Yummy. Their chili recipe is so good, I love the cheese coneys. We don't have skyline where I live in Florida.

You know you're in southern Ohio when... your fast meal options include Skyline Chili! I have been to several locations, and this one is my favorite. It's decorated with local landmarks and sports memorabilia. When you first sit down, the wait staff brings a little bowl of oyster crackers - supposedly to go with your chili, but I can't wait. They are little salty morsels of goodness. Peruse the menu, of course, but here's what I always get: fries (with or without chili and cheese, depending upon how hungry I am), and a chili cheese dog. If you like mustard or other accoutrements, ask for it. The dog comes with only chili and cheese. For about $6 with tip, it's an inexpensive road trip meal that satisfies, is local, and, of course, is delicious. The place is filled with families, locals and travelers alike. I always feel comfortable eating here, whether with my own family or alone. And the chili is already made, so service is fast and you're back on the road relatively quickly. There is also free wifi, so yelp your photos! Yum with a local twist = happy traveler.

So,,, the story is, we were on the way down to Georgia from Detroit. I-75 all the way down and there was a point where our partially gassed up chariot needed more fuel. With all that happening, I told my passengers about spaghetti and chili buried in grated cheese. And this restaurant is the "Gold Standard" as far as Ohio-ans are concerned. So, we split a three way three way and a Coney. Ok, here goes. Three Way: Its still pretty interesting to me. It's pretty good but I'm just not super wowed about it. Skyline's is definitely much version is definitely better than GoldStar. Coney: Eh,, I'm from Detroit. I'm used to ours. Anyway, the service is really good. Our server was on point. Tables are clean, everything is in its proper place. I definitely enjoyed my dining experience here. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!

I am from WI and in town for work. I stopped by for a late lunch, around 2:00, on 1/28/19. I was greater with a friendly hello. I got the regular sized chili 4 way and I added sour cream. The restaurant had some customers, very clean. My meal was served in a very timely manner, fairly priced, and accurate. I was asked if I had wanted oyster crackers and hot sauce. I would recommend this place! Quick, good portions, and easily accessible.

This is definitely a unique thing to this area and something everyone should experience once in their life. The place is a typical diner type atmosphere, so don't go in expecting different. That being said, the staff was fast and efficient. There is apparently a "thing" they do where they close off where you can sit later at night. I didn't really like that. The food was good, and a different kind of chili than what most are used to. It's pretty messy, so be forewarned and probably not the best in the digestive track. Go for the experience.

This review is long overdue…read more.. No trip to my hometown is complete without a visit to get a Spanish dog. The "place" has long since changed and I must admit I miss the old place down the road that no longer exists and hasn't for years...lots of memories there. Not to mention my parents and grandparents frequented that old Root Beer Stand. I do like the idea that when this "new" place was built years ago they added inside dining. Even the folks who grumbled and/or cried years ago when the old place was torn down liked the idea of indoor dining! Besides, depending on the mood, it is nice to eat inside, and the old place used to close down in the cold months. I've watched the prices go up over the years, but I keep coming. The taste has changed over the years as well, but I still keep coming. Well, there was a year in there when I stopped because of the recipe changing too much and that period when the hotdogs themselves were different. I do miss the old recipe, and they are using it, but I think the people who make it have a lot to do with it and employees come and go, so that special something is lost. The root beer is always super cold and delicious and mushrooms are normally pretty good. They have daily specials and I can honestly say that I've had everything on the menu, but the Spanish dog is the "go-to" item in my opinion. They still come to your car to take your order and bring your food to you if you pull up under the overhang. But it's not like the old days when you automatically got a tray and had to start up your car for them to come get your tray (trash, mugs, etc.)...I miss that. Now you take care of the trash, etc. and you don't get glass mugs unless you sit inside. Root beer tastes better in glass mugs...jus' sayin'. Although it's not as unique as it used to be, it's still a unique place. Be advised, when you stay in your car to order, they will take your card to run it inside. Be aware of this in advance, but it's safe. Aside from the area to place your order from your car and eat, there is plenty of other parking if you wish to eat inside. Just be sure to not park in the area where folks wish to pull up and eat (the overhang area)...make sense? And if you eat inside, take time to enjoy the décor. The black & white checkered floor sets the stage for the 1950s motif complete with a jukebox and cool bar perfect for enjoying a root beer float. There are restrooms as well. The staff is staff. Prices are a tad high, but it's worth it. Moreover, they stay open year-round. No matter how you slice it...a bite of a Spanish dog brings back memories for me...my childhood, my wild teenage days, friends, fond memories of family, and just some really good thoughts and vibes. And that is what keeps me coming back... Please note: The B-K in Piqua and the one in Troy are no longer affiliated from what I understand. So, please do not confuse this one with the one in Piqua. The food tastes the same, but different (for lack of a better term), and nearly the same menus. Try both and decide which one you like more! But remember, the one in Piqua is open seasonally.

She took the time to walk us through the menu and even shared how she cashed in her retirement to follow her dream of owning this place. You can tell her heart is in every bite. The menu covers all the good stuff--burgers, fried bologna, chicken tenders--but as the name suggests, the real stars are the loaded hot dogs. They start with a big locally sourced 6-to-1 all-beef dog and then pile on some wild toppings. I went with the Mactastic Dog--two strips of grilled bacon, creamy housemade mac & cheese, and a drizzle of sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, all on a perfectly steamed bun. Absolute perfection. I also couldn't resist trying the Bologna Coney, which was a thick grilled slice of bologna (cut in half) topped with Debbie's "almost famous" homemade coney sauce, a hit of stadium mustard, diced onions, and a generous handful of shredded cheese. I made it a combo with fries and a drink, and it did not disappoint. My wife ordered the Slaw Dog and loved every bite. As a former chef, I've got a soft spot for simple food done right--and that's exactly what Crazy Dog Grill delivers. The place itself has a fun, casual vibe with tables on two levels and some great classic rock playing in the background. If you're anywhere near Chillicothe, run, don't walk to Crazy Dog Grill. Ask for Debbie's "almost famous" coney sauce (I'm trying to make it officially famous!), and if you're a mac and cheese lover--trust me--get the Mactastic Dog. You'll thank me later. Tell Debbie Brian and Candi said hello!!

I get there and they hand me drink cups and then their ice machine doesn't work. The staff act horsey about the whole thing like they shouldn't have had our drinks ready (there's no one in the restaurant) or have to help us with it. The look on the staff member when she said "Do you want me to help you" was particularly shitty. We get home and the gyro is lamb. My wife ordered chicken and doesn't like lamb so I ate it. The Chicago dog was tough and inedible. The fries were cold. I arrived before the app told me it would be ready. There were two people in the restaurant so they weren't too busy. I can't imagine they will be in business much longer. Thoroughly awful.
