My daughter actually found a nearly new pair of Doc Martens that she loves. I did buy a new pair of pants, alas did not find anything else for me. The dresses range from about $85 and up. I picked up a pre-worn, stylish fleece from The North Face for $30 and felt that price was reasonable and returned home to tell my son he should check the place out for the sort of outdoor men's pants he likes. Still a hidden gem, tucked between restaurants on the bustling thoroughfare, I spotted the brilliant color of a fuchsia dress in the window on my initial visit from half a block away. What Kenlynn offers is the opposite of fast fashion. An elegant, human, humane escape from disposable, forgettable garments. Each wearable piece in the store is the creation of her own hands: cashmere, baby alpaca and wool yarns and silks she procures from Italy and dyes herself to brilliant hues, knitted sweaters and dresses that beg to be worn, scarves that make perfect gifts and bring coziness we need year round in the Bay Area. After trying on more than my fair share and falling in love with quite a few items, I settled on an incredible piece she calls "the cocoon," which is every bit as warm and inviting as it sounds. In stunning magenta and purple, it's as vibrant as it is yummy! The perfect piece to nestle up with a book in. Or, in my case, while writing a book. Marin is the Mecca if you are either an ordinary shopper or a reseller in the high-end resale market this is a fabulous cause as well. They dress people who are looking for a new start and help them get professional clothes to go to interviews and such. The donations for the store come from very nice and wealthy donors in San Francisco and other areas of Marin County. The prices here are amazing. I mostly shop for myself but occasionally find something well enough price that I could resell it. They have a five dollar rack where they put everything that hasn't sold in two months. I found some amazing things on that rack today. I also bought myself some lovely things spent more than five dollars of course but not anywhere near the actual value of these designer pieces if you are anywhere near this place, you must stop by and support this wonderful cause.
