Instead, we left deeply hurt and in tears because of the way my 5-year-old son, who is highly autistic and non-communicative, was treated. My son was not disturbing other customers. He was simply walking next to our table because he was watching his shadow. Despite this, the store manager and 3 different waitress confronted me and told me to "handle my son or they will." As a parent, I found that statement extremely threatening, insulting, and completely unacceptable. There was no attempt to understand my son or his disability, and the way this situation was handled left my entire family devastated. I understand that restaurants have rules and expectations, but there is a respectful and compassionate way to address situations involving a child with autism. Threatening a parent and making them feel unwelcome because of their child is not that way. Customers beware. If you are looking for a place where families--including families with children with disabilities--are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, I strongly encourage you to think twice before visiting Aunt Emma's Pancakes. Not once did I get an apology from any of the waitresses or the manager!

Honestly I love Denny's but this time that I went was no better than the last time. Being one of the only places open at night/early morning, I went there by his time I ordered a a hot chocolate for a drink and the all American slam but when I received my hot chocolate and tasted it tasted like something else and I was like "okay so they are changing up the hot chocolate" but as I got to the bottom of the cup, it was not because they were changing the ingredients, it was because there was oatmeal at the bottom of my cup. Of course I'm not much of a complainer but I was a little frustrated because I had drank hot chocolate out of a non clean cup and I wanted to talk to someone about it but as usual they ignored my table and so when she came back I told the waitress, may I get another hot chocolate, in hopes that they would bring me a different cup and so they did because the saying on the cup was different from the first one but as I drank this one, it tasted like legit, straight, water.... And at this point I was like "well I didn't order a hot water, I ordered a hot chocolate, but again no waitress to let her know what is happening so I sat there with my friend. After all was said and eaten I wanted to get a box for my leftovers and so again I waited and waited and waited and at this time my waitress is not really doing anything she is just standing there looking at the pos system and as always I keep my calm and just go to the front and ask for a box and because I wasn't getting anywhere with just sitting there. So , lets start by saying I waited 12 min exact to be seated at 12 pm , were there were only 4 tables filled up ( and yes i understand at that time there is not alot of staff , but i counted 5 ), Next it takes the waiter 16 min to grab my DRINK order, and another 5ish to come back and get my actual order . YES , at this point I'm counting the minutes. So as we are waiting for our drinks , Me -water My daughter - Chocolate milk , I see another couple come in and get seated & order taken , by the time our drinks come , they are enjoying their food already . At this point we are frustrated sleepy and HUNGRY . I really don't like to be that annoying client so i continue waiting , 27 min later she remembers us and says "Oh let me go check on your order" (we sat near the kitchen btw) , she says what happen to table 8 i think , order? .. couldn't hear exactly what the chef said but she responded with a " Get that order in please ". I figured it was never entered , and we would have to wait 10 -15 min more , so we got up and informed the front to cancel my order , I explained everything to the nice gentlemen (wish i could remember his name ) I offered to pay for the chocolate milk but he seemed to know who my waiter was , so he comp the drink . Not the first Dennys I go to were Customer Service is horrible , E st in Chula VIsta the same host sat 2 other couples before us who also walked in . and National City next to In and Out we never even got seated waiter or host forgot we were waiting for a table. I received the response from Ashley D. about my review I left. I find it astonishing that Ashley actually answered my review. But her answer was nothing more than a generic statement of saying." We will try to do better, please come back soon metaphor." Well, if Ashley had read all of my reviews she would have seen that I complained about this same item over a year ago! So here's my question to Ashley. If you're really trying to do better, what's taking you so long? It is astonishing to think that just up the street, (Euclid Avenue,) there is a homeless shelter that has been funded with over a million dollars from Manny Machado, (third baseman for the San Diego Padres.) and yet here is a business owner (Denny's restaurant) at the bottom of the hill who cannot even support the patrons who support the San Diego Padres by giving them two free pancakes at a cost of $0.30! Another correction, I would like to make that Ashley D. has stated to other reviewers of Denny's restaurant here on Sweetwater Boulevard. She has stated that her "heart is full" but the truth of the matter is, that it's not her heart that is full, It is her wallet is full. Well Ashley D. you asked me to come back. So today after working a 12 hr at the ER I decided to stop by some breakfast. I was seated, they took my order and everything seemed normal. Then 10 minutes passed by and nothing has come by, then the waitresses Itzel came by and asked if I've been served. Casually I just said no and she was so apologetic and then proceeded to get my order. After the food came and I ate I asked for the check, she stated "THAT I WONT BE HAVING A CHECK TODAY" due to my 1st order not coming out. I was so surprised I even told her that it was completely unnecessary, but she insisted. In the past we had a bad experience with the service but we decided to come back on Thursday January 4 and Juan T. Was excellent, we had some questions about items in the menu and he was so professional and answered all the questions,he greeted us in less than 1 minute,the food took like 20 minutes but the server came and apologized and offered us more drinks while we wait,when the food came it was hot and perfect, Juan was always checking on us,I'll come back and ask for him.Forgot to mention he had lot more tables and still gave us a excellent service read more

Went over to the Sweetwater Denny's because my regular Denny's was closed for kitchen breakdown to do their big cleaning and not due to open until 5:30 am. The food was good, the dining room was clean, and the service friendly and welcoming. A big shout out to Marvin, who made it all happen. This nice young man even made a whole new pot of coffee for me when I asked if I could get a fresh cup. That amazing moment I wait 20 minutes at a fuckin table before I walk out. I come here by myself usually to relax. But the service here is by far the worst. It must be the california attitude because this shit never happened in Chicago. The servers here look disgruntled and fed up with the job. The management clearly doesn't give a shit. This is the worst Denny's ever. I will never order from them again. They forgot my items on my togo order that I paid for and did not put any condiments in the bag for my english muffin. This is the second time they have gotten the order wrong. They never answer the phone and when you call to place an order for togo or delivery. The agent tries to connect you to the store and they hang up on you. read more

This Denny's has more of a sports bar atmosphere and offers a wide selection of draft and bottled beer. Serves wine as well as their speciality drinks Michelada and Mimosa and Sangria. Current sports events premiered on HD flat screens, Happy hours offered daily . Definitely not the Dennys most are accustomed to. This is definitely a place you should visit . read more

I couldn't even remember what a frittata was, but in hindsight, isn't this more like just a circular omelette than a frittata? I mean, okay, that kinda is what a frittata....is, but the texture and shape seems a bit off to me. I find the flavor kinda mid. Also, I'll note that the green peppers came in crazy strong for something not labeled as chiles rellenos or something. I found it acceptable, but it's definitely for pepper lovers. I do like the salsa. Aside from that, the potatoes and pancakes were both excellent, but they're still just generic items. Great texture and seasoning on the home fries. Pancakes had like the perfect quantity of syrup for me.

If you're following Google maps it will take you exactly there. There is plenty of parking. You will not find an actual looking restaurant. It is like a cafeteria inside the admin building. Do not be put off by this!! They have a great variety of food and amazing customer service. The owner took our order and was super helpful with all the questions we had about the place. He let us know of their many catering services, weekly specials and was overall super nice. They do have some items not listed, just ask and he's more than likely to accommodate. He let us know they change the menu up every 6 months or so which is awesome in my opinion. Donovans has been there for 35+ years. Food is very fresh and the place is immaculate. Will definitely be going back.

On Saturday 07/25th, my husband placed an online order at this location…read more We picked up our order and my husband's bowl, which was supposed to be a BYOB with double chopped chicken AND a side of chicken kebab was obviously wrong. The first clue it was wrong was that it contained feta (husband is intolerant to dairy), secondly it was missing the additional chicken kebab. Upon returning to the counter, we noticed multiple people ahead of us were sending back their food because they also experienced mistakes. It took the staff about 15 mins to make a new bowl for my husband, which was wrong again. They gave him a totally different bowl, which just had one chicken skewer sitting on top and it was missing the double chopped chicken. Because of the additional protein, we paid a hefty price for my husband's bowl. We contacted Luna Grill via their app to make it right and provide a refund. We haven't heard back from them. We didn't go up to the counter a 2nd time because, again, the lines were getting backed up from customers continuing to send back their food. We used to order food from this location quite frequently, but will be avoiding it from now on.

After being seated with different servers on several occasions, my husband and I both agreed that Javier is the best when it comes to customer service. We now always request to be served by him. I've also seen him interact with other customers, and he is incredibly personable and attentive, which makes perfect sense as to why we enjoy coming here so much--aside from the great food, of course! The food is consistently good quality, and the portions are generous. Request avocado? No problem! They give you a generous portion instead of counting out a few pieces like some other restaurants do. I'm also a big fan of their homemade soups, freshly made by "Tía." The only drawback we've experienced was last month. We requested Javier as our server and didn't mind waiting, especially since we were a large party of 12. We waited for over an hour and watched at least two full rounds of customers get seated, including other large parties. Our disappointment wasn't necessarily with the wait; it was more that, despite requesting Javier, we were ultimately served by someone else. Unfortunately, our food came out incorrectly (things happen!), but our waitress never came back to check on us. We had to get our own takeout containers and eventually had to request the check ourselves so we could leave. Again, our issue wasn't the wait--it was the lack of follow-up and customer service once we were seated. We've had such consistently great experiences with Javier that this visit really stood out compared to what we've come to expect from Emma's Pancakes. CUSTOMERS BEWARE Our…read morefamily of 14 recently visited Aunt Emma's Pancakes for what was supposed to be a nice family gathering. Instead, we left deeply hurt and in tears because of the way my 5-year-old son, who is highly autistic and non-communicative, was treated. My son was not disturbing other customers. He was simply walking next to our table because he was watching his shadow. Despite this, the store manager and 3 different waitress confronted me and told me to "handle my son or they will." As a parent, I found that statement extremely threatening, insulting, and completely unacceptable. There was no attempt to understand my son or his disability, and the way this situation was handled left my entire family devastated. I understand that restaurants have rules and expectations, but there is a respectful and compassionate way to address situations involving a child with autism. Threatening a parent and making them feel unwelcome because of their child is not that way. Customers beware. If you are looking for a place where families--including families with children with disabilities--are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, I strongly encourage you to think twice before visiting Aunt Emma's Pancakes. Not once did I get an apology from any of the waitresses or the manager!

The food itself had good flavor, but unfortunately my plate came out cold instead of warm. I was starving and didn't want to complain, so I just ate it anyway. Another reason I'm knocking off some points is because I asked the waitress for an extra side of rice and tortillas, but never received them. Service wasn't terrible, but definitely could've been more attentive. Also, just something to note: horchata does not come with free refills, and water is served as bottled water for an extra charge. One thing I will say is that this was one of the only restaurants not completely packed during the holiday weekend, which made getting seated easy. Overall, I'd probably give this place another chance because the food had potential, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Hoping they can redeem themselves next visit.
