So, I'm old enough to remember when this was the location of Discount Mart. I don't buy Skechers shoes because of a horrible endorsement by a reality entity. But my husband came here because they have extra wide shoes. He asked for help and got it. The salesman looked for the shoes and brought them to him. The store was empty, but it was also raining outside, but it was nice and clean. It's quite a big store and that's quite a feat because PayLess Shoe Stores, with much less footage, could look quite crappy. But my husband tried on three pairs of shoes and chose the two that he wanted. He walked out of the store in the shoes which was nice too. He was a happy camper, as was I. read more

It's been years since I had been in this store. But I needed to get some comfy shoes for an upcoming vacation, with lots and lots of walking. I have severely flat feet and so I was hoping to find something that could support me during the travel. They have several different shoes designated "arch support" on the boxes so I went with a pair of sneakers and some sandals. Service was friendly and fast and I was given these really cute reusable bags for my items. ::side bar, unrelated to the store itself, breaking in the sneakers has been very uncomfortable but the sandals have been fantastic. I was able to traverse hikes in India in them, with my only problem being sweaty feet making them slippery but I put miles on them in 100+ degree heat. I'll add a picture of my finds. read more

Great service! One of my co workers suggested this location for some comfortable work shoes. This store has a large selection little hard to find larger sizes for women. I was able to find a men's size work shoe that was comfortable. This review is really for the worker that helped me at register who was very friendly and knowledgeable made this experience very enjoyable . This is my favorite Skechers location because of the selection and staff. For that reason, it does get busy at the register and with the staff assisting other customers so patience is a virtue worth it because Skechers are good quality comfort shoes on the more casual side. My fave. read more

I called the Store to ask about Stability shoes. Manager lady puffing and breath blowing in the phone no patience and rude. Missed a huge sale. I had 13 Adults with me just asking a question before coming. Store Manager ask does the shoes say Stability on them and breathing like a dragon in the Phone. Manager is very rude. I went to return some sneakers and because the item was purchased online, the tax with different. They expected me to except the lesser amount then what the purchase price was. I responded with a reply, that because I purchased the item online at the purchase price, I expected the same amount back. She told me that she would not be able to do this. I replied with "then why are you offering in-store returns from an online purchase"? She's then replied with "if I don't like it I can try another store". But amazingly enough she was able to put the return through at the amount that I was owed. It's been almost a week now and I haven't seen my credit on my visa but I was told I could take up to 10 business days. I would also like to mention there was no effort put into offering me a replacement sneaker and you would think that would be standard procedure. read more

This is one of the better locations since they also have shoes that are on clearance. Whether I am on a shoe buying spree, trying to select a dozen pair of shoes, or just stopping in to buy one desperately need pair, I always find what I want. I can buy the newest styles showcased, or clearance items in open boxes along the perimeter. Visit the website. There is a lot of virtual window shopping that is to be done! Personally, I find the quality to be only okay. Turning out new styles as fast as possible has left Sketchers with no legacy. Will they ever design a shoe style that is as classic a Converse? The Sketchers I'm wearing right now are starting to really hurt my feet because either the shoe is malfunctioning, or perhaps the design is basically not good for my foot for some reason. read more

To be honest, I was never a fan of Sketchers. I just really did not like the style of shoe, so although living nearby - I never visited the outlet until recently. It all started when my mom bought me a nice pair of suede loafers that had memory foam soles. They were so comfortable, like athletic shoes and quickly became my favorite work or walking shoes. I went into the Outlet and found myself interested in the breathable fabric, comfy inner padding and sporty soles. Now that a few months have gone by, I own 4 pairs in different styles and colors. I'm officially a fan and can't lie that these shoes are comfortable, yet professional enough for the office. The clearance section has some pretty good deals, but the ones I typically buy are BOGO and sometimes as low as $16. Great deal! read more

I came in here today to exchange an online order. A lady with short curly hair no name tag was training the new guy, Christian, with my exchange. I mentioned I used points to make my purchase she said not to worry they would be refunded in 48hours. I said I was exchanging for essentially the same shoe in a big size and didn't want to come out of pocket for those points. Then she made a rude face (as if to say wtf) and some hand gestures saying it would be an even exchange while she scowled. If she didn't know what we were even doing, why was she speaking on it and how are you going to get mad for you giving me misinformation? If anyone should be bothered, it's me. Then they returned the shoes I came for and were about to give me the shoes I came with but I didn't want to interrupt and catch her attitude for their mistakes again. First time in this Sketchers Outlet even though I have seen it when I'm at the Del Norte Bart station. The store itself is huge and actually has a clearance section with shoes up to 70% off. If you plan on buying two pairs, the buy one get one (BOGO) free deal is still going on and is better than most of the clearance shoe prices. You are limited to the stock on hand which means you may not find your size in the shoe you want. I ended up buying a different pair because I wanted the deal but it wasn't the shoe I had been hoping to get two pairs of. I may still go to Livermore Outlets or Great Mall to see if they have the shoes I actually wanted. I had mixed experiences with the employees. The one person I spoke to on the floor seemed like he couldn't be bothered with customers and didn't want to acknowledge your presence or give you any eye contact when you asked a question. My cashier however, was very nice and she made up for the other employee's behavior. read more

Yelp and Google says this store close at 9 Pm. We arrive at the store 2 minutes before 8 pm, and the lady by the door says they close at 8 pm. She was rude in dealing with us as well. Came by to buy a couple pair of shoes the other day. The Buy 1 Get the 2nd 50% off special seems to be on every time I stop by... Shoe prices have gone down significantly. Sketchers were usually ~$50-60 in stores/malls and ~$40 on Amazon. This store had plenty of shoes as low as $25 with most in the $35-$40 range. Deals are pretty good. Store is huge and pretty clean for the most part with sections for men's, women's and children. I got some flats which hopefully are comfortable for walking when I travel later this month. Customer service was shoddy though. Although this location isn't publicized and it's virtually hidden from the street, it's a few minutes from Berkeley (just off route 80) and across from the El Cerrito BART. The location is self-service, so you can try on to your heart's content. Staff is usually nowhere to be found... Prices are 50-80% off retail and they also offer specials, like the one in the photo. Skechers are perfect for when you need the comfort of athletic shoes without the look of trainers. Get them for less, here! read more

Talk about disappointing and plenty of false advertising. My wife and I took our toddler in to the store to find a couple of new pairs of shoes. Since we're pretty close, we thought this would be an easy trip given that as any parent can tell you, buying kids shoes is never an easy process. Yes, the huge sign was on the front of the building proclaiming that you buy one shoe and get the second at 50% off. What they don't tell you is that the "sale" only applies to shoes over $24. For adults that's not going to really be an issue and the selection for Men and Women is really, really good. Kids, not so much. Second advertising issue we ran into. The kids shoes are in higher racks and had signs on top of them which stated that they were an "additional 30% off". Evidently the toddler shoes go by the same rule, unless they are $24 or more you don't get a discount. Here is where I have a problem, there are only 2 prices on these shoes: $15 or $20. So you've effectively put up a sign, which you know is completely false and misleading only to let people know when they make it to the register. Again with a toddler in toe, we were lucky to not have some significant melt down when we got to tell him that we weren't buying the shoes, because they weren't that great of a deal after all. After our conversation with the guy behind the register, it seems clear that they know they're being pretty underhanded on the kids shoe thing which begs the question why they don't simply take down the additional 30% off signs when they know they have no intention to honor them? Frankly Sketchers, even at an Outlet Store, you should be able to do better. read more

Arrived at closing time and the security guard forgot to lock the front door. He tried to kick me and my 7 yo daughter out so I asked for the manager. Would Sketchers kick out a long time customer? Been shopping here for the last 8 years! So "Terry" (what the security guard called her) the manager came out. She pleasantly reminded us that they were closed and could not begin closing procedures if they were to help us...but she could help us. Although she did personally help us out, it was at a rushed pace. However, once security let my wife in, I sensed a genuine effort to help us. We truly appreciate her time and effort to help us out. As a former retail store manager, I can say she went above and beyond the norm. "Terry" even gave us a discount on our purchase! Someone give this lady a raise! I used to really like this place, but today I went there with my mother and their selection has really gone downhill, not as much cute stuff as before, while you can still find stuff here, the customer service here sucks. One of the customers asked to get a free watch with purchase, the guy behind the counter ring us up gave some attitude trying to say they weren't giving them out anymore even when the announced that they were 10 minutes ago! I've been in this store three times & the first 2 times the staff was friendly, courteous & knowledgeable so I put 2 stars instead of 1. Today was a different story. The first time I went in my boyfriend & I each got a pair of shoes & he paid cash. I wore my shoes once, to walk my dogs, and discovered that they rubbed my feet in a spot that I hadn't noticed when trying them on. I decided to return them, but wasn't able to find the receipt. So, instead I was going to sell them on eBay. I put the shoes away & forgot about them for a month & a half. This Wednesday I went into the store to see if they had anything I liked. I couldn't find anything, but on my way out I asked a gentleman at the register, who was surrounded by 3 other employees, about returning the shoes. I told him we had paid cash & that I didn't have the receipt, but that the shoes were worn once & in great shape. He said that I should bring the shoes in & that they would look at them & determine if they were able to be exchanged. Today, I remembered to bring the shoes with me & when I got off of work I went to the store. I walked in & there was one of the young women from the register group on Wednesday. I explained the situation to her, she looked at the shoes & then said, We can't take any shoes back for credit or cash or store credit (which would have been fine with me) unless they're defective. I again said that the other employee had told me to bring them in & she just said the same thing. I didn't even bother to point out that she had been there when I spoke to the other associate. Here's my breakdown on how this should have happened: 1 She should have called a manager or told me she was a manager when she spoke to me. 2. If she IS a manager, she should have corrected the gentleman I spoke with on Wednesday so that I had the correct information. I know she heard me explaining the situation to him, she was nodding her head & gave me direct eye contact when I was speaking. 3. If I say the shoes hurt my feet, I believe they are defective, at least for me! Had I felt that part rubbing my feet & thought that it would hurt, I wouldn't have bought them. I was going to sell them on eBay, so it's not like a huge loss to me. My problem is that I asked a question, I was given direction from an employee in her presence & when I made the effort to return to the store she did as little as possible to assist me. And one more thing, they DO accept returns of shoes that have been worn. On their clearance rack there is a pair of size 7 1/2 Women's shoes that have been worn so much that the soles show the wear & the writing on the interior is rubbed off. If those weren't returned, and I'm sure they were, then someone stole the shoes from that box & put their used shoes in it. Do the employees look for that kind of thing? They should! Sorry, Sketchers, but you've lost me as a customer from this store & I don't often go to Oakland, so I probably won't shop there either! read more

I have worn mostly Sketchers for the last ten years. I can usually find a style that is comfortable and more or less attractive. Sketchers are inexpensive shoes and the outlets store makes them even cheaper by selling your second pair at 50% off the already discounted price. Not to much high fashion - Mostly casual and work styles here. There are some drawbacks to the brand. For one, they are constantly developing new styles and retiring "older" ones. The problem is; don't plan on going back for another pair of the shoes you liked 6 month ago. Secondly, many if not most of the shoes are over over designed and just don't do it for me. On top of that, I wear mostly loafers, so that rules out a lot of styles. But if you do manage to find a couple styles that meet your requirements, you'll leave with two pair for about $80. That's a good deal! read more

I was there this morning, first costumer of the day! I made a mind on a pair of shoes to buy but then couldn't find the unopened box. Looked around for the help but no body was there. The only two people working their was both at the counter helping other costumers. I waived my hand they couldn't see me, since I was all the way to the wall and they all the way to the front I clapped my hands to get the attention and expecting one minute finger signs on back. But she, (so called one of the manager )was saying something in return which I couldn't hear because of the loud music. She then came to me a while after and started confronting me to my surprise! She told me the thing that I did was rude and I have to come forward to the counter to ask any questions that I have. I have been working on costumer relation job too. I know this job really demands patience. There are costumer who misbehaves and nerve racking. But you should always give a benefit of doubt and your approach should always be focused toward costumer satisfaction. The mistake here, I already clapped and it is already done so better let it go but still if you had felt disrespected and you don't want that to happen again , end the conversation with a suggestion to come to you with smile , not start the conversation with suggestions with mad face . That is confrontational. The other mistake you cant label a costumer behavior telling them that was rude. Well be Professional. Get training. This is a art. You have to learn. If you can't keep up,find the warehouse job there are many. Don't be stressed and don't stress anybody. read more

I went to this Sketchers. I will never go back. The staff was not at all helpful. I am a person with a physical disability. When I used one of the disabled parking spaces, the person who parked next to it was over the line. I had to park at a slant in order for my door to swing wide open. Special parking spaces are made wider for a reason. This outlet is huge for a person who is servinot just elderly but also in pain. I don't believe there is anyone in this store trained in customer service. Worst of all was the security officer who told me not to park like that there anymore. I can do better than that. I spent several hours of my Saturday searching for a pair of cowboy-style boots to wear to a hoedown on Sunday. I expect most people have had the same experience. Anyway, it's Spring and most stores are carrying sandals. That's why I shop at the Skechers outlet. They always carry a huge selection and they often have styles that are off season, in addition to styles that are seasonless--especially for the Bay Area. I walked into the store and went straight to the boots section. They had a couple pairs of cowboy-lookin' boots, but I needed to blow people away with my down home country outfit. Stacy, a fabulous sales associate, chatted me up and told me they have other styles in the back that might be exactly what I was looking for. She brought out five pairs of shoes that they do not have on the floor and stayed with me while I tried them on so she could weigh in per my request. She even double checked all the prices for me and made sure I was looking at all of the selection they had. I DO NOT wear cowboy boots, but the shoes she showed me were cowboy boots that real cowboys would not be caught dead in. In other words, they were perfect for me. I found a FABULOUS pair of blue cowboy boots with tufts of cuteness along the outsides. They were exactly what I needed. Normally, the sales associates are nice, but only restock shelves. I like this shop because I am pretty much left alone, but the help I received from Stacy was super-fab. Skechers seems to always have a buy one get one half off sale whenever I am there. Perhaps it is a permanent feature of the outlet. They prices are already discounted anyway. They have shoes for women, men and children. They store is pretty big. The shop shares a parking lot with a bait & tackle shop, but there is always ample parking. Be wary of the speed bumps; they are a killer. read more

I buy shoes for my nieces and nephews here because the kids shoes are so cute and they always have a deal - like buy one pair, get the second 50% off. The deals are okay, but not FANTASTIC. We bought two pairs of kids shoes for $50 some dollars, which is not bad given the original price, but I don't really think of Sketchers as a premium brand, so to me, the price is just okay. Tons of light up sneakers for the little kids and sparkles for the little girls. Can't go wrong with that and don't have to worry about waiting for a sale. Also, love that it's in such a random place. I can't think what made Sketchers open a store in that spot, but thank you, Sketchers!! I will say that the rewards club is not very rewarding. They can't find you via your phone number, just email address and whatever points I earn, just seem to vanish. I have never been able to use them for anything. read more

I wanted black Skechers. So, after wasting a bunch of hours online and visiting department stores I finally stopped in here. OOOooooeeee!! It was like stepping into the Skechers online catalog-- even with clearance specials. You'll find the same prices that you'd find online as well as some sales specials. I found shoes that I absolutely loved for $79 but ended up getting 2 other pairs of shoes that I liked for a total of $27! AND I got a little frequent shopper thingy so that my 10th pair is free.
