    Steak in a Sack

We came back and brought the whole family. Service was very attentive and nice. Food was good. Space is a little cramped. Otherwise it is our go-to place for dinner here in MacClenny, FL.

18 fried shrimp with fries and coleslaw.

I had fried shrimp with fries and coleslaw. Shrimp was ok. The fries were ok. Coleslaw was great. They also have a very large salad bar with soup and lots of options. I wish I would have seen the salad first because I would have gotten that instead of the shrimp.... Service was very friendly. Restaurant was super busy and did take a little while to get our food but no big deal. Understandable because all tables were full.

My cousin took me out to dinner at Sixth Street Steakhouse in Macclenny, FL and I was very impressed with the dining experience. My cousin told me this is one of a few nice places to eat in town, so I was looking forward to trying this place out for the first time. Our server was wonderful and very professional. She gave us great customer service and took care of us very well. I immediately saw the salad bar in the rear of the restaurant and was very happy! It is rare that you see salad and soup bars in restaurants in Indy, so to see a salad bar makes me happy like a little kid, because I love me a good salad and soup bar. I ordered the grilled salmon with green beans and baked potato, and the endless soup and salad bar. For a steakhouse, it was excellent! The grilled salmon was wonderful and tasted great. The green beans were good and baked potato was done just right. The endless soup and salad bar was impressive and had quite the selection of condiments. They had banana pudding for dessert on the salad bar, and it was magnificent!! Tomato Florentine was the featured soup of the day and it was very good as well. Our server kept an eye on us the entire time and made sure we were well taken care of, so we had nothing but excellent customer service throughout the meal. The ambiance of the steakhouse was a Western style decor that suited the restaurant very well and was attractive looking to the naked eye, so I liked it and made me feel at home during my meal. For a hole in the wall steakhouse, this was magnificent and terrific to go to for dinner. I now know next time I come visit my cousin, we will come here for dinner because it is a great experience and reasonably priced as well. The customer service is superb, and it is a pleasure to dine here. Everyone coming to Macclenny, FL needs to experience Sixth Street Steakhouse. It is worth it!!

Our server was very nice and she answered all of our questions, of which we had many! We were able to sit outside on a nice spring morning before it got too hot. Needless to say this the Metro diner truly surpassed my expectations. We walked in and were greeted immediately and asked if we would like to sit outside which is a covered area or indoors. We chose inside given it being a hot humid day and wanting that extra comfort. The vibe felt amazing with all the smiles and yes even though busy all the wait staff was hopping doing their business! We were seated and told about the specials and given the menu. I was unsure what I wanted because I think I could have eaten a little bit of everything! I did ask the waitress a couple of suggestions and one of them was the pancakes I had chosen. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day! How cool is that and rare. They had a chicken and waffle special that was actually half a chicken ( pieces ) fried with Belgium waffles, powdered sugar and sweet strawberry butter served with their signature sweet and spicy sauce. I'll be honest when I had seen someone else get their plate I was surprised. It looked absolutely incredible and well tremendous. On their specials they had banana pudding pancakes or waffles, this also sounded amazing. It had walnuts, butter and powdered sugar and definitely banana. I am most certainly glad that I chose this as it was incredibly. Super fluffy, flavorful and the banana was not overwhelming there was a perfect balance of flavors. There was a sauce on them that I assume was the banana pudding. It was light and just enough to not overpower the pancake itself. We had also ordered croissant French toast and my son absolutely loved them. They were crispy on the outside yet fluffy and flavorful with a fantastic texture topped with some powdered sugar. Some ordered hash browns, these were also delicious and homemade with a great texture and the portion like all the other dishes pretty large. We had all tried the biscuits and gravy. These too were delicious with such a nice balance of flavors. The biscuits indeed homemade. We were all very pleased with everything. Some eggs over easy and bacon cooked perfectly. The coffee honestly the best I've had in years. I'm a coffee drinker and I cannot figure this coffee was outstanding! I had four cups and wish for more ha ha. Best of all I must compliment the service. I have not been to a restaurant of any sort with such attentive service, quality service as we received here in years. The waitress kept refilling my coffee and water, brought my son more soda ( even a container to take his home ) asked everyone if they needed anything at appropriate times and was extremely kind and considerate. I will be back and I highly recommend the Metro Diner for a great meal, quality service and relaxed environment that you will enjoy. Our server was kind, but not overly friendly (I don't want a performance, you know?). And our food came out maybe 10 minutes after we ordered. We were early enough to order the Sunrise Special and the egg portions seemed surprisingly large! The grits were lovely. The bacon was not the best, it's thin cut (reminiscent of microwave bacon) and I prefer it to be thick. I ordered the eggs Benedict and really enjoyed it. The hollandaise could have had a touch more seasoning, but the texture was great. I actually preferred the Canadian bacon that came on it than the regular bacon that came with the Sunrise Special. It was perfectly salty and crisp. Oh! And it came with crab meat on it which was a special twist I didn't expect but really appreciated. The potatoes are cut into large chunks, but they are well seasoned and cooked nicely. I can't stand when a potato is undercooked, but this place didn't have that problem. And the cherry on top was the water. Florida locals may not be bothered by the ocean-y taste that comes with their drinking water, but for our family it is something that's hard to get past. We were pleasantly surprised to find that this water tasted as if it was filtered and the ice is that soft kind that's pleasant to chew. This might seem like a silly thing to add, but it really stood out to me and I'm grateful for it.
