We found Skinny Wimp Moving via Groupon when we moved into our house in late 2019. Administratively they were decent and easy to work with when it came to the quote and scheduling. We received our free quote based off of our needs and timing, which came to roughly $100 per hour for 3 movers. Which is a really good price, especially for 3 guys for 3 hours. The price went up to $185/hour if you went above the 3 hour mark, but we were only moving a 2 bedroom apartment into a single story home 4 miles away with 3 movers, so we were confident in the 3 hour time. While the up front part was easy, the day and the actual move was a little more stressful than I like, especially when I am hiring someone. First, they were about 45 minutes behind schedule due to a turn around they made with directions. When they finally arrived, there were 3 able-bodied fellas participating in the move. About half through the load up, one of them decided to take an extended break and left only two remaining to load the truck. Given this odd happening, we started taking loads out ourselves to ensure we stayed on somewhat of a schedule. I mentioned something to the lead mover and he mentioned the fella was gassed from the earlier move and needed a break. Ya know, I am not heartless and would rather him take a break than to injure himself, but there should be an adjustment made to schedule constraints given it was 2.5 movers and not 3. Once we got to the house and got everything unloaded, we had just passed over the 3 hour threshold. They were folding up the blankets and straightening the truck up when I went to settle the bill in full and pass out tips. The lead mover started calculating the additional time, which also included their efforts of blanket folding/truck organizing. This did not sit real well with me, as they could have achieved the move with the promised staff. After a few minutes of back and forth we settled on the agreed upon amount and I was not charged the additional monies for the run over. Overall, they did a decent job with the move and only one item came out slightly damaged, our guest bedroom bedframe was cracked. A little wood glue and we went on with our day without issue. Given the discounted rate on Groupon, I will say we got what we paid for. They did what we needed them to and so for that, I will say I would casually recommend them when possible. read more

***Damaged hard wood floors and refused to fix after telling me the company would send someone*** To preface, I have used SkinnyWimp twice in the last year and recommended their services to many of my friends who have also used them. My first experience was great which is why I decided to use them again, I even asked to use the same Crew members. The date of my 2nd move was 11/21/20-- I was moving out of my parents' house to a new apartment. Items I moved were couch, bedroom set, tv stand, coffee table, fridge, and some other smaller items. As the guys were moving the fridge out of the kitchen, they damaged the surface of my parents hardwood floors in two different places. Frank, my Crew leader ensured me and my dad that SkinnyWimp would send someone to fix the damages (since it wasn't just something he could wipe off) and to call him directly if I didn't hear from them. He included that there were damages to the hardwood floors on the paperwork he filled out. I signed and gave gratuity in good faith that I wouldn't run into any issues getting the floors fixed as it states in the bottom that home and furniture damages are covered. A few days passed and I never heard from SkinnyWimp so I called back directly. The woman I spoke with told me that they don't cover hardwood floor damages. If that's the case, I don't understand why a SkinnyWimp employee told me it was. I asked for a refund on the extra charges I recieved so I could use that money to fix the floors-- she said she could not do that. I asked to speak to management.. I still haven't heard from Brian. My dad asked that I file a claim with the credit card company so I did since Frank told him directly this would be fixed. I then sent a claims form for the damaged hard wood floors (I also had multiple pieces of furniture that were damaged during the move so included pictures and details of that as well). SkinnyWimp finally emailed me after I did this and said they wouldn't look at my claim until I paid the dispute.. I never even heard from management, just this email saying I had to pay the dispute for my claim to be looked at. I called them back to have the tip of $65 removed from the $250 charge on my credit card since the tip was given in faith that the floors would be fixed.. they said they can't do this and would need to talk to the movers but didn't have Frank's number (their own employee). Honestly, moving is stressful enough. I was hoping the damages would be fixed within 2 weeks so we could move on and I could leave a review saying that even though I had damages during the move, the company went above and beyond to make sure everything was resolved in a timely manner. The move was a disaster. Did not take handles off my new $4,000 refrigerator when moving it and dented and scraped them. Did not know how to disconnect the water line and water went everywhere. Left handles for 2nd fridge at old residence. Loaded a hamper basket containing blankets and pillows and it was not unloaded. Took 2 trips instead of one due to fridge issues due to not knowing how to disconnect water line causing bill to be over twice the amount of estimate given. The person who seemed to be in charge WAS RUDE, even though he said he did not want to be, and he used profane language, dropping the F word several times when frustrated. The agreement was to disconnect and move the refrigerators and they did not know how to do this. Would have gone with different movers if I had known. Also, early on, the rude person said they might have to make 2 trips because my couch (normal size, 3 seater) might not fit on the truck. It did, should have only taken 1 trip, but they left the fridge the first time (and the TVs, which were later moved in cars) and this was also when they lost the hamper. They probably should have brought a little larger truck. This was a 1381 sq foot residence and a list of objects to be moved was given when scheduling. I used this company for my move last weekend. Honestly, all was great except for a broken end table that I bought a year ago. I figured I would fill out a claims form and they would replace/reimburse me relatively quickly considering it's a small item and it was completely destroyed (3/4 legs snapped off). However, after emailing my form Tuesday morning, following up via phone Thursday & Friday, I haven't heard anything from their team. I would give them zero stars if I could. We had the worst experience with this moving company. We scheduled a move with them and paid them in full 4 weeks in advance. We followed up with them the week of the move and confirmed that everything was set and they would be there on the specified date and time. They reassured us multiple times that they would. Found this company through Groupon. We were selling our house On July 5th, so we made an appointment for June 30th. We confirmed everything with Sierra via phone and email and they were 2 hours late, which wasn't a huge issue. They came in and went through their paperwork before starting. After that, they started moving. The 3 guys that were there proceeded to damage our house so badly that we had to call our agent to let the buyers know. They didn't have the common courtesy to let us know what happened, but they sure as hell were scrambling to find their damage waiver form that I had to sign! Many thanks going out to the team of Adrian, Q, and Zoe. They worked nonstop and helped move me out of my apartment and into our new home. Our move was especially difficult because of the apartment complex layout, and also having two storage units on the second floor. Adrian had great detail in wrapping all of our big furniture items. Zoe was a machine and kept on going in the heat. Q's strength does not match up to his size, he was easily lifting all the heavy and large items. All in all, they worked hard for the 6 hours. Wrapped all my furniture, took care of my electronics, had a plan on where it needed to be in the truck, and executed it very well. It was early July, so the heat was pounding but they just motored along. Got my stuff where it needed to be without a single problem. With the groupon it was $320 flat (I tipped them of course. We were told we were going to have movers on a Wednesday by 7pm. NOBODY SHOWED UP. In fact our 'supposed' scheduled movers were out in a different state still moving their previous house. We were flexible and allowed them to book us the following Thursday with movers' arrival time of 5pm. NOBODY SHOWED UP. We were on the phone at 9:55 PM Thursday being told it was a mistake for us to have been scheduled. Needless to say the company needs to get their administrative work together. When I scheduled Skinny Wimp till the day of move they communicated and showed up on time, reasonably priced. The day of move issues began, they tried not to move a safe that was originally in the price, said it was too heavy but its a medium size and I have moved it myself within garage. About half way thru loading the furniture they ran out of blankets to cover the remainder 30% of furniture. While moving adjustable bed frame down the stairs they dropped it on wood stairs placing a gouge in the stairs. The head of crew said they would reimburse and I completed a claim form. I have debated to make a review giving them time to make good on the damage but they have not responded to any emails, when phone call is made the office answers and says someone from claims will call you back but never do since June 8th. I would not recommend them for any future needs in moving based on my experience with communication. Since posting the review I was put in contact with the owner of the Cumming franchise with the help of our realtor and he was very understanding of the issues and will take care of my complaints on his end. I was very close to picking another company but I am so glad I didnt. A friend of mind referred Skinny Wimp after seeing them on GroupOn....which to me is sometimes a red flag (not in this case). I purchased 4 hours with 3 men and a truck. I was concerned if buying the GroupOn would cause my move to go over so they could make up the discount/time. From the START, the customer service was GREAT. I easily scheduled my move for the day and time that worked best for me. They called to confirm and we were set to go. Moving Day: ok so they were about 45 mins late BUT if you live in Atlanta, you know the traffic has hit NEW HIGHS in AWFUL!! But the driver, Corey, was quite courteous and sent me a message to let me know they were delayed BEFORE they were scheduled to arrive. So no big deal. When they arrived, each mover introduced themselves (Corey, Dominic and Adrian!!) and took inventory of the items to be moved. Then, they got to WORK right away. My furniture was wrapped and padded. They provided wardrobe boxes for the items in my closets. Next thing you know the truck was loaded and ready to go! Upon arrival at my new residence, everything was unloaded AND put where I wanted. I didnt have to move boxes from one location to another so they could be unpacked. Kitchen boxes were in kitchen. Bedroom boxes in the bedroom. They put my table back together properly and reconnected my washer/dryer! BEST MOVERS EVER!!!!!! A few issues... 1- they dropped an item off the truck and broke it. Driver was cool about it and we marked it on the paperwork as such. I've called the "call center" weekly which relays the message to their local branch. It's been a month and i haven't heard from anyone! 2- there is NO hustle at this company. By far, the slowwwwwest movers I've used. The hours used vs. what i had was ridiculous and double of my previous move 6 months earlier. The BESt experience in a moving company yet! We used a Groupon and really thought it would be like the last company we used, but to our surprise it was a complete difference from the 2 men and a truck! The guys Jonqual, JJ and John were fantastic! They were fast, strong and smiled, sang and went far above and beyond for us! It was pouring rain and they took extra care to keep everything as dry as possible! One if them was sick and had a cold but never complained! We just heard his cough! Everything was handled with care! They even moved furniture when we wanted to try it out in different rooms just to discover it didn't work so they had to move them again! They even smiled when we asked if they would move the huge armoire to the basement! Itbweights a ton and will never be moved again! They asked every hour or so how they were doing , were we pleased? If you are looking for a company that operates with Ethics and Morals - this is NOT the company for you. I recently moved from my 2 bedroom apartment to a three bedroom house. The men who moved my furniture were mostly very great. They worked hard and moved all my stuff with minimal issues. They did cause some damage to my floors and walls in my new place, but nothing that I shouldn't be able to fix. My qualm however, is not with the movers. it is with the front office staff and administrative staff. They are the most unethical, inappropriate staff I've ever had the displeasure of working with. I had originally scheduled my move for 8/3 and due to some scheduling errors I had to change my move to 8/1. When I changed my move day, I was told that my move window started at 8 am. I then received a PDF file from the moving company stating my move window, which again stated 8 AM on 8/1. I was also told that on 7.31 (the day before my move) I would receive a call from the company to reconfirm my move. This call was never made. On 8/1 I never heard from the movers in the morning and as about 8:15 rolled around I called. I was then told "No. Your move window is from 2-7. They will show up sometime in that window." I explained that this was not okay because I had to be moved out of my apartment by 5 pm that day. I also explained that I had confirmed numerous times, via phone and email, that my move was scheduled for 8 am. The lady on the phone told me that there was simply there was nothing she could do that I must have misunderstood the person who booked my move. I forwarded her the paperwork I received that said 8 am. I received no other feedback or communications from the front office until after my move when I had told them I would not accept extra charges due to their lack of communication and professionalism. Through email, I was told multiple times this was my fault, ranging from "if there was an error on your paperwork you should have alerted us (how was I supposed to know it was an error, when it was confirmed 3 different times?), if you couldn't do that move time you never should have booked it (8 am was the move time I booked and I could do that time.), and that if my financial situation didn't allow for me to pay them, I never should have booked them. First of all, it is absolutely NONE of their business what my financial situation is/was. Also, this had nothing to do with that. It had everything to do with the company not acting professional, and not accepting responsibility for what they did. I was later told they would split the final bill in half with me and after more rude comments I asked to know who I was speaking to, since there was no signature on the email. They proceeded to cease communication with me and not tell me who I was speaking with. Instead they sent me an email telling me they would not be proceeding with legal action against me for "services rendered and unpaid." I attempted several times to call the company so I could speak with a manager and was told multiple times that "no one was in the office." I emailed them back multiple times as well asking for them to please call me so I can talk to a manager. Today 8/6 I called back again and was once again told that there was not a manager that I could speak with, but they could just run my card for the amount due. When they couldn't run my card, because I have a block on their company, I received more pushback from them. I asked who the manager was, and the person on the phone would not give me a name. I finally got a Mr Lucas out of her. To which I responded I need his full name. Misty, the person on the phone, sat in silence until I reiterated I need the full name of the manager. They also will not accept a check apparently, which means they will have full access to my bank card and can re charge me anytime they want. This company operates extremely unprofessional. They are unethical. They are rude. And they apparently have zero managerial business sense. Whoever is running the office in Atlanta needs to learn how to properly run a business. Also, don't blame your customers if you can't pay the people you hire. That is your responsibility. I know, due to the line of work that I'm in, that you do not hire a subcontractor without knowing you can pay them 100% no matter what. So do not blame that on your customers, that is just down right wrong. I would really love to report this office to their corporate HQ, but just as its impossible to get information on Mr Lucas over in ATL, its impossible to find any information about their corporate office. I had a GREAT move. I had 4 guys and one 26 ft truck. I moved from Lawrenceville to Winder with 4 bedrooms worth of furniture and a basement. When I booked the appointment i was asked to have moving boxes for my televisions or try to move them in my car to lower the risk of breakage. My team was Corey, Felipe, Jeremy & Zack. They were fast and really took care of business and did little extra items that I don't think most movers would have done. My bed wouldn't fit through any door, Corey went to the truck got his tool kit and unscrewed the bed rails and moved it into the room them but the bed back together again. Is zero stars an option? I've moved 4x's in the past few years and I've used multiple moving services but I have to say this was the WORST moving experience I've ever had. They showed up with a third mover (I only requested two) which I thought would be a bonus but the third guy was a liability, not an asset. He was actually mainly responsible for the damages that occurred. My newest, most cherished piece of furniture was completely destroyed due to negligence (they put the straps on so tight it split my beautiful new wardrobe in half!! - it collapsed on itself as soon as they got it inside). Also, I noticed upon further inspection that these movers also ruined several other items without mentioning anything to me, I couldn't even see the damages until I unpacked... Also, I found out they only cover up to $300 max (it was a $500 piece) so when I filed the claim, I was shocked. IT HAS BEEN NEARLY 4 MONTHS AND I CAN'T GET A RESPONSE OR ANYONE ON THE PHONE REGARDING MY CLAIM... DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! I've never felt so strongly about any negative review. We got two movers for four hours to dismantle and move the furniture in our apartment. Andy was incredibly hard working, diligent, and dedicated. He was strong and bright/experienced. I am not happy with this company. I filed a claim for items they have broken only to be met with nothing. I have called and emailed to follow up. Everyone said they will get back to me. I started out having a great experience. The people I spoke with were great and very helpful. The movers arrived on time and were very efficient. It went south once two pieces of furniture were broken. The first one was my dresser and it was completely ruined. I'm pretty sure the mover wouldn't have said something had I not walked in and saw the condition it was in. The second item was my filing cabinet. The movers didn't say anything about it. I saw it was broken after the fact. On top of all this, I filed a claim and have still not heard back. This was five months ago. Every time I call I'm told the claim is still being reviewed and that there's no actual number for the claim department. You can only contact them via email. I had such a great experience with Skinny Wimp. I don't live in Atlanta and had to set everything up completely remotely, and it was no problem. I paid for two hours in advance, and the men worked hard to get the move done in under 2 hours so I wouldn't have to be charged way more for any last minute, tacked-on time. I was not there personally, but the individual who was supervising the move on my behalf reported that the workers were extremely efficient and worked hard. They took care of the furniture by wrapping it well before moving. Communication before the move was phenomenal, as I received a written confirmation from the company after booking, an immediate email back when I had a question about the contract, and a phone call both the day before and morning of the move to confirm. Very pleased. Will be using this company again in the future! read more

BEWARE!! DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY!! This was the move from HELL! My husband and I purchased a brand new home Friday (6/29) and we sat and watched three Skinny Wimp movers tear it up in 2 hrs! I paid $574 3 (Carl P, Josh, and Juwan) movers and a truck to destroy my home! The grand total was about $1400 after the extra hours they used playing around with my furniture. The driver noted on the paperwork for the company not to charge me for $780 of the cost because he knew that had caused so much damage! These movers had nor have no experience in moving, they scraped up my stairs and the rails. They placed items on the walls from the beds while moving us so the weight from the items caused indentations in the wall! One of them had a new tattoo and his (red) ink is all over my walls from brushing up against the walls. There are also wet (dark) marks up my steps from him sweating and rubbing up against the walls. They did not use the blankets to bring my washer and dryers in (like the driver Carl P.) told them to so they when they dropped the washers, they ripped the flooring in my laundry room. These guys dropped my leather sectional so it is scrapped really bad on the side, and they ripped out the metal bar to connect the armrest to the other parts of the sectional. They knocked the legs of my sectional on the front door entryway so it not only are my legs damaged my front door looks as if someone hit it with a brick! My own bed is broken; the drawers will not go back on and there are multiply pieces(rails) not attached. My daughter's bunk bed with storage is not properly put together or secure so she has to sleep with a sibling due to 15 screws or so still on the floor. My XL Dogs kennel is damaged and bent from being thrown or smashed on the truck. Our washing machine and dryer is scratched/ scrapped up from obvious marks of scrapping against something else plus they have footprints on top of it!! Not to mention they arrived at my home at 5pm to move me from a three bedroom townhouse to a five bedroom home 47 minutes away so the move went into the wee hours of the night, so by 3:30 am I was kicking them out of my home! One of the movers Juwan walked out and went to sit in the truck, and 20 minutes later the other young man Josh walked out to talk on the phone and have a smoke break in the middle of the street, leaving the driver inside to try to complete the move alone.I am beyond pissed and I would hate for your moving experience to be like my families was! I still waiting on Bryan (branch manager) or Samantha from the Atlanta office to give me a call! read more

Issues from start to finish. They lag on time to raise the price on you and the owners do not respond or respond and do not follow up (bury their heads in the sand hoping you will go away and eat the loss. I'm not.) despite numerous attempts. They sure as hell call back fast to give that quote though. I have called my credit card company to stop payment. Most unprofessional organization I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. read more
