Came up to Michigan from Northern Indiana to pick apples with kids and grandchildren and checked out Yelp for a good bbq place and found Skinny Kenny's. Because of the number of people that we had, we were able to try a variety of different menu items. Everything was very delicious. They smoke the old fashion way of slow and long with only wood smoke. Service was very courteous and fast. According to my wife it is the best bbq she has ever eaten and she is not really bbq lover. She had the cheesesteak sandwich. Also don't forget to try the skinny beans, they are great. We will probably in the future take the 2 hour drive from home just to return to Skinny Kenny's to dine on some more smoked goodness. read more

Wonderful service. AMAZING food!!! One of my family's new favorites, especially on Tuesday, because of the free kid's meal with purchase of an adult meal. Prices are so reasonable and portions are very generous! Everything I've had here has been perfectly seasoned (tots, Mac & cheese, and nuggets included), and I've never needed any seasoning or sauces because of that! Max & cheese so good and so creamy! The beans are crazy good!! Owner is super nice and often in this location. Games on the shelves for all ages of kids and adults, so you can have fun while you eat. First time visiting I tried the "Treat Yo Self" choices of brisket and pulled chicken, with beans and spicy Mac with fresh jalapeños and bacon. My favorites of that meal was the pulled chicken and spicy Mac. Met the owner who was very nice and who seemed very passionate about cooking. The counter staff where also very attentive and friendly. The interior was very large and clean. I am excited to try more of the sides they offer and other foods next visit. read more

Came here a few times with my nephew and once with my wife and the food was good. My wife and I were trying a few BBQ places in the area for catering an event, wasn't super impressed by anywhere really, and after not going here for over a year just went with Skinny Kenny's. It was a hit! They did an awesome job setting up the food at my event and everyone loved the food. We will be using them again in the future for our catering needs. read more

Skinny Kenny's BBQ is new in town. I asked them for their best and these guys delivered. The food was absolutely delicious. Might be some of the best BBQ I have ever had. Definitely a crown contender in Kalamazoo. I had the "monster bowl" with brisket, slaw, corn bread and spicy Mac n cheese. I would have loved it to be a touch spicier but wow, from the first bite the food melted in my mouth and I really wanted seconds. The brisket, cheesy potatoes, beans and sweet corn bread were very good. Service from the staff was also helpful as we had not eaten here before. The food was great, we have enjoyed for a couple years. Just disappointed that before ordering I looked on Facebook to see if there were any specials and there were not any online. I ordered two pounds of wings online and when I picked up saw they were the special for significantly reduced price. Asked if I could have that price and was told no. Been by many times. Finally stopped in. Pulled pork sandwich was excellent. The pork was flavorful and juicy. Sauce subtle, not too sweet and did not overwhelm the meat. Spicy mac was cheesy and plentiful. I'll be back. read more

Fantastic from beginning to end!!! Nice environment to dine, and the food was superb. Rack of ribs was delicious. Not crispy, but very moist and meaty and smoky. Burnt ends were very good. The brisket was not that great. Dry and cubed. The sides were phenomenal...greens, spicy Mac, corn bread, and cole slaw (good, not outstanding). The spicy bbq sauce was good. Oh my goodness! I wish I lived closer to Kalamazoo to eat more of their food. I visited their food truck at a Kzoo event and had the street tacos with pulled pork. They were outstanding! The perfect amount of spice balance with sweetness from pineapple. I can't remember everything in them but I can remember loving every bite. It came with a side and I went with their recommendation of Skinny Beans (baked beans with bacon and other heavenly goodness). Yum! I believe this place will be frequented more by our family. The restaurant was clean and tidy and the workplace was as well. The owner was present and he was so passionate about what he was doing. The brisket, chicken wings, and pork were what our family had and we couldn't say a negative word about it. All the meats were perfectly done and tasted amazing. I've been hearing about this place for a few months. So we stopped tonight. Not a fan. The chicken didn't taste right. The pulled pork was good if they'd have cut back on the sauce. The Mac and cheese tasted like it came out of a bag. The coleslaw had fruit in it and the greens were terrible,and I love greens. The place was very clean and the staff was friendly. Can't do much better than a 2 star. We will stick with Dickies when the bbq urge hits. read more

This was our first time eating at this establishment, and I must say we were very impressed. Ordered the full rack of ribs, two sides, and two fountain drinks which came out to around $45. We opted for the jalapeño mac and cheese along with the baked beans. Both of which were very good. Beans had great flavor, and the mac and cheese was super spicy which we liked. As far as the ribs go, they were delicious as well. Very well prepared, plenty of smoke flavor with a sweet barbecue sauce that complimented the meat well. For dessert we ordered a brownie on the way out only to realize there were no brownies in the dessert cooler. We took a banana pudding instead and it turned out to be delicious anyways. Service was good, and plenty of seating inside and out. We really liked the entire atmosphere and feel of this place. I highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area. Place sucks. $32.00 for 2 people for lunch. Expensive store front on red arrow. Rib Sandwich sucked bbq chicken sandwich sucked.Little bit of chicken. meat bbq sauce dumped on it. Sucks. Tater tots are cheap sucked. Baked beans. Must have been old. Sucked. Wouldn't go back for a free lunch.large fancy store and store front. Must cost a lot for rent customers will pay for a seat. The food is amazing, just amazing! We've been two times so far. We all tried something different each time nobody was disappointed. I'm planning on returning often for take out. They are Covid responsible, wearing masks, marking the floor for social distancing and they have separate entrance and exit doors to keep the flow moving in one direction.
