I was very pleasantly surprised by Skyline Auto Body. I had a 2003 Chev S10 truck that failed inspection due to rust/hole in driver's side floor. I took my truck to two auto body shops and called another 3 in Fairfax. None of them would take the job. I called Skyline Auto Body and they asked me to bring it by. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: In my opinion, this place comes across like a two-bit chop shop, but they do perform repairs for insurance claims. However, there are concerns. First, the good - They will repair the car and return it fully cleaned. They might even go out of there way to do more repairs than listed. Some of the workers care about the car and the customer. The managers will help facilitate the insurance company giving you a rental car. The paint colors match well without overspray; Second, the bad - They may not complete the repairs within the estimated timeline. They will not provide you with any detailed written estimate from their shop, they defer only to the insurance adjuster's estimate for work. You have to rely on verbal trust. The cleaning may leave residue and buffing swirls; Third the ugly - They may attempt to repair your OEM parts with fillers in order to generate more profit from the insurance payments even though they are being paid to replace the parts. Some folks might like this, while others may not. They do not perform quality control checks, so you have to review your car very carefully and in the proper light at various angles to ensure the job is done to your satisfaction. You may have to argue with them in order to correct deficiencies, but if you stay firm, they will address it. They will deposit a two-party check from the insurance company without the claimant's signature. You might review the disclosures they have you sign carefully before signing. read more

These guys did a fantastic job on my car. I was rear-ended and the person who hit me made an appointment for my car at this body shop to do the repairs. I had to have a whole new rear bumper put on and they did a beautiful job. The work was done quickly, I dropped the car off on a Sunday evening and they were done mid-day Wednesday. They even touched up a small spot of rust that was on my fender right above where the bumper attaches (completely unrelated to the fender bender, was already there) without me even asking and it looks wonderful, paint was matched perfectly. The guys here are very friendly and professional. Top notch work, highly recommend this place if you need body work done. The only thing I can't comment on is their prices since the person who hit me took care of the bill so I never saw it.
