    Ribeye Steak
    Katrina V.

Tried this place for a Friday lunch and we were the only ones there at noon. Service was slow which was a surprise. Our meal came with a free boba drink. The steak was a thin ribeye. Flavors were ok. interesting concept but not sure if i'll be coming back as it was ok

This place has improved over the years and I just came back today with a friend to eat. I had gotten the ribeye steak with fries and mashed potatoes. My friend had gotten the steak garlic noodles. We also got golden fries fish balls which are always a hit every time. The total came out to $54 which isn't bad at all. Service is fast and there are new things added to the menu that I'm excited to try next time.

Place is big and spacious, plenty of parking since it's in a big strip mall. The service is very nice and politely. Some of the foods we want to tried are not available here then one in Irvine (per the server said since they're short staff here). The foods are just aok, nothing appealing much (except the pics). The meat was bla...tasteless without the sauces but the fried was great, crispy outside and soft inside, perfectly fried. And the noodle was ok, I had better before and plenty of it. I wasn't disappointed since with the prices, you kind of wonder if it could be that good, and no it wasn't, just aok. I should have order the hot pot instead since they're known for it. Oh well, next time.

Service was great. Lots of variety on their menu. Good came quick and had good flavor. A little salty for me, but I have a low tolerance. The stock was flavorful with a good ginger flavor.

My friends and I came here for dinner, but most of us didn't order the hot pot. The one friend who did didn't finish her meal or rave about it, so take that as you will. That said, here's a review of the other entrees. We arrived on a Monday night at 9 PM, and there was no wait; we were practically the only customers. Most of us ordered the ribeye steak (medium) with different side options. I went with French fries and broccoli. They also gave us a hilariously pathetic side salad. Literally just a handful of lettuce with a squirt of vinegar. Ribeye Steak: 3/5 Mediocre at best. Given the price, I wasn't expecting a high-quality cut, but it was still underwhelming. The hot griddle made it messy to eat since the steak juices were leaking everywhere, some even spilled off the wooden tray. The fries were crispy, the broccoli was just blanched with no seasoning, and none of the sauces were particularly good (not that steak really needs sauce imo). For the price, Red Flame is fine. It gives off Denny's vibes: you're not really here for the food but if there's nothing else to eat (which, by the way, there is. Sabrosada is across the plaza), it'll do.

I visited Red Flame for the first time and was really excited about their menu! They have individualized hot pot, quite a range of drinks, and steaks. It's also pretty affordable (our steak was a little over $20 - it was huge AND included sides)! Side note, I noticed that the waitstaff are pretty hands-off and there were only 2 other parties on a weekend evening. I liked the steak and the portions but the sides (mashed potato and fries) were unfortunately a little lackluster. The mashed potato was lacking flavor and kind of reminded me of powdered mashed potatoes. I also tried their lychee lemonade; if you like sweet, syrupy lemonades then this is for you, but personally did not find it refreshing.

We came on a Monday night and it was not busy with plenty of tables. Everything on the menu was under $23 dollars. The hotpots were $15.95. Honestly, this was such a great value! I live in San Jose and this would be $23-26 just for the hotpot. All the appetizers were great! My favorite was the egg rolls. My friend and I split the house special hot pot and the steak. The hot pot had great flavors but not a lot of toppings. The meat was overly cooked and too dried. The steak was tender and came with three different types of sauces. Overall, a good valued place with good food. There were only two waiters and they tried their best to keep up with all the orders and requests (we were a party of 11 with 3 kids).

My family came here on a weekday for lunch for a graduation party. There was only one other party there besides us. Service: 3/5 We made reservations for our group of 14 and when we got there, the tables were not set up. I understand that they were still in a soft opening phase, but their service was incredibly slow. I know we had a large party, but took about 40 minutes to get all the food out. Some members of the party finished their whole meal before others got their food. I also wanted to share that they might be understaffed and we feel bad for the waitress. She was the only person in the front and she was taking order, refilling broth, bringing out our foods, and answering the phone. If they had a full restaurant, I don't know how they could have managed this with just one server. Food: 3/5 The food was decent. My point of reference is Boiling Point, and I think BP is better. Their hotpot was flavorful and the dipping sauce for the meat was good. Their steak however was almost inedible (see photo). The steak was 60% chewy fat. We had two people in our party order the steak, one was decent, the other was terrible so they need to be more consistent with their cuts. They ended up comping the fatty steak so we're grateful for that. My advice would be to not order a steak at the hotpot specializing restaurant. Lastly, I just wanted to mention that this place had a Yelp check-in for a free drink. The check-in was active on Yelp and did not have an expiration or anything. After we all checked in, the waitress said they were not honoring the check-in. Please take it off your page if it is no longer valid.

I was craving for hot pot for a week and finally got my craving fix today. My husband ordered the Thai Hot Pot and I ordered House Special Hot Pot. Both hot pot came with a boba drink. I ordered the lychee lemonade and my husband ordered the mango lemonade. Lychee lemonade was mediocre but the mango lemonade was good. Great service but we were the only customers at the restaurant. Probably because of the construction that's happening. I enjoyed my House Special Hot Pot a lot more than my husband's. My house special came with ramen, beef balls, fish cake, Napa cabbage, slice beef. Soup base had some lemongrass flavored. Ambiance is typical like Boiling point. It is spacious at this restaurant.

For a place that has ramen, pho, steak, and hot pot, you wouldn't think it would be good. But everything my family ordered was decent! I got the Tonkatsu ramen and my partner had the Miso ramen. Though not as authentic as it would be at a Japanese ramen shop, it was decent and a lot of food! It also included a soy sauce egg which was a little too salty but I could see other people loving that. You can get your ramen mild, hot, extra spicy, or not spicy. I was surprised that mild was enough to tickle my throat. With every entree, everyone also got a free drink! Not sure how long they're doing that for so go get yours soon.

I love me some red flame. However, I go there not for their hot pot, but their steak. I'm no steak snob, I just like tasty food. The steak is pretty good, and their sauces are great too. It's a hearty amount of food for $20 with two sides and the sizzling from the steak they bring on a hot rock makes me happy. The restaurant is nice and clean, a modern place to eat at. The service is good, and the food will usually take around 20 minutes to come out, an expected amount of time.

    Dianna N.

The food is decent when you need a quick fix. I came here a few weeks ago and ordered a steak medium rare; it came out rare. This time, I ordered the garlic noodles with filet mignon and the meat is definitely not filet mignon. It tastes like the nem nuong meat they have at Brodard. Service would be at a 1/5 if anything. We've asked for additional napkins and water several times, but they seldom bring them. There's currently construction going on so the outside looks boarded up. The inside is spacious for the most part.

    Literally the worst pot ever
    Christina H.

the WORST hotpot we had ever....which is crazy because how do you mess up hot pot! I've had so many different hot pot places growing up and I never had a bad one until now. I got the lamb and the soup was super bland and boring. The amount of lamb they gave was less than a handful (crazy -it was literally 4 pieces for me and mainly nappa). There was barely any of the other seafoods or vegetables in the pot. Not to mention, it also took 45 minutes for our order to come out. To be fair, it was a full house on a Saturday but they only had TWO workers. Everytime we asked them about our order, they would LITERALLY scuff or roll their eyes and walk away? Like huh? When we got our order finally, it was low-key cold (for hotpot) and they forgot to light the fire under so took us another 5 min to flag them down to heat it up. Overall, I don't blame the workers for being understaffed. The restaurant needs to put in more employees or close half the restaurant so the workers don't get overwhelmed. Everyone in the restaurant was complaining so overall, the vibes weren't it. This place was definitely not worth it.

We always order the Butaton ramen, and it never steers us wrong. It's consistently satisfying and comforting. Between the two rice bowl options, I definitely prefer the chashu over the beef. The chashu just has more flavor and pairs better with the ramen in my opinion. If you're deciding between the two, I'd go chashu every time. I also love how the meal flows: - The side salad adds that fresh start to the meal. -The rice bowl gives you something hearty and savory. * And then you finish strong with the ramen. Highly recommended! 5/5 The servers and chef were very nice, and it's casual seating (you just seat yourself). Service was quick, and for the price, I'd say it's a good value.

Service was friendly when I stopped by for a late lunch and we were warmily greeted by the staff. We dined in and there are about 10 seats available to sit at or you can order take out which is what most people do. They have a variety of options to choose from, I went with the spicy salmon and scallop hand rolls and both were delicious. The salmon carpaccio and spicy edamame we ordered as appetizers was also solid. They brought out our handrolls as they finished making them and spaced it out so not everything came out all at once which I liked. The free salad was refreshing and a good palate cleanser. They also offer fresh wasabi for an extra charge which I liked. Overall, this is a solid spot for handrolls and sushi and I recommend coming here if you want something on the lighter side that isn't too heavy compared to the other spots in Rodeo 39! A 7.5/10

Back again for another ramen craving!…read more We started with the corn cheese, bacon-wrapped enoki, and filet mignon appetizers! all so good. We usually stick to our go-to ramen orders: my boyfriend always gets the original Tonkotsu, and I get the spicy version. Our favorite add-ons are shoyu egg, extra mushrooms, corn, fresh garlic paste, and chili paste, which make the bowls even better. For drinks, my boyfriend had a draft Sapporo beer while I got the yuzu lemonade. The lemonade was super refreshing and paired perfectly with all the food we ordered. Service is always spot on, and the food stays consistently delicious every time. That's exactly why we keep coming back!

We we seated immediately because there were a couple bar seats open. It took a bit to get our order in because they were so busy, but it was nice just watching the people behind the counter make drinks. There were no physical menus and we scanned a QR code to see the menu. We ordered a couple things off the happy hour menu and loved it! Scallop Crudo - probably my favorite dish from the night! the sauce was tangy and citrusy, which was perfect for me. Tom Kha Ramen - This is a hit every time and I was so happy to see it on the happy hour menu. I'm not normally a ramen fan, but the broth is great! Corn cheese - A standard corn cheese IMO Beef Curry - DELICIOUS and had SO MUCH meat. I think this was so worth the price! Yuzu Cocktail - I'm alright with prosecco, but my friend absolutely loved this! All in all, a great happy hour experience. I might recommend making a reservation because it seemed to get even busier after we sat down

It's def more hidden since it's in a business buiding, but there was still a full house when we visited on a Thurs evening for dinner. We waited around 20 mins to be seated. The ordering process was quick, service was friendly, and the food came out quick. Loved both their ramen and apps! PARKING : This location is a bit unique; it's in a courtyard area of a business building! The parking lot out front was pretty empty when we came around 7pm on a Thursday. We followed signs to get into the courtyard with the storefront. FOOD/DRINKS : Tonkotsu Ramen - Pork Chashu, spinach, green onion, seaweed, bean sprout, half egg -- creamy and flavorful broth, love the toppings and the chashu is some of the most tender I've had! Upgraded to Combo to include a small salad + salmon poke rice bowl - Salad dressing was nice and acidic, helped to have some veg between all the decadent bites! Salmon poke was okay, but I like Spicy Tuna more for sure. Quite a bit of rice in the bowl compared to fish. Spicy Cold Dipping Noodle - Bonito dashi broth w/ chili oil, cold noodles with pork chashu, bamboo, kaiware sprouts, bean sprouts, egg, spinach -- Super refreshing and cold! Loved the vinegar-y refreshing dipping broth. Not spicy to me, but had good chili flavor. Crispy Rice w/ Spicy Tuna - spicy tuna, avocado, crispy rice, eel sauce -- rice was soft yet crispy, not too oily. generous amount of spicy tuna. Matcha Latte w/ Azuki Boba - i like to get this when i dine here -- it's not a strong fancy coffeeshop "double matcha" by any means, but it's not trying to be one. It's a nice creamy matcha drink with red bean flavor thrughout and boba at the bottom. I like it as a sweet treat after all the savory foods!

There isn't a huge amount of space/seating but I was able to be seated immediately for my party of two for Friday dinner. The menu here is pretty limited but they seem to do each item really well. The tonkotsu ramen and salmon poke bowl were so flavorful and with good portions. Be prepared for an auto-gratuity/surcharge of 17%. It seems there was text on the menu about how to bypass it, but they blocked it out in marker so it's not avoidable.

The staff stayed attentive even during the rush and the food still came out fast! There's plenty of seating indoors and out so no worries there. We ordered three Blaze Ramen combos, and unfortunately, all three had issues. One bowl (tofu + added corn) came out with pork and no corn. Another (chicken, no corn) came with pork and corn. By that point, my boyfriend didn't want to send the entire bowl back, so he just asked for a side of chicken and removed the pork himself. The third bowl (chicken, corn, mild, no bean sprouts) came with bean sprouts and an overwhelming amount of chili. After dealing with the first two orders, I didn't even want to send it back--I just didn't eat. It was frustrating, especially since we know how good this place can be. The only bright spot was the pork buns--they were excellent as always. Would have been a one-star experience otherwise.
