4/29/26 Had dinner at the Fountain Valley, CA Sizzler. It was a great dinner experience. I was impressed & happy that my steak was perfect. Usually Chefs don't like to cook a steak Med Well & it turns out dry. But my steak was juicy & delicious!! I asked for Chefs name & it's Lorenzo. When I'm in the mood for steak, I'll definitely ask if Lorenzo is the Chef. He was the best!! Our waitress Elizabeth was sweet & friendly. We usually go to the Lake Forest location but ended up being here recently since we were in the area running errands. I ordered the steakhouse ribs and chicken. The ribs were 85%fat with hardly any lean meat. I ended up not eating any of the meat on the plate after cutting in the first two pieces of ribs and saw a thick layer of fat on each. My husband had the fisherman platter. It took forever and ever to get his platter and it was a humongous plate. The small shrimp were tiny and coated with thick batter. Same with that two pieces of fish. Hardly any fish but mostly batter coating. Salad bar was just okay. I'd prefer the salad bar at their Lake Forest location. Visiting from Hawaii, had a craving to dine at Sizzlers. Since we no longer have one there. Came for the Steak & lobster dinner for $29.99. The steak & lobster was cooked and seasoned just right. Asked for my steak to be cooked well done and it was cooked perfect and to my satisfaction. Craving satisfied! Service- quick and we didn't have to wait long for our meal. One great thing about my meal was that it was still warm when it was bought to my table. Ambiance- clean, and well maintained . Great place to dine if you're ever in the area. read more

We love Sizzler and was so excited there was one close to where we were staying in Huntington Beach. The atmosphere brought back so many memories, and so did the delicious food, especially the cheese bread. The staff each time we went were so helpful, welcoming, and on top of everything. Our food came hot and ready, and I did not have to wave them down for more shrimp, lol. We would definitely recommend this Sizzler location to our friends and family. read more

So we finally made it to a Sizzler and it happened to be Veterans Day too. Location was conveniently located close to the 405 fwy and parking was shared with other businesses in the same plot. Let's just say this establishment was way cleaner and well-lit than other locations we've visited in the past. The cashier was super helpful and friendly. Appreciated how he went above making sure we ordered what we wanted and made us feel very welcomed. Found our booth and was greeted right away by our server with cheese toast. My husband got the complementary meal (16oz. Tri-Tip Sirloin) with beverage, my daughter chose the crispy-bacon burger meal with fries. I had my unlimited salad. Food items looked fresh and cleanly organized in the self-serve salad bar. -not pictured: unlimited wings and chicken nuggets, and spaghetti with marinara sauce. We were stuffed! There is something nostalgic about Sizzler - in a way, their menu, business model & ambiance has been preserved since the 1990s. How it works: A bit of the fast casual vibe, when you come in, you order at the cashier, then you take your tray, utensils, beverage to table of your choosing and one of the servers will pick up your receipt to bring your food out. In the interim if you have gotten the salad bar, you can get it on your own. Highlights: Free endless cheesy bread, a salad bar that'll help make you miss the Soup Plantation Closure a little less and a steak and potato meal that'll do the trick, but is definitely not fancy like a steakhouse. My favorite is the 6 ounce sirloin meal with a side + small salad (one visit to the salad bar), the best compromise of everything you want. The salad bar was well kept during dinner hours with staff cleaning things up and things were well stocked. The refrigeration mechanism was strong, it think my peas were getting a little frozen. Sad that these Sizzler's are being closed one by one, so glad to see this one alive and hopefully thriving with a long line nearly out the door some nights. read more

I've been way adventurous with food in recent years that when I went back to this place 2 weeks ago I got sentimental..all the familiar favorites are still here and we were in the mood to eat. The best salad bar in town. Staff are always so nice, the ambiance always so cozy and comfortable. Got a bit of everything--all the creamy salads, tried small portions of the soups, got some chicken and potatoes. Skipped the pasta but definitely helped myself with the taco and tortilla chips bar. This is a favorite of my hubs and I. The salad bar is well maintained, as well as fresh and appealing. The steak is always as requested. And of course the cheese toast takes us back to our youth. Sure the last review was a year ago, but let me just say we've come to Sizzler plenty of times since the last Yelp. This time it was for my birthday celebration and going to the grand kids favorite help your self spots. I love seeing them grow up with Sizzler where they now are actually ordering steaks rather than the multi items of the salad bar. Steak and shrimp is a favorite and this time the youngest one and for the first time, orders steak and lobster!! She loved it. The lovely missus and I are happy with the senior salad bar as we both can scoop up what we like. Soups are always my first trip and this time I had clam Chowder and a fantastically flavored beef/beans soup. I am also taking in the chicken wings and spaghetti and meatballs. There is enough yummy cheese toast for all of us. Yes, I do the green vegies with blue cheese dressing, and then have a super fruits topped with vanilla and chocolate soft ice cream ending. We sat at a table where we watched on the monitor the Rams football win. Sizzler's service and wide selection of the salad bar as well as steaks, brings us back many times during the year. read more

7-12-2025 One of my gfs & I were craving a salad bar. We use to go to the Sizzler in LA Mirada when I lived in the area, which since has closed. My bf and I use to go to this Sizzler before Covid. I noticed that I haven't done a review for this establishment. I miss Souplantation and Sizzler is the closest with a decent salad bar. They had 3 bases - spinach, iceberg and spring mix. Lots of veggies - beets, carrots, olives,etc They have a selection of 3 soups. Hot food bar, - spaghetti, chicken nuggets, and make your own tacos or nachos. Salad bar had fresh ingredients, all you can eat cheese toast and desserts- jello, banana pudding, soft serve ice cream with toppings. Service was friendly and tables were cleared of plates quickly. Haven't been to dinner here in years but my cousins wanted to take the hubby and I so we went. The restaurant was older looking but this is how sizzlers had always looked. You order your food and then you go pick a table and can go to the salad bar if you added it on with your meal which is what we all did. At the salad bar there was a build your own tacos, wings, chips, gauc and I think salsa. There were 3 or 4 different soups such as broccoli cheddar, clam chowder, and I think chili and something else. A variety of salads and build your own salads, cheeses, veggies and such and an ice cream area with good toppings such as brownies, sprinkles and other candies. Once our entree came out it looked decent. Steak was a little over cooked and the shrimp was crispy but could have been more. The potato was good but feels like you can't go wrong with that. Overall food was bad, don't expect much lol service was good and the place was okay looking and oh can't forget the bread they give you, that was good! read more

Visiting from the Bay Area, it was great to come enjoy Sizzler which was a mainstay while growing up in SoCal. This location was efficient, the service from Tony was very friendly and attentive, and it hit the spot for dinner! The salad bar was always full for both the cold side (which included the usual toppings and dressings as well as additional salads) and the hot side (which included the taco/chip bar and spaghetti & fried chicken wings). My favorite bleu cheese dressing was on point and all of the toppings were fresh. And the cheese bread was toasty and delicious. We also enjoyed the classic malibu chicken with a loaded potato which was piping hot and creamy. All in all - a great visit and hope to get back again soon! read more

2nd time here. This isn't your parents Sizzlers. The salad bar has soups, tacos and desserts. Service is fast and friendly . Food is good and just the right amount. Flavorful, juicy and tasty. Nice variety of food choices. A little pricey but that's a sign of the times. Easy to get to: just park and walk in. I don't think I have ever been in a line but that's probably a function of going there during half hours. Food is good. Besides the salad bar, you can order an entrée for steak or shrimp. It's a buffet salad bar so if that's what you want, the meal is quick and you're out of there in no time. They have desserts (ice cream, a rice pudding I think, Jell-O) and side dishes as part of the salad bar order. Well. . .Years ago we had stopped coming here. But I began noticing all the cars parked in the lot, a possible sign of great eats! The other day I printed a coupon for a free add- on salad bar. Yesterday I used it at about 3:00 p.m. There were folks dining but not crowded. I was able to order a child's burger for $6.99 thanks to the manager because I am not a big eater. It was large enough for me! The salad bar was well stocked with fresh salad ingredients, cottage cheese, and maybe four soups. You can request the cheese toast. The breaded chicken wings are delicious! Deserts were canned peaches, jello (no thanks!), banana pudding, chocolate brownies with chocolate and vanilla ice cream. YUM! Had a surprisingly great meal here! The salad bar was terrific! Service was good, too! Nice waiter. The staff is constantly tending to the salad bar so everything looked fresh. The decor is a bit dated, but everything is very clean. A few gnats spotted by the window facing the parking lot but it was raining the day I went, so it was damp outside. I wanted to do Sizzler again which is only an occasional thing so I gave this location another try the other day and I'm glad I did. Way better than the last time I was there. The food was quite good. Not excellent but good for what it is. The salad bar items were fresh, good variety and the hot foods were hot or at least an acceptable temperature. The chicken noodle soup had good flavor and the wings were crunchy albeit a little too salty. The cheese toast had good texture and flavor like I remember years ago. Small steak , cook as you order, bake potato , with ingredients, garlic toast (Yummy), Salad, a drink of your choice and perhaps sneak a little soup if choice. Wait that's not all...an ice scream cone or cup on your way out. Sure, you can spend $1 dollars less on greasy & or even but you can't say a steak dinner isn't a better choice. The answer, perhaps, lies in what Sizzler is oft misconstrued as being: a place of worship: a palace of food. But this eatery is far more than that, much the same way a telescope shows us more than merely the night sky; both the telescope and the Sizzler reveal to us, properly speaking, the heavens of places like Denny's or HomeTown Buffet. "Do the heavens not shout forth praise?" as Annie Dillard has said. Does Sizzler not reveal to us more about ourselves in a visit--indeed, with each bite? In this way, we see Sizzler for what it really is: a philosophy much like that of Democritus or Descartes or La Rochefoucauld. Sizzler offers steamy slivers of steaks, stiff puddings, and gloriously one-sided toast, to be sure, but it also proffers a way of being--a tao. My first visit sated my hunger but whetted a deeper desire. It revealed to me that every other meal before this should not be taken for granted. It demonstrated, with each painstaking bite, the joys of even the coldest of vending machine sandwiches. It made me wish I could tuck into a tepid can of Chef Boyardee. It is wrong for me to dissuade you from eating here using only words or pictures. Indeed, my hope is that whatever talisman or curse I can muster will serve its effect and cause this place to go bust. The world would be a better place if this was a parking lot.
