It was a little hard to find because we'd been to Beacon before (another rooftop bar at the same hotel) so it took us awhile to figure out which way to go. Overall this is a great space to get the rooftop bar vibe without all the crowds. Lots of greenery, great views and seating galore. They even have a giant connect four for the kids. The Bar took awhile but I think they just need more staff/help! Drinks were quite pricey but on par for the area at around $17-20 each. The passionfruit mule was strong and did the job but was a little too sweet for my taste. I think it needs some tartness or freshness added to balance it. The host wasn't very pleasant or accommodating but I don't want that interaction to take away from our experience at the Six. We didn't have reservations but the bar was open. We later found out from the bartender that the deck is also available for seating. We just had to order from the bar if we wanted food and drinks. Had no idea this was in the same location as the Beacon. Still provided a great view and the open seating/floor plan outside was wonderful. We came at a great time before they got real busy. The bartenders were absolutely amazing. They were quick and efficient. We didn't order much of the food since we had to head over to the Kat Williams show, but the food smelled amazing and the crab cake was delicious. It was in the section called Mains and so a sandwich was unexpected. The kid had pasta with red sauce and thought it was too spicy. Our server could have been better. Bar tender was great as he asked if I wanted a water or something to drink while I waited. after 15 minutes he checked the kitchen and said it would be longer but no time given. 45 minutes later I was handed my food, it was a long week for me and I was already tired. I went back to my room to enjoy it and it was not a medium burger but a raw to rare burger. I only ate two bites and felt nauseous after a couple hours. I took advantage of this bar as my 30 dollar food and drink credit from my hotel fee. I was greeted immediately by a friendly host, who allowed me to sit in the bar. Mike and Derek were the bartenders, and said all drinks had a good amount of alcohol. I took the old fashioned (17 dollars), which had liquor poured to the top. The liquor was good and was boozy enough to enjoy. The cherry and citrus added were fresh. I wanted to eat light, so I ordered the burger (20 dollars). I wanted to avoid beef, so I requested chicken instead. The bartender said he will check with the kitchen if they can do that, and came back saying they can. And it was definitely a great burger. The chicken breast was nicely grilled and juicy. The lettuce and tomato were fresh, the cheese was melty, and the bacon added great flavor. The side salad had various nice veggies in a very nice vinegrette. For a light meal, it was delicious and filling. Mike and Derek took great care of me, as well as other customers. There were a couple guests from the Metrocon (TV/movie/comic convention), and they were welcomed warmly as well. They also gave great conversation when needed, providing a great social environment. There was a small dining area, but I only sat in the bar. When I saw the bill, I noticed a 4 dollar extra cost for my drink. When I asked, I noticed that it was premium liquor they used. It would have been awesome if they told me that before I ordered, but I can forgive it as the drink was good and they were able to swap beef to chicken for my burger. Six is a restaurant and bar located on the sixth floor of the JW Marriott in downtown Tampa. It has a nice view and a good vibe for dinner and drinks. I visited in July and it was hot but not too hot to sit outside and have a salad. Dinner with a view was nice and since it wasn't season, I had the terrace all to myself. Being a native Floridian means I can withstand humid nights and hot summers. The best part of a Florida summer means less crowds. The staff were friendly, and very punctual. They didn't offer small bottles of sparkling water. After dinner I felt like the large bottle was too big and excessive. I'd recommend they offer smaller sized bottles for one person. This might be one of my new favorite spots in downtown Tampa and the fact that there's a nice little view is just the cherry on top, because the restaurant itself and the food/drinks are also fantastic. The restaurant itself has a nice date night vibe, it isn't too noisy and the bar is actually in a separate space from the main dining space, so that keeps the dining area feel a bit more intimate and less chaotic. They have outside seating - but in the summer time it feels like you're melting out there, so we opted to sit inside and it was much more pleasant. The outside dining space is probably going to be beautiful when the weather cools down though. We ordered deviled crab cakes, grilled Spanish octopus, and bread service as appetizers. The deviled crab cakes were a crowd favorite at our table. For my main course I ordered the Six Burger, medium. It was cooked perfectly, and it was seasoned great. The burger was delicious honestly lol - I don't usually go to fine dining places and order something like a burger, but I recommend it if you're feeling a burger. The dessert was absolutely phenomenal. 2 of the dessert items were hands-down my favorite items of the evening - the tres leches and the mango gelato. I have never had a piece of cheese served with my gelato - you MUST try this dessert, it will make you question everything lol I ordered the passionfruit mule for my drink - I'd order it again, it was good (I wish it was served in the traditional mule copper mug though) Overall, I loved Six - we'll be back for brunch, and we'll definitely visit the outside dining space when the weather cools down. 10/10 recommend for downtown dining read more

The food was REALLY good! It's definitely on the pricier side and portions aren't huge, but the quality, flavor and craftsmanship are worth the price tag. The $20 burger was amazing, according to my husband. I had the tuna appetizer as my main dish and it was brilliant 4/5!!! The view is beautiful and it's nice and shaded on the patio. My friends and I went here to celebrate a special occasion, and we had a ball! I highly recommend sitting outside to enjoy the beautiful views of downtown Tampa and the bay area. The vibe is very peaceful and relaxing. Tampa needs more rooftop dining places like this! I got the quinoa salad. It was something different than I usually order, but I liked it! Our serve was running inside and out, but she did a great job catering to us. I also was here during Special Operations Forces conference in May 2022. We dined here shortly after the restaurant opened. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The restaurant is on the 6th floor and parking is available in the garage next door which is very convenient (it's like 2$ two parlor free depending on the time length). The valet parking is also validated so I was told. This is located in he Waterstreet area of downtown with views of the Hillsborough River. We had a 2 seat table near or against the wall which wasn't the best table or even ideal for the view and it was also very dimly lit. There was better seating (chairs with low coffee tables) near the edge with the best view, but they may have been reserved. The seating and the low cielings really took away from the "rooftop" vibe as this floor is separated by the pool and lounge area and that is completely roofless and open air, but you can't eat over there. Anyway, our waitress was neither friendly or completely rude she just did her job. She did make a few comments that bothered me like about my weight and how much I eat or what I would eat; I really don't like that. As for her checking on which menu items were gluten free because I have Celiac Disease she did and everything was 100% safe. I am highly sensitive to gluten and had no issues with the food. It did take a while to come out because they said they were making sure everything was gluten free and not cross contaminated so I REALLY appreciate that. I wasn't sure what would be safe for me on the menu which was a deterrent for visiting, but I was very happy with the food. It was all great, it tasted great, it looked great, and everything was safe for me to eat.
