What a great shop for families who want to navigate the expensive world of ski equipment especially when kids will grow out of their gear far faster than they can wear it out. Didn't want to spend a fortune on skiis. Glad I came here. They have packages from $99 and up. I wanted new boots & skiis & wanted an upgrade. Was out the door around $480 and they gave me a free ski bag. Tim did a boot fitting which I greatly appreciate. He was nice and knowledgeable and made sure it was a perfect fit. If I could give them a 100 stars I would!!! March 31 I found out my son had taken up snow boarding and was doing so without a helmet or actual real snow boarding gear. He told me it was expensive and he was making due So me being mom I called and spoke to Zoe and explained the situation. I gave her my sons info and his budget and they sent him a questionnaire on what he has, what he needs, what level he is and so on. My son filled it out and sent it back. Monte started sending him pictures of what he thought would work best for him, (my sone lives in Southern California.) April 13th a large box showed up for him with everything he needs!! It's a giant warehouse of used things and some assortments of new in a maze of a dark warehouse. It's overwhelming and unorganized without any pricing. I've had the pleasure of working with the owner and as stated with the other reviews, he is a fine gentleman of a JERK who yells at his employees. This fine human being will pant and slams his hands down and throw a tantrum like a child if he's guessing the pricing on his equipment and you question why it had changed from just15 minutes ago? They really need to get their act together and put a price tag on everything and have it organized. Pricing there is 388 for package for non brand names and 488 for brand name includes boots, board, bindings. Update: I went on Amazon.com Prime to buy my snowboard package. They had a large inventory of new and use equipment (except not a lot of helmets). We got new rear entry boots for $99. Staff was nice and was helpful when trying to find what worked. They offered for us to bring our skis in so they can adjust the bindings to the boots. read more

Saw the website, with decent prices so we went in to get my wife some bindings. (Her bindings broke last week) found the bindings that matched the pictures with the bindings in store, he showed me the correct bindings. He said they were $120. I showed him his website saying $75. Said "It's wrong. I can sell them for $100 but that's it." So I said, "can I just buy them online and put store pickup, to pay $75?" He said "no, website is wrong, I can't sell them that low, I would fix the price with the online purchase as well." Needless to say, won't be going back in. Most of the crap there is old and way overpriced. Some 'new' items cheaper than other stores, but that's because they are 3-4 years old, just never been used. read more

Think of a set of skis and they have it there! This is place is like a museum as much as it is a store. Want old wooden skis with leather bindings? They have them. Want a set of Rossi Soul 7s, they have them. Do you have to do some digging? Sure do, but that's part of the fun. Do you need to haggle a bit? Sure but again part of the fun. Do you get great deals? The owner is knowledgeable, respectful, and pleasant. The boot fitter, Tim, is super knowledgeable, helpful, and overall worth his weight in gold. We almost didn't come here because the online website only showed a few selections, but we popped in and were impressed with the inventory warehouse. Turns out the website is new and only has a small sample of their inventory. Seriously go to SkiTrucks for used equipment for a great price and fantastic service. Cannot recommend enough. They will even do exchanges if you end up not liking what you purchased. read more

This place has a ton of mostly older ski equipment to include skis, boots, poles, parts, goggles, apparel, helmets, snowboards, gloves... you name it. The majority of the used stuff looks like ex-rental equipment, especially the stuff for kids. Prices are a lot higher than I expected. For instance, toddler's used (read ex-rental) skis and rear entry boots varied between $100-150. The set I picked out were $150 for reasons I couldn't quite grasp - they were nothing special. Economics would dictate you'd want to lower prices to get rid of such an excess of inventory (there is a huge excess). But it's not my business. I just got the boots ($34) and found some better skis elsewhere for $50. Bottom line: this place would be better if prices were lower. read more

Been to this place a couple times over the past couple years. Pretty big selection of everything, but most everything is pretty beat up. Once in a blue moon you might get lucky and find something in decent condition. But the bigger point is THE OWNER IS AN ASS. And he's rude, as other people have mentioned. As you walk into the shop, don't expect a 'welcome' or 'how can I help you' or 'let me know if you need any help' or anything like that. Expect something more along the lines of 'how much will you be spending today?' or 'what will you be buying today?' and in an aggressive tone of voice. I don't know if he's trying to be funny, but it's not, and it's certainly not the way to cultivate a relationship with your customers. Further, last time I was in (which will be the last time I'll ever be in), I made a concerted effort to reply to his caustic greeting by saying, in the most polite manner, that I was looking for some skis, about 180cm and with about a 110mm waist. He then launches into a full-on crazy-person's rant about how 'THE SKI INDUSTRY IS LYING TO YOU! FAT SKIS ARE A FAILED EXPERIMENT! BLAH BLAH BLAH!' Literally yelling. I quickly ducked out of sight and found an employee who rolled his eyes as a gesture of an unspoken apology for 'that guy.' The employees there seem cool enough. But I'm never gonna recommend this place simply for the behavior and attitude of the owner. read more

I first found Ski Trucks about 3yrs ago while working in SLC and wanted a new pair of skis. They have quite the selection of new and used skis ranging from beginners to professionals . After viewing all my options I selected on a fun colorful Roxy as I'm just out there to cruise the slopes. They even assisted to help stretch the shell of my boots. I was unable to take my skis & boots with me immediately however they shipped them to me in Vegas. Which was a great bonus! As I've gotten older the black diamonds are no longer of interest so there's really no reason to spend money on the name brands that I've previously skied on like K2, Salomon, Nordica, Rossignol etc... I'm super happy still 3yrs later with my skis and SkiTrucks even adjusted my bindings to my new boots I purchased elsewhere as I have extremely wide feet and my precious boots no longer fit. I will continue to shops here as they are local and give you honest advice as well as their honest opinion, which you can't find in a corporate store. read more

The Ski Truck is complete garbage. They sell 15 year old rental equipment for 5 times what it's worth. I took a friend from out to town to the ski truck because he needed snowboard gear. To outfit my friend from the ski truck would have cost $250 for ancient trashed equipment. It's obvious that the owner and employees haven't been skiing since Park West was around and they think equipment from the late 90's is 'almost new'. My friend and I decided to go to Recreation Outlet where he purchased a brand new board, boots, bindings for $200. Granted, the equipment wasn't the latest and greatest, but it was perfect for an intermediate snowboarder, cheaper than renting, and he owns the equipment. The Ski Truck is a bad joke that preys on naive tourists and unsuspecting locals. read more

I can't believe I'm the first person to review this place. I believe it's been around for 20 years. It's like a Costco for skiers and snowboarders and is located in an old warehouse-looking building. Easy to find though off the freeway...they have big billboards and signs directing you to their shop. This place boasts being "the largest used and new ski shop in the world." They do have an incredible amount of inventory for really good prices. My bf and I first came here looking for discounted lift tickets and snowshoes. We walked away happy with both. We came back for ski packages. The young gentleman helping us out spent over two hours helping me and my boyfriend find the perfect boots. We must have each tried on at least 10 pairs. It was a quiet week day, so we weren't rushed out of there since there weren't many customers in the store. The package came with boots, skis, bindings and poles for a very affordable price. They have different types of packages you can mix and match to fit your price range. There's a large inventory of new and used skis and snowboards. They also have a huge supply of new clothing, that's a few seasons old. They buy closeout and liquidated gear, which is why they have such low prices. Definitely check them out if you are in Salt Lake City and plan to ski or snowboard! read more

Absolutely amazing family-owned business. I was visiting town and part of a big (11 person) group planning on going skiing. They helped all of us rent ski and snowboarding gear for extremely reasonable prices that fit our student/recent grad budgets. The stuff we bought was super reasonably priced too! Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. Someone (not totally sure who since I wasn't part of organizing this) even gave us a ride to and from the ski resort for a super reasonable rate (noticing a trend yet?) per person that ended up taking a huge load off of us logistically. They sold me 2-3 pairs of old snowboard bindings via eBay. I was buying these one at a time; I'd buy a pair, and then they'd list another pair, and I'd buy them, and then they'd list another pair... So I contacted them directly and asked if I could buy all of them in one transaction. Someone replied to my e-mail, asking me to call them directly. So, I called them. Unfortunately, I got the owner, and he was clearly irritated that I was bothering him. (Hey, JERK, YOUR employee TOLD me to call!) He basically told me that he didn't know if he had any more of these bindings, and he had quite a bit of incoming inventory to sort through--implying that I just needed to be patient and quit bothering him.
