My skin was breaking out like crazy and I seriously didn't know what to do. I tried everything and after watching a couple of videos I found out about a hydrafacial. I work in Henderson and was looking for a place to get one done right after I got out of work. I called this place and they were so nice about giving me a time I could really tell they cared about my business. When I walked in I chatted it up with the owner she was super nice and funny. I waited a little bit then Carrie came out and grabbed me for the hydra facial. She explained everything to me about the hydra facial and gave me really good tips for someone like me who has oily skin. Carrie is an angel and was super easy to talk to. She answered all my questions about fighting acne and was very professional. I will def be back if I could give this place ten stars I would! I found skin bar a few years back when I was looking for a place that offered dermaplane. I've been here numerous times and all the estheticians have been great. I like dermaplaning because it gets rid of all the peach fuzz and dead skin on your face leaving it super smooth. Today I had Ellie and she was super sweet. She took her time and was very thorough with the dermaplane, being gentle and careful not to miss any patches. She finished the facial with lots of much needed extractions, serums, and a wonderful neck massage. Ellie really took her time and was very caring. After my facial FiFi helped me find the right shade of Jane Iredale power for my face and applied it. The color I had been using for a long time was definitely not my shade! I moved here to Vegas from Los Angeles in June 2009, I was going my eyebrow designer in L.A. every 2 weeks...I say designer because let's be honest anyone with an Esthetician license can throw wax on your face and pull it off with muslin strips...I wanted to find someone that really knew what they were doing and was able to shape my brows to frame my face. Most women don't understand that eyebrows are the frames of your face and you should have your eyebrows done/waxed/shaped even if your eyebrow growth is slow or you have very little to work with...as a true eyebrow designer will be able to show you how to fill in or use powder to make your brows look their best. Anyway, as you may have already guessed I'm VERY particular about my eyebrows and I found the perfect eyebrow designer in Katrine (Kat) Kass at Skin Bar in Henderson. She is amazing with the wax and tweezers, she always takes her time in trimming and shaping my eyebrows to my expectations. Kat at Skin Bar is the best in the Henderson/Vegas area and I wouldn't trust anyone to do my brows but her...unless you're willing to drive 4 hours to L.A....but that's a whole different review. read more

Long over due review..came here for a oatmeal facial since this is the only type of facial my skin can tolerate till I came here. This was my first visit with them and as soon as I walked thru the door the aesthetician rushed me in her room asked why I wanted that facial and started up-selling me other treatment..this is not my first facial ever.. I felt rushed and ignored because she obviously wasn't hearing my desires on why I want a specific calming facial because she keeps insisting on doing am facial dermabbrasion or some sort.anyways I should have walked out but I decided to still give skin bar chance. I am really sad I'm leaving Las Vegas for a few reasons, but a big one is that I just recently discovered SkinBar. I was looking for Jane Iredale makeup, which is insanely prestige in that you can't find it anywhere ever. It'll run you about $40-50 for foundation, but it's the only thing that I have found that works perfectly with my skin. Their product selection otherwise is also awesome--Obagi, Moroccanoil, Dermalogica. Stuff you can't find at Sephora! Services are also great. I've gotten facials and eyebrow waxes from a couple different girls, and have been really pleased with the results each time. It is not cheap, but for me, it is an awesome indulgence that I'll miss when I move. The owner is super sweet, as is the front desk girl, Jordan. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a higher-end skin care place. read more

SkinBar is now the only place I will go for waxing. Let me be clear, this is more a review for Kat than it is for the establishment. Kat is amazing. She shares the same view about hair as I do - hate it. I was apprehensive to even get a brazillian done again due to my past experience with a different person on the other side of town (before we moved), but I decided to give Skin Bar a chance anyway, as they were the best priced in my area. I called and talked with someone on the phone (not Kat) and they put my hesitation at bay. She informed me Kat is "obsessive" about hair and does a phenomenal job. I have to say, I was happy I chose Skin Bar after all. I have been going fairly regularly and have very little to complain about. Kat is very attentive and I am always comfortable with her. The only thing I would ever possibly mention is that there have been a couple times where it seems as though I have a few too many stray hairs left over. I understand that my skin and hairtype can be a challenge sometimes, though, so I take it in stride as she does take her time to do her best and get all of the hairs out. Once she finishes with the waxing, often she will use tweezers to make sure she gets as much as possible. Overall, I would, and HAVE, recommend Kat @ Skin Bar to others. The establishment itself is a bit small in the front area, but well cared for. Extremely pleased with my visit at the Skinbar last week! I came in for the first time last Saturday and tried their signature facial. It was great that their overall technique for this facial is the same as the ones I've experienced at the spas inside the hotel and it was just $75.00! My treatment was with Breanna and she was good! The place itself is not that big, but once inside the room it is very relaxing. Again, also comparable to the ambience at the spas inside the hotels. At the end of my facial, they recommended the products they used on me. But I passed on them. Luckily they were not the type to be pushy about their products. Overall this place is definitely worth a visit! They have punch cards where you get discounts off your treatments and eventually a free treatment after 6 I believe. I've been seeing Kat Kass at Skin Bar for several years now for a variety of services. She does an amazing job on all fronts! Below are just a few of my experiences: I had issues with my skin randomly from makeup I had been wearing for years. I wanted to try mineral makeup but had some apprehension. Kat had me sample some in the store one day and I came back the next day and switched over completely. My skin felt great and soothed. Within a few months, my skin completely cleared up and I've never looked back. Her honesty is something that sets her apart. I tried one product that I loved and then at some point, they changed the formula. She told me and said, I" don't really like what they did to the formula, It's not as effective. " She provided me with a sample of the new version and she was right, it somehow was no longer effective. She encouraged me to reach out to my dermatologist for a different product that was prescription vs. telling me to purchase the same item. A month ago, she waxed my eyebrows and my 6 year old son said to me when I came home, "Mom, your eyebrows look amazing!" Given that children have no filter and are not inspired to randomly provide compliments. It should give you a base understanding of how talented she is in her field . When I see her for treatments, I always leave feeling spectacular. Recently, I had a special event to attend and I reached out to her about doing my makeup for the evening. During the application, I asked if she could explain how she makes the choices that she does and what is the process she uses. My hope is that I could duplicate this in the future. I went to the event and had rave reviews on how I looked, beautiful and natural. I found the Skin Bar "by accident," after moving here three years ago and have been a client ever since. I love it here and would recommend it to anyone looking for something as simple as an eyebrow arch or face wax to a facial peel, derma planing, massages and more. They offer complete services of facial care and skin therapies to combat any issue or just for a relaxing facial treat and "spa-like experience." There's also many varieties of face creams, moisturizers, tonics, cleansers, makeup and body-quenching treatments. So much to say here! For starters, the atmosphere is very "spa-like" and calming. When you first walk in, there are oodles of products to choose from, but they're placed in a way that's not overwhelming. Usually I purchase a product at the end of a service, but if I ever decide to wait on a purchase, they never push you into buying. Everyone is very sweet and laid back here, which makes each visit what it should be - a very relaxing experience. I also want to mention two things. First, I've gone to all of the technicians who work here - Breanna, Carrie, Kayla & Ellie...and they're all terrific. I started with Breanna and she introduced me to derma planing. Love the way my skin feels afterwards - Breanna is terrific. A few months ago my work schedule changed, so I had to change technicians. Now I'm seeing Ellie regularly. Ellie found a spot she felt I needed to have looked at by a dermatologist. I followed up with my doctor and it's a good thing I did. If it weren't for her keen eye, it could have been a bad situation. I owe her a big thank you! Secondly, I ran out of a face powder and when I went to purchase it, they didn't have it in stock. Not to worry! The owner, Linda Moore gave me a brand new sample compact at no charge (for the "inconvenience") - SO nice and unexpected! Actually, they're all very nice, friendly and accommodating here. There's also a punch-card system and they're great about making sure you get the discount when it's time for it to be used. I wish I would have read the other reviews prior to coming here so I would have known how disappointed I would be with their Hydrafacial. As mentioned in other reviews, I was stunned when my facial ended after 25 short minutes. Nowhere on their website does is state that the facial is only 30 minutes, and not once did anyone mention that when I called to book. The facial cost $149 ($179 with tip), which is almost the same as what I've spent for a 50-minute Hydrafacial in a premium salon in Los Angeles. This is completely deceiving, misleading, and not worth the high price tag. Serious steps were missing from this normally amazing facial, including exfoliation, extractions, and massage. My neck and chest was never touched, which is very out of the ordinary for a facial. In addition to all of this, the towel wrap around my hair was so low that once the facial was done I realized the whole top of my forehead was untouched. Really disappointed to say the least. The 2 stars for this review are strictly for the esthetician as she couldn't have been sweeter. Hopefully after seeing so many reviews expressing their frustration with this facial I'd hope the owners take notice and make a substantial change. read more
