I am fairly new to Yelp, and I find that most people use it negatively to bash people and businesses because they did not get there way. I want to inform people that if they are in need of water sports and Snow sport equipment and gear then they need look no further than Ski Pro Mesa! I have been a customer of theirs for approx 8 years and have come to find that their knowledge and experience are second to none! Their staff is always very welcoming and quick to help where help is needed. I have had several great experiences with Nick & Larry who have gone above and beyond what I would consider great customer service. In situations where I am seeking knowledge and not planning on buying, they have still managed to spend the time with me to explain the equipment and give me the knowledge I need in order to make a smart purchase. I love to support local shops, and even if they do not carry an item that I "need to have" they will find for me and get it shipped to the shop whether it is an item they carry or not. I would normally give 1 star in this situation but I have had some really good experiences with ski pro in the past. Although last Tuesday 3/3 I picked up my board from a complete tune and a small amount of base work. Went up to ride on an primo flagstaff day (few and very faaaaar in-between). Board looked great, they did a knockout job fixing my mangled edges. Come 10:20 am wednesday, I could have easily broken a leg or torn an ACL. Not one but BOTH of my bindings came loose to the point where I might have been 4-5 turns from coming detached completely. I have tuned and repaired equipment for almost 20 years and have never run into this sort of situation. Yes, my board is complicated to setup (Risers, wide board, strange stance) but please for the love of god, train your staff to admit to the customer they had not properly setup someone's board. Honestly most people would not have noticed until it was too late. Good customer service, good execution, but damn loose bindings is the equivalent of half ass attaching wheels to a car. read more

Okay, so I bought all my new gear about a month ago and that was my first time visiting Ski Pro and everyone was fantastic. Flash forward to a few weeks later when my brand new boots/bindings broke in Utah on the top of the mountain. I called Ski Pro and spoke to Kenzy the Manager. She talked me off a ledge and told me to rent something and see her when I got back in town. I went in on Saturday and she was just as awesome in person as she was on the phone. Her and Cameron helped me out and got me set up with a new set within an hour so I could ride the next couple weekends! Customer service here sucks, especially when there are no adults present and it's just teenagers and college kids that sit on their asses and do nothing behind the counter. Equipment is overpriced, and their "sales" aren't even worth the gas money you'll spend to drive here. There was easily over $1000 worth of stuff I purchased this season, but they lost out on that opportunity because their prices are ridiculous. The worst part of my experience, however, was the damage they did to my board while I had it in for a basic tuneup. It was practically brand new when I brought it to them, ridden less than 5 full days, the top sheet was virtually flawless at drop off yet when I picked it up several days later, it looked like they flipped it over and dragged it through gravel for ten miles, it's now covered in deep, ugly scratches. And look, I get that it's never going to stay in perfect condition as I get more runs in, but this just makes it very obvious that they don't take any care in handling your expensive equipment when it's in their possession. I often go out of my way to support small businesses when the service is good and the pricing is at least somewhat competitive, but I'm extremely disappointed by all aspects of my experience at this location, so in the future I'll have my tunes done at the mountain and I'll order gear online where it's cheap and usually ships for free...I suggest you consider doing the same. read more

Terrible customer service...bought a ski boots and bindings...bindings broke after 1 use. Charged me $60 for repair and after saying they were under warranty but I guess since I fell and they broke this part of the bindings not covered...what? One use? SUSAN Owner couldn't care less about the situation...our family spent about $3000 in ski Equipment and they couldn't credit $60. Again broke after one use...so if u buy anything at this store don't expect them to stand behind the products they sell. Horrible. read more

Must be nice getting other people to pay for your rental equipment! My son broke a snowboard in half after being run off the bunny hill by an idiot advanced skier and he ran into a tree. No excuse there but Ski Pro made us pay the cost of a new board minus rental. They said it made them "whole again". We paid for a NEW board yet we rented a definitely USED board that's been used who knows how many times and Ski Pro already made money on. How is that making them whole? They benefited by getting a new board to rent and we got to pay for it. They also charged us tax so I they just did, in fact, sell us a used board for retail price!! Also, the first guy that helped us when we rented was clueless. Next time we're planning on buying our own and not renting from them!! read more

My rating is based on a few visits. I purchased my snowboard boots here last year and had a great experience, but my most recent buying experience was not good. When I bought my boots, I believe the guy who helped me was named Jeff, and he stuck with me forever as I tried on just about every pair they had. A young lady (didn't catch her name) got them heat-molded for me, and they also offered me 5% off for buying a brand new boot. I'd like to see this place stay in business. I live in Tucson, and really the only option is to buy gear online, which is only convenient if you know exactly what you want. When I'm in Phoenix, I like to come to Ski Pro to see and try on things. I got my own board and wanted to get my bindings from Ski Pro, and they ordered them for me. They only had a couple of last season's Flow bindings in stock, and the ones I wanted were the latest and greatest. I worked with Will, who ordered the bindings and kept me abreast of when they would come in. I went in to buy them on Black Friday. Before I could try them on, they wanted me to buy them and were very forward in saying they wouldn't mount them before I paid. Two or three people said that to me. Dudes, I get it, but I hadn't even tried them with my boots. When I'd bought my boots, they were so much more patient and friendly and shared in my excitement of getting new gear. This time, they seemed like they just wanted to make the sale and get me out. Will mounted my bindings in a hurry. I thought they would put on my stomp pad for me, but they didn't and seemed to have little interest in me beyond getting my money. Kind of disappointing. read more

We came in Friday 12/11/20 to get our son the whole setup for snowboarding. Sean was knowledgeable and friendly and took his time helping to find our son what he was looking for while being conscious of pricing for the overall bill. He even put everything together so our son was ready for the powder when we walked out. We also appreciate that he was wearing his mask the entire time and wearing it properly (I'm a nurse so this is a big deal for me). I was a long time customer of Ski Pro and having made purchases at all locations several times. I thought of myself as having some brand loyalty...at least when it comes to local retail purchasing. I do look online if it doesn't require holding or fitting. However, the last purchase I will ever make from Ski Pro was last summer. I bought a Ronix ski rope handle. This was one of their nicest and most expensive models, priced over $120. At checkout I was told about their 2 week return policy. The following weekend we went to the lake. After 2 or 3 runs, I noticed it was already coming apart. Not just in one location either. The rubber grip was tattered already in two different places, the seams were falling apart, and the clear coating was flaking. It never touched anything other than water. Not the board, swim deck, boat, or anything. Literally, about 3 hours of use by two very experienced riders. The next weekend, 11 days after the purchase, I returned to the store to exchange the rope for a different one and was basically told to "F off". The 17 year-old stoner behind the counter said they couldn't return the item. I wasn't even looking for my money back, I just wanted an in-store credit to buy a different handle. The answer was still no. His position was that they can't take back the product because it had been used. Yet he couldn't explain why they allow returns on all other ski accessories which I've purchased mass amounts of over the last 7 year. I've even returned a wake board I bought from Ski Pro after taking to Lake Powell for a week! Back then (2002ish) Susan, the owner, ran the Camelback location and had a better grip on things. So anyhow, I asked the clerk how I would've know the product was faulty unless we used it. He shrugged his shoulders and said "sorry dude, you own it now". Apparently, the two week policy is only for unused items. I asked how they assess if something's been used (given that I've returned numerous items and admitted they were used) i.e. boots that were pinching, shades don't fit right, board not aggressive enough, etc. He stated "it's a case by case basis". I couldn't believe the product warranty and company return policy was being judged by a 17yr old kid and basing his decision on if an item looks used. He even said to me "if it looks used, how would we be able to sell it to anyone else?" I asked him why they would sell a faulty product to someone else. He shrugged. After about 4 minutes of him not being able to explain this ridiculous policy, I decided to leave the product with them in hopes they would reconsider their position and reminded him I would be happy to apply the amount to another handle. No dice. That is the last time I'll ever shop there. Period. read more

I've shopped at their store when it was located on Southern and at their new location, and every time has been an excellent experience. Between locations, the staff hasn't changed much. Seems like pretty much everyone that works there goes skiing or snowboarding and can offer good insight to the equipment they sell. They offer a wide variety of snow gear and also some water sports gear. Great store for the gear geek in all of us. The rental department is friendly, courteous and knowledgeable in fitting first time skiers/snowboarders with the right ski/board and boots. Overall, superb shopping experience. read more

Terrible customer service. Dropped off the boards with two days to get them waxed, nothing crazy just a basic wax. Came back to get the boards and they charged me $35 per board, $70 for two boards for just a wax. Come to find out they charged me a $20 rush fee on each board? How are you going to charge me a rush fee more than the waxing is itself? That makes no sense. Talked to the manager about it because when I dropped the boards off he didn't even tell me that there was a rush fee. So the fact that I found out there was a rush fee and it was more than the primary waxing after I get the boards is kind of annoying. The least they could've done is removed one but the manager was rude. Won't be coming back here to get waxes. read more

Can't say enough good things about the folks at Ski Pro Mesa. As any skier knows, ski boots rank up there with the most uncomfortable footwear on the planet, which is further exacerbated when one has feet as weird as mine. Yet they didn't quit until they ensured my boots were fitting great -- from identifying the right pair, to heat fitting, to further modifying the boots to eliminate hot spots and pain points.
