I learned about this establishment via Restaurants.com and the owner refused to honor my certificate. With me being only 1 of 3 patrons in his establishment on a Saturday evening, I guess he needed all the money he could get. The outside is set up as Castle Byers, and then you walk through a short hallway designed to look like the middle school dance floor from Season 2. Right away, you know they put real thought into the details. Once you enter the main seating area, it gets even better. They had Chrissy on the ceiling from Season 4 (yes, that scene), the couch from the Byers' house, and the iconic alphabet wall with the Christmas lights. Our table even had a Pac-Man game built in that we could play while we waited--such a cool touch. The themed menu was great, with a whole lineup of Stranger Things-inspired drinks. I ordered the waffle sliders, which are tiny waffles with a burger inside, served with fries. They were absolutely delicious--perfectly sweet and savory at the same time. My son ordered the large TV-tray-style plate inspired by the show, complete with turkey and gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, and more. Everything on his plate was genuinely delicious and comforting. Even though the Stranger Things pop-up is no longer available (they rotate themes--SpongeBob is currently up), I'm so glad we made the drive. The experience was fun, immersive, the food was solid, and we got a ton of great pictures. I would absolutely do it all over again and can't wait to see what theme they roll out next. If you enjoy themed dining experiences, the Wobbly Ollie is 100% worth the trip.

The Indy review went on about the wonderful cocktails made from barrel-aged spirits, but there was no cocktail menu, just a beer list. The food list was sparse, at best, although it did list some pulled pork tacos the Indy raved about. We were planning to stick it out a bit longer, but server seemed in no hurry to get back to us and finally our patience ran out and we left, walking through a different phalanx of smokers. I suggest that you find a better dive if you are in the mood and for goodness sake, don't believe food reviews in the Indy! I did notice that the good yelp reviews were from 2018 and 2019, the negative ones from 2020.

My second drink was a NY Sour - whiskey sour with a red wine foam foam on top. Both were creative, but I def preferred the former. Lastly, the service was great. They are throwing down in that little kitchen, I had no idea!! My friends got gourmet ham & brie and Italian paninis with house chips. I just ordered a small chef's choice charcuterie board for like $12 which everyone snacked on & I still got full!! They have three different board sizes to choose from! It was so good that this will definitely become our pre-show ritual.
