I brought in my XD Mod for a trade in. They evaluated and appraise it for $275 but I was signing the paper work they said I was $225. All of a sudden they all have amnesia and they refuse to have it re evaluated. Poor customer service and had me pair with the new customer rep which he had no clue of what he was doing.. Their new store is far larger than before. A special ordered a Savage 116 in .338 a month before I was able to pick it up and they held it for me. The price was competitive to online gun stores, though a few percent higher. The staff is friendly and helpful and the background check doesn't take long at all. Their ammo selection is more limited compared to the Marysville Cabelas but they still have a good variety. The store is clean with wide aisles and decent prices. This is the second long arm I've bought from Skagit and will likely buy there again. read more

Everyone that works here is incompetent and have no clue what they're doing. The hassle of trying to buy a gun wasn't worth it especially because we had to go back multiple times because they kept forgetting paperwork and they also don't know the law because it was only after they sold us the gun that they informed us we had to be 21. We're from Texas and the law there is 18 so we didn't know. You would think they would have told us when they had to check out our license but nope. They even had four people check out the paperwork and nobody caught it. Just very disappointed. read more

They acted as if I were bothering them and were not helpful or educational at all. While looking at handguns they focused on weapons that 'didn't work for my situation' and less on what would be a good choice. Purchase a 204 rifle and took it to the range to zero in, it was defective and the scope could not be adjusted to shoot the bulls eye or even get on the target. Return to Skagit Arms & they suggested to go to a gunsmith. I tried that and he said the gun would not shoot straight. Return to Skagit Arms and this time they put their own scope on the gun to check it out because they thought my scope may be the problem, with the understanding that if their scope worked I would buy their scope. Well they found out the gun was defective and said they could take it back but since it was used it would cost me an additional 100.00 to purchase the same gun. I was leaving in a 2 weeks for Montana and still had to zero the rifle so I gave them $100.00 and ordered the same rifle. When I came to pickup the rifle it was the wrong one and they had to reorder. When the correct rifle came in I had 2 days to get to zero the rifle. ALL THIS AND IT WAS NOT MY FAULT. I rated this with 2 stars only because the replacement gun worked. I went in to purchase a Sig rifle and possibly a pistol. On the Sig website, they are considered an elite dealer. The first guy that "helped" me out could not answer any questions I had about the Sig rifle other than what the tag said. I walked outside to do a little more research in order to answer my own questions via the internet. When I came back, a different person was over by the Sig display and asked if I needed help. I asked the same questions and he, also, did not know the answers. When I asked if he could find out, he said he could go look on the internet; however, there were a lot of customers in the building. There were not that many and, after all, was I not considered a customer and worth the salesman's time? The weapons I was looking at were $2K a piece. He ultimately did look on the internet and answer most of my questions, but he had already lost my sale. I have bought firearms, ammo and other accessories from them in the past without this kind of experience. What I expected from a Sig Sauer "Elite" dealer was knowledge and weapons that were in stock. I did not get that from Skagit Arms. My recommendation is, if you choose to purchase from them, do all your homework before you go and know exactly what you want. They have competitive prices and a pretty good selection of firearms. They have a very good selection of accessories. Unfortunately, the selection of firearms dealers in this area is limited, so they have a definite hold in the market. Perhaps I just got the two crappy salesmen working that day; however, my friend said he has had similar experiences with them not returning calls, lack of knowledge, etc. We live about 45 mins away, so we often call for information before making the trip out there. read more

Do not let these people lie to you it does not take 30 days to get your firearm these guys just sit on your paperwork, I had been waiting almost a month and I had never had it take this long to received a call so after about 2 weeks I went in to ask questions and almost every time I get shrugged off and hit with the same answer it can take 30 days, so after about 3 weeks I went back in they finally asked what my name was and told me that they still hadn't recieved my approval from the police department and that they would call me immediately so I gave it a couple more days called the police department this time and the lady told me that they had just recieved my paperwork over the weekend like they had forgot about it and just sent it over and she approved it that morning and that it should be ready now and also told me that the turnaround is about 10 days now during this call it's about 1 pm I get to skagit arms at about 2pm and I still hadn't received a call from them so ounce again lying to me about they would call immediately and again be lazy and sitting on your stuff that you paid for. I finally get my gun and I ask the guy why are they telling people 30 days and he says " because 30 days is the maximum amount of days the paperwork last" which after I tell him that the police department told me they did recieved my paperwork til this past weekend and he tries to blame their laziness on the police department saying that they "lost the paperwork" in conclusion don't listen to the people and I will not be coming back!!! read more

A week ago, I spoke with someone by phone while I was in Montana and bought a new model Walther pdp, at a very fair price. Today, I drove up from Seattle, sold them two handguns for fair prices, and completed the necessary documents. I found everyone to be friendly, and the store was very neat and orderly. I told Jared, the manager, what an easy experience it had been. So, I managed to buy the new model pdp for a fair price, and I'll buy a red dot when I return in 10 days or so. Contacted the Skagit Arms by phone to see if they had in stock a Sig P365. Took three times asking his name before I finally was able to obtain it. I do like to know whom I am talking to on the phone. When asking about the gun, it seemed like there was no interest in helping a customer out. Guess I will head to Cabela's or North Sound Firearms. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 star was my experience on the phone. I went in looking at pistols for a concealed carry. I was helped by a very nice gentleman (Chad maybe, tall fella) He walked me through different brands and gave me some great advice. After looking I found the gun that would work. They didn't have it in stock. He asked if I would like a call when they got one in stock. Sure! About a week later I got a call and they left me a message. I called back and this is where my experience went south. The gentleman on the phone was flat out rude. Told me I had to get there that day to get my gun because they could only hold it for so many hours (I totally get) then told me "and don't get here 10 to 5 cause we won't stay late) huh? I work in a industry where customer service is number one. This dude on the phone sucked. Went in to the store (way before 5 LOL) and was greeted by Kyle. He was awesome. Derrick by far was the greatest salesperson we've encountered during our experience. We are new to the personal protection/hunting industry and he made us feel right at home, he would tell us things that we should have known to ask. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. We didn't buy the first night, and I found it a little cheaper (so I thought) online, but because of Derrick we drove the hour down from Lynden to make a purchase. Even FiFi warmed to the new rifle because of Derrick, she just can't sing his praises enough. Having worked in sales most of my life, Derrick is the type of salesperson I want people to think of me. On 3/20/2017 I went in to buy a Glock 19 and filled out all the paperwork, knowing there would be a 10 day wait. 15 days later I checked with my local PD to see if I was clear to pick it up and they told me it wasn't faxed until 3/26. As I had already received my CCW I headed down to the shop to see if they would release the gun or change the sale to a CCW sale. I didn't immediately tell them I knew they hadn't faxed it in a timely manner, as I wanted to see what they would say. The law in WA is the gun is released after PD confirmation or 10 business days. After waiting about 30 mins for the owner to look up the info, he came out and was immediately aggressive. He stated they wouldn't release the gun and he didn't "give a damn what the law said". When I asked him if it was because they waited 6 days to fax the info he said "we don't work every day". For info the 20th was a Monday and the 26th was a Sunday. At this point I told him to cancel the sale, and he became more belligerent stating "there's the door get out". Long story short I am a LEO and was trying to complete a blue label purchase. On the bright side I drove down West Cost Armory in Issaquah and got the gun in 20 mins. I also left this review on the Facebook page for Skagit Arms and the owner flat out lied. He accused me of being belligerent and waving my badge around. This never happened and will never happen, the only thing I tried to show anyone was a copy of the fax sent to Bellingham PD on 3/26. This place was bustling with people when I walked in so, I stood back in hopes of an opportunity at the counter. Almost immediately I was greeted by a young man (Jules) who asked how can I help ma'am... I slapped down my picture of what was to be my new "charmer". He immediately went to the case and pulled one out... we went thru the options of /shiny vs satin finish as I was someone adamant about "Bling" he called for backup, meaning the boss.. low & behold the "shiner" I was seeking didn't come high polished anymore..bummer! BUT, as I was about to settle for satin, his compadre jumped up the ladder to check stock and found her, my dreamed about best friend... the conversation went from holsters to grips to paperwork (UHG) as I snarked my way thru and checked off all the appropriate boxes it occurred to me that simply, this was my day.... these guys where not only informative and knowledgeable, but they understood my concerns and made me feel comfortable being the only broad at the table... my new Ellie has made me one happy deplorable!!! Well I will say friendly and all that but the fact they only support active duty and not the veterans. By only giving active duty the discount and telling the soldiers who are no longer serving no you can't have the discount I think is utter crap. I don't expect a discount but if your going to give one why not to the ones who also paved the way for the new soldiers. Or have you forgotten about the ones who have served there time and served already. Remember they were the ones who paved the way and made it possible for the new soldiers to be able to pave the way for the next. so as we saluted are Lts H.U.A.H. (Head Up Ass Hole). I just want uniformity. I went in there looking for a 22lr, but walked out with more. The help was awesome, they set up my firearm, sighted it in, helped out with questions, even helped me to the car with my purchases. The next time I went in there I was looking for something more specific and of lower inventory around town. I got lots of help and suggestions for what I was looking for, I wasn't even buying and still felt like the service was great. If they can keep the inventory up, I will drive an hour to do business with them, rather then the other "gun shop" that is closer to home. If you go in the store and just browse they don't jump on you and let you go about browsing, as they stay pretty busy helping customers that are buying or ask for help. Ammo inventory is better then almost anywhere else. Good reviews always seem to have less of a story, but hope you guys find mine helpful. read more

Bought 5+ guns from Skagit Arms and every time been greeted and treated well. They have a good selection and decent prices. I have not had any issues with any of the guns I have gotten there so can not comment on how they are if you do have a problem with a gun. The thing that I like most is that they are not trying to steer you into a gun they like. I bought a Remington 700 there yesterday and could tell that the person there was a fan of some other options, however I knew what I wanted and he offered other options but did into push at something that I knew that I did not want. At other stores if you run into a Glock guy, or a Sig guy that will tell you it is the best brand/type even if its not what you are looking for, here they seem to give their opinion however not look at you are stupid if yours differ. Pros- -Treat you as a buyer, even if you are just looking -Greet you at the counter and ask if they can answer questions. Cons- - The place is so stuffed with stuff it seems cluttered- they need more space. This is kind of a non issue however think that if they had more room it would run smoother. read more

The new building is open, its bright and well lit. The people are the same and thats a good thing BUT.......... I sort of miss the old place with everything crammed into overstuffed cases and ammo stacked all over the place. Dont get me wrong, its a stunning store and Im sure Ill get over having everything spread out where you can actually see it without using "excuse me" constantly. My wife actually went inside with me and liked it..... Same pricing as the old store which is a good thing. Great handgun selection, heavy on black rifles, a bit light on Trap Shotguns, hunting shotguns well covered just like always...... Is some of the items over priced? Sure. You can find that in any store and everyone knows that something is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. The service was decent. I have had better service at the local Dicks Sporting Goods however. I am sure like with any small business if you are a local or they see you regularly then the pricing and how you are treated is subject to change. They are convenient for me to drop by when I am on my lunch break from work but there is a shop in Bellingham that is simply better all around. read more
