Honey, I Shrunk the Totoro

When you arrive at this distillery it may shock you. It is located in a shared building, but once you walk in the vibe completely changes. I had a chance to go to the limited, Taste of Japan menu and was enamored with the flavor of these cocktails. Each was unique and something that I would love to try again if they bring this menu back. They also had Wasabi Popcorn with the limited menu and I will order this any time I see it. A must!

This is our favorite cocktail room in the Cities! We've been a handful of times, and you just get so much that you aren't expecting from this spot. The weirdest location, the inventive menu, and an interior perfect for a casual drink or date night, you really can't do better! Plenty of parking available outside this building. Don't be alarmed, this tasting room is in the middle of what seems to be an office building. Just follow the signs and you will be transported to a one of a kind tasting room. I don't want to spoil anything because part of the experience is entering this spot and taking it all in...but just know that it's intentional and beautiful! The service is always top notch and they know how to check all the boxes. The drink menu is QUITE inventive and always changing. They aren't afraid to take risks and challenge your understanding of the art of the cocktail. My greatest recommendation is to pick a spirit you enjoy and let the team recommend the best! You won't be disappointed! Can't wait to continue to explore the magic that this place dreams up!

Drinks are great! They get better each time I've come. This was my third time. This place has that speakeasy element of mystique because it's located in an office building where everything is closed. Behind an office door is this dark, cozy bar. There are cool nooks inside. They distill their own liquor so the pot stills are a nice touch. They play good music too. Bar tenders are cool and easy to chat with. They do a great job making craft cocktails with super unique ingredients. Love this lil Japanese snack mix they put together too. They have a couple of other snacks to hold you down. They have a laser cutter so they do their own branding, like in coasters and stencils they use to make awesome designs in the drink, like the Skaal sour I had. The beet powder gave it a beautiful aesthetic but also boosts the flavor profile. I love those kinds of touches.

Obsessed with this place! They have very limited seating so make a reservation. It's fun to walk through the halls to the entrance, it feels like a speakeasy. They have excellent drinks and a fun atmosphere- it's really cool to see the stills plus they decorated for Halloween when we went. The bartenders are great and we loved our drinks. My favorite was the walken pig- which has smoked Hmong pork belly infused vodka, um what?! Just trust me. It's absolutely DEVINE! Just go here!

Don't let the industrial park location fool you--Skaalvenn Distillery & Cocktail Lounge in Brooklyn Park has got to be one of the Twin Cities' most unique and impressive bar experiences. It's a true, high-end speakeasy that transports you the moment you step inside. One moment you are in a boring office building then you transport to an atmosphere that is intimate, dark, and beautifully designed. I especially love the service and their dedication to presentation and mixing unique flavors. Important Tip: Because of the cozy size and high demand, reservations are strongly recommended, especially on weekends, to ensure you get a seat in this exclusive spot! Sometimes you can get lucky and get a walk-in but I strongly encourage reservations. One other thing, the music selection was great; went along with an already impressive vibe.

Very knowledgeable staff! They were super helpful with the menu that had a lot of uncommon ingredients for our area. Although located in a seemingly odd location, stepping through that door felt like entering a whole other world. Our drinks were excellent and it was a perfect chill vibe for our night. Absolutely will be going back.

This place is the real deal. The cocktails are SPECTACULAR and the employees are all great. I've been many times, and its always the same couple of guys behind bar with a big smile.

This place is killer, every time I've visited. The environment if you're in before the music cranks fits that of the perfect date night, dim lit and intimate. After the music starts? Exactly where you want to be at night. They have all the right vibes going on. The bartenders and staff are killer. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and the service is quick. The drinks? They have all the staples, plus some really awesome rotating signatures. I love classics such as their old fashioned, and signatures such as their bam bam fruity pebbles inspired cocktail. Make sure to make a reservation as she gets packed. Get ready for the vibes, and try all the fun things!

If you love a fancy cocktail, this is the place for you. I got their version of A whiskey sour and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. The bartenders were fantastic and the place wasn't too crowded. It's very unassuming, tucked away in an office building, but then you walk in the door and you are transported into a mood lit, velvet lounge.

Notorious RBC and yes that's a real brownie on the side

Another 5 star visit to my fave distillery ***** Nice to see some new cocktails listed Notorious RBC was interesting for me as I'm not a Bourbon drinker and I discovered if you let the ice cube melt just a little it tasted soo good and not so strong. Nice touch with the brownie bite in between sips And of course I still stand on the Espresso Martini is the best I've had yet in the cities- they make all the ingredients in house including their Khalua and the special touch must be their coconut fatwashed vodka! Sounds insane but it's epic!!! Some friends tried the spicy daiquiri which is made with their habanero rum - so that should give you a hint that it's spicy!! it had a really good flavor but too spicy for me to enjoy ,so make sure you check with the staff about all the ingredients in the cocktails before you order :) Ambiance is always on point ,great vibe moody lighting and old skool tunes The staff here are all friendly helpful and knowledgeable , I love coming here

This is the cocktail lounge the Twin Cities has been waiting for and it is found in an office building that feels like you're clocking your shift at Dunder Mifflin. You'll likely arrive after dark and assume your GPS has routed you to the wrong spot. But press on! You'll walk through a bunch of nondescript hallways like in my pics to ultimately arrive at the greatest cocktail lounge ever. You'll open the door and find friendly workers, fantastic ambiance and the best cocktail menu I've encountered. They're all made with spirits that they create on site and so you can tell they take pride in everything they do. Everything about the people and the place just feels thoughtful-- like no detail has been left to chance. The space feels a bit time warpy with a lot of retro hip hop playing and super cool nooks for small to medium sized parties. Was also told by a worker that the whole space can be rented out for big parties. As for the drinks themselves, you just have to experience. Really two of the best cocktails we've ever had. I did the In Fashioned and it was simply the most elevated old fashioned over ever tasted. Little details like the foam and burnt orange made it special. Finally, there is a way that a place like this could end up being pretentious because of the setup and elevated nature of the drinks. But, nothing could be further from the truth here. We interacted with five different workers and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Would recommend getting a reservation to be on the safe side. We went late on a Friday and were ok but that isn't the norm we were told. We can't wait to go back!

I love going to a speakeasy bar, especially if you have to go through secret doors or have a password to enter. I had family in town and took them to check out the speakeasy at a business building. We parked in the lot, entered the building, walked down the hallways and then open the door and see a whole new world. We made reservations just in case they get a large walk in. Our server was very knowledgeable in the drinks they offered and gave us comparisons. They have a food menu, however we went there after we ate. Just small plates and appetizers. Definitely recommend this place for anyone in the twin cities.

Ask the Community - Skaalvenn Distillery

Are children welcome?

I'm not sure on this, but it isn't a place I personally would feel like bringing my kiddos. It's dimly lit,, kind of romantic kind of atmosphere.

Can you bring in your own food/snacks?

The sauce had a nice kick and was perfect for our liking! The Brussels sprouts were crispy, and the flavors were unique and delicious. I'm not usually a fan of blue cheese, but the combination of all the seasonings was one of the best Brussels sprouts I've ever had! The ribeye was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The staff informed us that the steaks are always fresh, never frozen, and I could definitely taste the difference when I took the first bite. The staff were friendly and provided amazing service!

Saturday, July 26, 2025…read more I had a very nice salad from the restaurant last night. Ordered from the bar. Bartender was pleasant and chef happened to be there too, and we had a nice conversation. I'm staying here for a dance event that goes into the early morning hours. The website clearly indicates that the restaurant is open until midnight. It's a little after 11 pm and I planned to order a meal and have it later when I got back to my room. I am giving it only 2 Stars because the hours on the website are WRONG. Really? It's a Saturday night and the only restaurant in the Marriott closes at 10:00 pm!!! I do not have a car, so I cannot even go out for food now. Very disappointed and totally screwed up my plans for the evening. This can't be the only time someone has been very inconvenienced because the Marriott or Wadsworth is completely unaware that their website does not have correct hours listed. I could understand, MAYBE, if it were the dead of winter. It's the summer. Wake up, do better.

First time at RedStone. I've had--and still have--the privilege of working and traveling through…read moremany countries and visiting many restaurants, which gives me a bit of an edge, in addition to being an amateur chef, when it comes to distinguishing between good and bad food and service. RedStone is a very pleasant place to go for dinner, with unparalleled service and a very pleasant vibe. The dishes are beautifully presented and the recipes are delicious. I have to admit that I wasn't going to try the sauce that comes with the sea bass. The menu says "Vinaigrette." But that set off a red flag. Vinaigrette is very common. But... the manager asked me to try it. So I did. I wouldn't really call it a vinaigrette. It's a sauce made with very rich balsamic vinegar--mild, yet with the full power of the balsamic--served warm. A high-quality sauce that pairs very well with the sea bass. Not to mention the vegetables and the basmati rice. The bread pudding is absolutely the best I've ever tasted. It's very hard to find a pudding this soft and moist. One more thing you don't come across very often. I ordered a double espresso. They brought it to me--and hallelujah--in an espresso cup. Perfectly at the right temperature. See you later.
