I always seem to find an excuse to go here. For example, on this past visit Boyfriend wanted some coffee and since they just an out at home I ran out to get him a cup. Instead of going to Byrne Dairy down the road I go here. Walking down the road to the bakery I can smell the fresh baked goods that hey have. First you smell the bakery and then you see it. You see the donut machine in the window and it draws you in. They offer a few types of donuts and they are so good. You can definitely tell quality over the donut chains. So I go in for a coffee and end up leaving with coffee and two treats for us! I got a chocolate cupcake and I got him a rice crispy treat. Everything was reasonably priced and really good. The cupcake was amazing. I admit I licked some frosting off even before breakfast. The frosting was heavenly- the perfect butter cream. I guess I am glad that we live in Boston and only get to Skan a few times a year otherwise I would have an addiction to this place. read more

Delicious! My sister-in-law and I stopped here on the way to the Bijou Salon across the street. I needed my coffee fix! I only had their iced coffee, but it was delicious. Not at all watered down like some iced coffee (I'm looking at you, Dunkin). They also graciously put some of the simple syrup/liquid sugar in there for me. They also didn't laugh at me when I told them how sweet I wanted it! Hot coffee is great unsweetened, but if it's cold, it's gotta be sweet. I also got a donut because I'm a sucker for a donut. Especially my favorite donut: cake donut with cinnamon/sugar. Which they had. OH MAN it was good. This seems like a pretty hoppin' spot, and their menu of non-bakery items is definitely intriguing. Why 4 stars instead of 5? It's a very small, quaint shop. Emphasis on small. When we were in there, all of the seats were occupied and there was no place to stand where we weren't in the way. It was raining outside and the salon wasn't open, so we had little choice but to go stand outside and try to find an awning to stand under. But I absolutely will be back. The coffee was great, the donut was AMAZING, and the staff were all very nice. read more

We put in a mobile order for pickup for two sandwiches (turkey and mozzarella) and a salad (south by sw). The time estimate was correct, despite being busy. Everything was amazing! This is a really cute place I like coming here a lot. They have a good selection of sandwiches and pastries. We had a Whoopie pie which was pretty good not the best and a brownie that was pretty good. I would say out of everything there savory items were the best I would go for the sandwiches. There definitely was a crowd here on a Sunday morning so make sure you prepare for that. All the staff was extremely friendly and handled the crowd very well. read more

Hidden behind the excellence of Sherwood Inn, this very small shop houses very bid flavor in pastries, and their breads are also good. We grabbed a loaf of ciabatta the last time we went, and will make this a stop every time we visit or drive-through Skaneateles. We can always detour when coming home from one of our wine tours of the Finger Lakes. read more

This place seems to get pretty busy on sunday mornings but the line moves really quickly and I highly recommend their plain glazed doughnuts - they were fantastic! This is an adorable little bakery right in the heart of Skaneateles. Take the line as a sign that this place is legit. Don't worry, the line moves fast. While I am always tempted by those fresh homemade donuts they are making right in front of me, I know I would be sad if I didn't order their breakfast sandwich with turkey sausage. I love the ciabatta bun too, perfectly irregular holes and a nice soft consistency. I pair this up with their delicious cappuccino. This is the perfect way to start the morning. read more

In one word - FANTASTIC. I love Skaneateles Bakery. From their amazing coffee to their delicious pastries/breakfast goodies, every single thing I have had here has been perfect. Some of my faves are the homemade pop tarts, raspberry brioche pastry, cinnamon rolls, and their egg sandwiches, which come on really delicious bread. First of all I love this spot, my husband and I go here for coffee and desserts everytime we are in Skaneateles. We also got the desserts and cake for our wedding from the Skaneateles Bakery and I can't express how amazing they were. The Macarons and Vienna Swirls were such a hit, and the cake...I think it was the best cake I've ever had (and to be honest I'm not a big cake person). Everything looked gorgeous and tasted even better. Tyema, the baker, was so so kind, helpful, and easy to work with. We will continue to get Skaneateles desserts whenever I can! read more

My morning go to when leaving an overnight or going into work. Great breakfast sandwich of ciabatta, great daily soups and great sandwich list. I love grabbing half a sandwich and a bowl of soup to go but it's also a nice place to sit and eat. I do wish their smoothies were a little better but I'm happy with everything else. read more

Sorry, I hate this place. They took over the previous bakery, made it look nicer, quintupled the prices and now produce pastries that are 1/10th as good. Prettier maybe, but far less than average in taste. I hate those stupid donut machines that all make the same mediocre donut. I see no reason to ever go back in, I've been disappointed every time with their soggy cookies, meh donuts and virtually tasteless confections. read more

We had their Applewood smoked bacon on ciabatta breakfast sandwiches this morning and I'm planning on coming back tomorrow for another. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and were quality. You know those thin slices of pre-cooked bacon you generally get on breakfast sandwiches at small coffee shops, this was not that. Real bacon which was deliciously crisp like I like it. The eggs were fluffy and creamy. All held together by a perfectly toasted, fresh ciabatta. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Let me start by saying that you must get their donuts. They are fried from a machine proudly in the front of their shop, proudly displayed for onlookers to see. When you get them, you'll find that the donuts are warm and fresh. Particularly, they are extremely soft and appears to be made from some variety of cake dough. The outside of the donut is like a thin crust and has a mild crisp to it. The cinnamon sugar is a winner. Not top sweet, and overall just perfect. Haven't tried their fresh dough, but that's next.
