Update: 5 stars for COVID safety precautions. After hiding out for over a year, I recently saw Gina for my first post COVID treatment. She is EXTREMELY conscientious about COVID safety. Gina wore 2 masks and a face shield. Clients must not remove mask until Gina is ready to begin the service. Clients are requested to leave bags in their cars. When I had to sign a receipt, Gina alcohol sprayed the pen before handing it to me. And of course the facial itself was as amazing as it's always been! I went for my first REAL facial as in prior to this what I thought was a facial was just a little scrubbing. This was the real deal. Gina is awesome! She did an unbelievably thorough job on my face and even though it hurt a little, she had me "breathe through it." I've been going to Gina for almost 10 years. Even when I lived in Hollywood, I'd drive all the way to Santa Monica just to have my waxing done by Gina. After almost 20 years of going to aestheticians in both Northern and Southern CA, Gina is by far the best. Burke Williams' facials didn't even come close, though I tried them once or twice over the years. Not only is Gina kind, flexible and attentive, but she is ALWAYS going the extra mile for her clients. She's always giving her clients a sample of a product, or a complimentary face wash (which feels wonderful), a special masque during a facial, or some other thoughtful extra. She's even taken me downstairs to the beauty supply to help me put on concealer after I was a little red from extractions. After reading Marissa's review, I'm hoping she'll give Gina another shot. I have never known Gina to give suggestions or feedback in a way that isn't professional or kind. Gina WILL give you specific feedback about your skin, and that can sometimes not feel wonderful (in my case, I have sun damage). However, I'd rather have an expert be honest and direct with me, and tell me what I can do to fix a problem (if there is one). I do have sun damage, it is visible, and Gina is always suggesting new products and treatments to help me keep it to a minimum or reduce the signs. I appreciate that. Just simply knock on the door when you arrive to see if she is busy with a client or not. She was my savior, managing to squeeze a quick wax in between clients even though I did not have an appointment. She not only really knows what she's doing but she's also honest and trustworthy -- which makes a big difference when you're looking to an expert to give you her advice on what products to use.
