I was presented with several options, which included laser gum treatment with a filler of bone graft. After weighing pros and cons, I opted for extraction of the molar with an eventual implant. The decision to extract and implant was in my view, solving the problem for life....if there such a thing. Pre op and post op I was treated with care and concern. Dr Taylor is personable as is his wonderful staff. Every effort was put forth to make me comfortable and at ease. The extraction went great, I healed beautifully, and I didn't need the medication for pain relief, although I may be in the minority. After several months, it was time for the implant. This time I went in with even more ease knowing I was in good hands recalling how smoothly the extraction went. I was shown the implant, the procedure was explained, and I asked questions which may have sounded a bit silly, but they were answered with concern and respect. Following both procedures, the office made a phone call to my home that evening to ask how I was doing. I was happy to report that all was well and that after a few hours of rest I was up and about with my regular routine. The literature and post op instructions were easy to understand and follow. If there is such a thing.........I had a great experience undergoing an unpleasant procedure! I would recommend Dr Ryan Taylor and his staff to anyone without hesitation!

Recently he recommended a root canal, bemoaning the fact that I hadn't come in for my regular cleaning 6 months earlier; clearly he believed that he could have prevented the root canal. That I had a knee replacement then didn't matter because Dr. Carbone focused on the dentistry; he was even sorrier about the root canal than I. He studied the X-ray in depth before making his recommendation. Jeff W.'s recommendation is exactly right. Dr. Carbone is as good as it gets.

Dr. Scott had her own practice in Port Charlotte but sold it and was about to retire when Dr. Kaufman asked if she might help out once or twice a week. If you should get Dr. Scott do not worry. I just had a local for the procedure and once my mouth was numb, Dr. Scott extracted the cracked tooth in under a minute and then completed a suture and I was ready to go. Of course, I was placed on an antibiotic as Dr. Scott determined I had a slight infection. It has been five days and the gum area has healed up and I feel fine. Should you find you too have Dr. Scott. don't worry as you are in good hands. Plus Dr. Scott is very personable and has a good sense of humor.

Although it wasn't yet three years old I guess they don't expect dentures to last more than three years. It would cost me anywhere from $900 to $1700. 00. I also had the top two teeth separate from the base. The office told me it would coat $175. Per tooth plus the cost of the visit. I would expect the dental practice would stand by the patient and make the lab accountable. And no, I was told, I cannot see Dr. Dorciak. I can come to the office for a fitting. I refuse to give Dr. Dorciak's practice another penny and many more months of my time to have the bridge repaired. I went to another practice. Within two weeks and two trips my bottom bridge was made. They fit perfectly. I went one time had the impression taken and one time to pick the bridge up. Biological systems are complex, and unpredictable, but you'll get an honest evaluation recommendation from him. One recent tooth, he told me, you've waited too long; this will likely need an implant. On a previous event, he'd placed a temporary crown, after his work, counseling me to go and get the permanent crown. I didn't; and six months later bit down on a nut and cracked crown and tooth. That's entirely my fault; temporary crowns are... temporary. But he was honest and forthcoming through the whole event. One of my early visits to him, now several years ago, pain was so bad in the middle of the night (and why is it always on a weekend), he saw me in his office on a normally closed Sunday. I trust this doctor with my health like I trust few others.
