It is better to deal with the company directly (ie. don't get that bundle!) so there isn't any "He Said/ She Said" stuff going on, which is the case whenever the bill wasn't right. It was never right for the first 15 mos. Hubby had to call every time. Even then, down the line, hubby had to make so many calls to set it straight. Anyway, on the service from Direct TV, the cable service was very good. We had few issues with the service overall. It was pretty reliable. There were few blackouts. We were able to DVR several shows (up to three), but I think that there was a limit. There was also a good amount of space for recording and keeping shows. Hence, my reasons, for the above star rating. We couldn't continue with it in our new place, I forget, for what reason. Anyway, it is better than what we have now (Century Link)--- it is very bad. Don't believe those commercials. It hasn't been a good experience with them. The cable and internet service with CL is not good. We might be going back to the original cable service after our current contract is done.

If anyone else has directtv and is planning on recording the games, you better check your channel guides And a new update..directtv is now not carrying ABC here in Vegas at all, due to a contract dispute, so never mind recording the games, you won't even be able to watch..and all this the day after they send me an email saying they're raising my rates $15 a month..what a company.

I went in today and had an absolutely amazing customer service experience with Genesis. My personal…read moremodem stopped working shortly after the warranty expired, and I wasn't able to purchase a new one right away. I went to Cox expecting to have to buy a replacement, but Genesis explained my options and showed me that I could use a modem through Cox for only a $15 monthly fee until I was able to get a new one. What impressed me the most was how she took the time to review my account and show me ways I could actually save money. She explained everything clearly and demonstrated the changes in a way that was easy to understand. She was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on helping me find the best solution. Customer service like this is rare, and Genesis is a great example of what outstanding service should look like. I truly appreciate the time and effort she put into helping me today.

So you know what everyone dealing with them that is more than F***ing frustrated! with Cox do get name badges get confirmation numbers and do know they "keep notes" on what they wish to say regarding the situation so you do the same :) ask for a "recap" on agreement go as far as even asking to see the profile if you go to actual location and if you choose to go by their word expect you may get disappointed after. For example the notes when I called the number of the main actual co. you will find on your bill they noted: I declined tech insurance well NO! the employee never mentioned anything about an tech fee so I was charged $100 for a tech coming out. I followed all the directions on the phone I watched the tech I did everything as I was directed to do by phone so yup games! they could have tuned it on that day but why should they when playing dumb is best and charging me $100 for 5 min of a tech coming out is best? Also do know when you call the number from your previous bill they quote different price points then when you actually go to the store nothing is consistent! so you know what since they wasted my time I think people should know get details don't EVER! take any employees word for it at the end of they day they or course are suppose to smile and be nice they just want to get through the day and sugar coat you. They are two stars for a reason :)

They raised their minimum speeds, initially, I was on a 50Mbps speed, but my last speed test showed I was around 80-85Mbps. This did come with an increase in my monthly bill (from $50 to $65) and there is now a fee ($3) that I'm not sure what it is for. Value - The price per Mbps is good. Based on the numbers above it was about $0.75 per Mb. Compared to Cox which offers 50Mbps at $50 is $1 per Mb. So it really depends what you need the internet for and if you prioritize value or overall cost. Service - When I call Century Link, I'm usually on hold for 25-35 minutes when I call in the morning. I couldn't use their website to perform what I wanted so I had to call, but there is no call back option. I also did not have one of my signals when I got set up initially. One of the cross box connections was wired incorrectly so I was only getting one signal. It took a few visits from a technician to figure it out. When I check their website for internet plans, I see there there are two options for a monthly price of $55/month so I don't know why I was paying $68/month, but I wasn't even offered that when I wanted to cancel service. Also be aware that if you cancel one day after the start of a billing cycle, they will not prorate it. You will need to use their service for the remainder of the cycle even if you already have a new provider.

They would only remove the late fee if I did auto withdrawal run by them. That doesn't work for me and my budgeting when they can decide it's time for a rate increase. They absolutely have zero human ability to not read off of a script and listen. It's the script it or nothing. Then I googled locations in town to return their equipment asap and was met with equally rude people that just hang up on you (twice) when they don't know the answer! Awful customer service. Just awful. The internet did work well though. Back to cox I guess.
