    Delicious Bruschetta BLEU

This restaurant is has a low key vibe. The food is delicious and made with care. The service really depends on the server. Some are Aces and some are not. My favorite appetizer is the bruschetta blu

This was my first time at this restaurant and I have to say, I was extremely impressed!! The veal Parmesan was one of the best I've ever had, the service was impeccable and especially with a table of children! The vibe of the restaurant is really nice! It's a little hidden gem of Chico! I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was amazing. The service was just as amazing! And now has become one of my favorite spots to go! Will definitely be returning!! I wish I could give it more stars!!

    Gluten free calamari

This has been a family staple for generations and they've still got it! Multiple mocktail options available! I had the strawberry mint one and it was spectacular! Antipasti came out as usual, salami, cheese, olives and carrots for all. We ordered garlic bread, bruschetta caprese and gluten free calamari which was amazing! The Caprese was the winner for those who had bread. We ordered gluten free veal piccata, veal Marsala and two scallop entrees. The green salad with half and half balsamic and bleu dressing is still as good as it was years ago! Thanks for keeping this wonderful quality establishment going for so long! The new location looks great on you! Very well deserved.

Absolutely loved our server Rebecca. She was so full of personality and she has wonderful knowledge of the menu. When the dish I wanted was sold out, she recommended the chicken piccata which was amazing. She also recommended that I try the espresso martini. They were Devine. I had 2. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Appetizer. I think this came complimentary if I'm remembering correctly. It was ok

Not bad not bad. Favorite was by far the veal picatta. Savory, salty, tart, and tender. Absolutely delicious. The complimentary bread, oil and balsamic, and the little olive, meat, and cheese plate was fine, but in my opinion, they should just offer one and make them both excellent. Both were fine but nothing to write home about. The chicken soup was the best I ever had and I still think about it. The clam chowder was good but paled in comparison. Service was great. Quick and friendly. No complaints. Ambience was nice, a bit upscale. This place is really popular with elderly folks we noticed. Overall verdict is I'm glad I tried it because i had been wanting to for a long time but it also wasn't good enough for me to want to spend $93 plus tip for 2 people.

Went here during a very busy time of the year so we expected it to be packed. We waited about an hour for food so we were happy we got there early. Our server explained that a big party had come in and slowed some things down. All of the staff were very kind and attentive. The food was very good and I really enjoyed the complimentary veggie, cheese, and salami platter.

Got served the wrong food a couple times but despite the hiccups in the service, the food was really quite good.

Love love LOVE this place. It took me a long time to come here because other reviews made me…read moreskeptical that I would be impressed, but I am, and this has become one of our consistent go-tos. They have absolutely NAILED their Pana Cotta. Normally, I wouldn't be a huge fan of pana cottas as it has come across to gelatin-y in the past, but I get it every time. The service is amazing. It is clear they are aiming to offer an elevated experience. That being said, it is on the longer side of a meal, and I find it much more enjoyable when I accept the leisurely pace and order an appetizer. When I do order an appetizer, the meal seems perfectly paced. Without it, it could seem a bit slow. I've loved the zucchini blossoms, calamari, and Caesar salad. (I do really like the burrata ones as well, but it's just so easy to make on your own from Trader Joes at a much lower premium.) I also love that they offer complementary focaccia, which used to be made in house. I don't believe it is now, but it is still very good. My fave dishes to get are anything with their droolworthy polenta like their chicken or veal saltimbocca (I prefer the chicken) for dinner or their chicken marsala for lunch. The chicken marsala probably is my absolute favorite, which means I HAVE to come here for their lunch sometimes, which are only Thursday and Friday. Really lovely atmosphere. I have and love to sit on their porch but no longer do because of the traffic noise. Chico designed Bruce with the traffic light right there and it's so bad - basically a raceway for meatheads in their loud trucks and motorcycles when the light turns green. Mosquitos absolutely become a problem so while I love that they sometimes put up the garage style doors/windows when the weather is nice to create a lovely indoor/outdoor experience, if you're a mosquito magnet like me, that is not the time for you to come in without mosquito protection. (One time was so bad that even though they closed it, I left with - I kid you not, I counted - no less that 18 mosquito bites on my calf.

Don't get me wrong, they don't…read moreshout your name as you walk in, but what they DO do (hee hee(doodoo)hee hee) is remember their customers likes and dislikes. Willie and Claire almost always have a couple IPAs, porters, or my fav, sours to suggest. I'm not sure if they have a little Jedi blood or what, but they have literally NEVER steered me wrong. Now, about the beers... it's hands down, the best selection and variations in Chico. Hell. Maybe in all of Nor Cal! Another great thing I've been using more of lately are the apps. They are on both Untapped and Digital Pour. Now before I even go, I can see what new stuff has just been tapped or find out how much is left of my obsession of the week (RIP Triple Haole Punch. Our time was much too brief). Next, is what they DONT offer. You want a burger? Go to Macdonald's. You want a Chocolate Martini? Well God help you... This place is for BEER drinkers and is owned by beer geniuses. Full disclosure--They do keep menus of all the restaurants in the Almond Orchard and encourage people to bring in and wash it down with, I don't know, maybe a beer? So you've got a Pho place a Chinese place, Mexican, and Round Table, etc. Plus, if you ask nicely, they keep bags of chips behind the bar. Today I ordered some flamingo swag off Amazon. It wasn't because of my fetish for long legged pink birds though. Well, maybe a little...Mostly though it was because every Friday they run a great promotion. Anybody wearing flamingo garb gets 10% off their bill as well as a flamingo bottle opener. How can that be anything short of awesome, and today I got to get a pic posted to their Instagram page of me holding the Keg Killer trophy for, you guessed, killing the last of a keg. They also have a pretty epic game room with all the staple bar games. I personally dig the super sized version of Jenga that they have, although if you haven't guessed by now, I'm usually there for the beer. Let's see, what am I forgetting? Beer...Digital Pour...beer...food...Jenga...Keg Killer...excellent selection and knowledge. Oh yeah! They also have a super nice outdoor patio area so you can take your beer for a walk. Look. This place started off trying to just be a good neighborhood taproom for people who like lots of different kinds of high end beers for a decent price, and somewhere along the way turned into a completely awesome one. I could probably keep rambling on about how great they are, but I'm suddenly feeling parched so I'm just going head down there now. I hope to see you all there (although stay off the barstool on the left corner as you walk in... that's MINE)
