The food was great! I had the flounder basket with fries and okra. The ambiance was very casual. Not busy on the inside, but the seemed to have several to go order pick ups while I was waiting. The service was good as well. I'll try the tacos next time.

The shrimp was cooked very well as well as the fries. The employee that helped us was very nice and helpful. Our food was also out pretty quickly. I also enjoyed the option to get sweet potato fries. Definitely check this place out!

The seafood is consistently good. The problem is that certain meals are not always in stock and the teens and young people they hire are not friendly, rush you to order, or make alot of mistakes on your order. Today I wanted to go for a crab meat and skrimp po boy but they didn't have any crab meat in stock. So I changed my meal to my regular thing I always get which is the skrimp basket with collards but today they didn't have collards. Sigh.... that was it for me so I gave up and had lunch elsewhere. Its a gamble...one day they have what you want, the next day they don't and it annoys me because I want what I want when I have a taste for it.

I ordered the $11 SKRIMP & CRABMEAT po'boy w/ the spicy sauce. It was delicious! A good amount of shrimp for the sandwich and the sauce was sweet with a little zest for a kick. The total came to ~$13 after taxes. For that price I wish they had added chip or fries and a drink. $13 for a 6" sandwich and nothing else is kinda pricey in my book. Overall, it was good! I would come again and try something new...

My first time here I ordered the whiting shack pack came with 3 large whiting fillets, 4 fried shrimp, 3 hush puppies, fries and 16oz drink it was delicious the food was nice and hot I love the ambience the music was jamming nice and clean restaurant. I will definitely be back!

This was one of those meals where I kept thinking, "Okay, surely everything can't be this good." But apparently it can. I started with the seasonal watermelon margarita, and my only complaint is that I didn't order two. It was refreshing, flavorful, and the perfect way to start the meal. Next came the oyster flight. We went ahead and ordered a dozen, and they were another hit. Fresh, delicious, and definitely something I'd order again. My one tiny request: give me some Tabasco with my oysters instead of regular hot sauce and we are officially in business! For my entrée, I ordered the steamed seafood platter, and when I tell you I ate the ENTIRE platter...I mean there was nothing left to discuss. It came loaded with oysters, clams, mussels, shrimp, and crab legs, along with cocktail sauce and hot drawn butter. Everything was cooked beautifully, and that drawn butter made it straight-up finger-licking good. And then there were the catfish and grits. Listen. I don't know whose Big Momma is back there making those grits, but please tell her I said thank you. Creamy, flavorful, comforting--those are the kind of grits that make you stop talking for a minute because you need to concentrate on what just happened. I would order them every single time. The portions were generous, the prices felt very fair for the amount and quality of seafood we received, and overall the meal exceeded my expectations. Fuller's Raw Bar officially earned a spot on my Hampton rotation. Great seafood, generous portions, fair prices, and Big Momma-level grits? Say less. I think I just found my new go-to seafood spot.

Whether it's with friends or just the two of us, we've never been disappointed. Let's see how this visit went. We were immediately seated once we walked inside. It wasn't completely packed for a Saturday afternoon but staff was really busy with customers. The vibe was one that made us comfortable for the most part. After a few minutes of looking over the menu, we were ready to order. My selection was the Tavern Monte Cristo which consisted of chargrilled chicken and ham as the protein with Gouda cheese and cider aioli fried in a tempura batter with tavern fries. The meal was served hot and ready and tasted great. And having the cranberry coulis as a dipping sauce really added some taste. My only gripe with the sandwich was the amount of protein. I'm not sure if I ate most of it when we dined in, but when I ate the rest for dinner, it was more breading than anything else. Still good but they could've included more. Nonetheless, I was full. Good stuff as always from Park Lane Tavern :)

It has been nearly three weeks; I can stop thinking about No Frill Bar and Grill…read more I'm a military spouse, so I know my time in Hampton Roads is coming to an end soon. I visited a Hampton Roads Restaurant group on FB and asked if someone was visiting from out of town: What is your go-to place to take them? Out of 90+ comments, No Frill Bar and Grill was mentioned the most - six times! So when I finally had a day off and some other business to tend to in Norfolk, it was the perfect excuse to finally try them. No Frill Bar and Grill has been open for nearly 30 years by Jerry Meltsner. Jerry's nephew Jon Kliner helps co-own and manage operations. It originally opened on Tidewater Drive, but the space didn't allow for much growth - 10 years later, he moved to a location off Colley Avenue and Spotswood Avenue. Growth continued, moving from counter service to table service. The second location, at 1620 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach, opened in 2005. The restaurant's longevity stems from quality, consistency, price, service, and staff who genuinely care about the business and serving the community. I asked the server for her opinion on two options - Salmon, Shrimp and grits won. The dish was incredible: lightly blackened salmon, for once blackened food that doesn't just taste like salt. I don't dine with the swine, so I asked for no andouille sausage. The sautéed shrimp, caramelized onions, tomatoes, and spinach simmered in Norfolk Canyon ale sauce over cheesy grits and Boursin lavash cracker. The cheesy grits were smooth, and the Boursin lavash cracker was a nice touch. The Boursin added extra creaminess to the meal. The cracker wasn't really a cracker - more like little toasted bread. After this first meal, I know two things for sure: 1. I definitely understand why it is such a local favorite, and 2. I will be back.
