We had such a wonderful experience at Sizzler in San Diego! I called a week ahead to make reservations for a party of 15 and spoke with Luis, who was so accommodating. When we arrived, he had tables set up for us toward the back of the restaurant, giving us a little privacy, which we really appreciated. Our main server was Carlos, and together, Carlos and Luis went above and beyond to make sure our group was well taken care of. They were efficient in taking and serving our orders, making sure everything came out exactly as requested. Carlos was attentive and always seemed to come by at just the right time whether to refill drinks, clear plates, or check if we needed anything. Luis also came by several times to make sure everything was perfect. It's been years since we've been to a Sizzler. When my son was little, we used to come often, so when he chose Sizzler for his birthday dinner as an adult, it brought back such great memories. Coming back after all these years felt special, and the team made it even more memorable. They even sang happy birthday to my son. The restaurant itself was spotless. The salad bar was fresh, well-stocked, and continuously refilled. We were all impressed with the quality of the steaks and how juicy and flavorful the lobsters were. Every dish came out hot, and throughout the evening, everyone kept commenting on how delicious the food was. First time at this location (and not since the 80s any Sizzler). I was actually taken off guard how friendly the staff was. I was just standing there reading the menu when I was asked if I need any help. It wasn't just that one employee, it was all of them. I have been to places where the staff all looked and acted like they were court-ordered to work. Not here. The place was clean (bathroom too, that is a big thing for me since I believe the cleaniness of the bathroom reflects the operations of the place and probably how the kitchen is kept too.). To me is just means the staff and supervisors are on top of things. Anyways, the salad bar was fresh and the food tasted good. I sampled everything. Pretty good. The cheesy bread is on point, lol! I ordered the little place 6oz tri-tip sirloin with the baked potato and unlimited salad bar add-on. My steak was made to my order, and I liked the fire char on it. They have ice cream too. I enjoyed the fact they had real soft-serve ice cream and not that nasty, cheap ice milk stuff. All around, the place was pretty good. My server, was the "yelp famous" Jeanne. She was like what everyone else said. She was attentive, friendly and did a great job. She is worth the 5 star review. So, take this review how you want. But I plan on coming back. read more

At $120 for three people, and without even opting for the salad bar, it felt like every aspect came with an additional charge. The notion of charging extra for salad bar access seemed excessive and contributed to an impression of nickel-and-diming customers. Comparisons to other similar establishments, such as Chili's or Texas Roadhouse, were inevitable. Sizzlers, in contrast, created an atmosphere where the focus seemed to be on extracting every possible penny rather than delivering a wholesome and satisfying dining experience. First time at sizzlers, came here on a whim and ended up with the best dine in experience I've had in a LONG time. The ambiance was amazing, we were first greeted by Liliana who was very professional and after telling her it was our first time she step by step walked us through the menu and salad bar and answered all our questions and made excellent recommendations. My wife and i ordered 2 mango lemonades and 2 salad bars, without a doubt some of the freshest ingredients i have eaten in a long time, you can tell the staff care about cleanliness and expertise as they are constantly sweeping, cleaning the salad bar and ensuring you are being helped. Our server Martha really made the experience 100% by recommending us the mango lemonade a very delicious drink on a hot day like today. She checked on us without us having to call or look for her and made sure we tried the signature cheesy bread which was astounding. The price that we paid for this in San Diego is amazing. Not only did we receive good food, amazing customer service and me and my wife were able to share and bond on a Friday afternoon. We had a wonderful Mother's Day celebration at Sizzler, and the experience truly exceeded our expectations. Even with the large holiday crowd around 12:15PM, the restaurant was very clean, organized, and well managed. From the moment we arrived, the staff directed us efficiently to the cashier, helped us with our selections, and quickly got us seated with beverages and fresh basket bread. What impressed me most was the outstanding customer service. Despite how busy they were, the wait staff remained attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our visit. The food was excellent. I ordered the ribs and chicken plate with a baked potato and a mango lemonade, and everything was flavorful and perfectly prepared. My wife enjoyed the all-you-can-eat salad bar, and my daughter loved her burger and fries along with a mango lemonade. Overall, the value for the price was fantastic. We usually choose other restaurants for special occasions, but we decided to give Sizzler a try this year, and we were genuinely impressed. First time at this Sizzler location. I had my family in town visiting from Chicago. We headed into San Diego to do some sight seeing and later for lunch we decided to eat at this Sizzler. The food was good as most Sizzlers are. The salad bar was fully stocked. It was quite busy when we visited. It was a Sunday evening on the 28th. We were a large group of 17. There seemed to be other large groups there as well, but we didn't have any issues finding and gathering tables to accommodate all of us. This location is spacious. The best thing about this location had to be the service. Our server was Carlos. He was amazing. Very friendly and talkative. Found out he plays in a band that plays cover songs of the Beatles. Although he was very busy tending to a large crowd that evening, he had told for everyone. I have not seen someone hustle that much. All the while with a smile on his face. He made sure we had everything we needed. They are lucky to have Carlos on their team. Made our experience very memorable. If I'm ever on the area again I will definitely go back. There was a server by the name of Chante which was not our server however was kind enough to commendate our tables request. I informed her that our server had not been by our table for some time and asked if you could get our table some bread. She was fantastic, attentive and friendly to commendate. Even though she had other tables to attend too she still commendated with helping as needed. She kept a positive attitude which really set the tone for a wonderful everning even though our server was too busy to make sure that we were okay. I just want to let you know what an exceptional server Chante exemplify on this day. She went above and beyond to ensure that our table was taken care of. I even tried to give her a tip but she refused because this was not her station and that she didn't want to slite her co-working who's station we were in. My Service was great the server was a Black lady named Chantel I believe is what her name tag said. Very polite and attentive to our needs I asked her why she was the only black working at the establishment that I noticed that the last few times I visited I didn't see any whites or black employees she didn't want to bad mouth or negative about the current management so I changed the subject. My opinion is that you serve all sort of people and races so you need to have all sort of races working at this locations not just Mexican people seems like that's all I saw. Nothing against Mexicans. Very hard workers but other workers work hard as well like The black lady that waited our table a few times she is really nice and smiles and chit chats with us as she serves us makes it a nice experience. We have been coming to this location in Southeast Sd since the National City location closed. My kids (now 30+ yrs old) still have dinner with is here at the Imperial ave locale. We always have GREAT & FRIENDLY service, the servers are super helpful, knowledgeable & attentive to our needs. We often dine with 4+ family members & get the same GREAT SERVICE EVERY TIME!!!! We usually get long time server "Carlos" as we did tonight, as far as I'm concerned (having worked in restaurants as a chef, I know, I know, sometimes you just want a steak & all u can eat shrimp, Latino homeboy at heart ) is a SUPER CREDIT to your brand!!!! My husband and I went in for lunch on Saturday. From the time we walked in and were greeted, everyone was so nice. The front staff took our order, provided glasses and silverware and we were off to find a table. I ordered the NY Strip, medium rare, baked potato and the unlimited salad bar. Our server was Chante. Chante greeted us with a big smile and thanked us for coming in. She offered us bread and made sure we had enough napkins, steak sauce, etc. Our food was delivered, steak cooked perfectly, big baked potato (fixins on the side as requested). Throughout the meal, Chante checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. I recently visited this restaurant, I've never been and my hopes were high. I order the bacon crispy burger and it was fantastic the fries were amazingly crispy and soft ln the inside better than McDonald's fries. The burger it was juicy, thick, buttery fluffy bread was on POINT. My folks got the steak and lobster and I was able to snag a bite and I was not let down. It was amazing, lobster was amazing and buttery and the steak was perfectly cooked, I often don't find myself ordering lobster or steak but the way this steak hit me, it was revolutionary. She created a positive atmosphere and clearly takes pride in running a well-managed business. She also introduced me to my waiter, Mr. Carlos, who was just as impressive. I thought all sizzlers had died out but coming here was so clear that, while there may not be many locations left, sizzler is alive and incredibly well. The salad bar was constantly stocked and always clean thanks to the employees who wipe the counters down once every few minutes (like less than 10). There's always an open table because of how quickly the tables are cleared off and wiped down after a guest has left. I cannot stress how clean the employees keep this place it's honestly incredible. Our server Martha was constantly making laps checking in on everyone and was so sweet. Wanted to leave a review following our most recent visit to Sizzler after having a really nice experience. Just to get it out of the way, the salad bar was fresh and delicious, with lots of good variety. My steak and unlimited shrimp was another great choice, too. The restaurant is clean and lively and a great atmosphere for overeating shrimp, to be sure. But more than that, our meal was made truly superlative by our friendly server, Daniel. He was attentive and helpful. He was never overbearing either. He was funny and brought some insightful conversation to help me feel a little better about how this season is going for the Padres, too.
