Still not great service. This place needs an upgrade in more ways than one. Go here if you are ok waiting forever to be served and are ok with dirty tables and slow service. A wine bar is supposed to be chill, but this place was everything but that. I stayed to get a drink, just to see how long it would take and I was pissed. Clean up the space, get better service and don't crowd folks into small areas. I'm sure outdoor seating is nice, but I had time to watch servers take over 10 minutes to take care of their tables (when it wasn't busy). I actually contacted the owner and he was very rude to me, so this place is a no go if you're downtown. Go somewhere else. Plenty of good drinks, and service, down the street. read more

I really enjoyed sitting outside next to the river. The area was shaded at about 5:30 pm, but by 6:00 or so the sun was over our table. We started off with two beers, a stout and a saison. Yes, two beers, not wine. They have a very nice selection of beer too! The waiter went through a bit of trouble to get a review on the stout before we purchased it. The beer was bottled, so there was no way to taste it. We ordered the goat cheese bruschetta which was excellent. I would definitely order it again. I wasn't able to cut it, so I had to pick it up with my fingers which was slightly messy, but good. The chicken flatbread was very good too. We couldn't finish both appetizers, we were full. This place is definitely one you want to take your boo or spend a day with the girls.   I LOVE that their charcuterie comes with fruit, nuts, jams and these delicious cheese crackers. Updated review for my recent visits here. I love Sixty Four Wine Bar so I always suggest coming here when meeting with friends. COVID Updates: They have a massive tent outside to accommodate for current times. There's a solid floor in there, real chairs, and they did a really great job setting up. There was even a live band when I visited! All of the staff members were wearing masks and promoting the use of the QR code menu to avoid unnecessary contract with the menus. There wine is always great here, obviously. During my most recent visit a few weeks ago, it was a chilly rainy Saturday night. It took quite some time for our waiter to make his way to our table but we were all catching up anyways so we didn't mind. We got a few bottles of wine to start for our group and some charcuterie platters and apps. As one of the assistant servers was reaching to put down my friend's full iced-water glass, he accidentally spilled it over his entire back and the chair. He apologized right away but seemed very embarrassed and left immediately. About 5-10 minutes later, our normal server reappeared and we mentioned what happened. He said "Oh no", and grabbed some small kitchen towels. This would have been more than fine if he had spilled a small amount on his arm or something but the ice water was spilled down his shirt on his entire back and had to sit through the dinner on a cold night with a soaked shirt. Something our server could have done was offer a complimentary drink or something and made the apology more sincere. We spent a good amount on this dinner and drinks here and I was really bummed to see how the situation was handled. On the bright side, I ordered the braised beef short rib with the mashed potatoes, crispy onions, and red wine sauce and it was exceptional. The beef fell off my fork it was so tender and the crispy onions were such a great combo with the sauce (this dish is also GF for anyone that's curious.) This is a great spot ! So fun to be able to sample so many different wines in small amounts and at your own pace . The whole concept of the place is fun and unique . The food was also delicious. We did a private party in their reserve room for my son's engagement. Everything was amazing, they were very accommodating from how we imagined the layout to customized music. The bartender (Lorraine) and server (Chris) were great. They made the experience truly exceptional. My husband took me to Sixty-Four Wine Bar for my first Mother's Day. I had never been here before and it was very nice. I loved the self-service wine tasting. They give you a card and then you use the card to get as many wine tastings as you would like for as many ozs as you like. Each wine is a different price and obviously the more ounces you get the more money it will cost. At the end, they collect your card and add that to your bill. I think it makes wine tasting much more individualized and I really like the set up. The food is amazing too. We went for Mother's Day Brunch so there was a limited menu. I ordered the crab cakes which were to die for! They were creamy and rich, packing a ton of flavor. Yet, even though they were rich, it still felt light and I was easily able to eat the entire thing without having to take some home. For dessert, we ordered the crumble which was warm, sweet, and tart. It had the perfect consistently. We absolutely loved our food here and the wine drinking experience. They even have one person who refills your water, as soon as it's a little low. Wednesday they have a Wine Tower special and it seemed pretty popular. We didn't partake as we drove in downtown so we settled on a couple of their cocktails with our meal. I hate committing to a glass of wine so this was perfect for me to try different wines and maybe even try those more expensive wines. I got food and wine. With a big group it would be easier if they can put my food bill directly on my wine card versus having them separate. The flourless chocolate cake with gelato was very tasty! I haven't had many good flourless cakes but this one was perfect and tasted like a brownie! I don't like the layout. It is so crowded and hard to get in between the tables and the various wine dispensers. They are working with limited space though so there is not much that can be done about that. Service was slow. I booked a private business dinner at SixtyFour and cannot rave enough about the overall experience. Starting with the initial planning which was so meticulously captured by the Events Manager (Cheryl), she went above and bevond to customize the event to my needs in a simple and easy process. The menu selection was fantastic for the price and offered a nice variety to accommodate my guests' varying needs including gluten free and nut allergy. The day of the event, guests mingled in the entry way as they utilized the self-serve wine dispensers. Such a fun way to try a variety of wines or stick to what you know and love. We loved the flexibility! Dinner service was top notch. The food was fresh and prepared exactly as anticipated. Our servers, Lorraine and Will, were diligent in assuring the guest with a nut allergy she had nothing to fear, as her meal was prepared away from the others. This guest commented at the end of the night how thankful she was for them going the extra mile to reassure her. The pace of the event was perfect. It allowed guests to have great conversations, grab a refill when they needed and mingle amongst the room. I loved the intimate setting that the room offered. I wasn't quite sure what to expect at this wine bar. I was told food was limited there so we would head there after dinner to do our own little wine tasting. I visited Sixty Four with 3 of my best drinking girlfriends (I mean their tolerance levels are ridiculously high) for a fun Saturday night in downtown Naperville. We walked in and were greeted instantly and shown to our table. Our server asked for our DI or credit card to begin the tasting. I thought the card exchange was a bit weird because I didn't understand the full process: you give up your license or credit card in exchange for a wine card. My first thought was why would I want to do that? Well, the wine card is your access card to rack up wine samplings. I was still confused. Basically you get a wine card that you can rent out in exchange for your ID or CC or you can purchase a membership on your own. You take the card to each of the little wine stations, insert, pick your wine, pick your number of ounces to sample, stick a glass under the dispenser and voila! You are sampling wine through a cute little wine dispenser. Sort of like a wine vending machine. Love it. Or like Dave and Busters where you insert card and play! Pros: you can try very expensive bottles of wine for like $11 an ounce. You can try many wines that you may have seen before but weren't sure if you'd like OR you can just do what I did and sample just about everything. I had tons of wine and only spent $10. LOL Cons: some of the selections were a bit cheap, picks that you could find in the grocery store. So it's fair to say either I'm an experienced wine enthusiast OR this cute spot needs to step the assortment game up a bit. Probably a little of both! Tried the truffle fries they were pretty good. Convenient parking deck located just across street from this restaurant. Reserved a table for two for a 5:30pm Saturday evening seating inside the restaurant. I was greeted promptly and sat quickly. Tables for two are rather close to one another, but comfy. Our waiter welcomed us in no time and explained the "wine stations" to us which were a short walk away from our table. I enjoyed the concept of trying all of their wines via multiple stations. You can choose a 1, 3 or 6 oz pour. Simply putting in the card they provide you with keeps track of which wine and how much you're retrieving. I could see getting into trouble this way and losing track of how much $$$ you are spending on varying choices of wine. Our appetizer of the bruschetta was pretty good. We enjoyed it despite an annoying fly buzzing around our table that just didn't seem to want to leave us alone. My friend ordered the NY strip steak, but she wasn't too crazy about whatever sauce they had on it. She said she wouldn't order it again. I got the fish tacos, which I quite enjoyed & would order again. All-in-all, it was a good experience, but the fly was annoying. I ended up really enjoying their Daou 2022 Savignon Blanc Paso Robles and made a few trips for 3 oz pours of that one (maybe even a 6 oz?), but that was my favorite of the time I was there! read more

This is a great establishment to try a variety of wines! They have wine machines inside and will give you a card in order to access the wines. I opted for a wine flight, as they are 15% off on Wednesdays. They have a full dinner menu as well but I wanted to just have a small snack with my wine. I have been to SixtyFour several times before and it's always been ok. However, after my latest experience at this restaurant I will not be back and will be advising you to do the same. To begin with, our waitress was very cold with us. I thought maybe she was having an off day but then I observed her with other tables and it was a completely different person. Cracking jokes and smiling to everyone one else. All the other servers were perfectly nice. The food was ok. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything extraordinary either. The wine list is very extensive and really that's the appeal. The problem started when it came time to pay. When the waitress brought our bill, the check was significantly bigger than we expected. Upon inspection we realized that we were being charged for 8 glasses of wine. We were a two party and only had 3 glasses. When we pointed out the error to our waitress, she kept insisting that the system could not be wrong, that the wine was charged in chronological order, and that we must have pressed more buttons/drank more wine than we were saying. We continued to the explain that (A) the list was not in chronological order as the first glass we poured was the second to last on the list; (B) we only had two glasses on the table (nothing else had been cleared away); and (C) we had only poured 3 drinks (and that's because the second drink we tried to pour was supposed to be 6oz and it only gave us 3oz). We asked to speak to a manager and our request was denied by the waitress saying she was a manager. We continued to explain that the bill was wrong and we were met with accusatory looks and words. The waitress finally asked the general manager to step in. We proceeded to explain to the manager what was wrong and the same thing happened. We even asked them to check their cameras but they ignored our request. Finally and reluctantly the manager took off the extra charges from our tab. That took 10 minutes. The manager was rude. He said waiters tend bar at all restaurants after I told him our waiter was too busy tending bar. This is very unfortunate because the food was good. It's been almost a year since my first review of Sixty Four and I'm happy to give an update. Maybe it's the fact that I came back at 5pm on a Saturday as opposed to 9pm, or maybe it's because this wine bar is now a well oiled machine, but either way we had an excellent experience. I made a reservation for an early dinner for four to celebrate Father's day with my in-laws a day early. They had never been to Sixty Four so I thought it would be fun for us all to catch up while trying different wines. And it was! Truly, we didn't need a reservation at that time because there were plenty of tables, but I'd say make one just in case. It's easy enough to do online. Our waitress was helpful and explained the concept to the group. She greeted us right away, told us the specials, and got us started on wine. We ended up chatting around one of the center tables for a while as we sampled some wine, but finally migrated back to our table to order food. We started with some cheese and charcuterie and it was a delicious spread! Per usual I loved the prosciutto, but everything was really good. The bacon jam and jalapeño jelly was really unique. My husband and I then split the the soft shell crab po boy which was on special. We were told the crab was definitely from Maryland and it was delicious! Crunchy breading on the outside, juicy crab on the inside - all wrapped up in a buttery roll. Yum! My experience this time around was much more relaxed and service was great. What a FUN wine bar! I'd definitely go back when I'm in Naperville. This is a perfect spot to try some different wines, enjoy the experience of the "wine vending machine". I went there Saturday night with my husband and another couple. We chose some wine and walked around until we found a place to stand and talk. It was crowded but we had a good time.
