The best ability is availability. I originally chose LeCut after interviewing with a few local Referred construction people. My decision was based on, simply looking at the yelp and Google reviews first. Then, Yari, who became our consultant, showed up and spent some time discussing the project with me. We set realistic goals for a timeline. He shared some ideas that the other construction team members did not share. I didn't feel like I was surprised during any point in the process. One of the things that Yari did really well is maintain communication and pretty much a daily basis. There was times when he was proactive, but there was times when he was responsive to my calls. Doing a big construction project has a lot of small intricacies. I felt like the communication was pretty fluid throughout. This was even when Yari was on a family vacation up in Yellowstone. He was proactively communicating with me. Edgar was our foreman and he did an excellent job of showing up every day and working on rhythm. I don't think he took a day off. Overall, I would say very professional between my two point people. The owner of the company, Michael showed up and did a friendly check in when Yari was on vacation. We have been pleased to work with Yari and Guy at LeCut Construction. We had an old wooden deck that needed to be replaced with fire-resistant materials as we live in a Wildland Urban Interface area. Michael and Guy kept-us up to date on progress and we met weekly/biweekly. Guy was on top of coordinating the schedule with building work, materials readiness, and inspection schedule from the city. They were expecting 6-8 months for the project. The whole construction and remodeling work took just a bit over 6 months. This is fascinating when you talk to people for this scope of work and many would expect to take over a year or more. All communications happened through e-mail and whatsapp group chat. The process working with the architect, designer, project manager, and contractors has been smooth. Everyone kept us up-to-date in the process and responded promptly to inquiry. Our home addition project (~300sqft master suite) started out great, with a different company. However, after close to 6 months of delays by the company to start our project (after design/permit stage), the company tried to increase their price by almost 40% even with a signed contract. We said no thank you, and started our search for a new construction company. After meeting with a couple of new companies that we didnt really like, we had the pleasure of meeting Michael at LeCut. He was like a breath of fresh air. We were immediately put at ease regarding our addition project. He was honest, straightforward, and easy going. What a difference! Since we already had our plans and permits ready, all we had to do was switch the permits over which took a little more time but after that, we were ready to go. Prior to the actual start of our project, Michael came by with Osbaldo, the foreman for a run through with our plans in hand. He explained everything to us about how the process would go and what we could expect. Things moved so fast after that. Our project took about 4.5 months from the start of construction to final inspection. The whole process from start to finish was great. Michael and his team were always keeping us in the loop regarding the process, inspections, and if there were any questions that the crew had. Working with Tal, the designer was also a pleasure and he really listened to what we liked/didnt like regarding the final look and flow of our new master bathroom. Did I mention we were living in the house during this time and glamping in the living room! Everyone was so respectful of our space and did their best to minimize all the dust and construction debris to ensure our home still felt like a home and was livable. I really only have good things to say about Michael and LeCut. Large construction projects can be overwhelming, daunting, and expensive. However, the ease and thoroughness at which Michael handled the whole process made our life so much easier. No question went unanswered and he really listened to what we wanted and expected. We began planning our modified kitchen remodel in late '23, found Le Cut in March/April '24 and they began work shortly after. We are delighted with our new kitchen. Guy and his team followed through on everything we agreed upon. There was no back and forth on the price as I believe their price was reasonable and I accepted right up front, (I don't usually do this). I was impressed with the level of detail they displayed while discussing the project. I believe the photos speak for themselves in terms of how the project looked upon completion. One area for improvement would have been their design service. My home kitchen/Family room remodel contract agreement was in Late February of 2020 with Michael Abovich, the Project Mgr. Due to Covid, there were delays that could not be helped. Most of the work began approx. in the May and June time frame on. It involved a lot of demolition of a large fireplace and also entryway tile and demo. of the whole kitchen. It involved completely new cabinets, new floors, Granite countertops new appliances, fixtures, backsplash, lights, removal of popcorn ceiling, painting, etc. It turned out just like a new home. LeCut Construction did a great job on the whole project and we were very pleased when the job was completed in mid-September. LeCut Construction followed all of the strict requirements with Permits and correct installations to code. There were a few minor delays due to ordering some new cabinet hardware, but we had lots of time to spare.
