Four inches? My friend got two cheese coney's for $6. About the same as mine. My other friend got a small 4 way for $7.49. It was simply a small dish of pasta with chili, onions and cheese. Finished it in a couple of minutes. Drinks were sweet tea $2.89 ice tea $2.89 You know the old trick. Glasses were filled with ice and you got half a glass full of the actual product. I'd say the biggest gyp was the funnel fries. Maybe 8 sticks the size of french fries for $4.89. Portion are small here. Food was good but a man will leave hungry unless he spends a lot. Total for three was almost $30. I tipped our server $6. I can't see coming back. read more

The Clearwater Skyline was clean, prestin and looked relatively new with its mix of Cincinnati memorabilia and Clearwater decor. We received an enthusiastic "Welcome to Skyline!" as soon as we walked thru the door " I went straight to the bathroom to wah my hands. The women's bathroom has two stalls. It was very clean and it smelled fresh! I had lost my faith in Skylines that were outside of Ohio. The food at the Fort Lauderdale Skyline is not very good but this one renewed my hope that there was a Skyline outside of the Midwest that could do a chili cheese coney and a 4 way some justice. I never thought that I would like Skyline Chili but I did! After living 20 years in Texas, I have eaten a lot of chili. I walked in the door not expecting Texas chili. This was my first visit to Skyline and it will not be my last. It's a sit-down chain that has diner-style dishes garnished with it's signature Greek chili. Because I was a newbie, we ordered a lot of food. We got some Cheese Coneys, small 5-Ways, fries and Funnel Fries. The Coneys were ok but I wish that they had more chili and a little less cheese. I would ask for the cheese on the side next time because it's taste can be a little overpowering. The 5-Way was awesome. It also had a lot of cheese but it melted nicely into the spaghetti. Next time, I will get the larger order...it was that good! The fries were crispy, hot and tasty. The Funnel Fries tasted great but they aren't much to look at. Skyline Chili is NOT Texas chili. It has a Mediterranean/Greek flavor profile. The service was friendly and speedy. The chili is tasty and quite unique in the world of fast food in Clearwater. On my next visit, I'm going to try the Greek Salad and some of the other menu items. It is a little pricey for what it is. As a recommendation, I would stick with the 5-Ways. Why 5 stars? Because this is one of my guiltiest pleasures. --- --- --- I definitely reviewed Skyline Chili before. Maybe they moved since then? As I wrote in another review recently, I feel weird giving 5-stars to Skyline, while also giving 5-stars to Bern's Steakhouse. I grade everything on the curve of what it is: a fast-casual spot or a high-end steakhouse. And for cheap eats, Skyline always hits the spot. I guess I shouldn't label it fast-casual since you do actually have a table and a server here. It's really more diner-style than anything. But the food does come out fairly quick. I would normally go with the 5-way, but I seem to have a pinch of PTSD from having raw onion mouth for hours after my meal, so I stick with 4-way. And it's delicious. This is easily the greatest gift Cincinnati has ever given us. We also tried some kind of sausage link special hot dog, which was essentially a 4-way chili in hot dog form aka awesome. I wish there were a Skyline closer than Clearwater, but whenever we head over to the beach, this is always a great option that presents itself on Gulf-to-Bay. read more

So, I have to remind myself when choosing stars and writing reviews that I must not let my own food preferences prejudice my yelping. For instance, I don't like sushi AT ALL, so it would not be fair for me to review a sushi restaurant. They might have the best sushi in Tampa Bay, but I would hate it! I think we had one of these in Chicago many years ago when I lived there and I don't even remember if I ever tried it, today I tried this one. I wanted a Hot Dog, but didn't feel like driving all the way over to Bruce's Chicago Dog's. So, I thought what the Hell, let's try Skyline Chili. I ordered 2 Coney Dogs, Fries and a Pepsi. I opted for no cheese because I saw the cook putting a BIG HANDFUL OF CHEESE on someone else's Coney Dog. LIKE, WAY TOO MUCH CHEESE! LIKE, STUPID CHEESE!!! I sat at the counter and kinda chatted with one of the cooks when he wasn't too busy. I said this was my first time so he told his partner to give me a sample of their 2-Way Chili (spaghetti, with chili and cheese on top). Nice. As we chatted I said something about really liking Outback's new TASMANIAN CHILI because it has some ZIP to it's flavor. The cook told me his chili was gonna be different. That it had a little sweetness to it and might not be what I expected. I was reading the menu about how Skyline Chili started in Cincinnati in 1946 by a Greek family. OK, I know what to expect now. A waitress at another restaurant explained to me that a lot of Greek recipes are sweeter than some people are used to. Spaghetti Sauce for example. The dogs are cooked on a grill instead of "water-logged-dogs" stewing in a Nitrate pool. I got my Chili Dogs and they are shorter than "normal" hot dogs. Like 30% smaller- maybe short wieners is an Ohio thing. Just kidding, cheap joke, couldn't resist. The sample of 2-Way Chili was fine. I detected a hint of cinnamon and sweetness that I don't expect in chili. Greek recipe. The dogs were good, but the chili just wasn't my taste. The fries were good, made freshly. So, like I said at the beginning, just because something isn't my taste doesn't mean it's bad. Skyline Chili is good for what it is. A very region specific taste for people who appreciate it. read more

Wonderful experience! One of the best Skyline locations I've ever been to. We are from Cincinnati, the birthplace of Skyline chili. At home, we eat Skyline at least twice a week, so it's such a comfort to find it in Florida. The workers at this location were so friendly, and greeted every single customer who walked in the door. For people who aren't familiar with Cincinnati style chili, please do not compare it to the Texas style chili you're used to. This is it's own animal. I consider it to be more of a savory sauce for your hot dogs and spaghetti, loaded with the best cheese on the planet. This is an Ohio staple wich I have tried on several occasions. My partner is a fanatic of this restaurant so I will give both of our perspectives. He loves this place so much that on Valentine's Day this was his choice. If you don't speak the lingo of skyline read up on their website so you don't look like you don't belong. The interior is cute and clean nothing spectacular. The service is really fast we had several meals ordered and before I finished taking pictures for this review my food was up. I finally tried this place after living here for almost 2 years. It know a guy from Cincinnati that thinks this place is the best ever so I had to try it. The chili was OK. I think my home made chili is better. Its a bit different than what Im used to. It almost has a cinnamon or dark chocolate flavor and the meat is very fine. I like my chili more chunky and less soupy. Their cheese was delicious and supposedly shredded fresh everyday. The cheese reminds me of taco casa cheese in Texas. Overall a good keto/low carb meal if you order correctly. Ill have to come back on a cheat day and try the chili cheese fries or maybe a potato and a chili dog. read more

My good friend is from Cincinnati and introduced me to Skyline Chili. I've had both the normal kind and the vegetarian 3-way and I actually prefer the vegetarian, even though I'm not one. I have also never been to Ohio. This location is our preferred location of the two Clearwater locations (though the other one may have closed). It's clean, well-lit and friendly. The meal starts with those crackers that usually come with clam chowder soup. It's simply a dry bowl of those crackers. My friend likes to mix hot sauce in with the crackers. I don't know if that's a real thing or just her, but you have to ask for the hot sauce because it's not a default item at the table. For beer, they had two light beers and Shock Top, on draft. It goes nicely with the vegetarian 3-way, which is now my default order. There are spaghetti noodles under all that cheese and chili. Very messy. Luckily, napkins are at the table. When the meal is done, you pay at the register. Be sure to enter your phone number on the keypad for frequent diner points toward free chili. read more

My husband and I tried the cheese coneys and also shared a 5 way which is spaghetti, chili, cheese, onions and beans. They give you oyster crackers to add on top. The spaghetti was a little wet and softer than I would normally like. As far as the cheese coney, the hotdog itself was very good and I loved all the cheddar cheese loaded on top. I just didn't like the flavor of the chili so this review is mostly based on that. I think it's too much of a cinnamon taste or something. It's New Year's Day & not much is open for lunch. So we tried Skyline. I ordered a chili burrito. A plate arrived with a healthy portion of lettuce & cheese. Buried deep underneath was a tiny chili-filled tortilla. The taste was just ok, as it was dominated by lettuce & cheese. The plate looked attractive with the orange & green coloring. But again it was difficult to find the small burrito buried inside, & difficult to appreciate it. The workers were pleasant enough & the restaurant seemed very clean. The food though didn't impress. I had the original burrito. I chose it because it was a way to have lettuce and tomatoes while still enjoying a cheesy chili and sour cream food moment. The ice cream and funnel fries are the best! I was so surprised. My friend and I shared a Greek salad and that was light and refreshing. You need to get up and pay at the counter so don't wait around like we did lol. The restrooms were very clean! I really appreciated that. I have always wanted to try Skyline Chili. I actually knew nothing about it until I tried a Chili 5-Way years ago at Steak N Shake. I actually liked it, so I figured let me try the original. I of course ordered a 5 way. I have to say I was put off a little by the strong curry like flavor of the chili in the beginning. The 5 way was stacked to the top with cheese which I loved! Once the cheese was melted into the spaghetti it was much more palatable. It was enjoyable but I don't think I would go out of my way to get it again when I have a Steak N Shake right around my corner. My wife got a Buffalo chicken wrap which was fine, but more of an afterthought as it was quite generic. The restaurant was certainly clean and our server was great. I have been coming here for years. I have family from Cincinnati and this is my favorite style of Chili for sure. I have always had good service anytime I've been here and today was no different. I sat myself and was greeted immediately by a very friendly waitress. She had multiple tables but was able to multitask very well. I ordered 2 Cheese Coneys and a side of fries on this visit. Since everything is cooking already my food came out very quickly. It was also very good. I always add some of their hot sauce which elevates the taste for me. Ok, please understand that I love Skyline Chili and this is one of the best locations I have ever been to. Even with the workers shortage (just lazy people milking the system) this location was quick to take the order and quick to get us our food. As for the food, my coneys had a lot of chili sauce, a lot of cheese, and a lot of mustard just like I ordered, and they've been pretty consistent every time I'm there. Now this isn't the type you'd find in the south, more of a northern style - Cincinnati, OH. Everything, well almost everything, is covered in chili and cheese. They do have a good selection of salads, wraps, and even vegetarian selections. Bella and Jr weren't to keen on the chili, but the rest of us would definitely come back. The service was awesome. Skyline is a great place if you're looking for some food you haven't tried before. This is a Cincinnati franchise that has opened one location in clearwater. As a Cincinnati native, I can tell you that this is just as good as the stores in Cincinnati. You seat yourself when you arrive and you'll love the smell when you walk in. Even though I referred to my grandson by his name JACOB throughout her "service" she said "you ladies", "girls", etc. WTF are you so old that you are unable to be a human being and acknowledge that although my grandson has long hair, you cannot use the proper pronoun? Welcome to the 21st century where people do not tolerate your abusive behavior. Also, while "serving" someone upon whom you rely upon for a job and tips, never say to the customer "if you need a refill, let me know as I'm passing by" and clean off the cups you are serving us when the red dye of the crème soda will stain our clothing. Common courtesy goes a long way but you seem unable to be a decent person. Again, WTF it is your JOB to come to our table and ask if we would like a refill not the other way around. YOU, TINA, are the reason we often get carry out rather than dining in, which results in no tips for anyone in the restaurant. Let's try, just try, to modify your behavior to be a decent human being.
