The Oberweis folks bundle That Burger Joint in with a pizza joint. You'd think this would be a comfort-food mecca. Think again. I had a burger and Wife had a pizza. Both were distinctly...meh. Had the truffle-parmesan fries, those were ok. Just ok. The dine-in area wasn't a paragon of cleanliness, and there was some erroneous stuff piled in the corner. They couldn't put that stuff away? The service at the counter was dull and it seemed like the person wanted to be anywhere but there. And good luck trying to find ketchup for your fries. The only bright spot was you could get whole milk at the soft drink station, which surprised me, 'cos I once went through the drive-in window at Oberweis and asked for a glass of milk. (For those not of Suburban Chicago-Oberweis is perhaps the last of the "old-time Dairies") The kid at the window looked at me like I just ordered a magnum of 1945 Lafitte-Rothschild. We ordered some burgers , kids meal burger, fries, chicken tenders, spicy chicken sandwich, salad. For birthday lunch. The grilled chciken sandwich and the tenders are so tough & doesn't taste good!!! We ended up throwing them . Same thing with the fries. The place is convenient to us since it's very close ( that's the 1 star), but that's it. They even forgot to include the fountain drink in the kids meal. Very disappointing! read more

This location has excellent staff, incredible food, and follows all COVID-19 guidelines to a tee. The bacon cheeseburger was phenomenal! Right amount of every flavor in each bite. And they have a wide variety of soft drinks to pick from including their chocolate milk! The one staff member who stood out was Steve. He noticed our fries came out with not as many in our basket as they normally do, so he went and grabbed us a brand new fresh batch without us even having to ask. All of the staff is so friendly and helpful with recommending the different menu items you may like personally. Absolutely beautiful location, with an outdoor play area for the kids. read more

Went in with only one other person ahead of me. The one person started asking questions about some discount for school. Employee couldn't answer it, so she called for assistant manager. Asst comes up and says he has to wait for confirmation from general manager. 6 minutes in, I place an online order. Says it will be ready in 15 minutes. Few minutes later they finish with the customer ahead of me. Ask me my order. I just ordered a drink as my pizza was supposed to be done in 15 minutes. 23 minutes later pizza still not done. People coming in after me are getting their orders. I go up front to ask for a refund. Assistant starts going in telling me about how there are only 4 of them working and what not. Actually he's unloading on me and taking out his frustration on me. Meanwhile general manager Mike is in the kitchen slamming oven doors , the door to the kitchen and touching his ear piece constantly while making food with the same gloves. Very uncomfortable situation. I just wanted my money back at that point and I had to hear a whole speech on how they are short handed and this assistant's frustrations. I could go on about my issues too as I work 12 hours a day and now have no lunch for the whole day thanks to the incompetence. Instead of apologizing I got a speech. Ridiculous. I was coming here the last two weeks 4 times a week as it's close to my job but NEVER again. I had given this place 4 stars in the past on Yelp but this same review will be posted there too. This was our first time eating at (well, not 'at' as we ate it at home) That Burger Joint and must say we were very pleased! I got the Patty Melt and it was delicious. Right amount of grilled onion, Swiss cheese and WONDERFUL angus beef burgers, done to perfection. Might be one of the best Patty Melt's I've ever had. The wife got the Mushroom Swiss burger and she said it too was one of the best. Ordered a small and large fries, ample amounts of fries. Fresh potatoes made these fries very very good! Only drawback is that the drive-thru is only for ice cream orders, they don't take pizza and sandwich orders so you must go inside to place your orders for those but a very friendly staff will bring your food out to your car. I believe/hope sometime soon they will change the drive-thru so you can order food as well. Will definitely be returning to TBJ!!! read more

After a long day at work I was DYING for a bite to eat so on the way home I pulled into the drivethru to receive friendly service with a short wait time for freshly cooked food. I ordered the chicken tenders and my boyfriend got the chipotle Jack sandwich, and we are sad to say it LITERALLY left a bad taste in our mouths :( the chicken was very over cooked, hard to chew, and a small portion for the price we paid. I went to Burger Joint with my friends and we really enjoyed the place! The Burger Joint is an amazing spot! The whole place is organized, clean, decent, and huge. They really maintained the place beautiful and bright. Their counter is wide and nice. You can clearly see their selection and the whole menu. They can manage to keep the lines straight and move fast. Everyone here is doing their job properly and treats their customers so well. Wonderful customer service! This place is definitely highly recommended! Their burgers here are really good, meaty, tasty, fresh, and very delicious. We ordered their burgers and fries. Everything here is really great and perfectly made. They also have other types of sandwiches and cool beverages. Very affordable and reasonable prices of food. You can buy anything you want here without breaking your pockets. All of the food is really worth the price! Their menu can really solve and satisfy your cravings. Sensational! The Burger Joint is definitely a gem in this area of Geneva. We are pleasantly surprised by how great this place is and its menu as well. Been here twice now. Huge fan. Burger and cheese fry was amazing and everyone else liked their food as well. We had an error on our burger and they addressed it immediately AND bought us ice cream. Staff is hard working and very attentive. They have a good system. Only small complaint is a table can be hard to get because many are blocked off due to covid. This is our new fav place. read more

First time trying That Burger Joint and surely our last. Pulled up to the drive thru on a Sunday midday, they said they had equipment problems and could only do chicken and fries. We ordered a 4 piece tender and loaded fries. It was almost $11 I believe. We got the food, my daughter opened the tenders and pulled one out and there was a hair on it. I take that back, there was a hair all through it, like in the breading and hanging out. Super obviously thank god. I'm not sure how hair makes it through a deep fryer but apparently it does. We went immediately back and showed him and he went "gross", we will go make you another one. I said thanks but we're not eating this food, so please give me the money back. He says ok I took the tenders off of your bill. I had to ask him to take the fries off too, but I'm not eating anything from a place that has that poor sanitation that this can happen. Nope.
