We had the most magical experience at Hoots Hollow Farm with Diane. I truly cannot recommend this…read moreplace enough. From the moment we arrived, Diane went above and beyond. When it started raining, she drove us around in her golf cart so we could still enjoy everything without missing a thing. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the whole experience feel so special. She took the time to introduce us to all the animals and was especially sweet with my son Atlas. Watching her gently introduce him to everything and everyone was honestly the highlight. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does and cares so much about the families who visit. The eggs are incredible. So fresh you can literally taste the difference. Her "rainbow eggs" are beautiful and you can tell there's such a variety. It feels like you're getting something truly special, not just a carton of eggs. One of my favorite parts is that after you buy eggs, she lets the kids hang out in the coop and play for as long as they want. There's also a little play area, which makes it such an easy and fun outing for families. And the location is perfect. It feels like a peaceful little farm escape, but you're still so close to the city, which makes it even better. Diane is truly the sweetest, and this farm is something really special. We loved every second and will absolutely be coming back.

Diane is amazing! The eggs are so fresh and all the activities they have at the farm.read more

Every Friday and Saturday, Taj opens his farm stand to the public, and it's here that you will find freshest, most delicious organic produce you've ever purchased in your life. My wife and I stop by every Saturday morning to see what Taj has, and we're always amazed at the selection, which changes from week to week depending on what's ready for harvest. Yesterday, for example, we bought broccoli, carrots, celery, lettuce, spring onions, and edible (!!) flowers. Then, Taj told us to wait a minute. He went out to his gardens and harvested some sugar snap peas for us right then and there. Oh. My. God. The sweetest, most delicious snap peas I've ever eaten. We of course bought some of those too. And that's the real beauty of going to the farm stand yourself instead of just doing a CSA box. You get to interact with Taj. He'll tell you what he loves best at the moment, and introduce you to some things you might not have otherwise tried (hello, black radish!). You'll also find fresh eggs (we have our own chickens so I don't need to buy those), lemons, and a variety of other produce. Whatever's fresh. Whatever's delicious. And if you need more of something, Taj is more than happy to go out in the garden and pick it for you. Extra bonus: the prices are very reasonable. The farm stand is currently open only on Friday from 2:30 to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Check the website for updates or give Taj a call.

I add greens to everything now, it's so easy to get great veggies into my diet. And the fresh eggs are such a treat knowing they come from healthy chickens. Rick and his family were so nice to us and we got to learn about his ranch. The entire experience was free and the feed was $1 for a full cup. We ended up feeding 3 cups worth because there were so many alpacas and goats! I loved that we were able to park in and walk around our own pace to see each animal there. It was so worth it and this experience is amazing! I highly recommend coming by during their open ranch dates (check their website- only open for select days per month)! I ended up checking out their vendors they have and bought a standing alpaca! So adorable :)

We had the BEST time! I've loved llamas and alpacas for a very long time and was SO excited to see…read morethem in person and close up. The farm is free of charge. You have the option to walk around the farm on your own and/or take a guided tour around it. If you want to feed the alpacas, their food in a cup is offered for $1. And there is a place for you to wash up after feeding them. The barn offers locally crafted items, including one that uses the llama fur for hats, scarves, etc. The official gift store for the farm is there as well. We found a cute painting for our kitchen, which was fairly inexpensive. They're only open one Saturday a month so grab the opportunity to visit when you can!

She told me that she didn't think I put in the right place but we decided to go anyway. We saw that this place was so cute and had so many fun little things to see. At the time there was a sort of craft swap meet too. There were so many creative creators. I almost went broke. They have a decent size store that had about average prices. We got some great deals at the swap meet as well There is a small coffee shop and the lady behind the counter was super friendly. The coffee was average. It could have been less milky but my grandson loved his smoothie. There were a couple of cute chickens in a pen. There is a small sand pit for toddlers and also a swing set for smaller kids as well. There is a flower maze near the beginning The maze does need a bit of a makeover but we still had a nice time looking at the tall sunflowers. They have a small kissing bridge for a cute photo op I will definitely be back with my other grandchildren.

From the live music and coffee shop to the rustic Mercantile barn full of unique finds, every corner invites you to slow down and enjoy the day. The pumpkin patch was incredible -- filled with all kinds of beautiful varieties at prices far below what you'll find in stores. We loved seeing the Highland cows, wandering the gardens, and finding all the perfect little spots for photos. There's plenty of seating, shade, and even a play area for kids. It's free to visit, thoughtfully designed, and clearly run by people who love what they do. Just off Highway 80 in East El Cajon, this is the perfect weekend escape. Can't wait to return!
