked at all its like they took them right out of the bag. The service is okish. The ambiance is really dark hard to see. The decorations are cool, but we won't come back.

Super cute place. Excellent prices, great drinks, great happy hour menu. Servers are very friendly too. This place is definitely a hidden gem in Vancouver.

This place is a hidden gem! It feels like a tropical escape with cozy lighting, indoor/outdoor seating, and even a volcano monitor--super fun vibe. I got the grilled bok choy and BBQ wings, but they were a bit dry and bland. The drink was fruity and tasty though! My friend ordered the Kalua pork entree with mac and cheese and she loved it. The Mac and cheese was pretty good! The service was slow but nice staffs, had to raise our hands often. I'd come back for the atmosphere and try something else on the menu!

We had the most amazing time! Party of 6. Our server was awesome. She helped us navigate our questions about the menu. The Cook but himself but the food still came out in reasonable time. The drinks were fabulous & gorgeous. Sooo much food. We loved the silly atmosphere. So much fun.

I came in late on a Sunday afternoon/early on a Sunday evening and discovered myself in a tropical paradise. I almost never fall in love with a bar or restaurant on my first visit, I admit that I am at least enraptured. You step in the door and need to stop at the hostess station for seating, even at the bar. It is dark, so you pause and take in the tiki decor. There is a video, complete with sound effects. (You might jump when the thunderstorm hits -- I did!) The menu is Hawaiian-influenced, and although I only had two appetizers, the spam musubi and the wings (try the dry rub!), I intend to sample entrees like the kailua pork on future visits. Finally, my bartender, Madi, was a delight, combining friendly and excellent service with mixology flair. She definitely helped make this an over-the-top experience, and is one reason I will be coming back to Wahi Hana.

Wow! What a magical place for cocktails and food. Let's just say all my drinks were awesome. I tried the Jet pilot and Test pilot. These drinks were flammable. Had to. I love that flame. Of course, this brings all attention to your table. (not mad) lol Next food we tried wings they were good. Server was so attentive and sweet. Catching up with my bestie was a perfect start to our Saturday night! I cant wait to try 10 more of the 39 different cocktails they have on the menu!!!!!

The ambience was my favorite part of the evening. You forget that you're in downtown Vancouver, Washington. You feel transported to another place. In the tropics. The food is okay. I've had better Pacific Islander food. The best part was the mac salad. The drinks are delicious, but pricey. More expensive than the drinks in Hawaii. And I'm originally from Hawaii. I read the reviews of the food, and that's why I ordered the sliders and chicken wings. I was disappointed that the Dole pineapple soft serve ice cream was not available, because the machine was broken. If you haven't been here, you should try it. The BEST part was the service. Excellent wait staff!

With so many guava, pineapple and coconut-based options, it was honestly confusing on what to get but we decided on the classics: the Lei Lani Volcano and Lava Flow. The drinks were so creamy and delicious yet dangerously strong! Also, can we talk about the portion sizes? My drink was literally the size of my face, like what?!! It is best to come here in large groups because their shared drinks/scorpion bowls are a total showstopper! We tried the Chopped BBQ Fried Rice, and the smokiness from the BBQ seriously AMPED up all the flavors. Such a great twist on fried rice and so satisfying. The White Curry w/ Brisket Burnt-ends: WOWIE. So much flavor! The sweetness and smokiness from the brisket worked beautifully with the curry, and the meat was wonderfully tender. I also loved the cauliflower in the curry, it added a nice bite and texture that balanced everything out. The Massaman Curry w/ Smoked Lamb Shoulder was delicious, hearty, and PACKED with flavor!!! The lamb was incredibly tender, and the potato soaked up the curry so well. Such a comforting and flavorful dish. Overall, the food did not disappoint at all. Eem has such a unique concept, bringing together bold Thai flavors with Texas-style BBQ, and somehow it works SO well. Definitely a memorable meal and a spot I'd happily come back to!

After days of working my way through Portland's wildly overhyped Thai food, I had begun to wonder…read moreif the problem was me. Maybe Thai food was simply better in Los Angeles. Then I walked into Eem, sat down, took a few bites, and realized the problem was, in fact, everyone else. Eem is a Thai and Texas-style barbecue mash-up that sounds slightly unhinged on paper and makes absolute, beautiful sense once it hits your mouth. This is the kind of fusion that doesn't feel like a gimmick. It feels inevitable. I started with the Sweet & Sour Fried Chicken, one of their most popular dishes, and for good reason. Savory, beautifully fried, shatteringly crisp on the outside, juicy and tender within. Exactly what fried chicken should aspire to be. Then came the Wok-Fried Yu Choy. And dare I say it? The best vegetable dish I've ever had? Yes. I think I dare. Spectacular. Deep, smoky, savory, with enough personality to make you briefly question why you ever needed meat in the first place. But the Smoked Pork Krapow is where they really got me. Krapow is traditionally a dish built around seasoned ground beef, but Eem takes the idea somewhere else entirely, folding in pork belly burnt ends. It sounds like excess. It tastes like genius. Smoky, fatty, spicy, deeply aromatic. Completely blew me away. And then there's the room itself. Warm, colorful, playful, beautifully decorated without trying too hard. The service was just as good. Welcoming, attentive, confident, and Portland hospitable. They know exactly what they're doing. Eem didn't just redeem Portland Thai food for me. It reminded me why you venture out to eat in the first place: to discover something you didn't know you needed. So do yourself a favor. Go to Eem first. Before you start categorizing Portland restaurants as Thai or barbecue, before you begin comparing them to other Thai restaurants, before you get trapped in your own expectations. Just go. Because if "Keep Portland Weird" means anything anymore, surely it means putting Thai food and Texas barbecue together, making it work brilliantly, and serving it with a smirk. Thank you, Eem. You just gave me another very good reason to come back to this weird, wonderful town.
