I hired Sky home builders for the remodel of my kitchen this summer. Geri and his team went out of their way to help me find the best materials and get a good price. From the outset they were the most professional of all contractors that I contacted responding quickly and providing a 3D visualization with the estimate. The team were courteous, arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves. They were responsive to my requests and worked around my schedule. I would highly recommend Sky home builders for your next remodel.

Johnny, Linda and the team deserve five star rating. I am glad I chose Sky Home builders for my home remodeling project which included taking out a wall to open up kitchen, bathrooms, fireplace and Kitchen remodeling. Linda was on top of working with the city on permitting. She is very responsive. Johnny explained every step of the process, completed the work on time. He was patient to take us around on weekends to show different showrooms and helped us to make a informed decision. Their price quotation was corresponding to the quality of work. Johnny also recommended right design, material selection, layout etc which was very helpful. We would definitely use Skyhome Builders for future projects.

We had a very good experience working with Johnny and his team that worked on our bathroom remodel project. Johnny was very helpful and provided lot of options and suggestions regarding how to remodel the bathrooms. The result is a wonderful master bathroom, a new half bathroom and the guest bathroom with good space utilization. Johnny guided us well when he thought our choices weren't good. The remodel project was completed almost on time. Johnny's team had to come back to rectify a few things and did a good job with those. The team was very mindful of the dirt and dust produced during the project - they did a good job of cleaning up everyday. Johnny took care of getting the necessary permits and scheduling the inspections. We went with our choice of stores to purchase the materials though Johnny's team provided few referrals. Johnny also helped us get discounts on items purchased on Wayfair. Johnny and team can improve on planning/scheduling to ensure the job progresses without delays.

Bathtub to walk in shower convert with glass door

After speaking with 9 different general contractors, I chose to do my San Francisco condo renovation project with Sky home builders. Reason: good market reputation, reasonable quotes and earliest to start and finish dates. The renovation included full kitchen (cabinets, sink, faucets, gas range, microwave, exhaust, backsplash), full bathroom (flooring, vanity, backsplash, toilet, tub to walk-in shower, shower backsplash) a new closet in the living area, flooring and full paint update including building and city permits. I'd highly recommend to work directly with Johnny Ohana who leads the contractor teams. Always ask for his main man Benito who can deal with any kind of construction and installation without any problems. What I liked about Sky home builders: - Responsive customer service and attention to detail - Friendly response to last minute changes - Worked even on weekends to finish project in time - Extended installation/small fixes post project completion - Easy payment options

Shower floor

We locked them out a year ago and we are still having to deal with the repercussions. 1) They installed the recessed lighting blind and in doing so cut into the I-joist, the beam that supports our upstairs neighbor´s floor. The repair they did was inadequate, they never got permits to make the fix, and drywalled over the problem. We had to get a structural engineer draw up plans for a fix, open up the ceiling again, and have the city inspector approve the fix. 2) We asked them to fix a leak in our shower. They said we needed a new shower. They did not get permits for the shower until we found problems with the work and had our neighbor who is a licensed tile installer look at the work. Not only was the work far below industry standards, but they never got any inspections. That shower had to be torn out and they started building a new one. 3) After we found out that the I-beam was not properly fixed we decided we should make sure the work on the shower really was appropriate. They recommended replacing the shower to fix a leak. However, they failed to check for moisture in the affected area. Turns out they put the shower on top of a moist wall. Another contractor had to remove the shower Sky Home Builders installed along with the surrounding drywall, floor, and vanity. 4) When we asked for an invoice they included a new bill for work they had said they were doing pro bono to make up for the difficulties with the project. They said they would discount all the work in the new bill if we didn´t post negative reviews. 5) Despite all of this they demanded the balance of the contract price and even put a lien on our home after the statutory limit and for work they didn´t do. They stated that they had demolished a balcony and steps and installed new ones. Our home doesn´t have a balcony or steps. We can only assume it was an old lien that they didn´t bother to completely edit. We are still working with the Contractors State License Board to resolve this situation and it is likely to be months before this is resolved.

There have been multiple unresolved issues with the quality of work and follow-through. One example is an LED light that continues to flicker. It has been more than six months, with many calls and text messages, but the issue still has not been fixed. Another example is damage to our garage cabinet, where a hole was created during the work. We are still waiting for this to be repaired as well. Overall, the lack of timely resolution and poor communication after the project has been extremely frustrating.

Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

Eden's calm, assuring presence and regular check-ins onsite gave us comfort in navigating a complex job which included the removal of several walls, structural updates, 3 new bathrooms and a kitchen, re-plumbing, re-wiring and the conversion of a kitchenette into an extra bedroom. IB's service included a 3D designer who visualized our home and helped us choose finishes in-person. The final product is practically identical to the renders that were produced. Eden's construction team, led by Mike Aguilar, worked tirelessly and from the first day of demo to final tiling, they showed care and professionalism keeping the job site tidy and always being respectful to neighbors. As a designer, I am very particular about process and finish and IB did not disappoint me. I would recommend IB and Eden without hesitation.

All prior interior work in our house had been done by handyman. I really appreciated the communication from our project manager Marc. He created a WhatsApp chat with me and the incredible designer Jocelyn. They were both consistently responsive to any of my questions or concerns -- and opened my mind to design options. Jocelyn spent time in our home, drafted plans, took me shopping, and sourced all the fixtures. From her spreadsheet I was able to find less expensive options for some items. I appreciated the input and control I had on these expenses. Since we needed to move out, I had a tight timeline for the project -- mid October until Thanksgiving. Marc and the team did their best despite City of San Jose delays with inspections. We were able to move back in before the final inspection. Every member of the team was kind and courteous. Marc also did a great job working with the window vendor that specializes in older homes. I'm rating the experience a 4.5 out of 5 for two reasons. I was disappointed that the medicine cabinet, switch plates, and hooks were initially installed unevenly (it was corrected). I expected more attention to detail. And I was disappointed in the wear & tear that happened on my wood floors as well as the overall dust in my dining room. I was warned that things would get dusty -- but didn't understand the extent and would have packed away more things. WISE offers lots of support with design -- they could also offer as part of their package a full cleaning! I offer this feedback to help others calibrate their expectations. Overall it was a positive experience. I waited several months to post this review until I returned from travel and could see how things were settling after regular use. I'm loving the new bathroom and recommend WISE.

From start to finish, they maintained professionalism and kept fluid communications during the construction and remodeling process. They suggested bifold closet doors-- saves so much space. You have your ideas of ur new home, but they tweak it to make it better! Love it. On day of demo, we met Jerry, Luis, Jonathan, and Joshua. Jerry and Luis were on top of communication and kept everything on schedule. Jonathan and Joshua were our main guys. They worked every day. They helped with moving our boxes into the storage bin, then started the demo process. How fun was it to see our house completely gutted out in less than one day.. wow. They revamped our home with a stunning remodel--new kitchen, new bathroom, transformed hallway closet space to a new powder room, broke down walls to create a bigger space for our living area, new flooring, complete electrical rewire, new recess lighting with dimmers in all rooms, new attic storage, new closets, new windows, and fresh paint. Everything feels sleek, modern, and functional. Not to mention... we now have an awesome new movie room too! The kids are loving it. Walking into our house now feels like stepping into a brand-new home! The whole process took about 3 months... from demo, to materials pick up, to permits, clean up removal, repaint. From…read morebeginning to end, our points of contact, Avi & Joseph have gone above and beyond for our project, walking us through the planning phases, permitting, design, construction and finishing work of the renovation. They were able to make a normally very stressful process almost stress-free, so much so that all I had to do was say "yes or no" when it came to key decisions. The Construction & More team took lead in the painful parts of dealing with permitting, PG&E, and subcontractors. They also got us in contact with their preferred vendors to help us with discounts on appliances, finishes and other materials we needed to purchase out of pocket. Overall, I found the Construction & More team extremely professional, transparent, organized, communicative and punctual when it came to the end-to-end process. They truly helped guide us through the process so we didn't have any surprises and helped us navigate any hiccups that came up. Normally, construction companies get a bad rap of being dishonest and trying to add in hidden fees and such, but Construction & More is a truly forthcoming and hardworking group of contractors who have your best interest at heart when it comes to your project no matter how big or small. For the process itself, we began with a consultation at our home to walk through the work we wanted the Construction & More team to do. For us, it was a full renovation which included removing a kitchen wall to create an open concept kitchen & living room, adding a mud room, expanding the master bedroom, moving the front and garage doors, as well as moving the ceilings to create a more open space. After the consultation was completed, we met with Avi & Joseph at their office to discuss an estimate and timeline for the work we needed done about (6-months time, pending no delays). Avi & Joseph respected our budget and were upfront and honest of how to stay within the budget and what were non-negotiables that we needed to get done. They really helped us understand what work was critical and what were nice to have to make our living space better. Once we agreed on the work, they promptly sent over a contract for signature, created a whatsapp group for real time communication, and next steps. Overall this initial process took about a week after negotiations and contract reviews. Once construction began, the team coordinated all the work. They made sure that all moving parts were well executed while setting a realistic timeline for the work to be done. All the subcontractors and tradesmen were effectively scheduled, where there wasn't a single day where there was no work being done. I felt that the team ensured that the construction was moving swiftly and the crew was respectful of our space. The crew made sure that our home was properly locked up and cleaned up after each day's work. Additionally, all the detailed finishing work was measured and completed with precision, where all the tiles placed were measured with a laser. As a bonus, the crew was also super respectful to our neighbors which is an extra plus! If you're considering a renovation of any size, but especially a full home renovation, I could not rave more about Construction & More. Their expertise, professionalism, thoroughness and transparency really sets them apart from the competition. I'm extremely grateful and happy with the outcome of our renovation! Good work guys!!

Elya provided a comprehensive and detailed walk-through of the entire project plan upfront. This significant undertaking included foundation work, extensive structural modifications for the new roof and walls, electrical work, painting, and all the final finishes. Golden View quickly prepared the architectural diagrams and designs for the new bathroom, which were presented to us for feedback and were exceptionally well-made. Once the designs were finalized, all materials were promptly ordered and secured, and the plan was submitted to the city for permits. Elya diligently followed up with city authorities and provided regular updates, ensuring the necessary approvals were obtained efficiently. As busy professionals with young children, we are extremely pleased we chose Elya as the project manager. Their exceptional management ensured everything was well-planned, organized, and communicated regularly. The pace of the actual construction was notably faster than we had estimated. We were initially expecting the project to take around six months, but it was completed in just four months--a remarkable achievement in timeline management. This was very critical factor for us right from the begining. The quality of the work and the process itself were both excellent. We continued to live in the house during the renovation, and Elya's team maintained continuous checkpoints at various stages, meaning there were absolutely no major surprises. Any minor issues that arose were addressed immediately. Furthermore, the work site was consistently kept safe and isolated, which was a primary concern for us having two younger children. We always received advance notice about what work was scheduled and if any input was needed from us, allowing us to plan our days accordingly. Many of the contractors we met with did great work, are knowledgeable, but we selected Golden View because we felt Hugo and his team were the best fit for us. They matched us with the same excitement for the potential of modernizing our kitchen to our needs and we felt they paid the most attention to genuinely honor our wish to increase storage in the kitchen and make it efficient for entertaining. We stressed that the kitchen had to be functional more than beautiful, and they managed to provide us both. Their designer worked so hard to provide us with functional and beautiful designs. We were overwhelmed by the many directions the kitchen design could go and Assel, their designer, presented us detailed options to go through. Their team was also so neat and clean as they worked on the renovation. They kept areas taped up to keep debris from getting into the rest of the house since we were still living in the house while they remodeled the kitchen. We also appreciated the ease of communicating with them at any time. Hugo and his assistant Andrew, both would respond to us. Andrew came out to really take great notes and videos about anything we noticed for touch ups, and it was really well outlined with punchlists to clear the final touch ups. This was a good experience as we heard many of our friends complain about their contractors being hard to find when it came to the final touch up work at the end of a big renovation. Thank you Hugo, Assel, and Andrew. You made this big kitchen model a successful one for us.
