We came yesterday at 4:30pm. No one was in line fortunately. Place was quite occupied. Cashier was friendly though. We did have a dirty glass cup. We did have to find our own seating which was : 2 corner booths to accommodate a party of 5 adults, 3 kids and a baby with a high chair. It made our dinner somewhat awkward. Not gonna name anyone even though the server would give us a card normally to review them on Yelp and google. Should we have tipped them first? Tri tip sirloin was tough according to my husband and my mom. Regardless, this is the last restaurant we ate with my pops as a whole family before he passed. Cheese toast was good as usual but menudo was salty. And clam chowder was lackluster . So I'm pretty bummed. read more

Growing up in the Midwest, places like Sizzler were a treat because who didn't like an all you can eat buffet concept as a kid? Nowadays, the concept isn't as ubiquitous because inflation and generational preferences have taken a toll. There used to be a Sizzler closer to my house before it closed so this Mountain View location in the Imperial Marketplace was the nearest branch. The parking lot was vast because of the nearby home improvement store that was the anchor tenant. I had not stepped inside one of these "family steakhouses" in decades. The layouts were all pretty similar with menu screens and a service counter with multiple registers set up after you walked through a corridor from the entranceway. After ordering and getting a receipt, you picked any open table for seating, of which there were dozens because the capacity was sufficient for well over 100 diners. A server would then come by and take the receipt to the kitchen for a cook to prepare the entree(s). In the meantime, you could help yourself to the buffet stations where soups, salads, sides, fried fare, and ice cream were available. It's not the highest quality food but for an AYCE model, there were plenty of choices for all kinds of palates. I filled a few plates with various items and saved room for soft serve ice cream as dessert. My main dish was an eight-ounce serving of Tri Tip Sirloin. It came with a choice of one side which was mashed potatoes in my case. I had finished about half of the items I picked from the buffet before the steak, potatoes, and complimentary cheese toast were delivered to my table. The meat was cooked more medium than my preference of medium rare. The sirloin was seasoned with quite a bit of black pepper as I could taste the bitterness. The spuds and toast were ordinary as expected. The brownies at the ice cream station were a bonus as the dense chocolate cake was a nice texture and flavor contrast to the vanilla soft serve. I can't consume as much as I could half a lifetime ago so I probably didn't get my money's worth which in this case was over $35. This trip to Sizzler was more about nostalgia and comfort grub versus gourmet dining. I gave a rating between three and four stars for the dining experience. read more

I have never had a bad experience at this location! Everyone is always so welcoming from the moment you walk through the door. We usually order the medium-rare sirloin steak, and the meat is always incredibly tender -- you really can't beat the special. Our waitress, Jeaneene, is always so sweet and accommodating. Here's a Christmas story Years ago, Christmas was about to get canceled flight delay etc. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. The only place open was Sizzler and we all went and we all had the best time so every year at Christmas are thereabouts we go to Sizzler good people on both sides of the menu. Everybody orders, two burgers minimum cut one of the burgers in half and you share it with someone else and we laugh we talk we share we inspire and we get ready for the next year . I hadn't been here in years but remembered they had an AYCE salad bar option so came by a few weeks ago. Ended up ordering the salad bar + an entree (steak and chicken) which ended up being waaay too much food so I was full afterwards. Great price for everything though, and the staff were all so helpful and attentive. Salad bar was delicious and had so many more options, from soups to a taco bar to a few other things. Ive been several times. I keep bringing friends with me because we miss it out in the East county. Great food. Great service. One thing: everytime ive been there i ask them to lower their music. I'm a frequent diner at this location since it's very close to where I live . I've written quite a few reviews about the outstanding choices of entrees , the fresh salad bar , desserts and all - and the excellent customer service that Sizzler is known for . On several occasions, I've been served by the gracious hospitality of Carlos. He's very attentive to his customers and so welcoming . As soon as he sees you , Carlos makes you feel so at home as if he's welcoming you to his own. I was dining here just this recent Father's Day . The place was packed and was very busy and I was thankful enough to get accommodated for a seat and despite the enormous crowd - Carlos, at every opportunity kept checking on me if everything was ok . This is the kind of outstanding customer service that always makes me come back . Extend to Carlos my heartfelt appreciation for such a wonderful job . He's truly an asset to the company . Came here on Martin Luther King holiday for lunch w/ a group of 7 and were served by Martha. We LOVE this Sizzler's location! It's kept VERY clean, their salad bar is kept tidy and stocked often, prices are reasonable, and the servers are always attentive, helpful, and check on their tables frequently. Today, the dining room had a very large group of 20+ people in addition to our party of 7 and Martha and the others handled the guests with great care and ease. We want to applaud all the cashiers, servers, busers, and management who strive to keep this location clean and presentable at all times. We get their AYCE Salad Bar 90% of the time and their best items are their tacos, fried chicken wings, and their vanilla & chocolate soft serve ice cream & brownies. read more

I love this Sizzler. We used to have one near our house, but that location closed down during COVID. Luckily this location survived, and is so much better because of its renovations from last year. We had exceptional service by Chante, always making sure we got what we needed. The salad bar was very inviting. It was super-clean, and all items were very fresh. The steak had a perfect grill flavor, and just the right doneness. We could tell that lots of celebrations were happening, as evidenced by the presence of numerous large parties. Kimberly was a great hostess and everyone was so kind to our group of 100+ people! We had a high school reunion luncheon at this Sizzler and the staff was nothing short of amazing! Kimberly was prompt, quick and served us with a smile. I think Dan was also working in our section and he also did wonderfully. The prices were a little higher than I recall, but the food was good so it was worth it. The parking lot was busy but we had no trouble getting there and it was fairly accessible for our crowd. We didn't have to wait too long for our food, we were playing games while waiting so the time went quickly. It was great for an older crowd and dependable. I was surprised to learn a Sizzler still exists in San Diego and have visited this location three times now. My impression is prices are on the high side, the "sides" portions are small but the steaks have been good. At $19.99 the salad bar, while very substantial, is overpriced. Being able to refill drinks is a plus as is the dessert station. I enjoy watching Padres baseball on their TV's and all of the employees have been friendly with Carlos being at the top of the list. read more

Sizzler has always been a great reliable restaurant for a great salad bar with a variety of salads, fruits, along with a kids salad bar. The clam chowder is good. I typically get the steak and lobster. My husband gets the all you can eat shrimp. And my son loves the lobster, salad bar, and ice cream sundae with fun toppings. Recently remodeled, beautiful clean well stocked salad bar, very tasty food that has remained consistent over the years. Went to Sizzler on a Monday night per my dad's request. He wanted to celebrate his 81st birthday with a salad bar, steak, and their infamous cheese toast! I haven't gone to Sizzler in decades but was very impressed by their service and their food was still on point! The staff was very friendly and accommodating in making sure we had an enjoyable experience. Almost 5 stars?! For a Sizzler?! I mean, I'm not surprised but I also am. You almost never see chains with a rating this high but as you can see from this update and my previous reviews, I'm a fan. They had a glow up here and to be honest, I don't think they needed it. They have always had a well-stocked salad bar that does seem a bit pricey if you're only getting salad at about $20.00. The good news is that it ain't just salad on this bar. They have tacos, they have chicken wings, they have soup, they have dessert items, they have fresh fruit, they have soft-serve, and all of these things speak to my soft heart. Sure, I hold some nostalgia when it comes to Sizzler as I would go with my mom and dad when I was a kid, but it's safe to say that this location goes beyond nostalgia.
