Here are my thoughts after having had 1 Laser & Light Facial and 5 of the Ultra Fractional Laser Facials. In a nutshell: save your money. 1) FACIAL: -Exceedingly painful. They don't use numbing cream here. I'm no nurse so I can't authoritatively speak on the necessity/benefits of not using numbing cream, but I've had several laser facials at different spas and have never been to a place that didn't use any. Skin Laundry's reasoning for not using any is that they want client feedback on how much the laser hurts (they'll periodically ask you to rate your pain on a scale of 1-10). But like... why is that necessary? Isn't this stuff clinically tested so they'd know if they're burning your face off without you telling them it feels like it's burning? Sorry... don't follow this logic. -Dubiously qualified staff. Ask any question off-script regarding the facial (or anything in the landscape of laser facials) and they won't (nay, can't) answer you. They have to defer everything to a "head nurse" off-site who knows better than they do. It's pretty scary that this person that can't answer your basic question about facials is using this medical grade laser on your face, but whatever. -Lacking results. I came in for 5 of their top-of-the-line facials and haven't seen any difference in skin health. 2) CUSTOMER SERVICE: -"You're going to have to email corporate"-style customer service. You're dealing with a corporate institution. This means if you have any issues with scheduling, payment, etc. you're going to go through hell trying to reach any resolution. The front desk ladies, nice as they are, are going to be utterly unhelpful and infuriatingly hands-off with their "can't do anything about it here right now", "that's above my pay grade" type attitudes. It really isn't their fault. The system is designed so that Skin Laundry corporate can fleece their customers without having to look in the faces of the people they're fleecing. How convenient. -Unforgiving tight scheduling. If you book a Laser & Light facial, keep in mind that it is only 15 minutes. They will literally book clients back-to-back to the minute - they've built in absolutely no grace period. So make sure you get there well before your appointment or you'll be charged the full $75 for being 5 minutes late (and you won't get the facial). Ultimately, you get what you pay for... no results, no customer service. Go to Skin Thesis in West Hollywood for better luck. read more

My mom once told me that laser facial is good for your face. And so one day that we were at the mall, we decided to check this place out. We both agree that the price is reasonable. Out of the blue, I decided to book my first laser & light facial (it was free as well). I was scared and didnt know what to expect. So the nurse and front desk assured me that it wasnt painful. It was actually just a little uncomfortable. Before you begin, they will give you a goggle for protection. So here's my opinion about the procedure itself: Laser = a little annoying. It feels like someone is pulling your skin. Just a very light pull though. It wasnt painful at all. Light = a little uncomfortable due to the light. I usually have my eyes closed the entire procedure and still, I can see the light. After your first treatment, they will try to sell you one of their bundles or have you get their monthly membership. As a first timer, you get some discount. So I got the package of 5. So far I've only used 2/5. I haven't really seen any difference yet. PROS: - Although this is the smallest location I've been to, customer service is still phenomenal. The girl at the front desk greeted me right away. She was friendly and even offered to get me water while I was sitting waiting for my appointment. - Wendy was my nurse that did my 15 minute laser facial. She was super conversational, listened to my concerns, and focused on the areas I felt were most problematic. It honestly felt like I was talking to a friend the whole time. I highly suggest to request Wendy during your next appointment. - I've been going to SL for about 3 months now. I get treatments every 2-3 weeks. This was my 3rd facial & light laser session. After every treatment, I walk out with glowing, smoother skin!! It's amazing because it looks like I put highlight on, but it's actually just the natural shine reflecting off my face. - I've seen a huge reduction in the amount of acne scars and dark spots after every session. I'm actually about to purchase my second bundle because it's seriously worth it. CONS: - The only downsides about this specific location is that it's smacked in the middle of the Glendale Galleria mall. If you're not from around here, it might feel like a maze trying to find it. -And I HATE HATE HATE the fact that they don't have their own private restroom like the other locations. You have to go over to the food court restrooms to wipe your face off and those restrooms are dirty and smelly. Come on, Galleria. PRO-TIPS: - Since the laser & light facials are only 15 minutes long with no downtime, you can actually come in and get a treatment daily until your skin gets to how you want it be be. (This will get super costly since one session alone is $75) SO BUY THE BUNDLE!!! - There are three levels of lasers. Work up the intensity level after each session!! I never had anything done on my face before so even lowest level made me feel a slight burning sensation. However, after my 3rd session I can endure the highest setting. read more

I had my first Signature Facial yesterday with Stephanie and she was just delightful and full of knowledge. I'll admit I was a little skeptical because there are a lot of unpleasant reviews about front desk staff, but both ladies who helped me were very nice. I have been dealing with lots of hyperpigmentation and acne scarring from a awesome maskne breakout earlier this year but recently had surgery under my eye for skin cancer so I had to wait for that to heal. When you sign up on the website they give you a list of contraindications and thankfully I read that and saw I needed to get my doctor to sign a medical clearance to say I am clear of skin cancer. I totally appreciate that they do this, but do think they should include that immediately in the sign up process so there is no confusion. (Maybe they do and I am forgetting) But regardless, its for your safety, and theirs. People are complaining about being late for appointments, and honestly yes crap happens, but they have increments of time allotted for clients, so if you are late, then the entire day is running late....soooo don't be late. So, today I decided to try something different. While at the Glendale Galleria, I walked in to this place to try the Laser & Light Facial. Having had no experience with any facial treatments prior, aside from the usual soap and water I must say this was defiantly a treat. To my surprise there were not one, but two Heathers working at this location. Heather H. was the admin, while Heather S. was the medical personnel. Heather H. Was very personable and friendly, she guided me through the many options of skin care as well as the signing up process. She was able to answer any questions or concerns I had and she did it with a friendly smile. Heather S. was the brains of the operation as she was the one with medical experience. While in the back room she made me feel very comfortable. She recapitulated the entire process from a medical standpoint which was briefly discussed prior with Heather H. I learned that they are levels to the skin to which only a laser can reach, pretty cool stuff. Anyway, prior to starting on my face with the laser, she used it on my hand just for me to get an idea of what to expect. In my opinion, that helped tremendously. When the actual treatment started, I felt slight pinches all over my face that did not cause any pain but was a bit annoying. The overall process was clean and quick. This is something I can see myself doing once a month moving forward. Thank you Heather H. And Heather S. for making this a wonderful experience for me. This place is a total scam! Don't believe the high ratings. Customers were offered a free mask for posting good reviews. They have great marketing, that's how I got sucked into coming here. I had 10 sessions here with classic and fractional laser. No results or improvement at all. Every nurse will give you different suggestions. Every time I voiced concern that I haven't seen any improvement, the people at the front desk make you do the SAME list to 12 questions of what your skin concerns are?!? Really??! The cost is $200 for treatment that last less than 15 mins. Treatment is performed by a nurse. Nurses already make decent salary, why do they insist and put on receipt that we have to tip? I don't tip my nurses when I visit my doctor or dentist. I don't tip my mechanic. This place is just horrible! Not only to you but waste money, the receptionists and nurses treat you like an idiot. Wish I would've seen the reviews before coming to this place. I booked an appointment I was give the appt time frame online of 6pm-6:15pm to arrive. I arrived at 6:10. They are def misleading people. They turned me down saying I was late. When clearly I booked an appointment. What kind of service is this? Do they not want business? Just curious. I went in for a relaxing facial and got no facial and verbally abused by the girl at the front desk. I wish I had read the reviews for this specific location before booking my laser appointment. I've had nothing but amazing experiences with Skin Laundry since I started my membership here. I usually go to the West Hollywood location (you can even see I left them an amazing review a month ago). I decided to book the Glendale location since it is technically closer to me. I had a really hard time finding the location since it's inside the Galleria. My appointment was at 11:30 and by the time I found the location it was 11:36. When I walked in the laser tech opened the door and seemed like she was ready to take me immediately. The girl at the front counter however notified me that I was past the 5 min grace period and that they would not be able to see me. She said they were fully booked for the day and I said okay no worries I understand. They helped me rebook in West Hollywood where I usually go and I said thank you and left. 20 min later I received a notification saying my appointment was cancelled and that I owe a $25 cancellation fee since I didn't give 12 hours notice. I was confused since I was not notified in store of a fee and I rescheduled not cancelled or no-showed. I called the store to ask why I was being charged a fee for an appointment I did not want to cancel and rescheduled. Melissa at the front counter was so rude. She told me yes I was going to be charged because I was late. I explained to her that I understood but I didn't cancel I rescheduled and that if they charged my card I would be disputing the claims. She then told me that I "have bad hostile energy and am so rude, putting all of this onto her as a human and it's not her issue and that she doesn't want to speak to me" I asked if I could speak to a manager or someone else and she repeatedly continued to tell me that I was rude and how it's not her problem I was 6 min late and to just "call back later". After repeatedly asking for a manager she finally got one for me and we were able to resolve the issue within 30 seconds. I never once commented on Melissa's demeanor and explained that I'm sorry she feels like I'm putting it on "her as a person" that I just needed some help and that since she works there that's who I have to ask. The entire interaction was EXTREMELY unprofessional. It left me with a bad taste in my mouth about SkinLaundry and I'm considering other laser establishments the second my membership ends. Until then I'm going to stick to the West Hollywood location where the experience is always pleasant. Glendale needs to hire more professional and friendly staff since this is clearly an ongoing issue. *UPDATE* An hour after this review I tried to book myself since the front counter was unhelpful and low and behold they did have an appointment available for the same day which I booked. I made my way back and got my fractional laser treatment. Neither of the girls who I spoke to in the morning were present and my treatment overall went well. My laser technician was so sweet. They are always the best part of the skin laundry experience. She apologized on behalf of her coworker (which she didn't have to) and was very friendly. I would give SL a 1 star review if it weren't for the facials themselves. Customer service is terrible and made me discontinue the treatments although I was seeing results. Really unfortunate. During SL's anniversary they had a sale which I was e-mailed about for $5 facials. I immediately clicked the link and booked the appointment. The next day I get a call asking if I was on my way for the appointment and if not I would be charged a $25 no show fee. I wasn't near Glendale to even try to make it work. I explained to the staff I had booked the appointment for the anniversary date for the $5 facials and she said they couldn't do anything about it and to contact someone through the website. So I did and received and e-mail without any sort of apology or refund. I was not only put off by this but quite upset as I really thought the treatments were helping keep my adult acne at bay (a long with diet, saunas and supplements). I have not been back to SL since and do not plan on doing so. Reading recent reviews it seems that I am not alone in my SL journey and hope that they can get it together because the facials are a great idea. WORST. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. EVER. TWICE now I have been reprimanded about what time I arrived because they want to go on break. The first time I was on time but the receptionist and nurse were chatting in the back. Second time there was a huge accident on the 2fwy and I called to let them know I was going to be late. They informed my I was going to be charged the 25 dollar late fee. Come to find out there is a 10 min grace period that is CLEARLY stated in their website that they did not inform me about. I would of made it in time within that grace period. The receptionist once again, only cared about going on break. I get that you have to regulate people that come in late, especially perpetually late, but not letting people know about the grace period, and being rude, why? I'm not the only one of my friends that has had an issue at this location. Just rude. Also, they should let you know that you might break out more at the beginning of starting your treatments, maybe I would of held off a bit until after I had a big event to attend. But acne for a wedding is cool too! Also, they do not let you know when your auto renew is going to get charged again, and you can't cancel it at location or over the phone. Since I first went to the West Hollywood location (which is beautiful), it's always a hassle driving there from where I live in Los Feliz. So when the receptionist mentioned that they just opened a new location inside the galleria I was thrilled! I didn't notice much of a difference after my first treatment (Friday), however I did notice how much smoother my face looked after applying makeup Sunday. I just got my second treatment (Monday) and still don't see any super noticeable results. I spoke to one of the ladies that works there and she said while everyone's skin is different, she noticed it after 12-13 treatments. I don't know if I can afford that but here's hoping to see results after 3 sessions. More perks about going to this location over West Hollywood. Plenty of free parking (duh it's in the mall), while WeHo closes for an hour in the middle of the day and all day Sunday, this location has your typical mall hours which means open on Sunday!! It's not as busy as the other locations. While the treatments are still within eat shot of each other, there's at least a door to separate you, vs. the curtain WeHo has. Both locations have really nice and helpful staff and are currently offering new clients 3 treatments for $75. You can also text them ahead of time to skip the wait. And although they do have a line of skin care line, they don't push it on you, in fact they don't even mention it!! Plus they have free water bottles for you to take on the go. Since hydration is so good for the skin! Oh and don't come thinking you can go out afterwards and apply makeup or go to the gym and work up a sweat. They make it clear not to apply makeup for at least a couple of hours, and not to work out since sweat will just clog your pores that you just laser blasted clean. read more
