I had the best time here! We went to check out furniture at RC Willeys and then to dinner. What was kind of stressful day turned into a really nice date night. I had a really yummy vodka tea, garlic bread and pizza. The pizza was so yummy, it had lots of toppings and crispy crust, just how I like it. Service was very nice and timely. They have nice high up booths, a really nice bar, a nice outside play area for kids, outside seating, and a little dessert shop within the pizza place. You want it they got it. I'll definitely pop in here again whether it be for dinner, dessert, or just drinks. Perfect for date night, family dinners, work events, etc.. I definitely recommend this place!! read more

We got the Prego pizza, a kids pepperoni and Skips dip as an appetizer. Skip's dip was super good. It's a giant loaf of bread with oil and garlic to dip it in. Delicious. The kids pizza was cool because they bring the ingredients to the table for your child to decorate the pizza themselves and then they take it to cook it. We decided to try Skipolini's because it offers a full bar and a little play area for the kiddos on the patio. The play area could use a little love and some cleaning. We weren't the only parents with a good idea of a bite to eat, a drink, and some play area for the kids. While the restaurant was mostly empty, the patio where the kids' area was, was packed... My daughter had fun in the play area and we had a quick bite to eat for lunch. The kids' meals were enormous, next time it'll be worth it to share with her instead of getting her one all to herself. The food was passable, it wasn't the best Italian I'd ever had, but the full bar and kid's play area pushes the star-rating up to a 4, we will be back. read more

This place is a local JEM!!! We like to visit a wide variety of restaurants, so it says a lot that we eat here at least once (if not more) a week. The service is friendly and cheerful (ask for Amber, she's the best server ever), the prices are great, the menu is diverse, the food never disappoints, the bar has a great selection of wine, beer (on tap) and spirits, and the staff are always willing to go above and beyond to make your experience enjoyable. The bar is GREAT with bar seating as well as high top and booth (yes, the important games are on. There are 3 screens). If you're looking to host a large event, there's a side room that can seat easily 30 people - probably more. The outside patio has a kids play place as well as cozy couches and a fireplace. I ordered through DoorDash to have my Lunch/Dinner delivered. I ordered the Spaghetti Marinara with a side of meatballs and Bolognese sauce. I ordered the extra Bolognese because I didn't see a way to order the spaghetti with a meat sauce on my cell phone. I received all that I ordered in a very timely manner. However the Marinara was not very substantial in density or volume. I went to add the Bolognese sauce to it only to find that it was a VERY THIN CREAMY looking Bolognese. I do realize that Bolognese has milk in the traditional recipes but I also know that it is never enough to make the sauce look orange like there's a ton of cream in it. Another thing about Bolognese sauce is that it is a very hearty meat filled sauce that requires some time for it to reduce to an appropriate density. The one from Skipolini's was so thin that at first I thought they made a mistake and gave me someone's soup order. The meat was not very substantial either and was accompanied with a lot of tomatoe chunks. I may try the restaurant again but will go into one of their locations so that I can see better what I am ordering and getting and so that I have a wait staff person there to make any necessary changes. read more

After shopping in the area we stopped by this restaurant to get some dinner. The hostess was nice and sat us at a table but that was all the service we received. The restaurant was not busy at all and there was a handful of servers working but after waiting 15mins we never got water, no one offered us a drink, and the worst part is servers were walking by during that whole 15min time period and never bothered to check on us. So we got up and left with an empty table and stomach. This was an EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING experience and it was a complete waste of time. Please be very cautious of this restaurant. read more

The food at Skipolini's is good but the service is awful. My husband and I went there a couple of weeks ago, and our waitress Kara was constantly disappearing. It turns out that she was also the bar tender. She seemed to pay more attention to the bar then to her customers in the restaurant. She was very inattentive and slow to wait on us. My husband ordered a beer which didn't come until we were finished eating. Today we went back and the first thing I said to my husband is "I hope we don't get the same waitress that we had the last time we were here". Well, guess what, we were seated in Kara's section once again and this time the experience was worse and pretty pathetic. She gave us our ice tea's, and then disappeared back to the bar. She never came back to take our order. We had to flag another waitress to take our order. I really don't think the second waitress put our order in since my husband ordered a dinner salad, and it never came, until we flagged down a third waitress who said she would check on the order. I watched her go to Kara (I suppose to check on our order which Kara never took) and suddenly, the salad showed up. This was about 45 minutes after we were seated. The place had very few customers. The main point of this review is that Kara should either be a bar tender or a waitress or be fired. She ignored us the entire time until it was time to drop the check off. I dont like writing less than 5 star reviews however my wife and I came to get her the prego pizza and the service here was sub par. I ended up having to call the store just for someone to come and seat us, by the time I called another couple was waiting as well to be seated in the restuarant. We had even come at a time that was before the dinner rush and it was not busy at all. I will say my wife did enjoy her pizza but the burger was nothing special. From start to finish the experience and the service was not good. The best thing was the jolly ranchers that we had to stock up on because our wait time in a less than busy restaurant was terrible. read more

We tried the Rocklin location for lunch last week. Great parking, both indoor and outdoor seating coupled with a comfortable atmosphere. Service was fine and my wife was happy because they offer Rombauer Chardonnay by the glass. Cabernet options were limited and not as tempting. We ate on the lighter side. I highly recommend the Italian Wedding Soup. Traditional tiny meatballs, pasta beads and delicious broth (a single bowl was not enough). I also ordered the caprese salad and my lady tried their Caesar. Both were good and the portions this time were generous. We will come back to this restaurant for dinner. Their shrimp scampi zoodles are DISGUSTING!!!! I have never thrown out a meal but it was so inedible I had to throw the $18 away. Very disappointed. A caprese salad should not have sub-par cuts of tomatoes and old dried up basil strips. That's why we pay top money for a good one. Loooong wait for entrees. The lasagne was not a layered cheese and sauce dish, but a tossed together lasagne noodles with bolognese sauce and a slice of cheese on top. Hubby had bolognese. Tasted the same as mine, but mine cost $6-8 more for the slice of cheese. Then, no soup, salad, or bread beforehand. Flavor was good, but $48 total? Nothing to be excited about. It has been better. The food was ok, we had a salad and a pepperoni pizza. The salad was small, and was not dressed well. It came with chicken and including the greens, it was warm. The pizza was fine. The crust was bland but the pepperoni was good. My biggest issue was the cost. A pizza, salad, one drink, and tip the cost was about $48. That's entirely too expensive for the food. Service was good, and the people were personable and fast. I've been here plenty of times but let me just say I'm always surprised with the consistency every single time. I am a huge fan of their bruschetta and Skip's dip which almost reminds me of Italy. Not so much on the Italian side but the Cajun pasta they have is to die for! One of my favorite places to eat!! Don't get me started on the service every time I've come in I have bEen treated so well by the hostesses and hosts and have had phenomenal service from all waiters. My husband and I came here for the prego pizza since I'm about due, and my pregnancy is very uncomfortable. The pizza was delicious and very meaty, just the way I like it. I knocked out one star, because the pizza didn't work. I gorged the entire small pizza to myself. Although I knew it was too good to be true, so many people, including the success stories made it sound very promising. Oh well, at least we tried it, and good thing it was delicious. I've been here a few times experiencing fabulous food & great atmosphere. Our latest was for a school function & I ordered it to go. Wow I was blown away how efficiently they kept food cold and everything heated perfectly. They review everything with you, not rushed. The menu is full of delicious foods for everyone in the family. Had the BBQ pizza, which was FANTASTIC!!! Wife got the fettuccine with chicken, it wasn't that good... BUT, the dessert!!!! Oh the dessert, was phenomenal!!!!! We had the black out dark chocolate cake with strawberry gelato, OMFG, incredible..lol.. She had the cookie Sunday with mocha almond fudge gelato, which was just as good! After trying Skipolini's for the first time, I have to say I was quite pleased and look forward to trying it again sometime. It was middle of the evening on a Saturday night so the 20 minute or so wait was to be expected, but didn't seem bad at all. As soon as you walk in the door the smell just hits you and leaves you feeling like you're in for something good. Because it was so highly touted by other reviews on Yelp, the restaurant menu itself and buzz I heard from surrounding tables, I felt sure I had to try the Skip's Dip (pizza crust and balsamic dip). It was a nice appetizer, but did not live up to all of the aforementioned hype. Making me even more skeptical is the fact that when the manager brought it out he explained that we were in for an extra special treat because they normally use dough from the day before and on this night they had run out and we were getting the first of a brand new batch. If what I had was a "treat", I am not sure about the product I might of received on a typical occasion. One other note on the Skip's Dip, it is a very large serving and could easily serve 4 -6 people as an appetizer and it seemed very reasonably priced in the $5 - $6 range. On to the pizza as that is what I really imagine Skipolini's being about. The pizza was definitely worth the price of admission. I had the creamy pesto because it looked and sounded really good on the menu and because it was a unique choice that you won't see just anywhere. It was a great pizza with great flavor to it and was very enjoyable. This said, the next time I visit, I think I will probably give the stand by of pepperoni a shot because I saw a couple of them a tables around me it looked especially good. I liked the fact that you could see an almost solid layer of crisp pepperoni across the entire top of the pizza. The other nice thing about Skipolini's is they have a great patio on the side that looks like it will be perfect for a nice spring or summer evening. Background: Apparently this place just opened up in the Rocklin area, but has 4 other locations in the East Bay. It's a family owned business and this location is the only one that serves pasta. Menu: Traditional Italian (pastas, pizzas, etc.) Setting: Rustic italian decor, dim lighting, family friendly and date friendly atmosphere. After my sister, cousin in-law, and I worked up a small appetite from shopping at the mall, my cousin in-law suggested we grab dinner here because they had really good pizza and garlic bread. I'm always up for good food and this place sparked my interest so we went. Right when we walked through the door, we were greeted immediately with a warm smile by our hostess. She took down our name and told us it would be an about 10 min wait. Not a problem because we walked over to a check out the desserts in a little section called, "Dolce Bene" (I think!). Not only did they serve gelato (yummy!) but there was also an assortment of other desserts such as pumpkin cheese cake and big chocolate chip brownies. Once we stopped drooling over the desserts, we made our way back to the main waiting area to find that our booth was ready. Korey, our server, was on point making sure to bring us our waters while we looked over the menu. He suggested the garlic bread to start because it was the house favorite so we decided to start off with that. The three of us also decided to share a medium sized pizza 2 topping pizza. The cool thing about ordering our pizza is the three of us were each able to pick the toppings we wanted. The end result? 1/3 pineapple and pepperoni, 1/3 chicken and olive with white sauce, and 1/3 chicken with sun dried tomato with pesto. 3 women with 3 different pizza preferences who were satisfied in one sitting? Sounds like a WIN to me. Added bonus? The owner came to check on us during dinner to make sure we were satisfied with our meals. COME HUNGRY!! You won't be disappointed! read more
